Receptionist is a jerk and the Dr. Lokananthan just doesn't show up to appointments. Avoid this office if you are looking for competent professionals. They give very poor service and then fire patients who leave poor reviews on Google about their experience. If you're sick you're better off waiting in the ER.

A doctor I have had several wonderful years interacting with. Attentive, professional and overseeing a wonderful staff of nurses, I have never had an issue with scheduling, rescheduling or airing my medical concerns with any member on staff. I highly recommend this office.

Ontario's medical system is flawed. Unless your an influential person or someone who makes enough money to afford Premium care you will not get it.. The apathy Im now starting to experience through my family clinic is terrible. Like all other medical services in our region they continually pass you off so you become the next persons problem. People need to learn that you will not get the care you expect unless you goto toronto or buy it in the states.

I agree with Jordan’s review. As a long time patient of Dr.Lokanathan, I think it’s safe to say that her new receptionist has become a huge barrier for patients that are trying to access basic health care. I have not been able to get through to Dr.Lokanathan since Allison retired. The last time I called the office I was met with hostility when I asked the new receptionist to check the fax machine for my prescription refill request. She then sent me a “formal” letter threatening to have me removed from Dr. Lokanathan’s patient list if I ever spoke to HER that way again. I thought it was common and normal to ask the doctor’s office about medications when I’ve been waiting for them, as I have been for the past 8 years, but apparently it’s not okay now that Allison doesn’t work there. I haven’t been able to reach Dr.Lokanathan since that phone call. I’m starting to believe that she doesn’t care about us as much as she used to, otherwise someone else would be working reception, someone that has at least an ounce of compassion. How I’ve been treated by the new receptionist disgusts me.

More compassion should be coming out of Doctors offices. In EVERY training I have been in regarding client care.. we ALWAYS talk about how the receptionist of an organization is the first impression of that office. Your doctors office should be provided the utmost care and compassion.

Always had great medical care through this office! My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that is is super tough to get through to the office itself (but likely the same for all offices). Having an email or voicemail box that allows patients to leave messages would be amazing!!

One of the best Doctors in Peterborough. She is very professional, polite, compassionate and she always patiently listens to all my concerns. I am very lucky to have her as my Family Dr.

She kicks people out for leaving bad reviews. Do you really want a doctor that unprofessional? Look elsewhere if you were considering this practitioner.

Dr.Lokanathan used to be a competent doctor. I suspect that she is struggling since she left the Peterborough clinic.She is very dismissive and did not even show up to my last 2 appointments. Dr. L doesn’t take people’s health concerns seriously.She seems burned out these days. As for the new secretary: she is incredibly incompetent. She never answers the phone. She was supposed to email me a form and never did. She sent all of my prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy. She sent my blood work to the wrong clinic. She is rude almost always, and uses a condescending tone. She often will raise her voice and become hostile if you ask her simple questions. It was better when Dr. L worked at the clinic. I miss her old staff. Sheena was a great nurse and Alley was a great secretary. I have lost all trust in Dr Lokanathan and her new staff. Especially the new secretary she hired after Alley left. They are incredibly unprofessional. My advice would be that having no doctor at all is safer than having this one. Run the other way.

Dr Lokanathan and all the other people that work in the office are great. They offer a very welcoming, non-judgemental space. Our family is grateful we were able to become patients here.
