People that care about your family members.
Been my vet clinic for years and they have always been great
Amazing service. We got terrible news and the vet was very respectful and professional. She gave us time to take in the bad news.
Amazing service and care.
I made a call there a few days ago. They aren't taking any new clients right now, because they are short a vet, but the person on the phone went out of their way to see if my file for a rabbit I had neutered years ago was still there. It was, and they made a new file for my kitten. I only rated 4 stars, because I haven't actually been in there in years, so the service may have changed.
Olivers breathing soo not 2 shabby
Friendly knowledgeable staff, reasonable rates... Compassionate in all aspects, they treat you like family...
Just got off the phone with Summerside Animal hospital. I called to ask questions about my cat who needs dental work. We're low income so I was trying to get all my options. The receptionist was polite until she found out that I didn't have any money, then got extremely rude with me. Apparently you're not allowed to ask about specific costs. I called Kensington Vet after I spoke to Summerside and their receptionist was MUCH friendlier, and actually answered my questions without speaking condescendingly to me. I'll be switching where my pets go from now on.
Very knowledgeable and caring towards both pets and people. I can’t thank Dr. MacDonald enough for the incredible care she has given us all these years with many more to come. Highly recommend!
Always so great with my pets. I couldn't choose a better place to trust with my animals! Highly recommend the doctors and assistants here

Great service.. good people . Animal lovers for sure.
Nice people to work with. Cat don't like it since he got fixed and needled lol.
They are very nice.
Always get the best care for our animals!
Took our dog to the groomers located in the Animal Hospital Did a fantastic job.
They give your fur babies the absolute best care they can. Personable, efficient and kind. When we unfortunately had to say goodbye to our girl they were sympathetic, and kindly explained to us what to expect during and after the procedure. Since then we have gotten puppies, and decided since they were so excellent in their care for our sweet girl when we had to say goodbye, that we would be bringing our pups there for all their veterinary needs. Their care has been absolutely wonderful, you can tell that each and every one of them cares deeply for your animals wellbeing. I feel comfort in knowing that they make sure our puppies feel safe and comfortable in an area that could otherwise feel scary and confusing for them. When we went to pick up our male from getting fixed we found him snoozing peacefully in the receptionists lap. He had gotten nervous waking up in the kennel so they cuddled and comforted him until we were able to pick him up. Kudos to the amazing team at summerside animal hospital. You guys can have a difficult job at times, but you all deserve to know how appreciated you are for the work you do!!
Just installed some air conditioners to keep our pets cool during this heat wave
They take the best care of Kitty and 'lil Nipper
Not set up very good for our animal care
My daughters precious cat that was only 1 year old definitely did not receive good care here, they neglected to run tests that she desperately needed! This continued after many visits and continuing failing health. When we became desperate we called oleary hospital and they agreed to see her, upon arriving they knew right away that something was terribly wrong with our sweet Suzie, a simple xray revealed both her kidneys had cancerous tumors and because she was suffering so terribly she needed to be euthanized. This was very heartbreaking as they told us they should have seen the signs and because they didn't perform obvious tests, she was subjected to needless suffering! We will not be returning with any of our much loved pets to this hospital!!
They were great with my dog Dr.Hogan awesome
My friend went there for my pets and they were kind and cheaper
great service and friendly staff
My go to local vet. Pat and his team are pros.
Wonderful care from Dr. Bondt for our two labradoodles. One had a broken ankle operated in BC and needed prompt additional care for a complication which she arranged at the Atlantic Veterinary College. The other had two benign eyelid tumors which she removed with excellent results. I would trust her skill and judgment. My wife and I have greatly appreciated her kindness.
Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Dr. MacDonald is very knowledgeable and friendly.
The receptionists state their opinion as fact without checking and get quite rude when you get confused and try to clarify. I called in before purchasing my rats a few months ago, to make sure that my vet was willing to work with them before bringing them home. The receptionist spoke to a doctor, and let me know that they cant do anything to in depth like surgery etc but I could bring them in for examination/ other issues. Breathing issues are common in rats, and one of my boys is having some trouble breathing lately, almost certainly an Upper Respiratory Infection that needs some antibiotics. I called to try and get some info, and the first receptionist would only say that they will not deal with rats and will not be able to look at them or bring them in. I had to ask to speak to another receptionist eventually, who confirmed that they CAN examine rats, but dont have small enough doses for medicine, but that you can take a prescription to another vet for a dosage. I was asking if the vets here are capable of writing this prescription, I did not ask of they will write it, but if they are capable of doing this for rats. The receptionist refused to answer repeatedly, saying she cannot speak for the doctors. I understand that she cant confirm a prescription, but why cant she tell me if it is possible to get the prescription here, or if I should be taking the rats somewhere else to get a prescription written. She got ruder the more I tried to clarify or understand what they were saying. I hung up crying and my boy is still sick. Will be driving to Kensington from now on to avoid this place.. The doctors are kind when you can get passed the front desk
Very compassionate and professional.
Amazing service and compassionate staff
Most often I would score higher, but this visit I waited one full hour with my cat in the exam room. My appointment was at 4 pm. The doctor arrived in the room at 5 pm. Everyone was apologetic but I feel there was time to call me prior to let me know they were running late so I could have stayed home until close to the time they could see us. Or reschedule. When waiting a full hour in a small room your frustration builds and builds. It's hard to be kind after that. I did my best and I have a very good cat thankfully.
Extremely thorough exam on both of my dogs and very polite and efficient staff.Dogs were treated real well and no fear even after their shots which is great for 2 puppies.
Great service and staff. Our pet went willingly for his blood check, he liked the way he was treated. They are so good to follow up about our pet's health.
Saturday morning with a sick pup and Summerside Vet Clinic fit him into their busy schedule. They were amazing. Dr. Wheeler, was on that morning and figured out the problem quickly. The staff including Ashley were tip top and treated him like royalty. I was so very happy with the kindness and great staff. Our wolfhound got totally spoiled. Hats off to a great vet clinic. Thank you so very much.
Great thks
Would like to apologize to the staff for being rude on the phone the other day. I realize that you are busy and doing the best you can .Thank you for taking care of my dogs for 10+ years
Absolutely amazing place, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and very caring along with very affordable compared to some other local vet clinics
They were excellent with my Ms.Katie
Went to Barb Gilroy at Kensington and was treated horribly. She told the receptionist to tell me I needed a referral to the college which she could only give. Then the college told me I had to go back to her to get another referral. Went to Summerside animal hospital and they found the problem within the hour for a 20$ ultrasound and treated me with respect.
Would never take my fur babies anywhere else. Best animal hospital anywhere.
Always have great visits . Vet's are awesome
My dog passed in my arms on the way to the vet, so arriving there, she was gone. I walked in the doors, pleading for help in any way, and was told to put a mask on, despite the fact that my dog was deceased in my arms, regardless, I put my mask on. Frantic and obviously a mess, the vet comes out to tell me she’s gone and there’s nothing they could’ve done. I accept this unfortunate news and go into see her. I enter the room, she’s on the table, eyes still open, I fall to the floor, in hysterics. How can you ask someone to come say goodbye to their pet, and couldn’t even do me the decency of shutting her eyes? Literally, I had to close my deceased dogs eyes. Before I leave, the vet tech (who stood and watched me grieve, didn’t give me 5 minutes to myself to say goodbye to Scampers) relayed that she was going to do her paw prints that moment. Happy with this news, I confirm my address and expect to have them maybe Monday. Today rolls around, I call and confirm they’ve mailed the paw print, they had not, the reason: “the mailman hadn’t come yet and the mailbox is out of the way” which leads me to express my utter honesty on how I was not impressed with how un-empathetic and uncomfortable the entire situation was there on Saturday to which the person I’m on the phone with replies “well I was on vacation and you don’t have to be rude”. Long story short, I took it upon myself to go pick the paw print up because of my disgust with the customer service I’m enduring. As I walk into the clinic, they literally had the envelope sitting on the counter, no verbal interaction, but some serious hateful glares. I have never been so disgusted and displeased by people who call themselves animal lovers. Let alone the countless stories I’ve heard from many fellow pet owners who have been appalled at their customer service. Come to find out the receptionist I was speaking with on the phone has reached out to one of my co-workers to ask questions/talk about the interaction. Pretty sure this is against all confidentiality protocol and is not allowed. The WORST customer service I've ever experience in my entire life.
Very poor vets took a rabbit to be spayed cost us well over $200.they botched up the Sergey rabbit never ate or drink after the Sergey never gave the rabbit any pain relief until the following day when my wife took the rabbit back saying the rabbit was not eating or drinking and was grinding it teeth which are all signs it's in distress and pain, we took the rabbit back 3 more time each it getting worse not once did they do the most humane thing and but it out it misery after they botched the Sergey. Would never recommend any one taking there pets here. Now they want to charge us another $200 for pain relief after the rabbit died.
Because of a typo on my part, I had to edit this post and make a correction. Mostly, my experience with Summerside Animal Hospital has been great. Dr. Jane is amazing, not only in her care for my cats, but in her personality and hospitality. I started using SAH's services after an extremely unpleasant experience with Miltonvale Vet Clinic. I knew Dr. Jane long before I used her services. The last few visits though, Dr. Jane wasn't available, so Dr. Erin MacDonald was who we saw. At first, I thought she was okay (but not Dr. Jane), but it didn't take too long to realize what Dr. Erin seemed to see when we walked through the door was dollar signs, not cats. My last visit there was for a specific blood test for my oldest guy who has thyroid problems. The test wasn't done, nor did she even mentioned it, but we were there at her insistence. I had my second oldest with me to have her ears checked. Dr. Erin insisted on blood tests, but found nothing. I was told she had fleas. As if I don't know what fleas look like and how only one cat in seven can have fleas is beyond me. What I did see though, was a bill for $350.00. Did I mention that this was my last visit there?
