Worst experience. Worst teacher I've ever seen. She scolds and screams and tells you you'll fail. Doesn't know how to guide people who are already anxious about the driving test. Belittles people who came to you to learn driving and pass the road test. If anyone at all is planning on going for this I request you please please save yourselves before it's too late. Not only did I loose money I was extremely stressed out during the driving lessons. If there was an option for negative stars I would rate this driving school negative 1000000.

She explains all the reasons why driver should follow regarding aggressive increasing of speeds which will cause skidding during Black Ice. She demonstrated me about Blind Spot , how to make accurate parallel parking , how to keep car within middle of the lane bla bla bla. I strongly recommend her to be Safe Driving Instructor within greater Halifax. She cares about you becoming a safe driver, her focus is not on passing the test, it’s about you become a safe driver and knowing how to drive safe in all conditions.. She is also able to switch her teaching style, and adjust to your learning style. For me she realized I learn better by seeing her drive, showing me what I did wrong instead of me driving and she telling me. This helped me to really understand.. I did my training initially with a different driving school however could not make it in the road test in lower Sackville despite driving car for more a decade and a half mainly because lot of things have not been told or sensitized. Now I decided to move to a another school, which is when I happened to know Susan. I did initial couple of classes but definitely advice going through a full course through with her. I did 4-5 hrs and she trained me on all I should know to drive a car all alone in Halifax. I had a learner's in Ontario which expired, so I had to redo my theoretical exam and road test here in Nova Scotia. I was very nervous as I hadn't driven in a long time, but Susan put me at ease with her easy-going attitude and constructive criticism. I had about 5 lessons before attempted my road test, and thanks to the mock tests we did, I had no trouble passing the test! I just wanted to take. a moment and give Susan the credit she deserves, but also help others like me succeed. I was in a car accident at a young age and I was sure that I would never drive much, especially in cities or highway. I would like to share my experience with the The First Step Driving School and my driving instructor Susan. I came from Ontario a few weeks ago and it was hard to find an instructor who focuses on your success. Instead, I encountered private businesses which were focusing on the profit of the company. When I came to Halifax, I stated browsing a driving school since I had almost zero experience. After reviewing several of them, my glance fell on the first step driving school because of so many good words spoken towards the instructor. My decision was a right one!
