You will see the feddbacks of people who know the products and services of Too Cool Motorcycle School (Driving School) in the area close to Banff (Canada).
Now this business gets a score of 4.8 stars over 5 and the rating was based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that it reaches an opinions average is almost the best one, and it's based on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can say that the evaluation is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well with the business, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to put tatings when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Driving School is included in the category of Training centre.
Very few establishments exhibit the care and dedication to service that TCMS does. Trevor & crew went above and beyond to make everyone feel included and have the best learning experience possible. I was somewhat on the fence about getting a motorcycle and decided to take the course to see if I enjoyed it. What an incredible introduction to the sport! If you find yourself in the same boat, I highly recommend you give TCMS a shot!
Great teaching. Very safety conscious. Large selection of bikes to try. Long enough road ride at end of course to really put skills to practice.
This course went above and beyond my expectations. The instructors were great , they displayed so much patience for all of us learners. I would recommend Too Cool to anyone looking to take up riding.
Great experience and worth every penny. Trevor and his team are real enthusiasts and professionals. Even if you're experienced rider you might find lot of interesting and useful tips. Highly recommend.
Absolutely loved this course. All gear is provided, clean, and well taken care of. The coaches are patient, help build confidence and give you the tools you need to succeed and feel comfortable in any situation. The information and skill set that Trevor, Renee and Brent brought to the course definitely shows you how much they love the sport and how passionate they are about it. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.
Had a great time and I learned a lot from the experience. Trevor and his fellow instructors put on quite the performance. Going to a motorcycle school is a must before getting you class 6!
Best training course I've done across 4 continents
Absolutely the best training I have attended so far. I think the trainers are very detailed and care about your safety. I had a whole new perspective about safety after my training. If i could gove them 6 stars, I will give them..
They teach the skills you need to know to have a safe ride. I have been driving for years but didn’t have class 6 in Alberta.I decided to take the course as a refresher to prepare for my road test. I was surprised how much I learned from them. I knew how to drive, they tough me how to ride.
The instructors were amazing. you can tell they are passionate about riding and helping other learn to ride and ride safely. That care continues even after the course finishes and helps build a sense of community.
The TCMS is great! They show you everything you need to start building on your riding journey. I took the "Weekday Gold" class and it was worth it. Loads of extra riding time and practice time on all types of bikes. Plus they give you a some info on bike care and maintenance on one of the days. I was able to take my riding test within a couple of days after my course and passed with no issues at all. Everyone was always eager to get out and ride each day we were there. The road ride day was a lot of fun. It didn't feel like we were gone that long at all. Plus it gets you used to Calgary drivers that are going to be around you. ;) So if you are thinking at all about weather or not this riding school is worth it, let me tell you, IT IS. Sign up, you won't be disappointed.
Best Riding School! I received this course as a gift even though I thought what’s the point? I know how to ride, Just finished my course and I learned so much. The skills that were taught will no doubt save mine or someone elses life one day. The communication and the exercise breakdown was outstanding, The selection of bikes was awesome, from little Honda groms, to several different styles of sport bike ( Ninja, R3, CBR) to cruisers and dual purpose style bike really gives you the opportunity to find what you like and even step out of your comfort zone and try them all. Hands down will recommend to everyone!! Thanks Trevor And Dayne.
Really impressed with the instruction, and I am 100% satisfied. Finally learned to ride a motorcycle. Been saying I would for years. One of the best experiences.
I am going to try and keep this as short as I can so people actually read this review but I have so many great things to say it might not be possible. First of all, I initially thought I didn't need to go to a motorcycle school. I had dirt bikes as a kid and my own motorcycle which I rode before taking this course. My wife had one condition of me going full on with motorcycling and that was to take a course as her one condition. I asked around and the same name kept coming up, Too Cool Motorcycle School. So I signed up and boy am I glad I did. First, the in-class portion was engaging and entertaining, which you need when you've been working all day and have to sit and listen to someone talk about safety, gear and the world of motorcycling. Before you know it the in-class is done and you wonder how time passed so quickly. The on-bike portion was fantastic. Every day you felt like you were progressing and learning something new and something that will keep you safe as a rider for many years to come IF you follow their teaching. The final night was the cherry on top for me, a ride as a group through some beautiful parts of the city to really showcase what you have learned. Some say the courses are expensive, just do it! You cannot put a price on your own safety and learning to do things right. I feel that taking this course was the best money I have ever spent. The other thing to keep in mind is that when you complete this course it opens the door for you in many ways. You become part of the family, there are events and rides you can look forward to as well as getting to know other riders. I want to specially thank Trevor and his trainers for their time, teaching and help as I take the next step in my motorcycle journey. I can't wait to stop by with my bike to get my picture on the wall of fame. Thanks!
Honestly just go with these guys! Hands down the best way to learn how to ride. I really can’t recommend them strongly enough. I actually took a motorcycle course from a different Calgary company first, and though it was a little cheaper it was a terrible and somewhat traumatizing experience. I was very close to giving up on riding altogether. But I had a couple friends who were going to Too Cool so I decided to give it another go. And what a difference! Night and Day. The course is very comprehensive, considerate, and practical. It’s indisputable the instructors really care about you as a student and are doing everything possible to help you succeed. The course has clearly been refined with years of teaching and learning what works best. I’m now a licensed and confident biker because of their hard work. It’s really worth every penny (Don’t waste your time or money with the other guys).
All the basics and more! It's a great school! I'll be sure to visit again for a refresh.
Did not have a good experience with these guys. If you have the opportunity I'd go elsewhere. Cue the condescending response I'm sure to get as others have recieved....
Took this course last week (they took social distancing and sanitation seriously due to the pandemic) and absolutely loved every second of it. The instructors were simply fantastic. They were calm, well-spoken and demonstrated great leadership. There was lots of time on the bikes, had the opportunity to try their various models. Peers were very friendly and wanted to chat away, I cannot recommend this place enough and I truly believe it was money well spent! - Max L.
Every second of every training day was fun and exciting, Trevor and he’s team really do a good job pushing you to the best of your abilities...it’s not just riding the bike, it’s making it a part of you in a seamless fashion...if you can get to the day 3 training (very important) and let it become your natural instincts...your fearless, good to go and ride in any situation. They’re patient, encouraging, flexible, understanding and make it worthwhile. This school is highly recommended, you won’t regret it...????????????????????
This course was the one I wanted to attend for 5-10 years until my awesome girlfriend bought me the 2.5hr intro. That time with Trev convinced me that this was for me and quickly signed up for the 4 day course. Simply put, this course will give you confidence if you're worried/nervous/scared like I was. The opportunity to try different bike styles to see what you like and don't like was a great perk. Since graduation, I'm continually impressed by the reputation of Too Cool and Trevor himself. Every local bike shop I've gone to shows me a special respect as a graduate and we usually share our mutual admiration for Mr. Dech. It's a personal favourite indulgence to listen to a passionate person speak passionately about something they are passionate about. Trevor IS motorcycling and it shows. The legacy of random satisfied grads doing the Too Cool honk and waving on our road ride is testament to the awesome community you'll join. I make dopey decisions from time to time, but I'll never regret taking this course and I doubt you will either.
A great experience, I came to the course as an experienced dirt rider but really felt I needed to learn how to manage a bike on the streets, I ended up learning so much about how to ride the bike. The course was fun and totally ignited my desire to ride, in the 2 weeks since the course I have a bike and booked my road test... Trevor and Dana were world class and Lanchi makes sure everything runs smoothly, keep up the good work.
Exceptional program. I'm a better driver as well because of it. Great, great people.
Best way to learn how to ride a motorcycle! The instructor's truly care about teaching and want you to be the best and safest riders on the road. Highly highly highly recommended. They really are too cool!!
I cannot say enough amazing things about Too Cool Motorcycle School and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to ride! I was nervous going into this course... I had never ridden a motorbike before and I wasn't sure how the experience would be. But from the moment I stepped on the lot the first day, my fears became non existent because I literally could not stop smiling! Seriously, ear to ear smile, the whole time :) During my time a Too Cool, Trevor and Daynon were the best instructors I could have asked for! From the punny jokes, lol, to the time they took to give each student constructive criticism, every step of teaching was done with patience, detailed instruction, and encouragement. There was never a moment I felt unsafe or uncertain. My entire experience will forever be in my memories and shape me into the rider I will become. I also want to give a big shoutout and thank you to Trevor for sharing his passion with others. It is so apparent that he not only loves riding, but wants to teach others how to love this sport too, and do it safely. If I could give Too Cool 6 stars I would! You guys really are the coolest :)
This is one of the best if not the best investments you will make if you are looking for a great skill set and instructions how to ride a bike. Instructors are awesome coaches, supporting and leading you all the way through. It is a confidence booster and, best of all, it provides you with a perfect base to get into life long safe riding experience.
TCMS came highly recommended to me by many friends who hold alumni status and their recommendation proved to be well warranted. At first I was a bit overwhelmed by the online classroom instruction (so much information to take in at once), but Trevor & Daynon were so supportive and informative in their delivery of the content once on-site that all the anxious feelings dissipated instantly. I have wanted to ride since I was tall enough to reach the foot pegs on my father's Softail Heritage Classic but have always found reasons to push it back - the biggest reason being ego and the fear of being a beginner at something new again. The team (the students) and instructors were so lovely to learn alongside that I never felt discouraged or embarrassed when I stalled (only 800 times between days one and two) or grinded through the gears (sorry, boys). I felt that this atmosphere was integral to feeling confident and calm on the bike in the stadium as well as on the road on day four. I only learned about the road ride after booking my spot in the course and I was PETRIFIED to think of myself hurdling down Stoney Trail at 100 kmph, but when the time came I felt supported enough by the knowledge gained in the prior three days to really sit back and enjoy the ride (safely - elbows bent, eyes up). I am beyond excited to be part of this community and cannot thank the team at TCMS enough. If you're on the fence about registering and are looking for a push, let this be it. You won't be disappointed.
Too Cool Motorcycle school is a fantastic place to learn! The owner Trevor has loads of personality and expertise in the sport and business. He takes pride in training you the right way the first time! Dana is great too! He was supportive and had us laughing alongside learning. I went to this class Fall 2020. Due to Covid they provided online classes for most theory, that wasn't bad either! The hands on course was well organized and extra sanitization steps were taken to keep us all safe! Too cool came highly recommended and I see why. On top of a great fleet of bikes, nice gear, fun and challenging drills, they were understanding, humorous and encouraging all the way. Even when I popped an accidental weelie!! haha I'm glad to have chosen this school and feel I now have a strong foundation of which to continue to build on over the years of riding! Just got to buy my first bike! Cheers
Great instructors. Bing (Ben) Lu
Safe, professional and fun. You won't find a better run operation. Trevor is the best. :-)
This was the second bike course I have taken so I do have something to compare this to. I can't say enough good things about this company and how you immediately feel like family from the time you register to being on the lot and learning to ride, every single person makes you feel welcome. Here are some things I really appreciated. All of a sudden I was riding a motorcycle. The way things are explained with the context and order was so smooth and almost effortless. The variety of machines, you start off on a matched bike and this bike will help you gain core skills. I really appreciated keeping the same machine while building these skills so I could keep focus at the task at hand. There was opportunity to try all the different types to see what was a good fit. The constant calm demeanor and feedback all of our instructors built confidence that I lost previously. I knew I was learning skills I needed to be confident and safe. They were able to tell you what you were doing well and coach you on skills that needed work. This was done in such a respectful manor and with genuine care to help you get better. I never once felt like I would never get it, I knew I would with a bit more practice. The exercises are well thought out and give you lots of practice on the skills you are being taught. This may be a little bit more money then other courses but the difference pales in comparison to the value you get from the knowledge and experience you get from this school.
If you want to ride a motorcycle. Sign up with Too Cool. One of the best in the city.
The instructors are patient, extremely knowledgeable. They put the students at ease at all times. They explain what you are doing and why. You are fully prepared to go onto the road. In my opinion the only school to learn how to ride a motorcycle! I also took the Test Prep Course and plan on taking the Refresher course come spring!!
The gold course was incredibly dense with skills and info but so well well put together that it never felt like too much. Trev and Rene were great! Expect a ton of fundamentals and safety with just enough dad humour to keep things moving. This course was one of the best things I've done.
I took this course around a year ago and got my license in the fall. I've done a lot of riding and road trips since. Too Cool Motorcycle School was definitely worth the investment in retrospect. After putting over 10k km on my bike, I can say that it literally saved me a lot of pain. I can think of three times off the top of my head that the lessons have given me the ability to protect myself out there on the road. Thanks so much, you guys rock!
Excellent instructors very committed to the sport. Very knowledgeable and make the training very enjoyable. I would recommend everyone attend this school.
Worth every penny spent! The instructors are extremely supportive and helpful, in addition to being very experienced. They provide gear if you don't have yours yet and have great online resources and learning material. Great community feeling too. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone starting off!
Great experience, Trevor and Daynon really made it fun to learn, they teach you the skills so you can practice and become a better rider.
For a first time rider, the training has been very good. The instruction and insight that Trevor gives is very helpful.
Awesome training by awesome instructors. What they teach you will stay with you for life because they impart it with such passion and professionalism. Loved it all. Ride Safe.
This was a truly amazing experience! The instructors helped me to learn in the safest, most comfortable way possible. Not only was I new to riding, I was new to driving with a clutch! Everyone made the learning process seamless. If you want to learn how to ride, GO HERE! Thank you all very much :)
Everyone I spoke to who already rides a bike HIGHLY suggested I sign up for a riding class at Too Cool and having NEVER ridden a bike before in my life, I wasn't sure what to expect. From registration to first day of class to our ride on Calgary streets the Too Cool team are nothing short of fantastic. The classes are jammed packed and you get a lot of information thrown at you during class but the instructors are great at giving you direct feed-back and the encouragement you need as you go through the exercises. They genuinely care about you succeeding and gaining the confidence to hit the road armed with best practices (shoulder check when coming to a stop!!). I went from never riding a motorbike on a Monday evening to riding the Calgary roads on a Thursday evening with the group and it was the best experience ever. I highly recommend Too Cool Motorcycle School!!
As a begginer who never rode a motorcycle, I found myself completely confident and able to ride a motorbike not just as a normal rider but also as a responsible and cautious one. All these were not possible unless by an amazing and passionate method of teaching in this wonderful school.
Top Quality Training! Expert level instructors. Patient and Caring. If you want to learn how to ride a motorcycle the safe way, and the right way, sign up with Too Cool! Within 3 hours on the first day I was able to ride, shift and brake, confidently. I honestly didn't believe it was possible. Day 2 and Day 3 are spent learning how to maneuver and stop the machines safely. on Day 4, we got to try all of the different bikes and then went on a 3 hour ride around Calgary. It was incredible! Trevor and Daynan were incredibly knowledgeable and patient. They have created a motorcycle community based on safety and member support. Their training style is relevant, funny and geared towards all ages. As an older rider, I was concerned that I wouldn't learn as quickly as the younger riders. This wasn't the case at all. Trevor and Daynan make this hobby so easy and fun to learn. Like anything else in life, you get what you pay for. I was happy to pay for the additional "road time". During the 18.5 hours of on site training, we might have spent an hour, total, on our feet. The rest of the training time was spent on the bikes, riding and maneuvering. I'd highly recommend this training school. I feel safe and confident while riding because I know I've been trained the right way. I haven't learned any bad habits and know what to do in an emergency. Every rider should take this course. I'm sure it has saved lives.....
Trevor and the entire Too Cool team were great! They are all incredibly knowledgeable and patient with you when learning to ride. If you are in calgary or area and are interested in learning how to ride, I would definitely recommend Too Cool Motorcycle School.
Amazing place to learn, have fun, and be confident after gaining skills to ride. Instructor's are top notch!
I took this course 3 years ago and found the training and staff to be excellent. The safety and skills taught have definitely aided me to be a conscientious and more confident rider.
Super knowledgeable and friendly. I felt like I learned enough from this course to feel comfortable riding and was able to get my license shortly after. I am also a huge fan of puns and would take this class again just for Trevor's terrible jokes.
Best instructors ever! So cool!
I chose this motorcycle school after extensive research, and assumed they would be the best choice. However, after attending my first lesson, I can’t believe how disrespectful this school is. I’ll admit, I wasn’t getting the hang of things and was struggling to keep up with the group. The instructors were moving so fast, and I was frustrated. After almost falling off my bike, I decided it would be best not to continue, as it was as evident the instructors were lagging behind because of me and I didn’t want to keep anyone else up. I decided to email the company, to ask (politely) if I could get a partial refund. Instead, I was sent a cruel email victim blaming me and stating the reason I left the course is because I was “too embarrassed” and it “happens to all of us”. That was most definitely not the case, as I mentioned above the instructors were pushy and made me feel like I wasn’t progressing enough, so I felt the only option was to leave. I did it because I thought it was right, because clearly all this school cares about is making money and helping those who can keep up, not those who are struggling. I have attached the email response I received so you can get a sense of the accusatory tone. As a beginner, I am appalled by the lack of sincerity and respect of this school. Please avoid going here.
Some of the most phenomenal instructors who really teach you how to ride properly.
Too Cool packs a ton of information into four days but it's delivered in a way that makes it easy to understand and execute on. The 8 person group I was in (thanks Covid) seemed to be a manageable size that allowed for lots of hands-on and personal feedback. The fleet was diverse and well maintained. It was a great experience and I won't hesitate to go back for refresher courses or attend other courses Trevor leads. Thanks TCMS!
I want to thank the entire crew at Too Cool for an amazing experience learning to ride. I have a tremendous amount of appreciation and respect for the planning and preparation that goes into the course. From the theory to the practical "bars on" training was superb! I would highly recommend this course to anyone considering riding. Thank you so much! Hailan
If learning to ride is on your bucket list, do yourself a favour and take training from the best in the city - Too Cool. You'll learn a solid foundation of necessary skills that you can build on in a fun, safe setting. Trevor and the instructors are immensely knowledgeable, patient, encouraging, supportive...there's a reason the school has been around as long as it has. Best value for your dollar in terms of hours of instruction on bike for the basic course, and the springtime refresher courses are a great rust remover for seasoned riders who want to have some fun on their own bikes on a Friday evening. I'm happy to be part of the Too Cool family!
During the hottest week of the hottest month, I finally made it to my first motorcycle course. In my case, I'd driven dirt bikes for recreation since a child but never as a substitute for an automobile on the road. It was always on my bucket list to get my motorcycle license and this course will prepare you from a skill perspective and also help with the insurance rate. My assessment overall is that the persons involved are a highly dedicated group of professionals who truly believe in what they do. You could not be in better hands taking such a course. The equipment available includes protective boots which for those who have only used motocross boots, are an amazing alternative. Regarding critique, my suggestions are workflow related and should not be viewed as outweighing the predominantly positive experience. 1/ Most motorcycle time was spent waiting in a queue of riders to perform a circuit or drill, which is inefficient and (in the middle of summer), hot as "H" "E" double hockey sticks. If repeating a drill, you've lost the motor memory of the previous attempt. Perhaps students could do circle drills while waiting for their time to perform a drill for the instructor. 2/ Radios were used to broadcast the instructor's voice to speakers mounted near the start of a circuit where the student was waiting to start. Helmets impede hearing and for those with slight to moderate hearing loss, you can't hear what the instructor is saying. My suggestion would be to search for wearable in-ear radios for the students. Those are the two major suggestions. Too Cool Motorcycle School was not that cool when I took in mid summer, but it was the most fun I’ve had a VERY long time. Book well in advance.
WoW! What an amazing experience. Trevor and Rene are professional and fun to work with. This course is very in depth and focuses on safety more than anything else. I'd recommend these guys to anyone. If you are thinking of taking up riding, take this course before you do anything else! Thank you Too Cool Motorcycle, hope to see you guys in a future ride.
I completed my motorcycle course with "Too cool.." last month. It was really valuable experience to me. Instructors enjoyment and passion to this sport make a real difference and helped me grasp new skills quicker. I don't know, when I will get my own bike, but this course made me definitely a better driver, and I started noticing more things on the road already. 5 stars!!!
If you are learning to ride motorcycles and you live even remotely close to Calgary, this should be your one and only choice. Cannot say enough good things about too cool. They will mold you into a fully capable rider in 18 hours of riding and you will feel comfortable on any motorcycle. Review written by Rabbit
I am a confident and safe rider thanks to these guys. They have supported, encouraged and guided me throughout the years and I love what they do for the local motorcycle community. If you want to learn how to ride, I highly recommend the team at Too Cool. Their course in packed with so much info, experience, practice and safety. They also throw in some fun and humour, and you feel like you are part of a family.
Having never sat on a moborbike before, I was apprehensive about plonking down the money for a course with TCMS. But I am immeasurably thankful that I did. On the Monday we were being (literally) pushed along a car park with the engine off to demonstrate the need for balance. By Thursday the entire class was cruising down Crowchild and Stoney at highway speeds in the rain. Leading us from Monday to Thursday was done by the immensely experienced instructors (lead by the indefatigable Trevor) in a way that never let me feel worried for my safety and continuously built upon my confidence. One step at a time all members of the class were given the tools to progress. And it was the culmination of that progress over just a few days that had us all on the highway while we each felt comfortable and confident thanks to the superlative depth of experience and teaching methods of the instructors. If you wish to learn how to ride a motorbike, this is the school and these are the people you need.
I was just entering into the world/sport of motorcycle riding and was incredibly nervous. My first experience (before TooCool) was a friend who tried to teach me, which ended very scarily and fortunately safely. Suffice to say that I was trepidatious about riding. I was also nervous about joining a class at my age and being so green. Trev and the rest of the TooCool family couldn’t have been more welcoming. Their gentleness and unmatched love for this sport inspired all of the class. They are amazing community builders, as I connected with other students (something I was not expecting at all). They are the most professional, yet approachable school I could ever imagine. I woild give them 10 stars out of five if I could. I passed my class 6 first try, and I know that I owe it all to them. The best part is that they truly create community, so even after you have finished the course, you are still and always a part of the family. I can’t imagine a better group to begin riding with.
This was by far the best training I have ever received. The instructors were very attentive, patient, polite. Stressing and educating on the safety and the dangers of riding a bike. You will not be disappointed when taking this course for your class 6.
Not only a first class school, they are also a first class employer. ✌????????
I have recommended my brother to book with this company. I did the referral because my friend had done a course with them. I guess they are good in terms of the teaching, but nothing else. They have differed the classes for months (I understand COVID being an issue), however, they have just released a new Limited schedule which doesn’t really work, so we contacted them and they were unprofessional. We told them the dates didn’t work, they said you will lose your money. We said well, initially I signed up for a date that worked but now you are not offering any that fits my schedule, so We asked if We can use the payment as credit for next year, they rejected. Ultimately, they said we will issue u partial refund after a long chat! Why partial? They aren’t offering the dates that works for me. They were unprofessional. I will never recommend them to anyone again. A lesson learned!
Communication was disrupted due to Covid, and well done to Lanchi for owning it and admitting there were problems. Lanchi went out of her way to ensure I was booked in for this year and also kept me updated and offered me places when there were cancellations. The rest of the booking went smoothly and I have just completed day 1. Keep up the good work guys! I knew all those 5 star reviews couldn't be wrong.
I wouldn't trust these guys to teach me how to ride a motorcycle!!! They can't even drive a car as demonstrated by them using the passing lane to drive slower than the speed limit and slow down traffic!
I just finished my course with TooCool, and it was one of the most amazing experiences in my life. First, their approach is 100% based around safety, and their training completely works toward that. The team at TooCool is incredibly professional, and when they do their demos, you can clearly see that they know what they're doing. They push you to your comfort limits, but that is all part of the process. By time the road ride happens (last day), you feel the appropriate level of humility, caution and excitement that a motorcycle rider needs. Their philosophy on the mental part of the motorcycle experience is what intrigued me the most. The appreciation for life and the world we can experience on a motorcycle was profound. They also believe we should be a community of riders being good citizens and contributors. Oh, and riding the bikes was incredibly fun as well! This is a fantastic group of people.
I had the best experience. As a smaller female, they had very comfortable smaller bikes to ride, Trevor and Renee really took the time to make all of us feel important, heard and most importantly SAFE!! I feel like both of them really took the time to have one on one conversations with each of us, the things we do good, and privately talked to us about the things we weren't great at. I went from barely comfortable getting on my bike to being able to ride easily!!!! Thank you both!!!!
This place is amazing. The instructors are great, really corny (in a good way), but great teachers. But my dad and now myself have good and i wouldcsend anyone i know there.
Signed with these cold individuals last year to take the course. Starting date wasn't clear to me so I tried to call them, but no response. Tried to email them, no response. Drove to the address used on google maps, no psychical office there.. apparently its just the location where training takes part. As the deadline passed, I was contacted to be notified that my money went down the toilet. I begged them to reschedule, but I was coldly rejected. Being jobless at the time with a lot of free time in my hands, I asked them if I could fill a gap on any future course that isn't fully signed by people, but again I was coldly rejected. They try give people the image as if they have a passion for teaching and have love for the motorcycle community, but all they have is passion and love for money.
Just a phenomenal team of instructors, Trevor and his team are experienced riders with some great advice for people of all skill levels taking the course. They will give you valuable information to ensuring your safety on the road as well as your ability to handle the bike. The entire course was just such a joy to be a part of and I can't wait to start my own riding career. Thank you very much for your time and patience Too Cool Motorcycle School.
Well, I cannot say enough about the magnificent experience I had with this motorcycle school and the two instructors who shared their passion with my son and I this past July!!! I could write a book, but the following paragraphs will have to do! Head Master Instructor Trevor has a zen-like demeanor and keeps everything calm and undramatic. Totally positive with a confidence that rubs off on all participants in the school. Teachers are born, not made, and Trevor has the teacher gift. Daynon was an awesome instructor also. Giving the corrections and advice required at just the right time to ensure on the spot learning. He answered all questions with respect and was a considerate, empathetic teacher. This school is the BEST SCHOOL bar none!!!! Don't even look at other schools to learn from!!!! There is only one, TCMS, that will make you the rider you dream of being!!! I will be back to complete other courses with you and so will my son, and my daughters, and my grandson and my granddaughter, and my friends, the list goes on!!!! Thanks so much for all you do Sandman and Inde!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!!!
Had an amazing time at Too Cool! Big thanks again to Trevor and Lanchi and the whole Team! They helped me get over my fears and slowly built up my confidence. Highly recommend for anyone - these guys know what they are doing and made learning how to ride so much fun :)
I just finished the basic course offered by these spectacular people. Let me first off say that I highly recommend this course for anyone looking to jump on two wheels. They love their “dad jokes” and it really grows on you. The instructors are incredibly great teachers; I’ve learned so so so much. The only thing that might outshine their expertise is their hearts. You really feel how much they care about their students, and make you feel like part of a family. Considering which motorcycle school to go with? Look no further.
Can't believe I haven't already done this! I did the training in spring of 2015. I had never ridden a motorcycle before and by the second day I was doing it. The instructors were patient, encouraging, funny and incredibly knowledgeable. They are passionate about motorcycles and rider safety. The ride on the last day of class was one I'll never forget because you're on that bike and a little voice is saying "you're actually doing it!!". I don't ride as much as I would like to or should, but when I do get on my bike, I know I have the tools and skills to be safe out there. The BEST school in Calgary!
I went from not knowing the controls of a motorcycle before the start of the course to being able to confidently go on stoney trail and ride around on the road by the end of the course. This isn't because I have god given talent in riding motorcycles (I wish). It all has to do with how good the instructors are at teaching, how the course is laid out and planned, how much the instructors care about what they're doing and about the students, and of course, the humour. Not only do you learn a ton of things, you have a lot of fun too. You can see how passionate they are about what they do. Not enough good things can be said about the Too Cool team. Glad I decided to go there!
One of my earliest memories was one from the age of 3 or 4. I don’t care what the recent studies on memories before the age of 6 are, I know what I know, and this was my memory - not someone relating it to me. I had set up a ramp at the bottom of a “hill” in our yard and I was riding my tricycle down the hill, up the ramp. One skinned chin, palms, elbows, knees; blood oozing everywhere later I think I finally decided I wasn’t cut out to be the next Evel Knievel. Well, actually there were a few more incidents… My point is this, I’m way north of 40 years old and my whole life I’ve daydreamed about being on a motorcycle and doing stuff. Last year, the school was able to help me start riding again after 20 years. I thought that was going to be the pinnacle. Yeah right, come to this school and you’ll see what I’ve discovered: you don’t want to leave and it’s ok to love your motorcycle. So this year, I took their off-road course in the gravel. That was July 24th. On July 25th I was out in Canmore taking a gravel road to Kananaskis - 1 day later. Going from 50km/hr to the posted limit of 80km/hr! All I can say is if you want to learn something about motorcycles and you think maybe you can’t for whatever reason, this is the school where you can. Unless someone has the wrong attitude, then nothing is going to help that kind of person except themselves. You know the kind: their water is too wet, etc etc. However, this school is awesome! I love that word and I can’t use it enough about Trevor and Lanchi and Daynon and guest that day: David! And let me tell you, doing that gravel road the day after the course wasn’t just exhilarating, it was freeing. And thanks to TooCool, I was able to gauge and deal with the road. And I’m sure that if they taught motocross, I’d be able to finally make that jump! A big thank you to everyone at TooCool for offering this course: for all the training you provided and making sure you gave me the skills necessary for an entry to off-road conditions! It’s so much better up there, off-road in the mountains!
What a great experience!! Learned a lot!!They are supporting you every step of the way and even after the course is over!! Would definitely recommend to everyone that is interested!!
Absolutely awesome experience, instructors are the best!!!
These guys make dreams come true. Thank you for all you do for the 2 wheeling community. The things I learned in 4 days is amazing. I can't believe the confidence you build.
Thank you, Too Cool! Taking your refresher course made a real difference in my riding. I leave your course with better control over my own bike. Thank you for the refresher on body positioning, slow speeds riding, slow speed turning, FRC, emergency braking, push steering, and the right way to lean into corners. I enjoy your learning environment which is safe, supportive, and really fun! (Really, really fun) Thank you for encouraging me to become better at this sport through practice. I highly recommend the refresher course for all riders!
This was an amazing experience! They broke everything down step by step to help build the fundamentals and your confidence up! I would not be able to enjoy my 23 seconds without them. Highly highly recommend!
If you're looking into doing a course then just go ahead a choose these guys. Don't think it's possible to find a better place. These guys are so well organized, knowledgeable and friendly that you're guaranteed to enjoy your experience. Can't say enough good things about them. Not to mention I feel 10 times safer with the knowledge I have now.
I took the Basic training course from Too Cool Motorcycle School and was impressed with the professionalism of Trevor, Lanchi, and Danen. These people work very hard to put the course together and maintain the whole curriculum all while jumping through more hoops due to Covid 19. They all take their jobs very seriously and their main goal is to help prepare you as much as possible before ' letting you loose' on the roads. It is a lot of information to take in and a couple of times I thought it was pretty hard. But it is a serious thing to ride a motorcycle, It is also really fun as well - try to laugh at Trevor's jokes. :) Our whole class passed the course which is something that I am really proud of. I am also really proud of myself for taking and passing the course, This course really prepares you for taking your road test , I feel very confident now to take the road test. Before I took the course I could ride a motorcycle - and not drop it. Now after the course I can ride properly and with much better control. I highly recommend taking the Too Cool Motorcycle School course whether you have experience riding or not. Riding the Grom was actually a highlight for me , its a neat little bike - too small for me to ride everyday , but a fun bike to bomb around in. Really take the time to do all the homework BEFORE you start the course. The instructors refer to the videos and training manuals ver batim so know the acronyms. FRC !!! I will not forget that one. One of the things I appreciate about the instructors is their positive attitude. After doing an exercise they will talk to each student about what they did well and what to improve on. The course was hard work AND worth it. Thank you again to Sandman, Indie, and M.O.M.
Absolutely top-notch. I came here as a complete beginner, after numerous recommendations from friends and co-workers that this was the best place to do my motorcycle training. Right from day one, I was struck by how patient and professional these guys were, and the training I received here was an excellent introduction and overview of the required skills and habits. It's clear that these guys have been doing this for many years and really know their stuff. I managed to pass my class 6 road test on the first attempt thanks to the training I received here, but more important than that, these guys armed me with the knowledge that I need to enjoy this sport safely and hopefully for many years to come. Huge thank you to Trevor and Rene and all the other staff at TCMS!
Best school in Calgary!
Great teachers great bikes and a fun experience
Trevor & Daynon are definitely the real deal = these 2 guys are great instructors, they always keep safety as their top priority when teaching - and they also make everything you learn about operating motorcycles (the CORRECT way) both fun & interesting. From day #1; you can easily tell they are passionate about what they do and it is certainly contagious! The best decision I ever made was taking a course with Too Cool Motorcycle School (no regrets here, not even 1).
I don't leave many reviews but felt it necessary to do so in this case. Very rarely am I blown away by an experience and this was it. Trevor and Renee (apologies for the spelling) took a group of rookies who didn't know where the key went to experiencing their first true ride in 4 days. Riding through the country side as a group it was hard to look back at day one, crushing pylons. Trevor's is creating life long riders and I hope everyone is lucky enough to take this course. Corry
Let me first start off by saying how grateful I am for Lanchi by putting me into an open slot earlier than I had booked and how easy it was to communicate with her. Second, thank you Trevor's dad for the amazing weather we had the past 4 days during the course. Now onto the good stuff (hint.... nothing is bad). My experience with this school has been undoubtedly the highlight of 2020. Starting with the professionalism that Trevor and Daynon aka Indy showed to all of the students. We lucked out and got a smaller class size due to covid and none of us every felt unattended to at any time during the course. First let's start with SAFETY. They have the best gear period. You get Arai helmets which average $1000 a pop, you get top notch D3O viscoelastic armour in every jacket (back, shoulders and elbow), super comfy $400 boots from AlpineStar and comfy yet protected gloves from RevIt. No expense was sparred in order to protect me the student. 2. Immaculate Covid protocols in place to ensure our safety. 3. Very well maintained fleet of motorcycles 4. Instructors - Between Trevor's decades of racing and teaching experience to Daynon (Indy's) charismatic humour and talent, you will simply not find a better combo to teach you the LIFE SAVING skills that are needed to enjoy this incredible sport. 5. Course content (too much to go over) but it is easy to follow, it's progressive and it is absolutely fundamental for any new or heck even current riders I'd say. The instructors ensured I was comfortable with every technique taught before moving on to another one. If you have doubts or reservations about taking this course, DON'T! You will feel at ease and you will overcome your challenges with their help. 6. It's F*KING FUN! How else to put it really? If you come into this course with an open heart, open mind, toss whatever ego out the door and put MAXIMUM effort a la Deadpool then you WILL take away so much more than just motorcycle skills. If I do end up getting a dual sport bike, I won't hesitate to take their off-road course. In the mean time, just book the damn course! ;)
I just completed the Basic course (18.5 hours on bike) and it was great! Very welcoming to new riders, and super organized. Their ability to bring a random group along at a pace that challenges without being overwhelming was impressive. They show obvious enjoyment and passion, and really make good use of the time available to teach the basics, while also setting a foundation for continued learning. For example I learned what it felt like to trigger ABS, and also what I should be working towards to be more effective at braking - that's just one example of many. I learned a lot, and also left with an understanding of where I want to improve. The final day with a ride through mixed streets from residential with stop signs all the way through highway riding was a real pleasure, and really helped cement what I'd learned in prior days and why particular skills had been taught. Money well spent, I'd recommend it to anyone getting into biking or needing a refresher. Excellent course, with a really fun set of instructors. Oh, and their Covid-19 protocols were excellent. Masking when necessary, good cleaning between uses, and generally organized to maintain good distance.
The course was AMAZING. Well put together - they had all the equipment needed and laid it out for you each day. The staff was knowledgeable, approachable, and fun - their years of experience shows! I came out a confident rider and would recommend any rider (new or experienced) to take it.
Wow....where do I even begin with my experience. Trevor said there was no such thing as a 5-star review, but I have to disagree. I was someone with ZERO motorcycle experience, not even experienced with a manual vehicle to say the least. Trevor and Jack are honestly some of the most patient and knowledgeable people I have ever met. I really want to emphasize the patience. Motorcycles, without having any knowledge can be intimidating. Even when we made mistakes, which was bound to happen, Trevor and Jack were never dramatic or did anything to make you feel bad. They always focused on the things you did well and then gave you a single thing to work on the next time you tried. The amount of knowledge that our instructors had and the methods they used teach us just made sense. They used very simple analogies to help concepts stick, performed demos for us and took the time to really explain to ensure we understood. It was also more than just a motorcycle class, they really sold us on the sport and the comradery that comes along with it. By the end of the week for the on-road portion, I felt confident and SAFE to be out on the roads with the class due to Trevor and Jack's absolutely stellar teaching. If you're thinking of getting into this sport, DO the class with Too Cool Motorcycle School - you definitely won't regret it! #sprinklesandbolts
As far as i'm concerned, the best motorcycle riding and safety course in town if not all of Alberta and possibly even north America. Trevor and his team have over 80 years of motorcycle riding and racing experience between them all. They will teach you how to stay safe on the road and have a long and enjoyable riding career. An absolute must for all new motorcycle riders out there. A component of his course on emergency breaking and push steering is unique to his program and am not certain is taught by other motorcycle riding schools in Calgary. Highly highly recommend this course for all new riders out there looking to get their class 6 or just wanting to stay more safe on the roads out there.
Pros: great teachers, very knowledgable, Your not just a number, they treat you like a person and want you to Succeed, they make it fun and easy to learn.. They care about your safety and they teach Cons: ....can’t really think of any Great course amazing people
Excellent learning experience with professional, funny, friendly, and knowledgeable instructors! The things I learned will stick with me for the rest of my time riding and I would recommend this to anyone who takes an interest in the sport.
I highly, highly recommend the course/company if you're wanting to learn the foundations of motorcycle riding and proper techniques! The first of four days is well worth the price of registration, and every day after provides you more knowledge and training to becoming a better and safer rider. We had Trevor and Daynon as instructors over the 4-day course and they were fantastic! They were very informative, patient, and expert communicators. They simplified the techniques with detailed verbal and visual instructions, memorable stories, acronyms, and constant one-on-one help/feedback throughout the days. You can tell they practice and live by what they preach, and care about peoples success as much as they care about the sport. I'm definitely happy I took the course and strongly recommend anyone wanting to ride to do the same!
These guys were great to deal with and helped me better prepare with a safety focused mindset. Trevor and team have a nice variety of bikes to try out to help one understand what may be the best fit for oneself. Very helpful and extremely focused on coaching their students to be setup for success.
Top notch in all categories! While I haven't been to other schools, I am very very pleased I went with Too Cool for my basic training. Trev & Rene were fantastic to work with (read: patient and caring), I couldn't recommend these guys highly enough, no doubt they put 200% in every single day. Big thanks boys! See you on the road.... and maybe that off-road academy too!! My best advice: don't wait another day, week or year to sign up - GET ON IT.
Trevor and his team at too cool are passionate about motorcycle riding and saftey, and it really shows. I watched people who couldn't even sit on a motorcycle ride confidently in a manner of days. Great people and great training. I tell anyone and everyone who is looking to start riding to go to too cool and learn how to ride the right level way.
Amazing place. Really rewarding experience. The instructors know infinitely more than they have time to tell you but cut no corners in laying the foundation for a fulfilling and safe motorcycle career. You will leave much more confident in your abilities and knowledge.
Truly an amazing time! They really take the time to explain, teach, and make sure everyone understands and can preform the very valuable tools and maneuvers they teach you! I am so thankful for the time I had with Too cool motorcycle school and and so happy I chose to come here and learn!
Really great teachers. All different styles and personalities so it will be easy to learn from one of them. Really should try to take your course here if you want to get your license.
Too cool motorcycle school was such an amazing experience! The instructors Daynon and Trevor gave me all the confidence . I loved learning from the best .
The crew at Too Cool are the most caring group of instructors. They make you feel like family from the first moment you walk onto the parking lot and Trevor greets you like an old friend. They honestly and genuinely care about seeing you succeed and have your safety as their top priority. If you have any worries or bad experiences on a motorcycle, let them know, and they will try to make you feel more comfortable, at the best of their abilities. Through theory and real time practice, they guide you through the basics and emergency techniques that create a solid foundation you can depend on through your entire riding career. This course has been one of the best experiences I have been through and I cannot recommend them enough. Also, if you're a fan of dad jokes, you'll fit right in there ;]
I took this course April 2019. The instructors are amazing and very helpful. I had never been on a bike before and was nervous as hell. they gave me the confidence and tools to feel at home on the bike. the use of different styles of bike opened my eyes to a new appreciation for all styles...
Finished my course this week with Trevor, Rene and Jordan. It was exactly as I expected. They are friendly, passionate about riding and really good teachers. If you want to ride, you need to sign up for their course. Absolutely loved it.
I am a recent graduate of Too Cool Motorcycle School (May 2019), and I couldn't be happier with this course. I took the gold level course, and am very glad I did. The extra time on bike and the maintenance portion where well worth the extra few dollars. The reason I decided to go with Too Cool was the fact that gear and bike rentals where inckuded in the price. The only thing required to bring was the desire to learn. The passion for both the sport of motorcycling and for safe instruction of riders was incredible. They really help to make their students safer faster. I was able to ride on a variety of styles of bike, and it was great to be able to see the differences between styles. I couldn't believe how in four short days I went from a guy who had really never been on a motorcycle to a guy who participated in a group ride and was able to comfortably operate a motorcycle at highway speeds. I am so excited to continue on with the sport. Thank you Trev and Renee Tl:Dr Amazing, would (and do) recommend very highly
Assertive, yet patient instruction.Very pleased with their COVID safety compliance practices. Fantastic selection and condition of motorcycles to learn on. On successful completion of the course, I feel I have an excellent foundation to continue to build my skills upon. If you are even slightly interested in riding, Too Cool Motorcycle School should be your first step. I am super happy it was mine.
The level of professionalism, patience, expertise and care that is on display from everyone involved at Too Cool is a marvel simply from an educational standpoint - one would be extremely fortunate to find such adept individuals in any program regardless of the topic or field of interest. Trevor, Rene and Daynon have managed to craft a program and learning environment that is extremely approachable, thoughtful and somehow managed to make riding through pylons for hours on end exciting. The skills that they instill on their students over the course make the group ride at the end feel safe, comfortable and best of all exciting. By slowly building the students competence and confidence, once all the pieces come together, making your way out of the parking lot and into the real world is such a natural transition. I would and will recommend this course to anyone with ears (or in this case eyes) if you have even the slightest interest in learning how to ride a motorcycle. I can't stress enough how well prepared a rider you'll be to start off on two wheels.
Had a great time learning to ride at Too Cool. Lots of time is spent on the bike during the program, plenty of personalized feedback and great instructions (and a high quantity of cheesy dad jokes, but that makes it all even more enjoyable ;) )
To all new riders or people looking to get back into the sport these guys were awesome and I would highly recommend. They came highly recommended from a couple of friends of mine and they did not disappoint. I did the course last spring and proceeded to put 8000 km on my bike over the summer including a week trip into BC. This course gives you the foundation to be a good, safe and confident rider! Trevor and Team thanks again!
What an amazing experience! From the moment I stepped into the parking lot, the team at Too Cool made me feel like a part of their family. They were supportive and sincerely caring throughout my learning journey, and had the most incredible patience. Thank you so much for never giving up on me and guiding me on this fantastic adventure!
I took motorcycle safety training through the Calgary Safety Council several years ago and my wife has ridden on the back of my bike for a number of years. This year her and her colleague decided to take the motorcycle safety course and I encouraged them to take it through Too Cool due to the many positive things we had heard. I regret my encouragement now as that was the only encouragement her and her colleague received. I recall at the Safety Council when some students were struggling with a skill some of the instructors would take them aside or work with them on a break. They were given much encouragement and chances to try to gain a skill. My wife and her colleague experienced the opposite. They were accused of not preparing or practicing on their bicycles even though they had both done so. My wife has many kilometres experience riding on the back as well. The instructors tone was condescending and belittling. After two trys to balance the motorbike my wife's colleague felt very defeated and gave up, my wife gave up soon after as she was told they would only have three chances. Your staff drove them to tears and put a bad taste for motorcycling in their mouths. My wife wrote to you privately with her concerns a few weeks ago but has had no response. Hence my very public negative review. I'm disappointed as an active member of Calgary's motorcycling community. I'm sure their experiences would have been much different at the Calgary Safety Council. It's too late to find out now though as the taste is too bitter for her to try again. I'm afraid I will be passing this on to my other friends in the Community unless you reach out to her and try to make things whole... Trevor- it's in your court now...
Amazing course, amazing people. I would recommend to anyone looking to get their license to go there. Thank you guys so much for a life time of information.
Not impressed with how they are dealing with the COVID situation. Very un professional, doesn’t respond to emails, rude and not accommodating.
I took Trevor's course 30 years ago when I first started riding and the experience was invaluable! So much so that I took the course again just last year with my girlfriend as a refresher. It's amazing how you develop bad habits (which Too Cool will break you of)!!! Very good course. I would recommend it to any rider!
Great course and encouraging staff. Learned a lot of great techniques and feel confident on the road. It’s also made me a better driver in my car which I wasn’t expecting
I took too cool in the summer of 2020. I always knew I was going to take this course before I got my first Street bike. My father always said that too cool was as good as a prep course could be for bikes, so needless to say my expectations were astronomically high. Trevor and his team exceeded all of my expectations, he's one of the most knowledgeable riders out there and I feel like I got more information in those 5 days than was physically possible. But they also have a great presentation when teaching, with funny (and sometimes eye-roll- inducing) quips, solid information and a friendly attitude. I won't be forgetting the things I learned at too cool anytime soon, and Ill be recommending this course, and this course only for any would be riders in calgary.
I can’t imagine learning from more knowledgeable, experienced, friendly, and fun people. This school was above and beyond my wildest expectations. In a matter of days, I went from having no street motorcycle experience, to be able to pass my class 6 on the first try! The registration process was fast and easy, the classes were structured and informative, the coaches were patient and personable, and the bikes were new, well maintained, and suitable for all riders. I would recommend Too Cool Motorcycle School to anyone looking at getting their license, or advancing their skills on two wheels.
The training was top notch with attention to details. I passed my class 6 with with confidence. Safely is number one! Thanks Trev and the Team.
I had an absolutely amazing experience with Too Cool. Trevor and Daynon were terrific instructors and I learned a lot from them. I appreciated how they remove their sunglass when speaking to you and give you direct feedback at any given moment to help you improve. It was a tremendous experience and I will certainly be retuning to expand my knowledge of how to be a better and safer rider. An added bonus was learning what gear works best for me and all the significant discounts I got after passing the course at the affiliated dealers dealing with Too Cool.
Excellent experience that is a must for all.
I can't imagine a better course to take. Or better instructors. Too Cool actually cares that you are learning the right methods and more importantly, the right mindset, to be a safe rider. It's not about putting you through the steps and collecting your money, it's about building a safe and enjoyable sporting culture. If you're committed to learning, then learn from the best. If you want to save a couple bucks, well, you know, $10 helmet for a $10 brain... Looking forward to the advanced courses!
TooCool was recommended to me by my colleagues at work. These guys are the best! Thank you to Trevor for sharing your passion of the sport. To Coach (Brent) for spotting safety issues from 50+ meters and Rene for the encouragement. You all taught an old dog new tricks and I got my license safely on my first attempt. Your enthusiasm has spilled over and now my wife wants to take the course.
Awesome experience, I could have not asked for any better. The staff is awesome, patient, love to joke around & the most part very experienced with motorbikes. I took everything I was taught & apply it every time I go riding. I did alot of research for Calgary bike schools & found other instructors lack the knowledge & experience Too Cool Motorcycle School instructors have. If you want to be an awesome/safe rider then goto this school. Book well before the season starts, otherwise you most likely be getting in at the end of the riding season or not at all. The class's fill up fast.
Fantastic experience! Trevor and Daynon are terrific instructors, extremely skilled riders and they both work extremely hard to make sure everyone has a positive experience. Trevor has an incredible amount of motorcycling and teaching experience. He is a fantastic source of information for anything related to motorcycling. The staff are all true motorcycling ambassadors. There is a lot of information to absorb in a short amount of time, but Trevor and Daynon are very organized and everything just flows. If you put in the effort and are well prepared by doing the course prep, classroom work and homework you are rewarded with a great experience on the bike. There is a major focus on learning to ride safely and on life long skill development and further training. The entire staff are always friendly and full of positive energy. You get to ride a variety of bike styles which is great. Just wish the course was a bit longer so we could spend a little more time riding. Learned a ton and had lots of fun. Excited to be part of the Too Cool family. I highly recommend Too Cool Motorcycle School!
I can't say enough good things about this school. From the instructors, to the course structure - it's the perfect introduction to learning how to ride a bike safely and effectively. You get to learn on a variety of bikes, which makes your riding even stronger. I started off feeling really nervous and left the course feeling confident and capable. These guys are in a class of their own. Top notch!
I looked at all the motorcycle schools here in Calgary. Too Cool was by far the most professional. Jack my instructor took the time to explain course details and procedures in a way I could understand as I am a visual learner. Thank you Jack and Too Cool for helping me get one step closer to enjoying the motorcycling adventure as a licensed rider.
Simply the best training experience I could have hoped for. Coaches are very knowledgeable, and inspire confidence and camaraderie. Highly recommended by this guy!
I just finished my course and can't say enough good things about how I learned about what I didn't know. I knew how to ride a motorcycle, but wow, there was a ton I really didn't know. No matter what your previous knowledge might be, you'll learn how to be a better rider, how to be a safer rider and have a great time doing it at this school. Never ridden a bike before? There were also some amazing examples where Trevor and his team made sure that no one was left behind. The confidence that was produced or increased in everyone was testament to their teaching style and their passion and commitment to ensuring we all had the best understanding of what, how and why we were learning whatever it was we were learning. Almost hard to believe, based upon how much fun we had. I personally knew 5 people that couldn't say enough good things about Too Cool after they took the course and that's why I ended up there. They were not wrong! Looking forward to returning to the school shortly with my license to visit the friends I made there.
Totally impressed with the professionalism of Too Cool Motorcycle school. Too Cool have very experienced first class instructors who take great approach in teaching you how to ride. I highly recommend their services.
Do yourself a favour and take this course if you're keen on learning to ride. I started out a beginner and less than 20hrs of biking later I felt comfortable on roads ranging from the McMahon parking lot to Stoney Trail. The course is outstanding, from the professional approach and organization to the god-awful jokes and puns the fellas would come up with. Trevor knows his business (as do Rene and Jordan) and wishes nothing more than to 'sell motorcycling' to you and make you the best and safest rider you can be. Ten out of ten would recommend :)
Great school with amazing staff. The instructors commitment and passion to the sport really comes through in their teaching. As someone with little experience beforehand, I left the course feeling confident but very aware that I will never stop learning. Trevor and Daynon were fantastic, patient and understanding when things took a little longer to learn. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who wants to learn how to ride and be safe and happy doing it. By the end of the course you truly feel like you've become part of a family.
Great course and dedicated instructors all capped off with a mind bending road ride. And I learned a new word; 'squid'. If you don't want to be one take this course!
Would you rather wear a name tag on your helmet and get "taught" by car guys in a parking lot, or would you rather go here and get taught by experienced instructors who know your name from the first day? I signed up because I thought it would teach me how to ride a motorcycle, but it was quite different than that. I felt bad after the first day because I was terrible all of the exercises, but on the second day the chief instructor Trevor told everyone something that stuck with me - the point of the course is not become perfect at everything, but rather to develop an internal coach to set riders up to continue learning and improving well after the course is completed. This meant that the very detailed feedback I was given every single day allowed me to recognize and work on problems in my riding without needing to hear it from the instructors. Although I didn't finish the course as a confident rider, I finished the course as a confident learner thanks to the constant feedback and support from the instructors. They truly want all of the students to succeed. Even after graduating from the course I was welcomed by an extensive alumni group willing to chaperone new riders and offer plenty of advice.
This Sport is fun, but also has its risks. Trevor and the crew go to great lengths to teach you how to mitigate the risks and ensure that you continue to enjoy your rides safely.
Want to learn to ride?.... Then do yourself a favor and go with the BEST!! I had a bad experience many years ago when a "friend" put me on a bike in a back alley and said, "here's the clutch, gas, break and gear shifter. Now go!" It ended with me cat-walking the bike into a fence. That was my only motorcycle driving experience. Trevor has put together an incredibly valuable experience for anyone; regardless of whether you have never been on a motorcycle to those wanting to refresh or enhance their skills. I've been a passenger for many years, but wanted to ride my own bike. When I committed to learn properly, I checked out lots of schools and chose "Too Cool" because of their experience and I liked the emphasis on safe riding and their healthy respect for the bike and the sport. While there is a very scheduled, progressive and defined curriculum, you are taught and encouraged in the way you need. The instructors are patient, acting as teacher, coach and occasionally cheerleader. Trevor, Rene, Jay and Brent will teach you things that most other schools don't touch on; but they have expectations of you as well. Be on time, pay attention, have fun, and most of all TRUST AND JUST DO WHAT THEY SAY. They will not let you fail if you come prepared to learn. They won't tolerate anyone goofing around or showing off and jeopardizing their own or anyone else's safety. Too Cool is super organized. There are lots of bikes available in a variety of sizes and styles and all are great working order. All helmets, boots, and gloves are quality, organized and sanitized DAILY. Every minute of your day is spent learning, and the drills runs like clockwork. They make learning fun, and while I was exhausted at the end of each day I was also so exhilarated because my skills and confidence were growing exponentially. I chose the Gold course and the end of the week culminated in an exciting 3 hour road ride in and around Calgary. We were on residential streets, main roadways, freeways and highways, going from 5km/hr to 100km/hr. Our class consisted of 12 students ranging in age from 16 to 60 with a ratio of 1:4 instructors to students. Students bond, and are incredibly supportive of each other, friendships are forged. I had purchased a bike before I went to the class and was nervous about the transition because it is a big powerful bike. The guys knew this and gently pushed me, all the while giving me the skills and confidence to know exactly what to do when it came to safely move up from 250cc to 1130cc. After class was completed I got on my own bike in a large open parking lot and I put my training to work. I was able to safely and easily run through the drills I had been taught in class. It made the transition easy and I was confident with my ability to handle the much bigger bike. Take a look at the class photos and check out the smiles. You can't fake that kind of "Happy" Worth every minute and every cent!! Way "TOO COOL"
I signed up earlier this year, As COVID-19 happened i was was rescheduled twice and i stayed and did not ask for my refund. As rescheduling had opened up, the dates that where offered did not work with my schedule as they were to far down the year. I contacted them multiple times and they take a while to respond and ultimately when i was able to reach them, they were lecturing me about they don't appreciate that that schedule does not work for me and that i should TAKE MY MONEY AT A LOSE CUZ THEY DIDNT WANT TO GIVE ME CREDIT NOR ACCOMMODATE. I WAITED FOR 3 MONTHS TO LOSE MY MONEY.
I Just finished the gold course and it was amazing!! I have never touched a bike before taking this course and after just 4 days I feel very confident on a motorcycle. Trevor and Rene are very knowledgeable, patient, funny and overall amazing instructors. Thanks to Too Cool Motorcycle School I am very excited to start my motorcycling career!
The instruction given was exceptional and very interactive. Overall the school is extremely well designed to give you the confidence to go from zero experience to riding in 4 days.
What an incredible experience!! Not only were they fun and encouraging, but they are fantastic riders and skilled coaches. I now feel like I have the skills to hit the road and to ride for life safely. I would highly recommend them for anyone looking to ride or improve their skills!!!!
It seems a bit strange that you have to have a drivers licence to learn to ride a bike. This makes it impossible for me to use this service.
I have a mixed review about TooCool. My personal experience with them was generally good, and my progress over the four days was excellent. I think Renee specifically, always seemed to have good intuition for what errors I was making and how I should correct them. I feel that the course made me a much safer and more confident driver. One negative I had personally was being told that as a female, I was not to push my bike back in place and instead had to stand and watch the men do it for me. My major critique is that I feel that the course is not suitable for anyone that has not had some previous experience on the bike. My friend took the course with me and took the pre-requisite of being able to balance on a pedal bike very seriously. She spent many hours doing the prep work as requested by TooCool. However, at the end of the first day, she was asked not to attend the following days of the course since she was not successful at shifting gears on her first lap around the parking lot. I was disappointed to find this out, as this course was advertised for beginners and being told you are not able to continue is a very big blow to someone who is trying to do the right thing and learn how to ride a bike safely. As they were not willing to give her a refund or transfer her money to a future class, she was left with the option of either paying more money to another more suitable for beginners course, or trying to learn on her own in a less safe environment.
I can't speak highly enough about this school. Trevor, Lanchi and Daynon were fantastic. The course is thorough, and they really take the time to make you feel comfortable on a motorcycle (which can be intimidating!). Their focus on safety is outstanding - they really want their students to be safe and have a long career on two wheels. Their adaptive teaching style is what I really admired - if something wasn't clicking they would switch gears and ask you you try something else. They always offer constructive criticism while building your confidence. My only suggestion for this course is to get your students to use their turn signals more frequently. If you've never been a bike before, becoming familiar with turning them on, canceling them and remembering to do so may seem simple, but it takes some time to get used to. This is also something that dings a lot of riders on their road exam!
This course is a finely tuned machine, which offers perfect ratios of instruction/practice time, class size/instructors, feedback/encouragement, laughs/serious safety tips. It's clear that the instructors love what they do, and I was astounded by how quickly they were able to turn a class of beginners into twelve confident, road-safe riders. Simply put, this is one of the best educational experiences I've ever had on any subject (including high school, technical school and university). Thanks, Too Cool, you really lived up to your name.
THE MOST INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! These folks go above and beyond and personalize the experience! I thought I was just going to learn to ride but I left with so much more! It was a motivational class and boosts ones confidence so much! Strongly advice everyone to take more than one of their programs! Thoroughly impressed and I came with major hurdles with Severe C-Ptsd and through the Silver class and the guidance of Trevor and Danon I was successful! Huge Thanks
What an amazing experience learning how to ride with TooCool!! I waited 31 years too long to get on a bike because of nerves and fear but Trevor and his team put all those fears to rest!! I absolutely loved the course! They teach you what you need to know to be as safe as humanly possible on the road without taking the fun out of riding! Had I taken this course in my younger years I would have gotten a bike much sooner! Thank you to Trevor and Danen as well as a special thanks to Lanchi! While you're learning how to ride, Lanchi is diligently working in the background to make sure everything is ready for the next day! Such ana amazing team overall, I would not change anything! Can't wait for that track to open so I can learn some more advanced maneuvers! Thanks TooCool!! Let's ride sometime!!
This was the worst experience of my life. Trevor the head guy claims to care about so much about students learning to ride: states he will be out there on weekends, or in the rain whatever it takes. Yet when I couldn't keep up to speed in the first class, he kicked me out. Now they say there are no refunds, and I can't come back until I go learn how to ride a motorcycle. Funny that it was a beginners class I was registered in. So basically I paid them $700 for 4 hours of riding a motorcycle. That's a pretty expensive ride. If I was you, I would go somewhere else to take classes.
This is the best motorcycle gear you’ll ever spend money on. Go in ready to learn come out ready to ride - that’s cheesy as hell ????. If/when they offer courses that builds on the first program - I’d do it in a heartbeat. I can still hear my instructors giving me cues every time I get on the bike, I hope they know how much I appreciate that. Communication/logistics with M.O.M. is easy - I asked a bunch of questions, asked for a reschedule then asked some more questions. And then the community they have keeps giving long after you’ve finished the course.
This is a really awesome place to start your learning. Trevor and Daynon were really friendly and cool. I had some problems with processing the information and they had no issues explaining the same things again and again. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Took a weeknight course ( Monday - Thursday) and it was definitely worth every single penny. Trevor, Jordan and Rene are great teachers and after just four nights on the bike, I feel much more confident in my abilities, but more importantly I know how and what I need to improve to make me a better and safer rider. If you want to start riding, don't even think about it - just give these guys a call.
Excellent motorcycle safety school. Very professional and personal instructors. Lot's of experience here. The training lot is on a slight hill, which is excellent so you can learn how to start on a hill. Trevor, Rene, Brent and Dayn are fantastic instructors. Very patient and understanding. They always made me and my wife feel welcome and encouraged us. Thumbs up! Another thing I would like to mention is that this motorcycle school supports you after the course, which is very important. E.g. They have a special Facebook group were you can hook up with other riders and graduates who already have the license, so you can train and keep in touch. They also organize family and group rides. This is very valuable.
I took the motorcycle training course with my wife four years ago. I had my class 6 at the time . My wife didn't and had tried two other schools previously with limited success. I felt I should take the course with her so I could see how she was taught so when we went out riding I wasn't going to give her advice contrary to her training. It was a very good experience. The communication was off the charts good, the instructors broke down the exercises into manageable parts. They were awesome at putting the students at ease while maintaining a strong safety focus . The jokes were a little corny. I learned quite a bit there on some of the safety basics and other stuff that you can have a tendency to forget a bit over time. Highly recommend this school.
Must be a great company. They payed for my coffee at the Tim Hortons drive through. Canadians rock
Everything you learn at Too Cool is designed to make you a better rider, by being a safer rider. The instructors are very passionate and about as knowledgeable as is humanly possible. Too Cool did not just change how I ride, but it changed my mindset around riding. I cannot recommend enough this school, the love for the sport here is contagious.
I attended Too Cool, and I attended SAIT's motorcycle school. SAIT is a much better motorcycle school.
If you are planning on getting your Motorcycle license, you must take this course with Too Cool Motorcycle School....very impressed with the training and can"t imagine attempting to ride without the the Too Cool Motorcycle school experience. Thank you.
Amazing , involved , passionate instructors. Always open to questions no matter how trivial. So much love for the sport and for teaching others to love motorcycles. I learned so much and am so grateful to have gone to their program that I followed it up with their dirtbiking weekend course that was smaller in class size but just as passionate and informative
Took the basic course and the test prep course a few weeks ago. I know your looking at the price and saying their expensive i totally agree but they say you get what you pay for, i do not know about any other schools because i've never been to any other but i can assure if you go to this school you wont regret a cent of your dollar. You'll have 3 instructors that are very patient, humble and willing to help you be the best riders you can be. They don't rush you and they pay detail attention to each individual and give you advises on how to correct your mistakes even if you didn't get it the first time they'll still go over it with you again and again again until you get it. If you listen and do exactly as they tell you, you will pass your road test hence why i passed, my sheet wasn't a 100% clean and its totally my fault why it wasn't as we're only humans we make mistakes and we ain't perfect and it doesn't have to be but the cleaner the better as said before if you apply what they teach you when your doing your road-test you will get your class 6 license and start having fun.BIG thanks to BRENT RENEE TREVOR & LANCHI
The best introductory experience to motorcycling. The method of teaching used here is refined and through this, the entire class and myself were able to catch on to the concepts very quickly. Furthermore, the community this school has built has created lasting impact on myself and on a lot of Albertan riders as well.
Very happy that I decided to take this course. I just took it last week and highly recommend it! They will explain in detail what you need to do with the bike. And if you missed something, there is no need to ask. They will show you how to do it with their bikes as soon as they finish each verbal explanation. Another reason... it is so much fun! From getting to know the controls of the bike in day 1, to ride it up to the speed limit in the highway in day 4... WITH CONFIDENCE! They are committed to teach you, and have the ability to find cool approaches/tricks to improve your riding as the course goes on. And if you don't know yet what kind of motorcycle fits you better, you will also get a better idea after trying the different bikes that they got. Thumbs up for TCMS!
Excellent training, extremely professional and fantastic value for money. I had a great time and learned a huge amount. I highly recommend Too Cool for anyone interested in riding a motorbike.
I really enjoyed the course! I found the instructors to be very knowledgable and really took the time to work with each student. They definitely have their system down which makes each lesson grow to the next. I would definitely recommend anyone wanting to learn how to operate a motorcycle that they enroll in these classes.
An absolutely amazing experience. With the Covid shutdown, my course had to be postponed and Lanchi did an amazing job of organizing the new dates and times to accommodate my work and life schedule. Thank you to all the instructors for teaching me. The way they teach and educate is so great and they make sure you feel 100% safe and secure. Equipment is clean and supplied to everyone, everything is new and high-end. I spoke to a friend who took a motorcycle course through a different company and hearing the differences made me so happy that I chose Too Cool. Even if you don't want to own a motorcycle, take this course to be a better driver on the road. So fun and I'll never forget the people or the experience.
Come with a good attitude and a willingness to learn, the instructors and staff will take care of the rest. Staff were professional and the time and resources put into their training was obvious. The progression of the course is well thought out. Each day of my course presented a new set of achievable challenges and even though I had never touched a bike before, I left feeling confident on a bike. Given my positive experience with Too Cool this is the only school I would trust to get friends or family on the road safely.
I took the course they put on and found it to be exceptional. I learned a lot of skills that will stick with me for the rest of my riding career as long as I practice them diligently as the Head Instructor Trevor Dech suggests. Practice makes Perfect !! Highly recommend this School to any new rider out there whether you have experience or not I guarantee you, you will learn something for the rest of your life from here !!
The Best customer Service ever. These guys are amazing and they actually Care
Top tier motorcycle school! Really welcoming and knowledgeable family. I waited 5 (or is it 6?) years to take the course as I was saving up my pennies and I don't regret choosing Too Cool at all. The reason why I held out so long for TCMS is because they offer the most hours on bike and they provide all the gear you'll need to start riding (just make sure to be wearing jeans). If you're a petite person, no worries, they've got Honda Groms for you to ride. My friend who's 5'1 took the course with me and she was able to easily plant her feet on the ground so there's definitely a bike for you in their large fleet for you to learn on! If you have any concerns, fears, questions, or etc to ask before taking the course, Lanchi is going to be the one to help you. She's honestly the best. She responds to all emails quickly and is really understanding and patient. If you're lucky, she'll join you on your road ride. :) Trev, Rene, and Daynon are really supportive and knowledgeable instructors. It's astounding how much growth you make in the duration of the course. No matter if you drop a bike, stall out a million times, need to size up or down your gear, or you expect yourself to be perfect and are hard on yourself when you don't do as well as you expect of yourself, the Too Cool team has your back. Everyone is so excited to see you and the crazy thing is that they memorize everyone's name the first day of class! Very down to earth people who genuinely love what they do and only want to see you succeed. There were a few people who dropped their bike in class and the instructors would rush over to make sure the rider was ok. It's obvious that the TCMS team's priority is you. They were never harsh on any students or reamed people out for accidentally dropping the bike. All the instructors are adaptable, understanding, intuitive, and most of all, supportive. I'm honestly so grateful for everything they've taught me and I'm glad I went to them to learn how to ride a motorcycle. TL;DR - Pros: all gear is provided (just make sure to wear jeans), instructors that are kind, supportive, and prioritize your learning and safety, a lot of hours on the bikes, nice selection of different bikes to learn on, bikes available for people who are shorter, you won't be the only woman in the class!, on graduation day, you get a sweet swag bag filled with coupons and discounts at different motorcycle shops and whatnot to get you riding, and lastly, dad jokes. Cons: Dad jokes.
Initially, I was quite unsure of myself on a motorcycle. I had limited experience beforehand and it was nerve-wracking. Safe to say, Too Cool alleviated my stress! They are incredibly professional and evidently passionate about their work. The course is a high-paced environment, but the preparatory materials, such as the videos, are effective. The instructors genuinely care about what they teach and safety is always at the forefront of their lessons. The course is incredibly effective at providing quality skills to novice riders. On the road ride, I felt confident with everything I learned during the course and plan to get a motorcycle in the spring so my girlfriend and I can ride together. This course is worth every dollar and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in motorcycles, veteran or beginner! Thank you! Ethan Baker
I recently finished the basic course, taught by Trevor and Daynon. They are both excellent instructors, knowledgeable, and very easy to get along with. The course offers several different styles of bikes to ride, so you can get a feel for what you may want to purchase. They manage to fit a lot of great riding skills into the time you have. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to learn to be a better rider.
If u have never been on a bike this amazing team will teach the skills needed and give u the confidence to ride safe and have a blast. From "frc to push steering, shiftin, riding gear, bike select. Best motorcycle course u can take in Calgary for the knowledge and confidence received there course is a he'll of a good deal worth every cent!
I had the pleasure of taking the intro course from Trevor, Renee and Jack in September of 2019! They are excellent instructors that keep things entertaining with solid jokes and have the patience of saints. During the course they focused on breaking my bad habits (had dirt bikes as a teenager and various scooters/bikes living overseas in my 20s) to give me the confidence to ride a proper bike on Canadian highways! I would highly recommend this course to new riders, and even more so to returning riders.
Hi, I literally just completed the basic course today. I have nothing but great things to say about this. The instructor's were amazing and patient with everyone and adapted great to how everyone was learning. I hadn't been on a bike, be it motorized or pedal in years and the instructors kept it at such a pace that you were never in over your head. The well placed humor and time to take a moment to understand and relax was perfect. Whether you have no knowledge or maybe some, i would highly recommend taking the time to meet this crew and learn something you may not have known before. Lastly i got to ride a few different bikes and ones i never thought i would enjoy. Turns out i was proved pleasantly wrong. Give this a shot and enjoy awesome instuctors, fun bikes and an awesome experience! Thank you Too Cool!
These guys are awesome! They make it so easy to learn to ride and they have a great deal of patience for beginner riders. Do as they say and you'll be riding in no time. They encourage you to be a better rider and allow you to try on different motorcycles so that you find one that is best suited for you. I highly recommend Too Cool for your motorcycle lessons, may that be as a beginner, veteran rider wanting to refresh their riding skill or even for the other riding courses that they offer. I'm really glad to be a part of their nearly 30000 alumni.
Fantastic and beyond excellent service and value. Trevor and Lanchi run a loving and personal business. I felt personally cared for, Lanchi was very kind to me and Trevor called me by name from the first time I came onto the lot. I received excellent, personalized instruction that helped me to build confidence and operate a motorcycle safely. There is a tremendous amount of passion and respect that you won't find anywhere else. I was originally terrified to even ride a motorcycle but now I feel confident that I can be a safer driver and rider.
I took this course a year ago. The information presented valuable. The sessions appeared to be memorized scripts. Bike handling skills good. But I would go else where if you are a woman learning to ride. I think they left out a valuable skill...how to right your bike if it falls. My husband said they will laugh at that. Just one more example of how this course is geared more towards men.
Can't even describe the professionalism of this team. They made learning fun! Thanks TCMS for the amazing experience.
Awesome experience. Trevor and Rene were very skilled and knowledgeable and made learning to ride a motorcycle a great experience.
Good Experience overall, especially getting tutored by individuals with wide hands-on ranging experiences goes a long way to Trusting and Believing. Many Thank to Too Cool!
I had the pleasure of attending their course in April 2019. First off Trevor and Rene are AWESOME!! Everyday we were all greeted with smiles and positive attitudes. Trevor and Rene have a great way of teaching that makes each day of learning a lot of fun! These two guys are truly passionate about the sport and are two Amazing human beings in my book! There are a variety of bikes to choose from and I suggest you try different bikes. It gives you a good understanding on how different bikes handle, rider comfort, and it's just fun! As for the curriculum you learn everything you need to start a safe and enjoyable career as motorcycle enthusiast. You will feel so much more confident and safe riding after you complete their course. Plus, you become part of their big family! Thank You Trevor, Rene, and Lanchi! I had a Great Time in your course and look forward to riding with you in the future!!
Amazing course. Trevor and his team have a gift when it comes to teaching. Rare to meet people who are so genuine and care about each student. Tons of 1 on 1 tailored instruction. Don't hesitate, book it. Top shelf.
The people that facilitate the course are amzing and are very well balanced with their approach to teaching the class. Full of fun, challenges that make you a better rider, and a mix of comedy that you rarely see. The attention to detail really makes you learn at a fast pace. I cannot believe they run the class with such positive attitude. There communication style is very good. Just amazing. Highly recommend. -Scooter
Fun loving. easy going. Comfortable environment. Made it easy to learn and all together too cool
Amazing instructors, great information, knowledgeable with experience. Covid made classroom learning an online thing now but still fantastic. Can't say enough good things about these guys.
Honestly, the best out of the best. If you are thinking about getting into riding, come here. Not only get you ready for your license, but also prepare you for your lifelong career. In Addition, if you have NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AT ALL like MYSELF, go for the GOLD COURSE. That ride with Trev will change yourlife
I was very hesitant to start riding a motorcycle. I've wanted to start for a long time but didn't really know how to start. Finding this school was amazing, not only for giving me the confidence to get on a bike and get on the road for my first time, but also for giving my life long habits and training exercises so I can make myself a better rider every time I go out on a bike. I may be new to the sport, but I can't think of a better way to start than too cool! I really recommend them.
Instructors are amazing, and the course will set you up to be a safe and proficient rider for life. I cannot stress enough how impressed I am with Too Cool Motorcycle School. The growth and confidence of each new rider was astounding, and it is truly testament to how well their new to riding course is. Would highly recommend attending.
So glad I took this course. Taught me some amazing skills and how to respect the machine and the sport. Loved how much time we spent on the bikes and the skill practicing. Wasn't easy but the instructors Trevor and Daynon were always so encouraging and patient. Despite teaching so more classes they remained enthusiastic and excited to teach us. Really appreciated the last day and getting the opportunity to ride some other bikes to get an ideal of the different styles etc.
Excellent training. Really enjoy how they treat each person like an individual and not like like an invoice. They are very good at involving each person in the lesson. Highly recommend - glad I chose the best.
