I recently took the Air Brake Endorsement course through them, It was a great experience. I had Joe as my instructor he was thorough and made it easy to prepare for both the practical exam and the written exam at the registries. The in class portion of the school was great to see what the airbrake system is composed of and how it works. Joe has years of experience as a driver so he ads to the course content and makes it real with his experiences. When we went out to the truck I was prepared as he did several practice runs in the class before we went out to the actual truck. I got 100 % on both the practical exam and the exam through the registries! I wouldn't have received these marks and gained the required knowledge if it wasn't for Joe's awesome training techniques and preparing us for the written exam with the course content :) I highly recommend Cameron Driver Education and Joe specifically they are fantastic! The office staff was wonderful to set up the training and any other communications.

Cameron in my opinion has the best trainers with the relevant life experience and skills to teach newcomers to the industry. I completed my Class 1 training, MELT, road test, air brakes, etc., at Cameron Driver Education LTD, on March 3rd, 2021, and now I'm a Class 1 driver. And yes, I had a lot of fun with this course. As someone who's never driven a tractor-trailer before, learning an 18-speed transmission had it's moments of positives and negatives. Overall, though, if you're willing to learn, show drive and initiative, meet the timings/schedule and have a positive attitude, it's well worth it. As long as you're "trainable", then they'll work with you. They have an experienced staff that has a plethora of knowledge, and information, to share with potential Class 1 drivers. Also, the scheduling, timings, etc., were always texted long before the scheduled dates and timings. Bottom line, I'd recommend this Class 1 training company to anyone who's wanting to get properly trained into this industry. As you can see, they have a high rating for a reason. Thank you. From the moment I walked in the door to take my in-class training all day on Saturday, I met my instructor Harry who is fantastic and took his time to explain in detail the different the different systems that operate within the air brake environment and a multitude of other in class details. I was paired with what I considered a top-notch instructors like Robin & Buck as well as some great staff members like Jas & Prabh. Class Act Management! I came off the street to complete my training for a Class 3 licence and their staff worked with me and found me the best deal based on my experience driving large double axle trucks in the field. I am happy with my experience with Cameron even though something went wrong in my initial evaluation. But when I talked to management they quickly rectified the problem and went above and beyond! Their shop and trucks are top notch quality and their professionalism simply can't be beat. Cameron has helped me get my Class 3 for which I say Thank You.

The instructor that taught me was on his phone most of the time, its expensive and he told me I was ready for road test. I failed road test on things instructor never even mentioned to me. After failing I had to wait another 3 months to take road test, in which I was called at 4pm and expected to come in at 8am the next morning. I asked for a study guide to be sent to me and although I was told they would I never got it. My recommendation would be to watch free youtube videos instead of wasting money on training from (in my opinion) an unqualified teacher.

Amazing passed first try on my driving test!!! But honest if you are trying for you class1 please go to Cameron truck driving they help you out SO much as long as you have a good attitude... and also very accommodating I work on a farm so I have only 1-2 days off and that was no issue they got me through everything as scheduled baist on my days off. Yes, it did take me 4 months to finaly get to the testing so much long that it would have but I still was able to get a little extra help were THEY though I needed it.

They helped me brush up my knowledge and clean up my driving and backing skills and passed both tests. If you want to learn the right way to drive they are the ones to call.

Terrible terrible customer service. Called everyday for a week straight, with a reply of “we will call you back tomorrow with a schedule” every single time. Never received a call back and I’m just going to stop calling because of how frustrating it is to schedule 2 hours of driving practice. Also requested a receipt for a course 3 times and still have not received. Don’t waste your time, not worth it go somewhere else.

I should have posted this review sooner. I was having a hard time getting work. I qualified for funding and was recommended to go to Cameron. I noticed that some people were disappointed that all they were Taught was enough to pass the test. That's what I was taught and thankful for it. They are no different than other other school in that regards. Where Cameron sets itself apart is their understanding and patience. I have high anxiety and get in my head. Bernie and Ken and another gentleman. I forget his name. Were extra patient and understanding. It could not have been easy teaching me. They did a great job. I passed. No problem. I was also offered job placement and leads for good paying work. The first lead I received I applied for and have been working with the company for 7 months. As a mature student (I am in my mid-50's) I can honestly say, learning to drive a tractor trailer truck is the hardest thing I have ever done. The friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, and patient staff are second to none. As far as their instructors go I would recommend them as they are knowledgeable and easy to understand and work with. But as for the front office staff they were terrible with their communication, contacting or calling you/returning calls, scheduling training and overall difficult to work with and get information from. I had to constantly harass them to get my lessons booked that I had already paid for and it took over 2 and a half months to get 4 ( two hour each ) lessons completed.

Awesome instructors with lots of industry experience. Front office staff needs better communication considering each few hours of class/road/yard class is $500. For the amount of money my group (10) paid they need to be better at scheduling. It took way too long to finish the class 1 Melt (14 weeks) with only being scheduled 2 hours a week for some weeks- you honestly forgot some of the new driving skills you learnt a week before when it was only 2 hours a week. Recommend getting your class one somewhere else.

Booked and paid for an Air Brake course online. They then advised me that course was full and next open course was 11 days away (later I thought , was it really full???? or did they just not run it cause it wasn't full???) . I said, I cannot do the next open course account work. School said they would mail out a refund cheque (it is 2021, who uses cheques or postal anyway?). I asked just to credit my Visa. Three phone calls with promises and 30 days later, Nothing! Finally had to get Visa to cancel the charge. Called up another school in East End and got in with 1/2 day notice and joined a few students in a empty classroom.

Wasn't happy with the outcome. I was in a time crunch to complete before March 1st and they knew this . I Paid 1500 starter because I had some experance. They right off the bat wanted me to purchase 2500 class before I even started. You get graded on each driving session (A,B,C,C+, C++)and I felt they used this system to under grade me to make me spend more money for more driving hours at 150 an hr until they seem to have gotten enough money. They won't pass you unless you are all C++. Makes for a loophole to milk you for money. My instructor also was changed out mid way and the new guy was totally different from the origanal instructor, totally throwing me off . "Well every instructor is different" I was told. The instructors also took multiple smoke breaks on my time and I felt they were not even paying attention when I was doing my pretrip inspection and talking to other people with there back to me . I feel totally cheated. Also to book your road test it cost 250 to rent the truck on top of the 1500 or 2500 you already paid and they also push you to spend up to 500-700 total for "warm up time" prior to the actual testing. I was really hoping to make this new path in my life and I made the mistake of choosing the wrong company . Dont become like me.

Oh my God, I don't know how I can appreciate the instructors at Cameron driving school , they are owesame and they it all as they promised right from the beginning. I came here with out knowing the stick shift but they took their time to teach me till I got all I paid for. I never failed a single test till the end. My road test was perfect with 90%, I oy lost ten point where I stopped too Fer from the intersection and that was the only point I lost during my road test. I will recommend you take Cameron driving if you wants to become a class one driver. Your money will not go for a waste and they will you all that you need to pass your road test. I personally, appreciate their instructors for their patience and I strongly recommend them for you if you want to become a class 1 driver in Alberta and North America as whole.

On September 26, 2020, my coach and I had a language conflict. The coach’s name was Paul, one of the shareholders of the driving school. He asked me to do the truck reversing practice but did not determine the specific location of the reversing. One would let me reverse to one. When I performed this action, he immediately asked me to go to another place. The attitude was very unfriendly, and he said that if you do not do well, I will shoot you and kill you and this coach is reading books while teaching students to practice the car. I asked the driving school to change the coach but the driving school did not agree. I asked for a refund of the tuition fee. I exchanged a total of 3,000 but only refunded 1,000. I reserve the right to appeal.

These guys know their stuff, the instructor namely Jaspar and Amman are excellent and have the passion to teach. All around just a great place to take any sort of training. The skills they teach are a lot more than just shifting gears because let's be honest, any monkey can shift gears but it's all the little details they make sure to reinforce. I had a hard time doing the blind side and parallel parking but my instructor Jaspar and Amman gave me techniques to make it perfect. I just took this Air Brakes Course as I need it to complete my Class 2 license with Q endorsement for Air Brakes, even though our School Bus does not have Air Brakes, I'm required to know this stuff. I have to say Joe and his wife were amazing! We had hands on practical training and viewed some excellent videos! The practical test was done on the truck, we tested the Air supply, depressurized unit, repressurized, tested both Park and Service Brakes, adjusted the slack adjuster on a foundation brake, very thorough! New ownership and some hiccups. Instructors are doing their best to accommodate you. I was (un)fortunate enough to have to partake in the MELT program implemented by the government. Any complaints I would have should and will be geared towards transportation Alberta. I dealt with 4 of their instructors, all had different styles of teaching but they were also open to answer any questions. Unfortunately during my period they lost 2 of the instructors. Cameron driver did what they could despite my uneasy feelings after the fact. Not to their fault or the instructors(past and present) everyone seemed to buckle down and get me through the program. They have time slots as early as 6 AM and to as late as 10PM. A couple trucks need some TLC but they’re also teaching someone who has never seen a truck before to drive and shift. Overall good experience, I would recommend them. Big shout out to Bernie for taking the time and being an all around great guy. Cheers!

I have to say taking the MELT through Cameron Driver Education was an experience.. The instructors (Bernie & Robyn ) are very knowledgeable & kept things fun. The front end staff for the most part were easy to plan with but due to the distance I was travelling in it did make scheduling a bit of a challenge (and frustrating at times) but it all worked out in the wash.

I had fun. They were pleasant and patient They worked around my work schedule on short notice. The instructors are very knowledgeable. I am in the industry already and only did the shortened melt class that was half the time. I knew a lot of the material already and just asked questions to things I needed clarification on. There is lots of opportunity to get extra practice and repetition for pre trip, air brake test and coupling and uncoupling, backing up. The instructors want to make sure you are ready before they book you for the exam. if you expect them to spoon feed you everything(i don't think you should expect that from anyone.) If your going for class 1 make sure you have the initiative to study and learn on your own and than go to cameron and get things clarified. Otherwise they will probably assume you know.
