Here you will see the information of people who consume the products of Medicentres Family Care Clinics (Doctor) in Saint Albert (Canada).
At the present the firm has a score of 2.7 stars over 5 and the score is based on 125 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is discreet, and it's founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we may be quite sure that the rating is quite credible. If people have bothered to rate when they are pleased with the business, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to put evaluations when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Doctor is included in the category of Walk-in clinic.
Called at 9 am, got an appointment for 10am, maybe 15 minutes in the waiting room. Front staff was polite, Dr. Cronje saw to me, checked over my concerns and got me medicine to help my issues and xrays ordered to make sure it's not anything more serious than an infection. Great service
If I could give a negative star review I would. One star is one star too many!!!! If you call and look online and the clinic says it’s open until 10pm, IT SHOULD BE OPEN UNTIL 10PM!! We needed test results. We kept being told no news is good news. This doesn’t work for an all situations. My son is in an air cast. Can we take off the cast or does he need further medical care??? We went into the clinic to follow up. The clinic is open until 10pm, I got there at 3:40. They put a hand written note in the window that the clinic closes at 4:00pm. I thought ok, we get in just to be told the Dr isn’t seeing any patients. I saw the Dr in the hallway. The appointment would have literally taken less than 2 minutes but they refused to see my son. They again said no news is good news but then followed it up with it’s the weekend now. The receptionist told me they had the test results. I am beyond furious with the lack of care. What’s the expectation at this point? Leave an athlete in a cast and crutches waiting through until Monday or Tuesday? Keeping waiting for several days hoping no phone call comes in then take the cast off. How many times has test results not been followed up on?? We know people fall through the cracks all the time. That clinic had the test results since Friday afternoon. It is the peak of basketball season. It’s not fair to leave a student athlete in limbo for so long esp after being in the cast for over a week to follow up. I understand the follow up but once you’ve done the follow up the Drs should be keen on seeing an athlete get back on the court. My blood is beyond boiling that these clinics can arbitrarily make there own rules at the last minute. Our medical system is so broken. In this day in age I should be able to login to my account to see my test results for minor tests.
This is our “go to” clinic when we can’t get into our family doctor. The medical admin staff are great, and we’ve had great experiences with the doctors as well. Most clinics leave children in the waiting room, one day they took us before we sat down! Very impressed with the compassion at this clinic!!
I have yet to experience a pleasant encounter at any medicentre, and thought I appreciate public health care and not having to pay out of pocket each visit I think waiting 30+ minutes behind your scheduled appointment when they aren’t taking walk in, is only 2 doctors in and me, and one other man in the waiting room is ridiculous. Currently 30 minutes and counting waiting to be seen by anyone at this point. Goodness. Horrible service.
Even if you book an appointment you end up waiting over half an hour past your appointment just for your doctor to rush you out as fast as humanly possible. The doctors are an absolute disgrace as well. I went in with covid like symptoms with a negative covid test and after writing down the WRONG SYMPTOMS and ordering very rutamentary testing, they then kicked me out refusing to do anymore testing when it came back normal. Also had to wait 45 minutes just for him to tell me everything was normal.Absolute disgrace to even call these people doctors. You'd be better off going and asking a breatharian for medical advice.
Closed when they say they should be open, even on their own answering service.
$100 to check my heart rate and blood pressure for a medical clearance form to partake in a physically demanding test. Ibwas charged the price of a medical clearance and exam, but did not require an exam. I've had these forms done a few times, its always just the form with no exam, and it's never cost more than $40 at any other clinic.
In my lifetime we have seen quite a few doctors, but our experience with the staff at this Medicentre in St. Albert has been quite extraordinary. The professionalism and genuine care from both the front-end staff as well as the attending doctors has been superb. In particular we want to thank Dr. A. Muncner not just for her medical care, but also for her warmth and very evident devotion to her vocation. And thank you, Kris! You guys are awesome!
Wow, if there was no star that where i would rate it, First off the Business phone number does not work. Had to drive there. not that it is not far to drive, Rude service as soon i get there. The lady mention that the phone only have two line. I ask is anyone on the phone line. She said, No, I ask to set an appointment. Would not recommend this company :(
This medicentre is an absolute joke. Went in on Monday to get looked at for strep throat. Doctor looked at my throat and say "oh yeah it's really swollen I'm 99% sure it's strep but I'll swob it and we'll send it for testing." Didn't prescribe anything. I get a phone call Wednesday on my home phone after leaving them my cell number which they did not call. Go in Thursday morning to find out I've tested positive for strep and I have to wait in line to go over "treatment options" for my strep throat with a doctor.
Really great doctors and staff here. Not super busy either.
Only 1 doctor, I was told to wait 2 hours, but I waited more than 3 hours. Very slooooooooooooooow.
why are you closed when your hours say you’re open (Sunday until 10pm)?
Don't bother going here! Website says it's open until 10pm, I drive to the medicentre and there is a sign at the door that it closed at 6pm. I wasn't the only one trying to see a doctor. Waste of time!
You will wait a long time. Even with an appointment. Then you will get below average 'service ', by a guy who maybe speaks English, and 99% chance he rushes you out, in 3 minutes. Time well wasted, but that's what you get for 'free' healthcare. Also, no recourse.
Sat in the waiting room for 3 hours. Only one doctor on staff and they put up a hand written note stating no longer accepting walk ins at 225 pm when they are open until 10pm. This is a horrible place I won’t be back. I vote for private health care. Pretty bad when these places are over paid and understaffed. Time for a change. The counter staff has been rude to 8 people since I’ve been sitting here. All they are asking for is where is another clinic. They have access to computers right in front of them. The least they could do is offer a phone number and address. Healthcare is supposed to be about helping people in need. So start helping medicenter. This is a bad day for the representation of the Canadian medical field from your office.
I saw the evening doctor for an eye injury over the weekend. He was welcoming, friendly, and professional. He put my mind at ease after examining my eye.
Unreal! I need to find a new doctor! Every time I book an appointment I end up waiting 40, 50 mins, even an hour! I'm currently sitting in a room waiting for my doctor at 12:19 and my appointment was for 11:40. They need to learn to manage their time better, my time is worth more than just sitting here for no reason. Then on top of that factor, everytime I come here, Dr . Ian Johnston, barely makes eye contact with you, and just rushes you out the door. He does not give the feeling that he cares about his patients. This is the last stray with this medical center. I will be looking for another doctor and location for next time I need to see a doctor. Highly recommended staying away from this place if at all possible!
This is my second time reviewing this clinic, and again its not the best. Came here last Sunday to get stitches fine, the experience and doctors were average however my new biggest pet peeve is they say they are open tell 10 everyday however that is complete bullshit. Today (Sunday) I'm trying to get my stitches out and they say open tell 10 but they close at 4 and stop taking patients at 2. How silly? They blame it on physision availability but they could hire more doctors or the doctors here could not be so lazy and actually come to work on weekends. If your coming here, make sure to call ahead because there posted hours are wrong. they change everyday.
Pulled up at 855 am. They had me entered in the computer and in a room for a doctor all before 900am. The front desk lady was very nice and sweet. The doctor came in at 906 and cheaked out everything for me. Got my perception and a note for work by 9:10. I am very impressed with their services
It's a great place people are friendly they have a weird policy on weekends of picking a number even when your the only person there. But i had no problems with getting any forms i needed drivers medical or wcb/doctors note
Thank you to the RN Cam who listened to his patient and his gut feeling and did a retest. This is a great Medicenter
Devoid of any care for human’s health ... should not have become a doctor.
I really love and appreciate the doctors at medi centre st Albert but wait time is terribly long ,customer service is really poor too.i had a really bad experience today my number was called and when I came to be attended to the black lady name Noma kept me waiting and standing and was on the phone for 15 minutes.so Rude.i sat down and was called again and this time she just did not only tell me the doctor is on break but she does not know how long it's going to be so I could just sit down and wait.I was like waooo, really.that was very poor and rude.
Doctors great! But wasn't aloud to do a walk in So I booked an appointment. Walked into my appointment and some lady walked into at the same time, Asked to do a walk in and they let her. She then gets in before me while I waited past when I was booked for????
Went here last Sunday for what I thought was an infection. Was not aware that walk-ins were not available anymore. When I arrive at 9 am it said they aren't open till 10am. The hours need to be updated! When I arrived I had to make an appointment for 11:30. Came back at 11:30. Was taken in right away. I was sitting in a room from 11:45-12:30. Finally the Dr came in and told me he's going to do a swab on me so to undress and he will be back. While undressed I'm sitting in the room its been about 10+ mins and I had to call the receptionist to find out the Dr went to see another patient. I felt absolutely humiliated and upset. After the swab was taken he said he'd send it away and id get a call in 3 days and he'd come back with a prescription to use in the mean time. After waiting another 10+ minutes for my prescription I found out he went to see another patient I left and asked the receptionist to forward my prescription to the pharmacy. This Dr is super unprofessional and very unorganized and I would not recommend anyone to go here. He completely wasted my time. Also never got the call back about my swab.
Honestly should be 0 star!!! Medicentre is money grab!!! I don't trust them anymore!!!There's no difference between booking an appointment or not!!! Booked an appointment and waited for an hour!!! There are not so many patients and they are not walking in!!! On Saturday I think it's the worst.
Want to express my gratitude and appreciation for the services offered by the McKenney Medicentre. On 3 occasions I have suffered stressful symptoms that prevented me from making an appointment and fortunately the receptionist was so kind as to have me see a Dr without delay. I was able to obtain a prescription and grateful I didn't have to go to the hospital ????! We are so fortunate to have health care like this available to us and a staff who care ❣️ Dorelle Retired RN
Asked to come in then denied seeing a doctor by the front desk over a decision they said only the doctor could make. Avoid this place unless getting a sick note, it's about all they're good for.
Constantly tells you the wrong hours they're open and even forgets to update their website. They had over 20 people waiting in the rain until they gave up. Poor service no wonder the doctors are constantly rotating.
Absolutely horrible place. 3 doctors on with 6 patients in the waiting room. Wait time qouted was 1.5hours. Most waited more then 2 hours. No triage. Computers barely working. Instead of greeting you when you come in. You take a number and sit and wait. I took a number and the office was silent for 10minutes. I got up to ask they told me to take a number. As soon I sat down again they called my number further exaberating my injuries. Seems like they want to play games with patients instead of helping.
Sure I had to wait, it is a walk in! And there are so many sick people out there. The wait was worth it. I was treated with respect and received what I needed.
The receptionist was super friendly, and considering how busy it was, she did an awesome job in providing great service. The doctor was very helpful and even cracked a few jokes which was very much appreciated!
Difficult to understand what one of the receptionist says. This clinic says they are open until 10pm but often they don't have an evening doctor so they turn away evening walk-ins. They only take appointments if you have a family doctor there. They dont answer their phone at night. Don't waste your time with this clinic, you'll die before you get to see a doctor. Good job....pfff!
Had to come in for a follow up for a bad chest congestion. Made a quick call and had an appointment within an hour. Walked in and waited 5minutes. I suggest to call ahead, but sometimes that’s not an option. Friendly staff and will make this my go to medical centre
The worst ever. I booked an appointment but they said they need to rebook it cause they are so busy.
Pretty normal, fairly long waits. For a really good doctor, you need to go to a private clinic.
When they're suppose to be open till 10 and close at 4 thanks for all your help.
I just got back from my first experience at a St Albert walk-in clinic - staff was respectful, efficient and friendly. Having just moved here from Ontario - I am used to 3 hour wait times! I was in *lots* of pain and they got me in and out with script within 45 minutes. Dr Cronje was very professional and understanding of my symptoms. I am very happy with my experience and will definitely refer my friends and family to Medicenters Family Care Clinic if they ever need a walk-in!!!
Horrible experience, wouldn't ever go here again. The advertised hours are until 10:00pm, however when I walked in the door to an empty waiting room at 7:45 pm I was told they weren't taking any more patients for the evening. I was advised to try the medical clinic in the mall (which accurately advertised their hours and were closed). I phoned back and asked if they had availability this evening to see me and was told again that they weren't taking any more patients for the evening. When I asked why, I was told they had enough patients to last until 10:00pm. I asked how many rooms they have and I was told '4'. So I commented the waiting room must be full and the receptionist/ MOA lied to me and told me it was. I asked how 4 patients could take 2 hours of time. She just apologized and said the doctors weren't taking any more patients. No wonder emergency waiting rooms are being taken up by non-emergent patients, personally I won't do that, but what choice do some people have when regular 9-5pm hours are not an option and clinics like this aren't serving the public? I see a similar comments in the reviews over the past year so despite the response from the owner obviously customer service has not improved.
Staff and doctor exceeded my expectations. I attended with an unusual request and form to fill out by the doctor. I was uneasy asking for their help but they went above and beyond to help me. I highly recommend this office because I was treated with sensitivity and compassion.
Would recommend different clinic that doesn't cut corners on WCB forms making you suffer a loss from paycheque. Well done McKenney. Please ensure your employees are up to date with filling out proper patient forms...
My daughter was diagnosed with bacterial strep by her doctor and was told that as soon as anyone got a sore throat to go in as it is very contagious. I had a sore throat the day before she went to see her doctor so when I found out what it was Friday morning I left work and went straight to the doctor. I was patient with the long wait as it is a walk in however when I saw the doctor he totally dismissed what I was saying took a quick swab and said he would have the results on Saturday I was concerned about getting results on a Saturday as I wanted to get on the antibiotics so my 24 hour contagious period would be over and I could go back to work Monday. He very rudely said yes tomorrow the Dynalife is open on Saturday, so Saturday came never heard all day so at 3:45 I stopped in thank goodness because they changed their sign to closing at 4:00 anyways got to the counter and asked if my results where back and she said no we just sent them away today. So now it is Monday and I am missing another day of work and I am so sick, I was trying to be proactive so I would not make others sick however today I need to go vote so I am sorry to all the people who will get sick. I still have not heard from this doctor yet
Got here at 8:45, there were only 6 people before me. Was told there was a 1 hour wait. Been here over two hours and still haven't seen the doctor. How does it take more than two hours to see 6 people. Also I have heard the clerks tell people that the doctor is not I am seeing doesnt take appointments so there are no appointments going ahead of me. Update. Finally saw the doctor after a 3 hour wait and I was here waiting before they even opened. Outrageous! I DO NOT recommend and I will never be back.
Great clinic, friendly staff and minimal wait time in the evening.
I have been at this medi center a few times and granted their may be a wait but I find they get to know you first before asking what brought you there. That is what I expect and have been happy with the doctors there.
Waiting since 11am with sick child. Now is 2:30 ????
Takes them over 90 minutes to triage patients, front desk playing solitaire, gossiping and on their smartphones. If you need any real medical attention please go to the ER and not waste your time with this unprofessional place.
Have been going to Dr. Johnston ever since clinic was in Tudor Glen. Three generations of my family have been going to him. Recently however, because of COVID-MANIA some of the staff have become super irritable. There are two in particular who were exceptionally cruel. One was a fat fellow who told me to leave because I refused to wear a mask even though I wear a shield. As a child I almost drowned and ever since then have not been able to wear any face coverings or anything that restricts my breathing, not even scarfs. I've tried wearing masks but wind up having a panic attack and rip it off gasping for breathe. I am 70 and on BP meds and this attempt to wear a mask spikes my pressure, so am more afraid of dying from heart-attack than from the Covid. So not sure how I am ever going to see Dr. Johnston again, unless it is virtually. The second staff member was a woman with dark skin who treated my wife with great disdain, rolling her eyes at her. I had taken my grandson to see Dr. Johnston, but found out we would have to wait over 3 hours so rescheduled. My wife was to meet us there. She came in asking if she could go back to let us know she was there, but instead of trying to find out if were there or not, and letting my wife know that, the staff member just rolled her eyes and said the doctor only lets no more than 2 people in. My wife wound up waiting for over 2 hours for nothing (she forgot her phone at home). Eventually she left and came home finding me waiting for her...she was mad at staff for not telling her we had left. Lack of organization and poor information skills? Good help is so hard to find these days. Staff was way better in the old location. Follow-up: Was contacted by McKenny Medicentre manager and received an apology concerning the way my wife and I were treated by front-end support staff. Was told staff were reprimanded. Still, we have decided to go to a facility closer to us. This Medicentre moved from Tudor Glen which was much closer to where we lived to where it is now. I want to thank Dr. Johnston for all the years he has been my doctor and hope all the best for him.
Update: after 2.5 hours I was able to see a doctor. When Dr. Lombard walked in her personality eased my anger. She apologized for the wait and got right to my concerns. She listened to me, reviewed my bloodwork and actually reviewed then explained my results (something that hasn’t happened there before). Dr. Lombard gave me a printout of my results and what to address with my family doctor (I have a meet and greet in a few weeks for one). Honestly, Dr. Lombard is the best doctor there! I have been going to this clinic for a few years and I wish that she was taking patients as a family doctor. If this is the service and care she takes with walking, I wonder how great she would be as a family doctor. Worse walk-in clinic possible with communication! Said it would be a 40 minute wait and it’s now been 2 hours and 20 minutes. No one updated the patients waiting until we began making a fuss. I now have been moved to a room but told that I am next to see the doctor but he has gone on a “break”, they are not sure how long he will be but could be 10-15 minutes BUT not really sure. This is ridiculous and someone needs to be held accountable! I really feel bad for the staff having to listen to patients when it is not their fault. There needs to be better communication with the patients who are waiting longer than anticipated. And what makes this better, I am told that one of the doctors does not write prescription refills (which is why I’m here). How ridiculous is that when I have always been coming here for refills????
I tried to make an appointment because I have a busy day and I was told I could only walk in. I went in 2 hours before close because I figured it would be slower and when the desk clerk finally showed up I was told the numbers were not on the counter because they wouldn't be able to get to anyone else. So basically you have to dedicate a minimum of 3 hours to even be seen and hopefully you don't have an issue that is too embarrassing as you have to speak pretty loud right next to the waiting area. Oh and don't trust the hours posted on the website as they weren't open on the weekend.
It says your closed at 10 but they stopped taking people at 730. It's only me and 2 other people. One of the doctors complains out loud about being tired and couldn't wait till we can leave , alysha at the front desk was extremely rude and not professional. All I have to say is this is outright stupid. I will NEVER come here again nor will I ever recommend it. Save your self and go somewhere where the staff is professional and nice and doesn't just sit texting on their phone and clearly talking about us in a rude , unmannerly fashion.
Dr.P muncner was very rude and arrogant to us! Made us feel like if he didn’t have time to listen to us and would ask a question then cut us off to ask another question this is not the first time i see this doctor the other time it was for something very personal and he laughed about and made me very uncomfortable!!!
They will make sit in a room more then half on hour no doctor will come till u go and ask them . Very very bad experience
Took my 3 year old in and the doctor was so great with her. Receptionist was warm and welcoming as well.
I came here a few times but I dont think I will be coming back. I have sensitive smell and for some reason the office in front always smells like soup. This is fine but not at a clinic! Is not clean smelling here.
I would start off by telling everyone to stay away from this clinic! The service is horrendous! 2 ladies at the front desk don't know what they are doing. They "think" or "don't know" they don't how to do their jobs. Any health card works across Canada and they don't know what to do, the lady was making excuses and didn't make sense at all. wasted my time coming into this clinic. specially where this is a walk-in clinic for everybody health being. If I could give this clinic less than a star I would!!
Didn't even bother updating the voice mail saying they were closed earlier than normal. Drove a long distance with a sick kid. Arrived at 7. There was a NOTE on the door saying they had closed at 4.30. Either they are disorganized, or don't care much about their patient's time. Most likely both.
My husband went in for first time, he had a bit of wait time which is totally understandable in cold and flu season, but once he saw Dr he found him totally professional and friendly. Couldn’t ask for more.
I had an absolutely awful, traumatizing, and very discouraging visit at this clinic location recently. I have a 3 year old with emotional dysregulation and behavioral challenges, so both my husband and I need to take him to an appointment/doctor together away from our work obligations and prepare him for it. We arrived 40 minutes before closing whereby the wait time on the website said "5 minutes". When I showed up there was 1 person in the waiting room and no cars outside in the parking lot, and when I went in register my child whom was finally in agreement to attend, the first personnel at the reception, Shaheed I believe his name was, said they were no longer accepting patients, although there was still 40 minutes prior to closing and all we required was a lab requisition recommended by his Child Mental Health agency to assist in ruling out causes of his behavioral challenges/emotional dysregulation. At this time Shaheed was reluctantly commencing registering my child whereby a second reception personnel came out whom very, very loudly and rudely stated they would not be accepting my child and that we could find another clinic. I mentioned to her that Shaheed had commenced intake and explained the situation about the challenge it is to get my child to the physician and the mere nature of the request to the physician, whereby she very humiliatingly stated "we are not taking anymore patients, and if you have a problem with it then my name is Zoe and you can complain". I mentioned again the sign on the door stated closing was in 40 minutes and the website still stated 5 minute wait time and my child's situation, whereby she responded "that's nice, we are not taking anymore patients". I asked if there was someone else I could speak to discuss my concern, whereby she said "no, goodbye". On my way out I indicated I would be filing a complaint as I believe it was discriminatory against my child with behavioral and emotional challenges to disregard his needs in addition to being entirely neglectful, and as we were leaving I had to tell my child they could not take us whom became so distressed and upset and they just watched as my child left dehumanized and disregarded in distressing tears. No one should ever submit themselves to such an inhumane clinic and working in health care myself, this is never, ever okay to do and I would say my child as a result of the circumstance suffered serious harm which is reportable as abuse. We could not get my child to agree to another appointment as he was so devastated and discouraged by the experience, however, used Telus Health MyCare whom were so supportive and provided us with what we needed within 5 minutes. So thank you, Medicentre, for assisting us to find another medical platform that embodies the principles of health promotion, illness prevention, and safe, competent, ethical, and compassionate care and abides by the physician's oath to "first, do no harm".
Very bad exprince happed yesterday March 15 with doctor B. Thomas, I was so sick waiting for one hour in the reception and one hour inside the exam room and after this waiting time the docor asked the nurse to do complete medical check to me( hieght, weight, etc) which never happened before in a medicentre. However all the information in netcare as I have my family doctor, I asked the nurse why all these information, she answered he is new doctor. Then I called my family and they had emergency and I asked the nurse can the doctor see me now after 2 and half hour and all these exams that nurse did it for me, she said no it might be more 45 min, then I had to leave without seeing this doctor and the nurse advice I can come back the next day in the morning. Is that something the Alberta health accept it ?????
Went to the medicentre early June, then went for blood tests at DynaLife. Received absolutely nothing in the mail and no phone call or email about my test results, when or where I should pick them up, etc. It's been almost 2 months and I just found out I need to come in and see the same doctor I first talked to in order to get my results. The doctor I saw was also extremely condescending and told me "its unusual for someone your age to care about their health".
I needed my Mom (90+ years old) to see a Doctor rather quickly. I am most thankful to all of the staff and Doctors at this clinic. They treated my Mom and me with respect, compassion and very thorough and professional care. I appreciate all of their special care and attention.
The people here are so nice and the doctors take their time with you. The wait times aren't bad at all. I recommend this place compared to other medicenters.
Worst and most unprofessional. One of three doctors i had seen walked in with my results and told me they ment nothing. That was a lie. My results were clear that something was picked up during testing and he chose to ignore telling me until i asked him to hand me my results to take to another doctor. He was rude and didnt show he cared even a single bit. He had also asked me what i think i should do about the lower abdominal pain i have been now experiencing for over a year... obviously if i knew that answer i wouldnt be going to see a doctor! The second doctor i had seen, seemed scared of his job and very nervouse which was very unsettling. Situation was awkward and he didnt seem to know what he was doing at all. I had seen 2-3 doctors between december 2017 and october 2018, not one of my tests or results were recorded on my medical file from any of the doctors i seen at this location! My current two doctors have shown me there is no record on my medical file that shows what they tested me for, what my results were, or what they treated me for! Absolutely careless! My current doctors are left without knowing this information which is very important in diagnosing my problem.
I came here once a couple years ago. I have chronic bladder infections and can normally handle them myself with cranberry juice and baking soda with lots of water. After a few days I decided to head into this medicentre because my symptoms had gotten extremely worse and I needed antibiotics. I figured the wait would be long (sat for 3 hours) and once I got in to see the doctor I was under the assumption i would pee in a cup (which my pee was blood red), he would test it quick (if even necessary) and I'd be sent on my way with my antibiotics. But instead the doctor told me that the sample wasn't good enough to tell if it was an infection!!! That I should come back tomorrow and give another sample and he couldn't help me until then. I was extremely patient the entire time I was in there despite my pain and that's the answer I get. Didn't test it or anything. Just argued with me when I told him that it was obviously a UTI and to give me antibiotics to fix it before it might turn into a kidney infection. He left very abruptly afterwards and I was left in shock with no solution to my problem. I went to a different doctors office (not medicentre) the next morning and was given the antibiotics I desperately needed.
What a relief to find such exceptonal service here in St Albert. I am so relieved to find such an outstanding Doctor and his Clinic so close to home. I had no previous knowledge of Doctor Fateis or his excellent Staff. I am a St Albert resident - 40 years in Alberta- and don't normally take the time to do this. My remakable return to health and Wellness is down to a superb analysis and an incisive diagnosis by Dr Fateis. I pray that he chooses to serve the people of St Albert for many years to come.
Was in and out in just over 20 mins, Dr. Cronje and the front desk staff all seemed very professional.
Prompt services and friendly administrative staff. We have just moved here and are without a family physician. The wait was short and Dr. Cronje was attentive and had excellent bedside manner. He provided helpful information on obtaining a new family doc and was efficient in providing care. Thanks for your assistance!
Longest wait of my life.. should have seen my family GP but understandable due to covid
Showed up at 9:00. The waiting room was empty, the reception staff was very nice. Was in a room within minutes, and the doctor came in shortly after. Dr. Thomas was very quick, but thorough with a good bedside manner. Next time I need to see a doctor I'm going to go here.
They either do not answer the phone or they answer and put you on hold for 45 minutes just to book an appointment. Once your appointment is booked, they call to postpone your appointment by days or even weeks. This has happened to me 3 times. Is my health completely unimportant to my doctor? This is not doing "no harm;" it's threatening my mental health in addition to my physical health. This isn't a one off; this is their regular business practice. It's disgusting - you're supposed to be helping people!
Says they close at 10pm and It's 2:47 and they stopped taking patients because they're closing at 4. They had no legitimate excuse for closing at 4pm.
Closest center to my workplace so should be more convenient. However, you can't call them once they're open. 20 minutes past 9am and they're call line still says the place is closed. Can't leave messages either. Very frustrating. Can't make my appt and can't call them to reschedule/cancel...
My daughter was suffering from a throat infection. She was tested negative for COVID a few weeks prior but her sore throat did not go away. I was turned away from numerous clinics and was told I had to go get tested again for Covid. She had no new symptoms and clearly needed antibiotics but nobody would listen. I called several clinics in north Edmonton. Even was stood up by a doctor at the Hudsons medical clinic who was suppose to call and never did. I had stayed up after a night shift waiting for his call. I was ready to walk into an ED over something so easily treatable but could become very serious until I called this clinic. The nurse at the front desk was understanding and had me come in. Instantly my daughter was seen by the Kind Dr Johnston and was finally treated, This will be my number one clinic to go to for now on. Thank you to all the great staff! I appreciate everything you have done for my daughter.
There was a bit of a mix up with x-ray results going to the wrong Medicentre, and I needed my results quickly to take with me to my physio appointment. I dropped in to the McKenney medicentre to see if I could get a quick appointment with the doctor to go over my x-ray. Kris, the assistant manager, was able to get me in quickly. She is very professional as well as caring and friendly.
Everytime we come it takes forever and no one is even in the waiting room. Don't recommend this place.
I have had 4 experiences at this clinic. I saw 2 doctors and both did their best to spend the time needed to make the proper course I did not feel rushed.
Doctors are nice - if you can get in to see them. Waits are usually long and the hours change daily, so it's hit or miss if you can even get in. Person I spoke to told me they were open until 10 one day, I arrived at 5:00 to find out they were already closed. It's very frustrating.
Honestly, I don’t understand why to book an appointment if staff is not able to manage their time properly. My son was waiting to see a doctor longer than one hour over his booked time, and people who came in later than us were invited in before us. I would never come back here again and definitely would not recommend this place to other patients.
Pick up your phone.
Although the wait time was long, the staff were very helpful. I had decided to go right after work as a walk-in patient, so a longer wait time was completely understandable. The doctor was very sympathetic and put me at ease right away.
Avoid this place at all costs! They open at 9 but doctor didn't start seeing patients until 10. They quoted an hour wait but it was over two hours. When they finally took me to wait in exam room for I waited there for 40 minutes! Finally the doctor saw me for 45 seconds. Then you have to wait for doctor to see four other patients before he will print perscription. Seriously horrible. I will never be back.
I came in for a finger cut, pretty deep and needing 3 stitches. Of the 3, the most important one right over the center of the wound was done incorrectly ( needed to be redone once while there) and after being done again and bandages, the stich was so loose it was untied by the time I took the dressing off. If I'd known I would have been hacked up like a blind man buttering bread and come out without being stiched up right I would have taken my chances with a bottle of super glue. At least that way my wound would be closed up and I might not have as much of a scar. As for my other stitches, I'll take my chances taking them out myself
I attended the McKenney Medicentre on a Sunday morning with my 6 year old son. My son was very sick, with a bad cough and elevated temperature. We dealt with two clinic employees during the check-in process and they were both very compassionate and kind. As the wait time was expected to be fairly long (which is typical of a walk-in clinic), we were offered an exam room for my son to lay down in while we waited. The doctor came in to assess my son after a minimal wait. He was very professional and caring. Overall, in spite of my son being so ill, due to the wonderful employees, the visit was a positive experience. Thank you.
I went to this medicenter Feb 8, after being sick with a worsening cough for ten days, and on a puffer/antibiotics for 6 days. I am 19 weeks pregnant and worried about the baby, so when I saw Dr. Tuck I suggested I may have Pneumonia and would like a chest x-ray to confirm or deny. He listened to my lungs and told me, "No we aren't there yet," and gave me a prescription for a Ventolin inhaler and told me to eat honey at night to soothe my cough. Later that night my fever came back so I went to Sturgeon hospital and was given a chest x-ray, with confirmed Pneumonia. I am a nurse and the whole reason I went to the walk in a second time was to avoid going to emergency as I know how busy they can be, and I could have been given a requisition for a chest x-ray from a walk in. I am not impressed.
this is the slowest center.. its only 6 pm and they dont accept patient even in pain.. ????????
A well-deserved shout out to Zoe at McKenney MediCentre in St. Alberta. After speaking with McKenney, she very kindly and with quiet efficiency got me in with my local MediCentre. Thank you Zoe!
I have had traumatic experiences with doctors in the past, so working up the courage to seek medical help today wasn't easy. When I have panic attacks I hyperventilate, get sweaty and flushed. I came in today to seek help for what I believe to either be an ovarian cyst or an implanted IUD. I got turned away after being forced to wait in the waiting room for 30 minutes while having an anxiety attack, and then being told my temperature was too high from being flushed. I was assured a doctor would call me to address my concerns. 'I explained that I have been experiencing pain varying from mild to so severe that I can't walk. The doctor told me that there was nothing he could do without seeing me but that he wouldn't allow me in, and that I should get a COVID test. I've taken my temperature 6 other times today and every time I it comes back normal. A COVID test won't help, because I will have an anxiety attack if I were to try and come back, and my temperature will seem elevated and I will be sent away again. I need an exam. I am mortified that a doctor could be so uncaring and dismissive of my health concerns and offer no assistance what-so-ever. The search for medical treatment feels hopeless now and I am stuck with horrible pain. Why even put yourself through going here if they can't care less. Terrible experience and will never go back. Seriously lessens my trust in this clinic.
I waited over 3 hours to be told that they can’t do a test to confirm pregnancy to refer me. Very disappointed that they couldn’t communicate that when I checked in; instead they made me wait. The doctor made me feel very uncomfortable and questioned everything I said. I will never return to this clinic or recommend it.
Extremely long wait . Longer than double what is stated . Dr prescribed 1 pill and go see your family Dr the next day if possible. What a joke. The pharmacist and 2 other Doctors could not understand why anyone would write a prescription for 1 Pill me included. Unbelievable will not go there again , incompetence in my opinion.
I came in with my son on the weekend, the MOA was extremely kind. She was very patient with my son, and asked him questions about his day. I believe her name was Mya!
Yikes! Stay away.
Estimated wait time was 15 minutes showed up and after waiting an hour found out people there had already been waiting 1.5 hours before we showed up. Waited 3 hours before giving up. They really need to be more accurate on wait times
I lady at the front deck can’t speak English to start with.. and they lie every time about the wait.. the dr showed up 30 mins lates. No apology. They’ve stopped taking patients three hours for for closing time and they go down to one doctor the end of the day when I gets busiest and have three during the day.. give them more money...
I came in on Sunday. I was never warned of a 2 hour wait, the only reason I found out was from the staff telling other walk in patients. I came in at 1:15 & didn't end up leaving until 5pm. When I finally saw the doctor he just gave me a prescription & recommended I come back again to ask another doctor for a recommendation for an asthma test.
Loudly announced what the test results I was picking up are for in front of the full waiting room
Good experience with Dr. Smith as she was professional and helpful.
All Medicenters are busy so I don’t think it’s fair for anyone to complain about how how long you have to wait, especially since it’s a walk-in clinic. What matters is how the staff treat you and how much effort they put into making sure you are seen as soon as possible. Chris at the front desk is amazing. She’s always very kind and helpful on the phone and when I come in in person. The doctors are also competent and nice. Dr Muncner (female) is so friendly and funny. I recommend this place. If you don’t have time to do a walk-in make sure you get an appointment.
I appreciate Dr Paton. Very kind and polite. Would come again if I needed a check up
The Staff here are friendly and helpful , the wait times were short during my visits and they were able to quickly and effectively help me out with my troubles. I would recommend this place to friends and family.
Appointment time was 11 Waited 20 min for a room Another 15 once in the room Dr did minor examination, said he’d be right back as he had to fill a form. After another 20 minutes I left telling the front desk I’d return another day for the papers.
Brought my daughter in a few days ago thinking it would be a long wait. They put us in under fast track and diagnosed her uti pretty quick. Great staff and friendly doctor
I have visited this Medicentre several times and each time had a good experience. Sometimes the wait is over 2 hours, but today I only maybe waited 15 minutes. Staff and Dr's have always been pleasant and helpful to me.
I Came to get a prescription at the st Albert clinic for an infection and wait time was said to be an hour. Considering this is a walk in clinic I am ok with wait times but i am not okay when that 1 hour turns into 3 hours with no reason (in terms of emerg patients) Just update people accordingly is all I ask
This clinic has really gone downhill. The new manager (Zoe?) is extremely rude and bossy! And it might sound strange, but smells like soup?
I came to get a prescription filled out and all off the information was completely wrong on it. It had a women's name on the prescription and I wasn't allowed to take my prescription. I have barely had any sleep in the past 3 days and have to work full-time every day. Good thing the office was closed at 5 because if it wasn't my day could have been made slightly better. How am I suppose to expect a correct diagnosis or even the correct medication on my prescription if you can't even get the basic information of a patient correct??? I literally do not understand how you could screw something up so badly, what if someone needed their medication in an emergency and your Doctors can't give them appropriate care. If this issue isn't resolved within 24 hours you can expect to be hearing a lot more from me.
I’ve never waited longer at any other medicentre than I have at this medicentre. Cancelled appointments, doctors not showing up on time, doctors leaving early even when there’s dozens of people waiting. It’s not run very well at all. I will be finding a new medicentre to use from now on.
