We were looking to switch to a new dentist so I called Mayflower when my daughter got a toothache, they got her in within a couple of hours and I was able to book cleanings for the next day and the root canal my daughter needs for the next week! I couldn’t believe it the place I was going was always weeks waiting! Everyone was friendly, it was clean and I like how the doors were closed and everyone was screened with temps taken before entering.

Absolutely disgusted with Mayflower Dental. Came in for a consultation Saturday for my wisdom teeth. Was told it would cost $70 and it was $130 for the consultation. I was also told I could be sedated, all 4 teeth would be removed at once and they did payment plans so I wouldn't have to pay anything upfront. Fast forward to today. I get to my appointment and I'm told that I can't be put to sleep because they'd have to refer me to the oral surgeon in Sydney River and that would take 2-3 weeks, they're only removing one tooth per appointment at $262 per tooth, and I'd have to pay upfront because they don't offer payment plans for this type of service. I was so excited to be pain free, only to pay $130 to have my time wasted.

Really had a previous bad experience with a Dentist ????. However after going to Mayflower Dental I’m not gonna wait until I have to get a tooth pulled. They have reinforced my faith in Dentists. It was awesome and those Folks know how to treat people. The work and atmosphere are excellent.

Staff very pleasant to deal with. I would suggest to have a portion of your counter lower for wheelchair users like myself and shorter people as I could not see anyone behind the fest since the counter is very high. It was very difficult to get anyone’s attention and I had to know on the side of the counter to get someone’s attention.

People at the front desk were friendly, dentist wasn’t he was a very condescending man. Charged me 117 dollars for a panoramic X-ray and emergency appointment, when I went for a referral to an oral surgeon which I was told would cost 50 dollars for the referral and 17 for the X-ray. The hygienist was really nice though. Hopefully I won’t have issues the next time I call to get the referral they said I had to call them for.

As a first time client our experience was outstanding. My very active and busy 4-year-old son was treated very well and kept entertained and comfortable throughout the experience which is not always easy. While it was dad's turn, our hygienist Callie was pleasant and ever efficient in doing cleanings on both of us. Finally Dr Baker was also a pleasure to deal with and took good care of us. We had a very good experience.

I have NEVER been to such a caring, un-judgemental team in my whole life. I went there for an emergency, and will have whole new mouth set of teeth, and there was no co-pay as I am low income. They are kind and thoughtful, always making sure that you are comfortable and not in any pain before proceeding most the time, unless its just not possible of course. Worst experience of my life. Dr baker had told me 2 years ago I needed a bridge done. When the tooth almost fell out I went in to get the "bridge" done, they put me with a different dentist which was DR CURTIS WHITE (without even asking or notifying me), I told him I needed the bridge done, he ran right over me in the office and said I couldn't get the bridge done that my only option was to rip it off and put "something" in its place. So he ripped the tooth out and threw a denture in and ran out of the room without explaining what anything was or how to take care of it or anything, they threw the denture case at me when I was out the door already. I didn't t even know I had a denture in until I got home. Was not sent out with anything, assembly line work, all they care about is getting your money! Went to a different dentist to get a second opinion and was told I got ripped off big time not only by the $1050 price but by the way it was done & handled. That I should had a bridge done there to begin with and the teeth beside the missing one are strong and healthy and there was no need of a denture. After calling the manager there she pretty much said I was lying and that she would refund the denture that I had returned to their office, only to find out a month later they STILL didn't refund it. I wouldn't send a dog here!!!!!

Politics is Business

Pathetic treatment. One of the worst experiences in my life. I am not sure if they are fishy or not but they are certainly incapable and non-professional. They will add to the issue and then continue gathering money by invoicing you and telling you additional issues. If you consult with another dentist (as I did), you will find that they are totally wrong. Stay away from them if you truly care about your money, pain and time.

Evey one told me that a root canal will hurt but this one didn't was very impressed with the turn out.. Even my dentist said that it might be sore when the numbing went away.it went away didn't feel a thing thank you very much greatfully appreciate it????

Absolutely terrible experience. I was in with a dentist that was younger, and seemed new because he kept running out the room to ask another dentist what to do and what to say, and this man told me that I had 3 really bad teeth, one of which was beyond saving, and two which could be saved with root canals and caps, or extracted as well; the tooth that was beyond saving was also infected, but he wanted to extract it, however, the freezing wouldn't work to the full extent because of the infection, so he was going to refer me to a dental surgeon, and didn't prescribe me antibiotics. Someone I know recommended I see a different dentist that has been in dentistry for years, which I did, where I found out two of my teeth were beyond saving, and one of the teeth the dentist at Mayflower Dental said had to get a root canal or extraction, could be filled. I literally could have lost another tooth that was capable of being saved simply with a filling. Very unprofessional and just an over-all bad experience. Do yourself a favor and don't go here.

Dr. Baker and his team have been providing excellent care for my family since we moved to Cape Breton several years ago. I highly recommend him for everyone. He and the hygienists put my young children at ease during routine cleanings and check ups beginning at age 1. When my 6 year old needed fillings for a couple cavities I was scared for her. On the day of her visit, Dr. Baker blew me away with his easy bedside manner and quick work. He was able to fix the problems (without using freezing) while keeping my child comfortable and engaged. The best part is she still looks forward to her dental visits. Today I attended an appointment with my Grandmother in law. Once again, I was able to witness Dr. Baker's professionalism and kindness. He went out of his way to address her concerns and she left feeling much better than she'd felt on the way in. Lastly, Dr. Baker recently referred me to Dr. Edwards for gum grafting. I was terrified but the entire procedure and recovery was better/easier than I'd anticipated/expected. I also appreciated being able to have the procedure done here in Sydney. I had no wait time before I was taken in for my scheduled appointment with Dr. Law and his wonderful Assistant. I was very surprised that she was able to find my previous records from years ago and she took the time to review them with me for any current changes. Dr. Law carefully reviewed my x-rays and quickly determined what my issue was. His Assistant explained it to me in ‘layman’s’ terms, demonstrating with pictures. I have been ill for so long that I can’t explain how appreciative I am to have someone finally locate the possible problem and offer a possible solution.

They have a bad habit of billing the customer and then also billing their plan provider. Essentially getting paid TWICE for every transaction. As crooked as crooked gets.

When I moved here I went to the dentist and the Dr was Dr Baker he is the best so when he left glace-bay and went to mayflower I followed didn't want a different dentist I wanted him he is such a caring man and Wanda she cleans my teeth she is also awesome and I only want her no one else these two are amazing❤️

My back tooth broke off while eating popcorn.. n I called to see if I could get in if there was a cancelation. N there was 2 days later. Dr Baker n I spoke about the issue n looked at xray n determined in my case it was best to remove it as it had been worked on a few times b4. So glad I got it removed so I don't have to worry about infection.. Dr Baker is a very knowlegable dentist . I'm glad he is my dentist because he is good to talk to about my dental issues and fixes them.

After getting my RCT done(two appointments), which went well. They told me cleaning and polishing needs to be done, after getting there for cleaning, it will take second appointment also, went to my second appointment for cleaning. Charged me $300 for less than 15 min treatment, they will keep billing you unnecessary by adding more issues. I felt it was a course!

My husband brought him today and we thought just getting him through the door would be considered a win. Not only did he get through the door, but he felt comfortable and welcome. Claener by sat. i was in alot of pain and it felt like i still had a piece of tooth in the gum so i phoned Mayflower Dental they gave me an appointment for monday when DR. My Dentist is Dr. Curtis White, I have been to see him a couple of times now and he listened to my problem, did a quick examination, confirmed the issue then he solved the problem all within 10 to 15 minutes. I was in and out of there within 30 minutes total, this guy, is not only very professional and knows what he is doing but he is also very time efficient. Had to get an infected tooth pulled. It was my first time seeing Dr White. He let me discuss my fears and concerns and then away we went. He probably had my tooth out in about 5 minutes extremely quick and effective best part no pain. His assistant Meghan(sp?) was also fantastic!! Highly recommended if you need a tooth pulled.

Staff were nice. However, nurse poked me about 6 times before she could get the proper IV into me for being put to sleep for my multiple teeth being pulled. The next day after recovering from the effects of anesthesia, I noticed they did an absolutely horrible job. Left about 3 pieces of tooth in my gums. Very unsatisfied and it was way overpriced for what I had done. I don't suggest coming here.

2 stars because the folks were nice enough..i was charged $68 for seeing the dentist for less than 2 minutes, less than 120 seconds - he couldn't do the repair - and for an xray which did not show the damage to my tooth. Biggest waste of $70 in my life.
