Was there September 23 at 11 am we were helped by the only man working there I believe he helped my son and I find the hockey equipment we needed and he was truly amazing he didn’t stop looking around the shop until we found the right stuff my son needed :) Wish I knew his name he was the definition of customer service!!!!

I have to agree with the previous review. Skate sharpening times are outrageous as they only have one guy and he is busy waxing snowboards and skis. I Get its high season for boards however only one guy to do it all seems a bit odd. Just found out the Canadian tire sharpens skates across the parking lot

It’s good to have a sport check in a small community. The store itself is smaller than in the city, but carries a fair selection of most items.

I just moved back to Cochrane and I have been in this store twice. I understand the staff is young but they have not been trained on customer service. I went in for shoes and not one person could be found to help. All the employees were hiding in corners talking to friends. One employee who I asked to use the fitting room blatantly ignored me when I asked for help and walked in the opposite direction….she also said they, “turn a blind eye” and don’t count items before people use the fitting room. I won’t be back, which is too bad because I probably would have spent money!!

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We travelled a long way from Winnipeg and forgot some essentials for our snowboarding experience. The staff in the hardware goods shop were nice enough to quickly teach me how to scrap the wax off my boards. We got a great deal on a few winter jackets and a couple pairs of ski/board goggles that were on sale. This is the way customer service should be!

I went into the store to purchase a pair of shoes and after waiting for about 30 mins without any employees asking me if I needed assistance I went up to the cashier till and when he asked if I found everything alright I said no and told him what had happened he then said that you can go to Calgary. I just thought that it was rude (by the way lots of people don't what to go into big city's such as Calgary because of covid)

Really disappointed with the customer service today. Sinead was awesome and was looking in the back for something we really needed. They closed at 7:00 and we were in there until about 7:05, we apologized for being in the store when they were trying to close. One lady (looked like the manager) had short hair with glasses and glared at us the whole time, the cashier Stephanie (I believe that was her name) was rude and when I apologized she said nothing and rolled her eyes right to my face. The manager stood there crossed arms and glared even longer lol. I understand I was still in the store 5 minutes after, but I also work customer service and I will always allow people to buy things if I haven't started my closing duties. It is the employee's job to provide great customer service especially in a smaller area like Cochrane. I would never, and have NEVER acted that way to a single customer or client.

Sorry, im not one for reviews but this is absolutely pathetic. Best day outside today for hockey and im being told theres a 4 day wait to get skates sharpened. But no ones doing a damn thing behind the counter. Buddy, it takes 5 minutes to sharpen a pair of skates. Pitter patter bud.

The service department here is terrible. Went for a skate sharpen Monday and they told me they could not get it done until Thursday. Asked if they would guarantee my Thursday time and was told yes and given a claim tag for that date. When I went back the manager told me skate sharpens are first come first serve and they would not honor their previous arrangement. Now skates wont be sharpened until Friday. 3 trips to a store for a 5 minute job is completely unacceptable. Get your products serviced elsewhere.

Comparing this sport check to several others I have been to. Staff and management are prickly. Longest wait ever for skate sharpens. Often does not have products in the season that the product is being used. Ex. could not find swimsuits in size in July. Might as well drive to Calgary for your sporting good needs.

Went in looking for good shoes and I'm on my feet alot for work and walk everywhere . Staff was very patient and helpful in helping me find a perfect pair even though I was difficult and took awhile to decide and special ordering them in color I needed for work. Staff was amazing huge selection. Also bought a backpack perfect for my needs has special spot for shoes on bottom and laptop pouch inside. If your looking on shopping here the staff are amazing help. It has Been 8 months since I've had my shoes, I wear them everyday at work I'm one my feet all day never gst to sit down. They are getting worn out balls of my feet which are almost holes now. I bought these shoes hoping I didnt have to buy another pair for quite sometime I am disappointed they didnt last longer but they were comfortable and good for time being.

I Needed to find ski boots and a ski helmet for my daughter Cochrane sport check had a good selection and great service , the fellow behind the ski counter was amazing , very knowledgeable , he helped point us in the right direction and took a long time helping us even though it wasn’t a huge sale . I really appreciate the friendly small town service.
