I was a patient of his in 2019 due to a large ovarian cyst. On my preop appointment which was 2 days before my surgery the nurse informed me that I may need to have a partial hysterectomy at the age of 20. He also had my cyst listed as on the right however my pain was on my left side. Prior to my surgery they went to confirm the side and I told them my left... I was right my cyst was on the left side not the right.

Due to HIS error I had to have a full hysterectomy following the birth of my twins. .. he was quoted in saying I don't think I nicked anything. I was barely 25

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Sternadel and the girls at the front desk. It was my first visit today, so I didn’t have a chance to get their names yet but they are so friendly and reassuring. I’m 8 months pregnant and had a transfer of care to an OB from midwives because I’m high risk. The girls were so quick and so kind. Dr. Sternadel was so efficient and friendly and shows so much compassion. I’m a FTM so I was initially worried as I had a bad experience with the midwives. They are all amazing and I feel like my baby and I are in really good hands. Thank you girls and Dr. Sternadel!!

He did a labia plasty for me a few years back. My surgery was completely botched. He left one side untouched, and almost completely removed the other by cutting straight across. It was not rounded at all, leaving two small triangle pieces at top and bottom of lip. The healing took three weeks, and was so excruciating that I couldn't sit down or wear underwear. I went to the welland hospital at one point because the tissue had swelled, and was bulging between the stitches. I was in so much pain I was shivering. The swelling resulted in a serrated edge at the point of incision. He never offered to fix this, and said he felt it was a success. After years of embarrassment, I finally have the nerve to ask a different doctor to repair the damage cause in the first surgery. Under no circumstances should you let this man near you with a scalpel.

I have been seeing him since 6 weeks pregnant! I am now 20 weeks and I couldn’t be happier ! He is quick and right to the point which I like and always has a smile on his face. I book my appointments in the morning to avoid long wait times but it happens. Out of there control so I will not complain. His office staff also seem to really have fun with him too ! I will continue to return with future pregnancies as well :)

Awful. I wanted to have my tubes done because of serious medical history in my family (Cancer, Tourette's, Diabetes) as well as mental health issues and my own desire to never have children and I was refused because I'm younger than 35 years old and it goes against his beliefs and because I've never had children. He then proceeded to tell me he's even refused people who have children. I have been on Birth Control for 10 years. I've explored the other options of prevention and determined this was the best way and to be told that I'm not being denied based on my medical history but because of his personal beliefs that I'm too young (I'm in my very late twenties) is awful. I left that office sobbing. It's not your body, it's mine. If I ever wanted children adoption was an option. Birth control and other forms of contraceptives are not a 100% guarantee you won't get pregnant. What happens if my contraception fails - Condoms + Birth Control + Plan B if the other two fail and I suddenly find myself with an unwanted child? Abortion is my only option because there's not a shred of a chance I'd ever go through with the pregnancy process and you're going to put a mental health patient through the abortion process? Something that's been ridiculed by society as awful, that has people actively protesting against who go to schools, colleges, public areas to shame and ridicule all who get it done? Don't impose your own personal beliefs onto others. The choice to have children or not have children is mine not yours.

Absolutely the best obgyn I’ve had. Dr. Sternadyl is thorough with his examinations, he explains procedures and best of all is his caring nature! He is absolutely the kindest doctor I have been too. His office staff are knowledgeable and caring.

I would not recommend this doctor, he permanently injured my son during his delivery causing my son severe trauma, nerve damage. I filed a complaint with the College of Physicians and they found he was negligent and I successfully sued him. However my son who is now a teen is permanently disabled. Furthermore he never even apologize. Litigation took many many years, and I never gave up.

Worst doctor I have ever had. I went to the hospital for an ultrasound as I was spotting at 8 weeks pregnant. Dr. Sternadel refused to see me and sent me home with instructions to call his office in the morning. I had a miscarriage that night - had he taken 10 min out of his day to walk me through the possibility and what to expect the experience might have been less terrifying for me and my partner. I called his office the next morning to tell them and was told Dr Sternadel wouldn't see me until the following week. I went an entire week with no idea as to what to expect or what was normal. I asked him about this during our appointment which he then quickly ended without ever asking how I was doing or if I was still bleeding. I went for tests that day and again had to wait over a week. I called the office, left voicemails and finally he told one of the office ladies (who were lovely) to tell me I was "fine". That's it.... that's the extent of "medical" information I received in regards to my first pregnancy and miscarriage. Turned an already upsetting situation into an absolute nightmare.

He wasn't my gynocologist but did deliver my son 5 years ago by being the on call doctor. Im from Niagara falls and I was also a month and a half early with my son. I spent the night in the niagara hospital and the staff was so ignorant and rude they told me to come back when it was my time cause the nursery was "full". That same night I delivered my son at the Welland hospital. He delivered perfectly and made me feel safe. No complications, I healed fine. And most importantly my son was doing great as well. He is 5yearsold now (My bestfriend is actually pregnant and I was on here to recommend him to her!)

He isn't my regular OB but he was the doctor on call when I had my son last week...I was in the hospital for quite some time and went through 4 different OB's him being the one who ultimately delivered my son through emergency c section..we were having problems with my son's heartbeat slowing down as I was getting closer to delivering him, anytime he was called to my room to check up on me he was fast and explained everything, he was also very compassionate when he told me what was happening and had made the decision for me to go into surgery..after my son was delivered, he had fluid in his lungs and was taken to the NICU before I was able to see him. Like any other mother in that situation, I was extremely concerned and having a rough time after coming out of surgery. He made a point to come to me to check how I was doing, and comfort me even though I know he was extremely busy. I would definitely recommend him to anyone, and was happy he was the doctor on call..

I had Dr Sternadel with my March 18th 2021 baby and was very happy! He did a great job on my 3rd c section and I had zero compilations afterwards. My baby was in the NICU for nearly a month and he came to check on me a couple times to see how we were doing and coping. He sent us to McMaster when it was needed and was overall competent. I never had to wait long and he was always friendly and professional.

Doesn't seem to really care for his patients or their feelings. Not very personalable. Just another day to him. Always an hour long wait to get in even when your on time.
