I feel very comfortable in car lessons, made sure I was always ok, confident in me, and I always had the best time with him! If you can, definitely ask for him ;)!!

I registered my daughter for driving lessons at McKenna's on the advice of a friend. Our experience was excellent! The quality of the instruction in class (we had Todd who was fabulous) and on the road was unparalleled. The owner Jake is highly service oriented and made every effort to accommodate my daughter's complicated schedule and the issues around the pandemic. McKenna's may not be the least expensive driving school, but for something that involves developing life-long habits for a daily activity I don't want the cheapest: I want the best. McKenna's was worth every penny. Thanks Jake!

If you’re looking for affordable driving lessons and good quality training, then I would definitely recommend Mckenna Driving School. I was hesitant to pay the high premium for Young Drivers, so I looked into other options within the HRM. I took 2-3 driving lessons with Jake and around 6 lessons with Ron and always felt comfortable behind the wheel. Both Jake and Ron made the learning experience as easy as possible, and I actually looked forward to the lessons with them. We stuck to the road test area in Dartmouth so that I was familiar with the different test routes, and I passed my test on my first attempt (today!). Money well spent- thank you!!

I highly reccomend this driving school to people of all ages. Bill the in class instructor is so knowledgeable and makes learning fun. I had Andrew as an in car instructor and he made me in to a confident driver. I was so scared of driving before driving with Andrew. McKenna's Driving school equips you with everything that you need to know before driving and getting a license. The classes are very informative. Having the essential knowledge about day to day driving and the traffic laws is comforting when you act5ually apply it in real life. For my driving training, I had Mr. Bill as my instructor. He was very helpful and is a great mentor. He was very patient towards me, and is very eager to teach me which I appreciate highly. He was very punctual and professional as well. I highly recommend McKenna's driving school for those who want to learn about driving or get their license. I would also highly recommend to ask for Mr. Bill when in time for the driving training part. He is an overall great mentor that will teach you everything you need to know.

"Instructor" was texting on her phone during road time with student. Was rude and abrupt when asked for help. Didn't teach any road skills. Nothing. Contacted the school owner to discuss the horrible experience and was dismissed. We didn't even bother finishing the hours we paid for. Absolutely do NOT recommend this business. At all. (And I do not take negative reviews lightly. The business has made no attempts to get in touch after contacting them with our concerns. Terrible service on top of terrible instructor.)

McKenna’s Driving School was absolutely amazing to go to. Having Bill for a driving instructor was great! Everything he taught me was very clear and straight forward. Bill also has the best stickers on his car. I’d say if your looking for a driving school that you’d have a great time at a driving school, McKenna’s would definitely be the one

McKenna's Driving school was fantastic, the in classroom experience was great. It showed us the essentials we need to know to be a great driver. It also showed use small little things that help with your everyday driving. As for the Driving part I had Bill (Mr. Miyagi), Bill was a fantastic teacher and is very good at his it. Bill was very funny and great to talk to when doing your driving with him. Bill was very great at getting the hours in on time and on your schedule. I would highly recommend anyone wanting to do fantastic on there driving test to go to McKenna's Driving school because they are just great. I would also highly recommend Bill for your instructor so I would ask for Bill. Thank you again Bill for the great lessons, Young Grasshopper.

I would highly recommend McKenna’s driving school to any new drivers looking to get a feel for the road and learn everything you need to know for your road test. I would specifically recommend Bill as he is a very experienced teacher that shows the more common tips to driving, while also sharing some of his own tips and formulas that he has perfected over the years. Bill made sure I got all of my in car hours in before my road test even when he had a tight schedule and helped me stay comfortable and confident leading up to the test.

I had a super positive experience with this driving school. The staff are friendly, courteous and very welcoming. The driving instructor and inclass Teacher I had was named Todd. I highly recommend requesting for him if possible. He really knows how to teach his students. He creates a comfortable environment where you can learn at your own pace. I never felt rushed or stressed under his watch. Todd truly cares about his students and their unique learning styles. If you are looking for a driving school- definitely give this one a go! You will not be disappointed!.

I am so happy with my experience with McKenna's. In both the classroom and the car, they ensured that I was learning the essentials to defensive driving, but also gave so many extra tips about financing and car maintenance. I especially like Bill, the driving instructor. He was instrumental in me passing the course and getting my licence. He went above and beyond to accommodate me and my specific situation, and is such a nice, calming, and patient guy (key, I think, for a good in car experience haha). I would definitely recommend him and the driving school to any future students, well worth the price in my opinion.

Very patient and accommodating to your schedule. I had my licence from another country but had to re-do the test to get a Canadian license. Ron was my instructor. He was patient and friendly unlike other driving schools where the instructor can be very intimidating. Would definitely recommend!

This course was a last minute choice for me and I do not regret it. It was one of the cheaper driving courses and was totally worth it. It had a high rating for a reason, and it followed through. The only thing I would improve on is the communication between student and teacher/driving instructor about classes and lessons. That's it. Good job everybody. Keep it up.

Very disorganized, I can’t even begin to explain my frustration with this organization. I reached out several time to explain my dissatisfaction with their services. All I was ever offered is empty promises. Check out the other driving schools in the area, I’ve heard nothing but positive experiences from friends and family.

I can not say enough good things about this company. I had originally gone with a different school and struggled for almost a year trying to book driving hours. I contacted Mckenna's and had steady lessons with Ron for a couple of weeks and passed my road test. He was honest with my driving skills and truly wanted to see me succeed. I personally did my driving defensive course and my 10 hours with McKenna's. It was an awesome experience, and i recommend it to anyone looking for a good, informative class and a comfortable, learning environment for driving lessons. The lessons themselves we're great to attend. My class mates ranged in age, but there was nothing uncomfortable about it.Our teacher Bill was an absolute sweet heart. He tried to incorporate comedy and life experiences into his driving lessons. They have multiple driving instructors, but i personally got Jake which was great to work with. He was awesome about getting me out driving as much as i could, and offered to help me work on anything i was uncomfortable with. I was terrified when test time came, but i swear i wouldn't of passed without the helpful tips and advice they gave me. 100% Recommend this course to anyone and everyone

Super good experience! I drove with Ron for one lesson before my test as a warm up. He was a great teacher. Boosted my confidence and was very real! I walked into the car nervous but as soon as i started driving I felt super comfortable and confident. I left the lesson excited to take my test and get my drivers license. I passed the test two weeks later and felt super comfortable and capable. Would highly recommend to anyone. Great experience.

I would definitely recommend Mckenna's to anyone in need of a driving school. Having Bill as my driving instructor was so great and helpful. He gave me all the tips I needed. Although they teach you everything you need to pass your test, the extra things like going to halifax and learning to parallel park shows their dedication to creating good drivers.

Honestly, if I could give 6 stars I would. Bill helped me a tremendous amount and helped me pass my road test on my first try. I have been with other driving schools, but nobody gave me the confidence that I now have quite like Bill has; not to mention that he made the car rides enjoyable, instead of stressful. Ask for Bill as your driving instructor if you want to be taught by the master of driving. I can't find a reason why you wouldn't choose this driving school over other driving schools. If you want to pass the road test for sure, ask for Bill in class.

I went to the Halifax Mkenna's location. This location was new, and mine was the first class. There were some technical difficulties - the room was very hot, and there was a power outage. As for the actual driving lessons, I had Todd. He is very chill and calm, but a good teacher. He helps you feel really comfortable behind the wheel. He also bases each lesson on how comfortable you are and doesn't put you in situations before you're ready for them. He's very knowledgeable and easy to get along with. Once the classroom difficulties are worked out I would really give 5 stars !

I had an awesome experience! I had already done training with Young Drivers but had put off doing my test as I didn’t feel confident I would pass. I heard about McKennas from a coworker and looked them up. The prices were great and they were extremely flexible with working around my schedule. After my first session I was told I should book my road test right away. Kaylee was amazing and really helped give me the confidence I needed to do my test. Mckenna's is both an economical and high-quality driving school. I was originally going to choose a more expensive and well-known company but I'm glad that I did some research first and I don't regret my decision to drive with Mckenna's. Being a nervous driver kept me from pursuing a license in the past, but after taking lessons with Todd I managed a successful road test and, more importantly, I now feel much more comfortable behind the wheel.
