I was so pleased to have found this place. Honestly one of the nicest groups of people I had the pleasure of interacting with in a long time. Covid protocols were very well followed. Staff was friendly and helpful and of course, I recieved my eye exam and glasses with ease. Keep up the great work!
Dr. Kingstone was great! Not only do I wear glasses, I have a faulty Hasner's Valve that sometimes leads to eye infections, and Dr. Kingstone's medical expertise keeps me healthy. Everyone should have a great doctor like him.
I have been "seeing" Dr. Kingstone for many years and have always felt well looked after. He and his Team, Peggy & Ashley are very professional and , friendly.
Thorough eye examination with good explanations and recommendations.
Such a great experience from start to finish! I had an eye emergency and Dr. Kingstone was able to fit me in right away. I also love that they direct bill. Makes my life a whole lot easier.
Dr. Kingstone is very thorough and professional. All the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Great place. I will be back for my follow up appointments in the coming years.
The eye-testing side is fine, but then buy your glasses somewhere else. Expensive products and disappointing retail service. Beware their 'no returns' policy (now posted in store). I attended this store based on the reviews, which I now realize were partly from friends and family of the employees and owner. With the encouragement and assistance of their staff I selected and purchased a pair of finest brand frames and lenses based on my new prescription. The cost was just under $1000 for the glasses alone. I paid half in advance and waited for the lenses to be manufactured offsite. When the glasses were ready I attended to have them fit, and paid the balance. As they were being fitted I immediately noticed that I had blurry distance vision through them, and that I had to tilt my head back to read. This was a huge step down from my previous glasses and I told the staff that the lenses were wrong. I was right, but they asked me to wear them for the weekend to see if I adjusted to the "new prescription." Not only did I not adjust (because their physical measurements were made wrong) but the carbon fibre arms of the expensive frames cut into my ears where they rested, causing pain. I returned the frames within days, and an employee (who said she used to be the owner) told me she would have never recommended those frames, as she knew the problem with the carbon fibre. (So, why did they not tell me, and why do they sell frames they know will hurt their customers?) She then told me that according to store policy, which was not posted nor written on the back of my receipt or invoice nor explained to me at any time until then, I could not receive a refund but needed to choose another pair of frames and they would remake the lenses. They don't have a huge selection, but I found a pair. To ensure that the new lenses were perfect, they retested my eyes, adjusting my prescription to create a larger 'reading' zone. They rechecked the measurements for my 'distance' zone and noted that their original measurements of the location of the centre of my eyes had been wrong. (These latter errors were by the retail side of the business, from my first visit). The new pair of frames were around $170 cheaper (no carbon fibre) than my first pair and the 'previous owner' employee wanted to do a straight swap, which she said was company policy. I declined and politely pointed out that any such policy (swapping for a cheaper pair and not getting a refund of the difference) should be communicated or posted so customers could know that they were permanently committed to a purchase price regardless of whether the glasses were a problem, as the store will only try to fix the vision issues. At one point she left my side to visit the nearby staff room and we heard her exclaiming loudly about her frustration with my expectations of a partial refund. I think any customer would expect $1000 glasses and frames to fit and be made right. Mine didn't, and it was their fault, not mine. We ordered the replacement frames and glasses, which (after several additional visits to adjust the fit) were acceptable. I won my partial refund, but had to fight too hard for it. I still feel upset about them complaining among themselves about a paying customer. It exposes how they really feel. I cannot recommend this company for their retail side, and won't return. Hopefully, they will read this and improve. It is easy to find alternate sources of glasses in the Orillia area.
I came here to get new glasses. My old glasses were an ancient relic of a time long past. Got an eye exam easy-peasy and then perused through the assortment of spectacles. All of the staff were patient and helpful. The place was nice too. Got a new pair of glasses that were dope. I've been here to get sunglasses as well. Nice selection. Also dope. Overall, I've had pleasant experiences here. Would definitely recommend Orillia Eyewear.
I am very pleased with my recent routine eye exam at Orillia Eyewear & iCare. Dr. Kingstone performed a thorough exam using state-of-the-art equipment and shared the images to fully inform me about the health of my eyes and what eyewear was most appropriate. A couple of months later, I had some unforeseen issues with my eyes. His staff was very understanding and accommodating and booked me a same-day appointment. Dr. Kingstone performed another thorough exam and took the time to explain my condition and how to deal with it, and then answered all of my questions. He reassured me that I could contact him for prompt care if my condition persisted. I was also impressed with how the entire team took great care to ensure the visit, including the examination and trying on new glasses, was safe during Covid. I feel confident knowing I am receiving excellent and timely eye care.
My glasses broke requiring a minor repair and even during a pandemic I was able to make arrangements to get them fixed. I'm very happy with the service and only had to make do with my old glasses for a couple of days.
Wonderful customer service!
This was my first visit to Orillia Eyewear & iCare and I couldn't be more satisfied with the service I received. There were strict covid-19 protocols being followed to ensure public safety and being my first eye exam in over 20 years Dr.Kingstone took the time to really explain the details of the tests that were done and the results obtained. I definitely recommend Dr. Kingstone and Orillia Eyewear & iCare to anyone who is looking for an Optometrist.
I was extremely satisfied with the level of customer service I received. They have a very wide selection of brands to choose from at very fair prices. With a one day turn around for Oakley products I was pretty impressed. They are able to directly charge most health insurance companies as well which can be a big time saver. Onsite optometrist as well.
Great place, very professional and friendly. Would recommend to anybody.
The optometrist here is very friendly and the place was very organized and clean. Made my experience very easy to find my glasses. I wanted to get Raybans for the summer and there was a great selection of frames!
My husband and I are seniors, and we have our eyes tested annually. Since Costco came to Orillia, they have been our #1 place to go for glasses. Staff are very helpful, and usually less than a week we have our new glasses.
Great service, came in 2 months ago, slight change in script. Thought I could wait, one eye got worse and they rechecked to make sure it wasn't anything serious. Didn't charge me for the appointment. Glasses on order.
Wow! What can I say, I haven’t had an eye exam completed in years and it was such a great experience. Dr. Kingstone and staff were super helpful and friendly, paying great attention to detail. He was thorough and their selection of eye wear meant that I found the perfect pair. Thank you Orillia Eyewear & iCare!
