Love this range!

Rude staff, especially the young guy

Tanya Guay

Long time patron of this place, drove the 45 minutes to shoot something I had anticipated shooting for a while but work too often. They decided to close the rifle range an hour early. I know management won’t care, but I’m disappointed and with the other people still shooting in the rifle range, they should have taken my our $80 and let me shoot my 20 cartridges. Very big bummer. 0️⃣

These guys have been an awesome resource over the years. I really enjoy shooting here and I purchase 99% of my firearms from Phoenix. The staff are great and really knowledgable. They make you feel comfortable and at home, both on the range and in the shop. I love the fact that the owner invests resources into making this facility top notch. You'd be hard pressed to find a more professional group of people or a range of this quality to shoot at. I highly recommend Phoenix if you love to shoot.

I was there with my girlfriend last Sunday, and I'm glad we went. A little pricy, but that's what you get when you don't have your Restricted and Non-restricted License lol. Still had a Blast though... Really cool staff and knowledgeable, very professional by the way. Wouldn't mind taking courses from them, that's for sure. Thank you Pheonix Run Gage.????

im giving this place one start because the building is nice but anything outside of that isnt worth going there for. this i like about this place are, 1.inside range 2. great range setup 3.clean 4. very safe now on to the bad, 1. staff, the staff here are the worst people to deal with, i have a memeber ship but i refuse to go there any more because i always leave in such a bad mood, even the over all feeling of being in there is unwelcoming. 2. asking person questions, ie why i have a disability parking pass, and running out of the store to question me over it.. ITS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. 3. Feels like a big cash grab, 4. even after ammo was inspected to have a guy not even working the range come and ask to see it for no random reason to show so other guy. 5. they dont know how to tell the time, says pause 3 sec between each shot, which i have done but yet i get told to wait longer and threaten to be kicked out if i do it on my count. 3 SEC IS 3 SECONDS , SIMPLE AS THAT. 6. feeling like the staff always tring to belittle you in front of your guest or in front of other people in the store. 7. treat you like you are stupid and never used a firearms before. 8. staff on a power trip 9. over all atmosphere of the place. 10. attitude, staff here walk around like they a king s#It, , news flash get over yourself your a range officer/sales person, so drop the attitude your not a police officer and your not on a military base. 11. very expensive thats pretty much all i can think about at the time, you dont have to take my word for it though go check for yourself. my recommendations for this place though is training for staff because if another place opens like this one all they will have todo is treat costumers with respect and make them feel welcome instead of making them feeling unwelcome and stupid,, and phoenix would be out of business in no time.

Took my restricted firearms coarse through pheonix. Was told it was a 7 hour coarse. It ended up being almost 11 hours before I got out. I have several friends who took the same coarse elsewhere and they finished in 6 to 7 hours. Would never recommend Pheonix to anyone.

Today was a super experience thanks to Graham at the Phoenix gun shop. I am new to the firearm community, and purchased my first range membership, and firearm today. Graham was very helpful and professional during the whole purchase process. He took the time to show me the products I was interested in, and made the process very smooth and informative. I went in a bit of a nervous, new customer, and was treated with nothing but the best customer experience, and professionalism through the whole process. The experience has left me feeling that Phoenix has earned another lifetime customer from me, and I look forward to some range time here when things return to normal. Really happy with the service, and staff. Thanks for making this new purchase and experience for me, a great one!

Very detailed when it comes to safety awesome atmosphere easy to learn how to shoot all different types of guns

They keep the guns in good shape, they seemed to take safety quite seriously but... We dealt with an old guy with glasses, he was rude as hell. My friend and I wanted to go shooting. It was a friday night with a few people around. We don't have our own guns and had to rent some. The old guy asked my friend if he wanted to shoot at the pistol bay and with all the shots going off in the range my friend had a hard time hearing him. The old man repeated himself and he said it in the most condescending tone. It all went downhill from there. At one point he even said to me "are you deaf?" with the most sarcastic smile.(I was talking to someone else, and he was talking to my friend). At one point I wanted to return the guns, get my refund, complain, then leave. My friend convinced me to stay though. There was also another group of younger people whom he treated equally as bad, they had a group of about 8 people and I was halfway through my bullets before they even got on the range. Apparently, we found out later that he doesn't usually work in that area, which explains a lot. I think he deals with the sales area. Anyway, I'm pretty sure they get a lot of complaints about this guy. One thing is for sure, if I ever go to Phoenix again, I will refuse to deal with this man. When someone pays $80 to shoot a few bullets and use your guns, that's just not how you treat them. Also, $24 for using the range is way too much.

Len and the boys run a great shop. Loads of knowledge and for the size of the shop has a pile of gun stuff and if they don't have it, they can order it in for you! Range is great place to shoot and take friends shooting on -40C days. It's always clean and ready to go. I've been a member for the last 10 years and I've never had any issues with anybody who works there, I guess that's the reason I'm still a member. Gun prices are good and if your member at the club you get a discount as well. I've bought 90% of the guns I own from Phoenix and I will continue to do so. * * * * * * Six stars if I could leave it! These people are very kind and well informed and stay current in the market, if you go to this shop you will be surprised at how friendly and helpful that they really are, they have a great store and are willing to go the extra mile to help you out, I have been doing my shopping there for all things that go bang since I transferred here from Calgary and even if you are the kind of person that likes to tell stories they will listen, the advice is great and their knowledge cannot be disputed, Just a all round great bunch of guys and if the counter person is busy you still will not wait very long to be greeted in a friendly manner, The place is like Candy Land

Core Sk

Good ol' boys, know their stuff, friendly but gun safety is still top of mind!

Rafael Valdez

I’ve had plenty of good experiences at this range. I don’t go very often but I’ve met some very enthusiastic and friendly staff members here.

Justin Ormel

Great staff, great atmosphere, and great advice. Highly recommended if you are new to firearms. They wont sell you junk!

Nick McQuik

Excellent service, instructions & cost GCS

Immanuel Garcera

Website and google page say they close at 10. I walked in at 8:55 and he told me last walk-in is at 9. I told him it was 8:55 and he still wouldn't let me shoot.

Chad N.

Phoenix is the best indoor range in edmonton .The staff are really helpful and friendly.I went for first time and it was awesome experience and specially thanks to Karim , who gave me lots of information about indoor range , how handle gun first time and how use properly .I wish I can give you guys a 10 star but unfortunately only 5 are available now .

James Smyth

Staff was good, the target system is very good, it is digital and you can punch in your distance. Ammo is cheaper than other ranges in the city and you can bring your own. Only improvement I suggest is to increase the lighting on the pistol range, I found it dark.

Lewis Mafu

Stan Dworkowski

Just did my PAL and R-PAL through these guys and it was an informative fun course! Glad I attended and worth the wait. I had John as an instructor, he was friendly and had a good sense of humour.

Luke

Ammo is pricey, but man is it a fun experience

Greg Hutton

I've been here a few times, loved the experience.

Scott S

One of the best places to shoot in the city. Staff are friendly and professional.

Eleanor Johnson

Very cool, very fun. I shot a 50 caliber Desert Magnum.

Cory Bacon

great place to shoot.

Tom Schwirtz

Went to Phoenix today for a team building event and everyone had a ton of fun. Thanks to Dylan, Ryan, Ariel and Braeden for their hospitality, patience and knowledge!

The Gaming Leprechaun

Good place for practice.

Barry McCokiner (kernalfubar)

Wow! This is an incredible range and store. I was very impressed with the selection of firearms and accessories. We were treated like royalty! Len took the time to show us some great handguns, and also show us the pistol range. Wish we were from Edmonton, so we could frequent this range. Next time we are up we will most definitely make some time to come shoot. Drop in rates are VERY reasonable!

Ean McDonald

I had a great time. The staff were very informative and knowledgeable. I will definitely be going back.

Karlos Chan

Nice and warm in the winter

Trevor L.

Fantastic staff! Super patient and encouraging.. This was my first time shooting and they made it a great experience

Fraser Hiebert

It was so much fun! You spend more than average but you get what you pay for. The staff were great guys to work with and a lot of fun. Went for my friends Bachelor party and really enjoyed. Definitely will go again.

Great range.

I have bought a couple of handguns and a bunch of little odds and ends there over the years. I bought all my ammo there as they have great membership pricing until i started loading my own ammo. While using the handgun range on a busy day I accidentally knocked an earplug out as I can’t wear muffs. After a quick failed attempt to get it back in I tried to exit the live range to deal with it and had a staff member actually kick the door closed on me and lean into the door and hold it shut like a child so i couldn’t exit because he was talking to someone on the other side of the door about the diagrams hanging on the wall. I showed him i had no hearing protection in he just shrugged his shoulders and continued to hold the door shut. After struggling with it i managed to get the ear plug back in. Got one heck of a ringing ear out of that one. When i was leaving that staff member got quite rude with me about it. Never again Phoenix range. You,ve lost a member and customer.

Foonus

Great experience here at the firing range. Nice selection of firearms and cool staff.

If your looking for insightful advice and in depth knowledge I would not go here. I have had nothing but issues with the shop since purchasing a pistol from them. After purchasing a pistol that out of the box did not work (not their fault) I called them for information on the warranty. They instructed me to reach out to the manufacturer with no additional info on a department or contact point. It turns out there is a 3rd party, unlisted company that handles all the warranty work for this brand in Canada. This cost me $40 in long distance to the states with the company to find out. I subsequently ask them about shipping for the warranty work. They informed me they do not handle anything with warranty including shipping back to the manufacturer, which I understand, but still would hope for a retailer to stand behind their product a little more and at least cover shipping on brand new firearms. Following all of this I call to order extra magazines from them. The magazines are apparently special order and extremely hard to get, which was never stated when purchasing the pistol and would definitely be one factor in decision making. I ask them to price out the two mags and let me know when they will get them in. After calling back 4 times without them returning the call over 2 weeks, they apparently got them in. When I go to pick them up after being specific the exact ones I need they are the wrong magazines. I will now be ordering from another vendor. I will never buy another product from this store, even though they are my local and nearest gun shop. I'd advise you to shop elsewhere if you desire competent staff and have the option.

Motoschnitzel

Awesome indoor range. Extremely friendly and very knowledgable staff. Went there when I was a young kid with my dad, and I'll continue to keep going. Very wide selection of handguns and carbines that are available to rent. Ammo is a bit expensive, but its well worth it. If youre of a mindset of disliking the sport of shooting in any form, this isnt the place for you, obviously. All in all, theyve made a life-long customer out of me.

Camille Grant

Dressed as pirates on an epic Adventure Hunt I had to fire a gun. Well, thankfully no employee was a pirate activist, otherwise I'd have to make them walk the plank! But RRRR we were greeted kindly and were able to fire our round quickly and efficiently! Any one of them, I'd honour onto my crew!

Lee V

It was our first time here, me and my buddy were both excited as we never shot guns before, Range Instructor Alex was a beaut! Thank you for the experience ! Will be back soon! 10/10

Jordan K

Great place to shoot and purchase. The range guns are well maintain and actually cleaned in depth and the range guys are always ready to help. The service/purchase counter staff are really knowledgeable and are always happy to lend a hand, always had a positive experience at Phoenix. Would recommend to any level of shooter to check it out.

Alexandre Gowatzki

I have visited twice. The first time I was looking for Vortex Binoculars. Phoenix didn’t carry the Bino’s I researched. The retail employee gave me directions to Wildbird General Store that carried my bino’s. 2nd visit to Phoenix I took my my 6year old to shoot for her first time. I was looking to have her shoot a .22lr but smallest cal. They had was 9mm Carbine. She loved it she wants the exact rifle and setup for herself.

Spencer Poulette

Turns out I'm not to bad of a shot. Ain't no better place to find out if your a natural gunsmen than down here with the boys. Great times were had indeed by all. The desert eagle still by far best gun still to this day.

Dave Rowe

Great indoor range. Knowledgeable, friendly staff.

Shotel D

I buy every firearm I own from this shop due to the factthat their staff are friendly knowledgeable and they usually have all the platforms that are hard to find ! Also great lineup of mods and accessories and ammo . Highly recommended. Lifetime customer

Roadwarior2

My boyfriend and I wanted to experience it. We had a great time. It was quite amazing. Dan, the range officer was very great with us. He was patient teaching us how to use the firearm. It was such a great experience. We will be back.

Emily Law

I've used the range in the winter when it's too cold to use the outdoor range I'm a member with. Never had a problem with range use. The firearms store is a different story. It was my birthday on Friday. My fiancé and family my to pooled some funds so I could buy a new gun for my birthday. Figured I'd see what Phoenix has for ARs. They close today at 6. Went in at 5 and the displays were all closed and the gentleman standing at the counter unmediately glared at us as if us coming in was an inconvenience. Ignored me when I said hi then said "what can I do for ya bud?". I apologized saying I thought they'd closed at six. He explained that they were just getting ready to go home and they'd be gone right at six..... the store appeared to be completely closed save for the front door being unlocked.....this all an hour before they actually close. Nice to know how they feel about earning someone's business.... we felt uncomfortable as soon as we walked in and immediately left. Extremely disappointing.

Amy

I am a disabled shooter and have always found staff go out of their way to make your time enjoyable. Safety is their first concern while staff have good ideas and think "outside the box" to ensure your time there is fun. The building is wheelchair friendly with a Canadian Swinger lift to access the range.

Rob B

Staff are rude and think they know better than their customers. I went in a few months back with a very knowledgeable collector and they were extremely condescending to both of us. They will not be getting our business.

Erin McCormack

Poor experience overall with regard to customer service experience from the staff. I felt that they talked down to me as if I had no knowledge of my own, and they had a general "holier than thou" attitude towards me. The range was tidy and the people shooting around me were generally good people to shoot with, but I think the staff really sullied what could have been a great range.

Brooke Jesus

After a few visits I would rate the Range itself 3/5. Its a good range for pistols but lacks the distance needed to do anything with a scoped rifle aside from bore sight it.. shotguns are allowed but slugs only so no patterning those here either. I would rate the store 1/5, as others have mentioned in their reviews once you buy something there (even new in blister package) there is basically 0 WARRANTY. They will not refund your purchase on a defective product and in my experience literally turn your back to you as they tell you to take it somewhere else. Even if its something as simple as a defective magazine which to my experience P&D WILL replace on the spot. Several of the store staff members consider themselves "MMA Experts" however show none of the humility associated with the sport.

Clinton Sharp

I had another excellent buying experience at the Phoenix Indoor Range and Gun Shop today. I dropped in for a range session (I am a member) and as usual I perused the retail gun counter before heading into the range. One of the primary attractions of Phoenix for me, is the constant flow and sheer volume of factory new and consignment used firearms that pass through the cabinets. There is always something new to see and the ever-friendly and helpful staff are only too happy to show you their wares and answer any questions you might have. I was served today by Lyle, who showed me a few different handguns art my request, finally handing over an unfired, consignment HK45 pistol. Instant love, especially at the very reasonable asking price with Black Friday GST aĺso thrown in. So, sold on the spot! As alwa ys, I received terrific service from Lyle, who had a Reference Number for the transfer ready for me before I left and even helped me to my van with my gear ( I am disabled). Len (the owner) took the time to note my purchase and thank me for my patronage. I can't recommend Phoenix Indoor Range and Gun Shop enough. For shooter's, there is no better option for indoor practice in Edmonton during Winter. For firearms hobbyists, it is a great destination to peruse the cabinets and racks. In addition to the best selection of handguns in the city, they have one of the best displays of various "black guns" as well. To top it off, Len and his staff will take outstanding care of you whether you are a first-time shooter or a regular customer. Do yourself a favour and check them out!

Jc Labonte

well as noobs me and the wife joined the range after having bad experiences at WEM (you know the place). A young fella behind the counter put up with the bombardment of questions we threw at him. he was very patient and very helpful. The prices are fair and affordable. first time we went the range officer was friendly and helped us out immensely. we walked out feeling good and confident....except for the horrible aiming! anyways I hope this lasts because if it does we'll have a long, prosperous relationship with Phoenix Range.

Dan Duggal

Very helpful, patient staff, treated a new shooter extremely well, great expirence. Safety first, no hurry.

J Klassen

I am not impressed with this place. I have been to many gun stores and gun ranges and I have never been treated so poorly. They double charge if you use the pistol and rilfle range, which I think is unreasonable, and when I asked about it the staff member got confrontational, not very professional in my mind. The rifle range is 40 yards, has 4 shooter positions and is NOT worth $33.00. The pistol range is poorly lit and 20 yards, again NOT worth the price ($22.00). They were "kind enough" to only charge me $40.00 to use both. I regret giving them my money :( After I was done shooting in the over-priced gun range, I went to the shop and found an item I wanted to purchase, a different staff member snatched it out of my hands, and was more concerened about his battery than letting me examine the item to my satisfaction. Best part is, I was totally sold on the item until he snatched it out of my hands. He made me feel like I was a little kid playing, not an experienced gun owner shopping. I had a bad experience the previous time I was there but was willing to accept it as a one-off... but after how I was treated today, I decided to let ppl know that their motto isnt "SAFETY FIRST" its: "GIVE US YOUR MONEY AND GTFO!" I will not be returning to this range, and I encourage you to consider brining your business to a different club as well.

Matt S

Rude staff not helpful at all I was trying to buy .223 ammo for plinking and the guy kept repeating $1.50 a bullet was cheap and said he had a military back ground which made me think he was lying about his experience and had no idea what he was talking about . .223 for plinking I can get for around .58 cents a round from p&d . Also there prices are consistently more expensive then everywhere else . he also lied about the price of the ammo over the phone so I drove across the city to get cheap ammo that wasn't there when I arrived. Third and last experience ????.

craig Jan

Great place, great range. Tried out a few different guns shooting, they were helpful on what I was looking for. Gun shop, excellent service and helpful for every question I had. Buying a gun was easy with them, made sure I tried a few different ones before I purchased it. Been back multiple times to buy gear and accessories. Ordering parts and guns on the phone were nice and easy. Will continuing driving 3 hours one way to support this store. Great selection and helpful. Love coming here!

Best time and so much fun with family. My first time at a shooting range and would return for sure.

Drove into the city with my boy to order an AR receiver, and buy some odds and ends. Was "helped" by a guy there competely unable to function in a public environment. He couldn't answer what I would think are basic questions on ordering, and seemed unwilling to help at all. While there he dropped the F bomb a dozen times as he slammed binders around looking for thinks he claimed others moved, while flaunting around claims of illegal firearms (I'm no fan of firearm laws in Canada, but being anything less than the most responsible gun owner makes our community as a whole look bad). So we spent a total of 2 hours driving to and from and didn't leave with a single thing other than a lesson for my boy on how not to conduct himself in public. If I was the owner of this shop I'd be pissed he let a potential sale of of maybe $1.5-2k walkaway. I've been to this shop several times before and was always helped by another fellow who is an outstanding guy, so it's a little disappointing my son's first time there was sour. Will be travelling to reddeer next weekend to buy what I was after. Edit after owners response: the employee of yours I was referring has a jet black mustache. I came to your shop after spending at least a month deciding exactly what I wanted, was very well researched and prepared to make the investment. I had part #'s, manufacturers, and all specifics to offer. He almost immediately dismissed anything I had to say because I got my info from the internet. I could have easily ordered this stuff online, but wanted to spend my money closer to home. I've read other reviews since posting my original, it really seems common for your customers to be treated like trash.

Range always good and staff always super helpful!

Decided to take advantage of the rifle range to sight in a hunting rifle before season. The entire staff was extremely professional and helpful with any questions for a new customer. From a guy who doesn't leave reviews, would reccomend. Also for new optics they had a great stock

Excellent staff. Went the extra mile for me when showed up to shoot and my rifle wasn't working right.

I recently went in to chronograph my new 308 rifle with little knowledge in the actual procedure. A staff member (Dallas) provided excellent insight and knowledge. My experience was better than I could ask for. Will be returning!!

I came from Vancouver to visit friend of mine who is a member at this shoot range and he took me to this place, we had a terrible experience. Customer service skills is a BIG ZERO. we had issues with this older gentlemen who works there he's not a customer friendly at all. I wish for a refund.

Uilleand Nunnyer

Great place to do a little shooting. Can rent guns and ammo if you just want to give it a try. No courses required they will supervise and teach you what you need to know.

Knorth Creative

Great place to go for newer shooters. Staff are accommodating and rates are fair.

DrPsychedelic

Stopped by last week to talk to gun counter boys ,good experience as always. Had Len the owner show me the new renovations that are underway. Going to be a awesome place to shoot and shop for all your shooting ,hunting needs etc .Looking forward to the new handgun range for sure .Great team at Phoenix, glad to be a gold member .Thanks boys .

C D

I enjoy this range because it's close. It's a bit pricey for a full membership, I pay monthly which is easier to manage. So far the staff seems friendly, I usually don't talk to people. Would like the website updated with what they have for sale, they were doing it for a while but stopped, don't know why. I like seeing what they have for sale, absence of this feature is bothersome and discourages me from buying. 5 stars when they add this feature back.

Very good staff best indoor shooting range

RAJ SHETH

i was previously a member here, and would still be if i didnt work in fort mac currently. the range take saftey very seriously which is good. i dont like that they double charge for both ranges, for a member it makes no difference, but if you bring a guest it does. there is no priority given to members for range use, so on busy days friday night, weekends it could take forever to get into the range. i think that has changed recently with the addition of 3 members only bays. the store has a small but decent selection, the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly some in the cranky old guy sort of way, which i like. obviously other reviewers do not. (a little too sensitive to be in a gun shop maybe). the prices range from excellent to way expensive. i just bought a rifle that was 839, and is 1099 at wholesale and 1000 at P&D. i dont think id ever buy hand gun ammo there. hard to sell for average price when charging the range users double for the same thing. would never hesitate on firearms parts or accessories though.

ata mata

Great shooting range to say the least. The staff are very knowledgeable and having shot a few times, mostly at the shooting center at WEM, I've developed some bad habits. It's nice to learn a few more things from these guys. I like to bring new comers here to share in my love for this sport and I know they would be treated with the utmost care and given proper safety instructions and not to mention educated! I remember at the shooting center at WEM they just set you up at a booth, some guy looks over your shoulder and they let you do your thing! It's here where I feel safe my first timer friends can be safe knowing they've been briefed properly before shooting being taught proper techniques and procedures. IF YOU HAVE NEVER FIRED A GUN EVER, GO HERE AND BRING FRIENDS! The only downside is whenever I bring friends to location of the range they feel wiereded out because it's in a shady area out back of a few buildings. They always ask where we're going -- tisk tisk, no trust. P.S. Try to go early in the morning right when they open for they get quite busy during the day and especially during some special event days.

Tom Dienes

Great service. And knowledgeable staff.

This is no fun to post... I went in to this store as a new PAL holder, got registered as an associate member ($100+) and purchased a restricted firearm ($1000+). I left the store with a receipt that was put in my filing cabinet upon arriving home and waiting for notice from the RCMP that I could go acquire my newly purchased firearm. The next day I received the notice that I could go acquire my firearm and I headed in to the store with my ATT and PAL. Once at the store, I was asked for my receipt (stored back at home in my filing cabinet) and told I could not pick up my new firearm without presenting it. This is from the same salesman (Steve) who sold me the firearm the day before. Due to my support of Canada's firearm act/program, I asked as to what part of the act specified "receipts" as I hadn't seen any reference thus far. Steve then looked me straight in the eye and told me "it's not, it's just company policy". The serial number of the firearm is registered to my PAL and the particular ATT, that I had a physical copy of, with me. A receipt verifies nothing. I still don't understand even a sliver of sense to the policy. I called the Wild West Shooting centre and verified the redundancy of such a policy/that they don't waste people's time like that. I then asked if I could have the $100 back from my associate membership as I find serious issue/disagree with the "company policy". Steve (civilly, though very snide) refused to refund my membership, offered no other resolutions and made sure that Phoenix lost out on the thousands of dollars, now to be spent elsewhere. As I nodded in agreeing to disagree and walked out I heard laughter from behind me... Maybe it was something/someone else, but it felt like the "cool guy club" was laughing at a new person. Just an all around terrible way to end what was a good experience up until that point (Phoenix are bad, but other stores can actually be even worse). I believe in checks/balances and understand the nuance of operating a government regulated retailer - things still need to make sense. What happened today didn't protect anyone - it simply inconvenienced me and showed the less than adequate customer service skills of Phoenix. Maybe it was an ego thing? A lot of people are saying that about Phoenix. I should have done better research. I've been through pretty much every store that offers firearms around Edmonton this week; don't waste your time running around and just go to the Wild West Shooting Centre at the West Edmonton Mall. Getting treated fairly means a lot to me so that's who I'll give my money to now. To the owner: Len Kucey, you can call me if you want to whenever. No hard feelings. You have my cell phone number in your system. Good luck.

Came in with a bunch of guys for my surprise stag. Process was quick and easy. Had experts and rookies with us. Great selection of firearms, good range officers. It was a awesome way to spend several hours. Everyone had a great time. We will be back as it was awesome

Dean Miller

Everybody here is very helpful. At any given time, I never had to wait to utilize the range. Staff seems to have tons of information on hand when needed.

Our company booked a group range session for Sept 30, 7pm. One and half hour after store closing. Someone from our party called an hour prior and was told Phoenix canceled our booking. We were told the person taking our scheduled time made a mistake. The way I was raised if you make a commitment you make every attempt to keep your word. You should have had staff stay late to accommodate. This will get around within our organization.

Amazing service, loved every second in the shooting range. I will definitely be back, way better then west ed!

F Zubair

Experience like several other reviewers, very poor, unfriendly service from in-store staff, bordering on rude. Stood at counter for close to 10 mins while staff spoke amoungst themselves or took phone calls. Usually I am loathe to buy ammo from the big guys like Cabela’s but the guys at Phoenix have convinced me otherwise.

Quinn

Friendly knowledgeable staff, good selection of range weapons. Well put together range . Will be going again.

This place is great for both novice and experienced shooters! All of the staff are super patient and helpful. Will definitely be back.

pbergen007

I’ve been shooting here now for a year, super friendly staff at sales and the range staff are unbelievably helpful. I’m a vet and shoot a couple times a week, the staff always make me feel comfortable

Joe Rogan

The guys know their stuff here, from hand guns to shot guns to rifles . They are struck on the range and that's great !!

Ian V

We were doing Adventure Hunt and these guys gave us a WICKED deal. Going shooting? Go here. The staff is amazing!

Jenny F

Good day at the range. Pricing is pretty competitive!

Phoenix Gun Range is an Awesome Place to Improve Those Targeting Skills! Spent the Afternoon with my Sig Sauer P226 9mm & Sako 85 300 Win Mag! Finally got my 4X16X50 Vortex PST Rifle Scope Dialed & Zeroed In!

AhSam Kirk

Lukas and all the range staff were incredible my son hasnt stopped smiling and we left the range 6 hrs ago. Lukas was exceptional at making sure everyone was safe comfortable and confident. Thank you to everyone at Phoenix, what a fantastic afternoon!

I got an associate membership from a friendly young man. Then purchased my first handgun. The guy who helped me with the purchase was really great! He noted I live 400 km from the city. So instead of having to come back to pick up my gun as I expected. He got on the phone to the RCMP and got my purchase approve and got the paperwork so I could take it home right then. I really appreciate this great service. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the prices are great too.

Lucky Angel

My husband took me here for my birthday and I couldn’t say enough good things about my experience. They were extremely friendly and helpful. The employee who helped me was really good at showing me what to do like proper stance, how to hold the weapons and made sure I understood how to be safe.. I will absolutely return to Phoenix Gun Range.

The website does not allow you to purchase anything online. The inventory lists are out of date. Sales staff can be argumentative and the one that I dealt with had a bit of an attitude. I made a purchase simply because they were the only retailers with what I was looking for, and it was in stock. My ATT cleared very quickly, but when I emailed it to them I was told that they only ship on Fridays. About a week later my purchase was shipped. On a Thursday. I had to pay for shipping. I was expecting it to come through priority post or courier like everything else when I pay to ship. It was sent ground parcel, sank into a Covid-19 black hole in Montreal, and finally showed up 24 days later. I requested a refund for the shipping cost and received a rambling email full of excuses that I binned after figuring out that they were refusing, just taking their sweet time about getting to the point. Like the Friday-only shipping policy, I guess. I would not shop here again even if I could pick up at the store. It's very disappointing and a complete turnaround from my very first purchase there back in the mid-90's. If you want something that only Phoenix has in stock, call Wild West or any other Alberta retailer and order it in. It will be worth it just to avoid the frustration.

Best place to learn, shoot and buy guns in Edmonton.

Benjamin McMaster

As someone who uses firearms on a professional basis, going to this store and hearing them speak poorly of law-enforcement and military personnel is insulting. Being talked down to and told that my professional experience is not worth anything by a sales person who clearly had no knowledge of their product is worrisome to say the least. Seeing the way the staff treated other customers should have been a red flag and the horror stories from work buddies should have been heeded. Stay away unless you want poor service, sour attitudes, a disdain for those in uniform and downright dangerous advice. Tried giving them a second chance, first words out of the mouth of the guy behind the counter "shouldn't you be shoe shopping?" directed at my girlfriend, that sort of attitude about sums up the atmosphere of this boys only/friends of the owner/private club where no outsider is welcome and the customer comes behind their own ego. This is in addition to a stunning lack of familiarity with firearms and regulations. If you can't tell the difference between an AR and a shotgun, and don't realize one is restricted, why are you selling guns?

C Stella

Their selection of rifles is decent but not great, good selection of handguns though. Salesmen are knowledgeable and not pushy. The pistol range is really good with moveable targets out to 25 yrds, rifle range on the other hand is 40 yrd fixed so it is not good for much.

Geoff Krasowski

Went for the first time ever to shoot a few pistols and have to say I enjoyed myself immensely. Everyone I dealt with was great and quite friendly. I had Cody helping me and it was great. Really nice guy to work with and knowledgeable. He gave me a few tips and watched closely what I was doing. I appreciated the help and tips and have to say........I'm hooked! The price is a bit on the high side so its not an everyday thing to do but its lots of fun. I hope to go at least once a month. Would go more often if ammo and range fees were lower. Minimum to spend is over $60 so its definetly not cheap. I hope to purchase a pistol eventually maybe join as a member one day and save some money that way. Great thing though its expensive, you have the chance to try different pistols before you buy so you get a feel as to what you are comfortable with. Only 4 stars because of the cost involved. Will certainly be going again!

Jason Silliker

I’m new to fire arms and have decided to look at doing some hunting. I visited another fire arms retailer in Edmonton to make a purchase and asked for recommendations and was almost nearly ignored. Afterwards Phoenix was recommended to me. I headed to Phoenix and had the chance to deal with Bill and Kelly to purchase a new rifle. These guys are awesome! Extremely knowledgeable, understood I was new to the sport, and helped me make great purchase/choice. Furthermore, they told me if I had any issues of any kind, questions, or anything that I was unsure of, to not hesitate and give them a call or come down to the store. After the purchase I visited the range and had the same great level of service and professionalism. Not to mention the awesome camera system they have to view the targets from my smart phone. Phoenix well done and you guys have it “dialed in”! I highly recommend! After my experience I I see no need to visit another retailer in the business.

Alberta Bear

Lyle was a great help to me with the exchange of a defective product! The attitude of the guys at the sales desk is hit and miss sometimes. Today I was greeted with a rant about how helping people screws yourself over, which I found unprofessional. But again, fanstastic service from Lyle. I have confidence buying a firearm from these guys and knowing they will take care of me.

Sammy B

I am new to the sport, and very happy to have joined Phoenix as a member. The staff are extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and go out of their way to make this sport an extremely safe, and enjoyable outing. I have much to learn about the sport, but have hands down found the right place to learn.

Having a $210 Gift card for the passed 3 years, it was time to go and check this place out. Celebrating our 4 year wedding anniversary, Tricia and I went to bust some caps in some paper foo's! Great experience! Knowledgeable staff with Safety on their minds! Great gun selection and training! Gift card or not, I'll be coming back here!

Robert van Goethem

wow this was great what a way to spend a day .50 cal robocop gun is insane to shoot

Geovani Jakowatz

I went into the store as a first time customer from out of town and wasn't sure quite what to expect. There were two fellows working there as well as two other customers; whom I think may have been regulars. Anyways, I was completely welcomed into their conversations and I also had each and every question answered by people who clearly know what they are talking about. I purchased a few smaller items as well as a new rifle. I had no intention of buying a rifle when I went in but the price that it was offered at was just too good to pass up. I'm sure that a few people hmmmmed and hawwwwed over it and decided to think about; which really means they were asking the wife for permission, and they ended up missing out. I only wish the store and its employees were in southern Alberta.

Nicky Stokes

Good experience for a traveling person Good service by the staff

Great place. Guys were quite knowledgable and answered my questions and made the experience really fun for a noob like me

David Vanderelst

Great staff who will tell you everything you need to know and more if you are looking to purchase a gun. Great place to shoot also with a wide selection and reasonable prices compared to others!

Matt Bolen

Went tonight with one of my gfs, neither of us had even seen a gun before, let alone shot one. Everyone there was so nice. I half expected to get the ‘are you lost?’ look when we went in, but it was the complete opposite. And the guy who taught us how to shoot was honestly the best and even stayed 15 minutes after they closed so we could have more time. Five Smith & Westin revolvers out of five. 11/10 would recommend.

Dominic Cote

It was a really good overall experience! Alec helped us and taught us a lot about form - he made it super fun!

Mortimer Q-pencil (Shuzbutt)

Shout out to William for all his help with my wife and I getting our first fire arms. Supper friendly and helpful. Made for a great first time experience.

Cody Levinson

TOP NOTCH Me and the wife had a great experience at Phoenix the guys are over qualified and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to firearms excellent indoor range as Well if you're in the city Phoenix should be the first place you go if you want great gun sales and service

Jascha

I've been coming here for years and the staff and service is always a cut above the rest. They defiantly deserve your business folks. I put this shop in front of the "Big Box" stores hands down.

Brendon Nash

Excellent staff.

Peter Arcand

Tried to order thermold magazines for my firearm. Left my name to the counter personnel so they can call me once the thermold mags are available. Recieved call, told them that I can come on the Saturday. Went there on Saturday and was told to come back Monday to talk with the owner. At that point, I didn't even bothered, I felt like I just wasted my time driving there. Afterwards, I just bought the thermold mags elsewhere. Didn't want to waste my driving time and get told to come back another day. Will be weary of ordering from this place if this is going to be a frequent exprience. Aside from that, pistol gun range is good.

Vishal

I was having trouble with the eye relief with a scope I purchased awhile back. I have been to several brand name sporting good stores for their advice & assistance but after spending $$ I still was having the same problem.. Being new to the Edmonton & not knowing where to go to site in my rifle, I looked up the Phoenix Indoor range and I don't regret it at all. Their service was the best I have ever received. After talking with Dallas, who called in Cecil to confirm his theory, with in a very short time they had the problem solved. I also received some excellent shooting advice from both & in particular Dallas. I highly recommend the Phoenix Indoor Range. Thanks for the help

Marcel Camenzind

DO NOT get your gun license here. I have multiple friends who have gone else where and were in and out of their course within 8 hours, they had plenty of practice time with the guns as well. I did my course with 11 others and one instructor who spend a majority of the day rambling about pointless stories that were not necessary. We were only able to practice on three guns, and there were 5 total. By time we left it was 11 and a half hours of being there. Extremely unprofessional for something I am paying to have done.

Wyatt Derp

Great place, great staff, great prices! Just got my pal and wanted a range to learn at, staff made me feel welcome and were incredible helpful in the whole process of getting a membership and choosing the right firearm for my first one. Also I had shopped around for prices on firearms and by far Phoenix had beat everyone's prices easily and had a huge selection on hand. Can't say enough good about the team there, locally owned and operated as well! Also great discounts on everything as a member of the range! These are really great people that are passionate and enjoy what they do and want to make it a more educated and safer hobby/lifestyle and I appreciate that!

Krunky Munky

Great indoor shooting range. Very professional range officers. Karim is the best. He patiently helped me to set up ny newly bought riffle. Highly recommend.

The guys working there are all very helpful. Lots of room for an indoor range. Good selection to choose from. Highly recommend checking the place out.

Took my husband there for his birthday and we both had a blast. The staff were kind, patient, and knowlegable...and very attentive. They put us at ease and we'll definitely be back.

Poor Service requires a poor review. Took my son on his 13th birthday, July 24, as this was his only request for the day. Was met at the desk by an individual who immediately informed me they were expecting a few bachelor parties and the range was probably going to be full. I explained it was the only request my son had for his birthday and was asked to fill out the appropriate paperwork. After filling out the paperwork and waiting for 20 minutes was then informed that they couldn't help us that day. If we had a membership they may be able to. I have used this range several times. I am a big game outfitter in the area. I have taken clients there several times to site in rifles after they have arrived by air. The experience and the way were were treated on July 24th my business will no longer be going there. We were not looking for special treatment. But when we arrived the range was definitely not full, to be told if we had a membership it may change the process, and just the manner in which we were spoken to is unacceptable customer service. Believe me as an outfitter we know how to treat people or we would not be successful.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Excellent League Night held for IPSC, and one of the few places in the province that offer Black Badge certification. Love the new(ish) digital / upgraded shooting bays in the pistol range. Great selection on black guns and holsters / accessories. Arguably the best variety in the city for accessories and guns. 10/10

G Gelinas

A great facility and you can't beat the price!! If you are looking to sight in prior to the big game season this is the place to go to.

Johnny David

Friendly and helpful staff, always had good service and experiences here through purchasing and consigning firearms and optics.

Anthony D'Amore

Ammo prices are some of the best in the city and the staff always go out of their way to help you out with problems you may have

Kevin Ma

WOW! Took the boyz out for my brothers Bday. It was everyone’s first time and it was definitely a Great first experience. The guys at Phoenix Indoor Range really took good care of us. Everyone had a great time, can’t thank them enough for making our experience memorable. Thank you once again!

Martina Kelly

We've been there a couple times, entry includes use of their firearms and they provided a range safety officers/instructor to help me with the new shooters. They were helpful and professional and, although range ammo was expensive, you can use your own for your personal firearms. My family had a great time but it would be nice if they had a family discount/rate to make it a bit more affordable.

B J

Excellent staff at the range and counter. Prices are very fair for drop in shooting and courses are offered year round. If your looking to get in to shooting then this should be your first stop. The guys are very knowledgeable in all aspects of firearm handling and safety. Overall not a bad thing to say about going here.

wil c

Always like coming to talk to the guys always full of helpful hints on your next purchase or if your having problems with your own firearms

J Singh

I love this place! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They had precise answers to my questions about a rifle I wanted to buy, and then set me up with a rental of the same rifle, so I could put a few rounds down range, and see if I liked it! I had a blast, and yes, i ended up with a new rifle!

Bellal C

Surprised this place has customers

Martina Justin

By far the most friendly shop I've been too. Bought a couple of firearms today, with the help of Graham, I believe his name was. Very helpful, knowledgeable and especially kind. Allowed me to handle almost every gun in the store with no problem and hesitation, which I can't say about any of the other shops here in the city. They've also did a great job keeping stock of things that can't be normally found anywhere else during this pandemic. Prices from what I've noticed are also very competitive to other stores. I highly recommend checking this place before going to any other store. Keep up the awesome job guys!

David Christian Caretero

The Phoenix Indoor Range has an excellent 25-yard Pistol range with brand new firing bays and automated target deployment and retrieval systems. There is also a decent (but older) 40-yard Rifle range for sighting in rifle-calibre long guns. The Pro Shop has an extensive array of handguns, tactical-style carbines, and hunting rifles and shotguns along with the best selection of "tactical" accessories in Edmonton. The staff in the Pro Shop as well as the Range are first-class in every regard. The friendly Pro Shop staff have provided me with excellent advice and efficient service during multiple handgun, optics and accessories purchases as well as consignment sales. The Range staff have been consistently courteous and highly knowledgeable, with an appropriate focus on safety at all times. Having been a member at Phoenix for 4 years now, I can say with confidence that they are by far the better of the two indoor ranges in Edmonton. Prices are reasonable and the service is consistently excellent. As a military veteran myself, I have trouble reconciling the complaints about poor treatment of serving and retired military members that I have read in some of the other reviews here. If anything, my own experience at Phoenix has been the exact opposite: Len (the owner) and his staff redoubled their efforts to treat me well when they found out that I am a disabled veteran. Len has even gone so far as to order a new wheelchair lift for the main staircase to make access easier for mobility-challenged shooters. I suspect part of the problem is that "Army Guys" (and Girls) who are also "Gun Guys" (and Girls) expect to be treated with professional deference when it comes to their operation of hand-held weaponry. Unfortunately, the wearing of a uniform does not necessarily denote a high degree of skill at arms. Indeed, during my 32 years of infantry service I witnessed some very scary weapons handling amongst so-called armed professionals (including those who go armed on a daily basis)! The Phoenix staff have no way of knowing who does and does not have military firearms training, who amongst their military clients has received adequate training, the currency of said training, and so forth. The Range staff must ensure that all firers, regardless of stated previous experience, are safe to themselves and others. Once safe weapons manipulation and adherence to the Range Safety Rules have been demonstrated to the staff, the firer is afforded increased autonomy. This is precisely as it should be. Any soldier intimidated or offended by the "attitude" of the Phoenix staff needs to grow a thicker hide. Expect to be treated like everyone else until you demonstrate competence and become personally known to the staff.. Again, just as it should be. I have belonged to numerous indoor and outdoor ranges over the 40+ years that I've been shooting. Phoenix is one of the most consistently professional and courteous outfits that I have ever had the pleasure of being associated with. I frequently take new shooters and visitors to Edmonton there for an enjoyable afternoon of plinking and am always treated as though my business and satisfaction are important to the Owner and his Staff. All things considered, I give two thumbs way up for Phoenix Indoor Range and Gun Shop. Try them and you won't be disappointed!

Cody Smith

Jen Jones

Excellent gun range. Friendly staff. It is highly appreciated that they support the local shooting community by letting IPSC rent out their range for a day in the winter so we can shoot indoor matches. Thank you to everyone for letting us take over for the day!

Hlif .Thrainsdottir

Friendly people who are willing to take the time to answer all your questions

jack mariano

The guys at Phoenix are awesome and the facility is fantastic. Thanks again Ian, my son and I had a great afternoon.

J G

No option for zero stars. If you don't speak the same lingo as these guys, you will get ZERO respect. These guys would rather satisfy their own egos that help someone that needs help, hence the reason why they come into the store looking. Why so unkind??? Makes no SENSE!

Vern Hardie

Awesome staff, awesome range.

Adam Stevens

Gotten into the habit of spending a couple hours a week here. There usually seems to be an available lane for me on the rifle side. No complaints to speak of. Front end retail staff are friendly, and mostly the same can be said of the range counter. Just follow the rules and have a good time ????????

Cary McCullough

Recommend this facility.

Keiron Smith

Condescending staff, zero people skills. There are ways to communicate with people in a decent manner, and the employees at Pheonix Gun Range do not have those people skills.

Leah Saunders

Absolutely amazing, knowledgeable staff and lots to choose from, great place if you're a beginner or a pro :)

Bax Homestead

Really friendly staff, place is not perfect, but best in town, as far as im concerned

Dustin Leckey

Been to many shooting ranges in Alberta. Alec at Phoenix was amazing! Quick and to the point about safety and how to properly use the firearms. Introduced us to many techniques, and helped with what worked for us. Will definelty be recommending in the future and be back to fire some more rounds off. Thanks for the great experience Alec!

Venedim Reutov

Went with a friend - brought own guns. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Even without a firearms licence you are able to come shoot.

Dust 1

I had the most awesome service from the guys at Phoenix today. Dylan (range officer), Cec, and Mike, gave me serious no BS advice and helped me every step of the way with my purchase. I can't say too many good things about these guys. I am an inexperienced customer and they treated me with respect and took my questions seriously. I'm so happy with my purchase and knowing that the staff will be there to help as I learn more is reassuring. Go to Phoenix, buy stuff from them.

N Emo

I have alot of great experiences at Phoenix. I have been a customer and member for over 2 years now and have great time every time. The staff has always great with my wife and i, whether it was using the range or buying firearms, the guys always made is feel welcome. Prices are great especially having a gold membership. Keep up the good work guys.

Shane Paul

Great for pistol shooters. Lots of stations. Pretty much the only place in Edmonton where you can discharge a high power rifle. Limited space in the rifle bay so sometimes you need to wait for a bit to get in. Great to not have to leave town to check my rifle zero.

Polish Prince

Very nice shooting range for pistals. Good prices. Staff is awsome know there stuff. Help me every step of the way. Will be back and refer them to others.

Was there this past weekend for my first time and the was absolutely amazing! Great people and an even better owner. He took time out of his day to talk shop, guns and really show off his passion and knowledge. I will be back and highly recommend trying this place

gwill211

I had a great time at the range, big shout out to the members working october 16th, 2019 in the morning. Very professional & friendly, was my first time at this range. Will go again, had so much fun with my 308 i decided to buy extra rounds. Nothing left of the targets after 60 rounds. My shoulder is sore aha!

Randy Bokenfohr

Just picked up a Kriss Vector.45 cal , was a quick and easy process . Would highly recommend! I’ll be back

Robin Wyllie

Kind of a mixed bag. Have been a member here over a year. Some sales associates/range officers are very helpful and very friendly. Others seem nonplussed at your prescence and can be overbearing on the range. The pistol bays are very nice, and a joy to shoot in. The rifle side badly needs updating, seems to be set up exclusively for people to benchrest shoot. Not to mention the lack of a target retrieval system on the rifle side. It can be unnerving sometimes going downrange with others you dont know behind you. Now comes the safe debacle. I was very excited when I heard that pheonix was now carrying safes, because I like to support local businesses rather than big box stores. I was extra excited to find that the safes they were carrying were the ones I already had my eye one. I was ecstatic to find that they were a better price than any other place i had seen. The salesman walked me around the safes, let me take a look and was quite helpful. I organized 3 of my friends to come and help me put it in my truck and into my house as I don't expect the staff to do it. I arrived on a Sunday, as that was the day I could get the help. The same salesman that had helped me previous was there, and I told him I was ready to buy. He went off to talk to someone, not sure who, manager or senior salesperson I assume. He came back and informed me they could not spare the staff as they were quite busy. I told him that was quite alright, all I needed was to pay and be let in as I had brought the help with me. He left again, came back and informed me they didnt have the alarm code to get in so they could not sell me the safe on the weekend. He suggested I could come back during the week and do it then, but that does not work for my work schedule. I ended up going to a big box store the same day and getting a lesser safe for more money. I wont be purchasing anything else from them unfortunately. TL:DR - The pistol bays are good, rifle bays are lackluster, some staff is great others are not. They won't sell safes on weekends or make an effort to make it work for both parties. Still a member because they are the best indoor range in town, (out of two).

Justin Schroder

They lost my membership and said I had to pay again?? One of the staff was just a jerk too. Horrible experience I'm looking to find a better gun club. They threat army veteran like garbage...

Black Pearl

Was told that you need a gun license to use the range despite a radio ad and the website stating you were permitted to with out one.

Mark Campbell

Took the PAL and RPAL here. The course is very thorough ( long day ). Thankfully my instructor was a very interesting chap. Ebrahim has tons of firearm knowledge and is an excellent orator. He takes what is very dry content and keeps it interesting. Thank you Ebrahim.

Darren Cherneske

Good service , and indoor gun range , I can't complaint. Very good

Kyle McKeen

I went into this place and had a extremely fun time at their shooting range. They have both that and a gun shop which is extremely good. They teach going in to the fire range well, even if you are experienced and they are extremely nice in leaving you until you finish anything you have paid for. The only problem for me is the large cost, as well as the low amount of weapons they say you can use and sad ammo types like 9mm rifles and only 9mm M1911

Ry May

Edmonton Hero

Been a member for 2 Years. Love the range. Employees are friendly and knowledgable.

Steve S

Holy what a place! Way better service, way less money than WEM. And the providers R F*** awesome.

Mike Black

Horrible Costumer service! if you have no experience with guns! don't waste your time going to this place. I would never ever take friend of mine to do shooting in this freaking place ever again. Also I will never renew my membership with them . The staffs could be little more polite we their costumers.

Keith VanBeek

Alex Kashani

Good staff and nice selection of guns very professional

Daniel Lowe

Range guy just a bit of an unfriendly guy and really couldnt care less about sales! Actually encouragibg you to leave so he can go home so i did not spend a dollar and would not recommend to anyone unless you dont mind this sort of service! Oh and the selection of guns to shoot is average at best no automatics despite it beind advertised as such so yea nothing to get excited about! Avoid.

Levi Wall

Lots of selection, great staff and an excellent place to shoot

Clayton Smith

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Willing to answer any and all questions and keen to inform/instruct. Highly recommend this range for anyone, even newbies like myself.

AWESOME PLACE - MUST CHECK OUT! We found ourselves at the Phoenix pursuing an Adventure Hunt, task assigned: shoot at a shooting range. First of all, the guys working this place are amazing, super friendly and quick to acknowledge you. And that was before we explained why we were there. So big thumbs up for overall service. Once we explained our challenge, they gave us a wicked deal on top! But honestly, when looking at their prizes, these guys are fairly decent! We are tooootally planning another trip out their way, but this time to shoot more than one bullet! Awesome experience, amazing selection of firearms if you don’t have your own. All necessary safety measures included. The Range Officers know what they’re doing, and if it’s your first time, no worries they got your back & front covered (recoil risk)! And let’s not talk about your target choices! Seriously, go check it out for yourselves! The Tylers

Marc Waver

What an amazing experiance our time at Phoenix was today. Karim was exceptional he made us both feel very comfortable, was an excellent teacher and was a customer service legend. Would highly recommend this range to any one considering some target shooting.

Some of the older staff are just plain rude

This review is a bit of a mixed bag. After shopping around for a sako & a burris eliminator 3 I came to realize most shops have lazy sales people that arent friendly or who hate the eliminator scope. I won't support a shop like that. When I stopped in at phoenix this wasnt the case. William was able to show me alternative options and by the end of the visit I was confused on what scope I'd get but satisfied that whatever I decided that the purchase would be with phoenix and william. My gun and scope would have to be ordered in and would take a few weeks which I didnt mind. When it came time for my family to buy Phoenix wouldnt price match the gun. We couldnt even get a call back from our sales person after repeated attempts. I made sure to give the store every chance at taking my $5000 order and made sure they understood I'm ready to buy now but they wouldnt match the same price as cabelas on the gun. Instead of waiting a few weeks for the order at phoenix the gun, scope and accessories were picked up same day at cabelas. Its unfortunate a minor cost difference on the gun wasnt worth the rest of the sale for Phoenix. Seems like a weird way to do business.

Steven Zimmerman

Ellie Kucey

Fairly quiet fire arms range and store. Staff are knowledgeable and are local enthusiasts.

Dave Zmyndak

Great service, very knowledgable staff. They'll help you out if you're new to shooting without making you feel like an idiot. Great experience. My brother saved a lot of money buying a gun here rather than Cabela's.

Wilson Leung

First time I fired a hand gun. These guys were awesome. I was a little nervous but they walked me through every step. All I can say is WOW! Thanks guys. I will be back!!!

Roger Colantin

Crappy service and long wait times at the range

J Mansbridge

Go here to shoot my rifles at the indoor range. Prices for range guns and ammo are very high, as to be expected. Wish the range was bigger but it's good for an indoor range.

I came to shoot with my husband, it was my first time and the young guy at the counter was EXTREMELY rude and condescending. Spoke to me as though I was an idiot for not knowing guns at all. At one point, after we started shooting, he said to my husband "finally started to shoot like a man at the end there". I will not be coming back and as a first time gun user it's put a bad taste in my mouth for using guns a second time.

Great experience as always

A little to pricey, but during the winter it’s worth it to have an indoor range

Beautiful shop!

NITIN KUMAR

Pleasant people to deal with. Steve has helped me several times at the sales counter. He’s attentive and doesn’t mind a many borage of questions! Thx to all at Phoenix!

Great people, great selection.

Grant Strong

Always the cheapest for bulk ammo and most parts. Handguns are cheaper here too.

I actually think the shop half of the business is worth a 4 star on its own, but the indoor range is fairly lackluster compared to the outdoor ranges available in and around the Capital Region. My biggest gripe with it is that you're required to use more expensive soft-rounds and hollow points as opposed to the far cheaper FMJ ammunition. I understand their reasoning, but I can't help but think its just an excuse for them to sell you the more premium ammunition for favored plinkers like the SKS. As for the shop, it's great, even for a relatively small shop, they have quite a number of interesting pieces for sale, as well as some excellent deals on ammo. Also I once had a scope mounted there, but when they found out the scope was busted, they didn't charge me a penny. Definitely shop there, but if you're looking to do some heavy duty plinking or sighting in, skip the range.

Probably could be a good place but fairly unprofessional as they're not able to update the website on closures. Love wasting fuel and time and effort to go to the range to find out a posting on their door that their range is closed.

Most of the older male staff members on the gun counter seem quite rude and unpleasant to deal with. I try to avoid them when browing their selection of products. The range staff are usually more outgoing and friendly though.

My husband went in to Phoenix to ask questions about some firearms and the staff there treated him very poorly. I really dont like it when my huband doesnt get treated the way he deserves to be treated. What is the point of making your customers feel stupid and ashamed and embarrased for not knowing what you know. Really? Thats why customers ask questions!!! You're just gonna lose customers. You guys really don't get that? Not impressive.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff members. Kinda expensive but, better priced than the comparable. Range officer is patient in briefing newbies even though its tough to hear him when there's shots going off around us. Would reccomend for first time shooters and I might even become a regular shooter.

Can't say enough good things about this place. Super knowledgeable staff with zero pressure to sell. Took the time to show me certain firearms (I came back several times before buying) and each time they treated me like a valued customer and not someone who was wasting their time - despite me asking some really stupid questions. Cannot begin to say how much I appreciated that. Their folks back in the gun range were awesome also! Knowledgeable, patient and super friendly. Would HIGHLY recommend Phoenix!!

First time shooting at a range, also first time shooting a hand gun, the staff was very helpful in signing me up for my membership, it was a great environment and a hell of a time!

My boyfriend has been a member of this range for awhile and we will not be back. We were treated like garbage during our time there. My boyfriend has purchased a pistol and invited 2 of his friends to come out to Phoenix. (They are all in the military and have been for many years). I decided to sit this one out and watch them. I was disgusted by how unprofessional the Phoenix staff were; the counter guy particularly. He was talking bad about them and other customers in front of other staff members and customers; me included. Very rude. The range is nice and well taken care of; but the staff make it not enjoyable. At the gun shop side however; the staff on that side are very knowledgeable and helpful.
