I was referred to Dr Baker due to a very quick decline in the vision in my right eye due to cataracts. It was determined that I was effectively blind in my right eye and would need lens replacement surgery. I was terrified, I have PTSD and could not imagine being awake for the surgery! Dr Baker was so understanding and reassured me that his team was awesome and that I wouldn't feel a thing. I didn't believe him but I decided that I would place my trust in him. From the moment I was called into the clinic (inside the hospital) I was attended to by the most awesome nurse named Delores, who didn't leave my side for a second! I wasn't anxious at all and the surgery itself was painless (as promised)..... sorry for not believing you Dr. Baker!! I am ecstatic to report that my vision 24 hours later was deemed 3 points off 20/20!! Amazing! I can't express my gratitude for Dr. Baker and his absolutely amazing team! I'm having my left eye done next month and I honestly can't wait. I expected to recover a portion of my vision but this is absolutely unbelievable! A very special thank-you to the amazing Delores and of course the most talented Dr. Baker!

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Baker and his team. I had a cyst removed from above my eye, a surgery I'd been avoiding my entire life. I was super nervous. They let me listen to Britney Spears (as per my request) for the duration of the surgery, and we talked about her the whole time. It was a great time, considering I was under the knife. I just got my sutures out today, and he did an immaculate job such that the scar is really hardly noticeable at all - something important when someone is working on your face! Overall, I'm much happier with the results than I even thought I would be. Thank you guys! I will definitely be returning here for any future concerns. (#FREEBRITNEY!)

I went to see Dr. Baker because I was told he is the best ophthalmologist in Victoria and I'm glad I did. My case was very unusual. Due to years of bad eczema over my left eye, the eyelid skin had become loose and eventually weakened the muscle that allows your eyelid to create a clear fold. Having uneven sized eyelids might seem minor but it made me pretty self conscious (and was even more obvious when wearing makeup), so I decided to go for the surgery after several consultations with Dr. Baker. He did a great job of setting very realistic expectations with me about possible different outcomes. You really don't want someone overpromising and under-delivering in this situation, so I really appreciated his honesty and knowledge he shared with me about the complexities of a minor operation like this. I've attached a photo which shows the differences before and after the operation. There were two situations before - the eyelid would either be much thicker than the other and look very uneven (top photo - note: eyes are dilated because I just came from an eye exam) or it would struggle to fold at all and I would end up with 2-3 folds at the same time (middle photo). After my surgery, now my eyelids basically look identical! (bottom photo). I couldn't be happier with the results as they far exceeded my expectations. I was also nervous about the surgery but it was so quick and easy (maybe 45 minutes?), and everyone was very professional and made me feel very comfortable. The healing process also wasn't nearly as bad as I had imagined it would be. The incision healed in about a week and then I let the eyelid rest for about another 2 months just to be on the safe side. Overall, a great experience and I am so glad I spent the money to have this done!

I went to Dr. Baker in sept/2016 to ask his advice on a problem I was having with a certain spectrum of light, I didn't see him but I was put thru a whole bunch of tests I still don't know what for, then contacted and told he couldn't help me with a procedure I absolutely was not there for. The 2nd appointment I was put thru the exact same tests, with a bonus re-test since I'd been left for so long it had expired, which aggravated substantially an already sensitive issue. I waited for 3 hours and got a couple distracted , interrupted, and very overbooked minutes with a Doctor who had no idea why I was there and no interest in helping me. By far the most unprofessional appointment ever.

I’ve donated nine pairs of glasses recently that I will never need again. Dr. Stephen Baker has exceeded all my expectations. I’ve had two intraocular lenses implanted by Dr. Baker, about a month apart. In his office, Dr. Baker took the time to explain the procedure in easy-to-understand terms. My questions were fully answered. The surgeries took about 15 minutes and were completely pain-free. The first few days after surgery my vision was fuzzy, but I was able to see very clearly after seven days. Dr. Baker’s office is very efficient. I never waited more than five minutes to be seen. I am an 89 year old woman who had cataract surgery lately with Dr. Baker. He implanted Intraocular Speciality Lenses in each eye. The results were truly amazing. The day after my first surgery I drove without glasses for the first time in 50 years. The whole procedure was smooth and painless. Dr. Baker’s staff are kind and efficient, as were the nurses at the Jubilee. They explained the procedure beforehand and were extremely caring. I do not need glasses now for anything. What a miracle.
