Unreliable. Website and phone recording says open on Saturday from 1 to 5 pm. I went at 4 pm and it was closed. This is the second time this happens. I went on a different occasion for a different issue and same thing on a Saturday. They don't respect their hours of businesses as advertised.

The wait is significantly shorter than other walk-in clinics, and when you see the doctor, they do a thorough exam instead of hurrying you through so they can get to the next patient. The staff is very pleasant and friendly.

I can't say enough good things about this place! The receptionist was warm and she welcomed me from the front desk when I walked in. I had a very short wait and in no time was seen by Dr. Leo Wisniowski. He was prompt, respectful, he answered my questions and had a great bedside manner, I was so pleased with the care I received. Dr Jabeen and her staff are very nice people but I have one huge complaint that has been an issue since going to this office. When you call the office, the message says that their policy is not to refill prescriptions and that you need to schedule an appointment. At my appt, Dr Jabeen told me that I needn't come in for an appointment to refill my medication, just call. So, following instructions, I called. I was told that I needed to schedule an appointment even though I had just seen the doctor two weeks prior and she told me I didn't need to come in. Another time, my elderly mother had an upcoming appointment the following week but I was told that they couldn't give her a refill of her B/P medication until she was seen by her doctor! I explained the situation but was basically told, sorry, can't help you. I couldn't get her in any sooner and she went a week without it. I have had this happen several times. My question is, why can't staff look back at the patient's record and check when the last appointment was and when the next one is? This does not make any sense. My pharmacy sent request after request and they were ignored. This is a policy that needs to change.

The front office staff are wonderful at this location. The front office staff are organized and they listen to the patient at this location. The front office staff at this location go above and beyond to ensure patients get the care that they require. I just can't say enough good things about the front office staff at this locations. I really appreciate the front office staff here.

My wife called for a walk-in appointment and was provided an appointment for a few hours later. Their Covid protocol has patients wait in their cars on arrival and are called when ready to be see by the doctor. The call came at the appointment time. The staff was very nice and courteous. She met with Dr Lisa Griffin who was very nice and caring. She took the time to listen and examine my wife's injury. She provided comforting advice and carefully explained how to apply the prescription. At no time did my wife feel rushed. She was very pleased with her visit. Thank you Dr. Griffin and staff for the outstanding service.

The worst place ever, never ever go there again. You should wait ages for just a walk-in inc or even an appointment. Their staff are not friendly at all, they treat patients very rudely, their face are grumpy and they never even smile. I prefer stay sick at home rather than going over there. You can ask anyone who visited their, they will definitely provide the same feedback. I don't recommend that place at all.drive more or walk more to different clinic will be much better than going to this place.

Their doctors are uncaring, constantly pass the buck, and are generally very unhelpful. On top of that, it's almost impossible to get a hold of someone over the phone as the line is almost always busy. Also, notes and paperwork are $15/page.

Yesterday they said I'd have to make a phone call appointment, didn't have any availability on that day, and to call before 11am cause they get fully booked by then. Today I called 5 times before 11, nobody picked up. Called after 11, told me to hold while they check availability, then hung up on me.

The staff were terrible to me. 4 women were sitting behind a desk with plexiglass and refused to do anything for me. I have a UTI which is pretty painful and last time I had one it affected my kidneys, They told me to go home and call them. I asked why I had to do that and they said they had to do an assessment and I said OK do it now. No, I had to go home and call them. I couldn't believe this. Finally, after much discussion one of them said she would do the assessment. So I had to go outside while she stood at the half closed door and asked me questions with people standing around. Seems you have to have Covid 19 before you matter as a person.... I am 80 years old.

This was by far the worst experience I've had at a clinic. I went in with a lot of anxiety and concern about my stomach pains and the doctor showed me zero emotions. She was cold and clearly was just on to the next patient. She gave me a prescription that is not necessary for what my ailments are. She didn't even seem sure it would be helpful. She didn't give me any sort of physical examination or check up whatsoever. I feel more stressed now than I did before and am now searching for alternatives. In my opinion, go elsewhere if you want to be treated with respect.

Was not willing to help with a referral, I ended up using emergency services for referral which puts a strain on their services... Not good right now! The Royal college website also suggests that help with referral to walk in patients should be accessible so not entirely sure what the ethics and morals of the doctor were here... Particularly as I informed her my gland had been consistently rock solid for months...

I arrived for an appointment at the Scotia Med clinic only to be scolded by the lady at the front desk for being late. I explained I was actually early but she continued. There was no reasoning with her, she was angry at the world. I simply left because she continued to scold me and would not let up. Mainly writing this for the sake of newcomers. I've seen some bad reviews here and I don't want it to affect any new business as my opinion is so strong towards Dr. Cheah. He is hands down the best doctor I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. He has gone above and beyond for my Family and I for over 40 years. He was my family doctor before he became a walk in. He remembers my family history even after all this time. He has always cared deeply about his patients, his passion for his line of work is incredible and I have refused to even see my own family doctor so many times and make the decision to come into Dr.Cheahs office instead. The staff Here at Scotia Med are great, and they are often busy however it is worth the wait if you have the chance of seeing Dr.Cheah.

If you are looking for genuine medical care or referrals, don't go here. Upon arrival the lady at reception seemed quite irritable with myself and the other people coming in amd was rather rude. I waited over 3 hours to finally see a doctor who didn't actually listen to what my concern was and just started writing a prescription for antibiotics within the first 10 seconds of seeing him for something that I was hoping to get a referral for a dermatologist for. I was adamant on expressing my ongoing concern to him and he just ignored it and moved me out of the office within under a minute of being there. Im appalled at how bad our health system has got if this is the service we receive, especially for how high of taxes we pay in this province. Extremely irritated about this. I felt like screaming on my way out of their office.

So I just moved to Canada from the states and this was my first experience with health care. My family lives in other parts of Canada and they never complain but this was a horrible first experience for me. I went in for help with a skin cancer on my chest. The doctor was impersonal, looked bothered and actually asked me what kind of cancer it was! How do I know! She didnt even look at it. It could be the worst kind. But how the hec do I know!

I have only had really positive experiences there. I've been there about 4 or 5 times now and every doctor has been really great. They genuinely care about your health and will talk to you about any questions you may have. Once I went in for a symptom caused by anxiety and the doctor brought in his puppy. No meds, just pups.

COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT CLINIC. LOOK AT THE REVIEWS PEOPLE. Tried to see a walk-in doctor today, NO LUCK. Tried to speak to a receptionist but the door was locked to screen patients before being buzzed in like a prison. USELESS staff in reception, small intercom with little volume, yelling into the intercom for advice on doctors offices/clinics that I could see in HRM? Nasty middle-aged female KAREN type, with grey/blonde hair, due a salon appointment, telling me the office is "NOT EQUIPPED" to (DOUBLE VACCINATED WITH FACEMASK) help? I will never go back or have anything to do with that clinic, or its parent company. I hope the Doc's look at this KAREN and see how truly useless she is in general everyday conversations.

Very efficiently run clinic. Arrived early and took a number only two people ahead of me. The Doctor was courteous and professional. In and out in less than 40 minutes. I felt very lucky as two of the walk-in clinics near me are no longer open. Thanks Scotia Med.

Love my doctor (Dr Michael), but since they updated phone lines over a year ago it’s damn near impossible to get someone to answer. I maybe get someone to pick up 10% of the time. No option to email. No option to leave a message. They don’t answer the phone from 12-1, but I tried yesterday at 11:55 and already set to answering machine (no message option.) Very frustrating. Been trying to call to cancel an appointment for two days now.

This walk in clinic has been a life saver for our family. Both Dr Chee and Dr Sabean are without exception professional, thorough and kind. The secretary is nice as well. The waiting can be a couple hours but it's usually quicker then other walk in clinics.

We love Dr Lisa Griffin. She was so fantastic as our obstetrician! She is kind, caring, attentive to details and overall a super nice person. We were lucky to have her deliver our baby. Anyone who is luck enough to have her as a Doctor should be thankful :D That being said, the support staff, administrative personnel have been extremely rude, not very helpful and difficult to deal with. That's the only reason I have to give the clinic a 1/5 review. Lisa is a 5/5.

I needed to go on my lunch break so I thought I would call first to avoid showing up and not being able to stay due to a long wait time. I called 3 times and got no answer at all even when the phone rang about 2+ minutes. When I showed up I found out the wait was too long. I commented on having tried to call and was told they don't take appointments over the phone. I told her I was just trying to find out the wait time, she didn't say another word, no apology or anything. I will not be back. I work at a an off site receptionist company and this is clearly what they need when no one can answer. This was so unprofessional.

Dr Jabeen is wonderful! I prefer a female doctor and was very lucky that she accepted me as a patient. I went in when I had a chest infection, which was when I first met her. She is very efficient, getting to the point quickly, wasting no time, so there is only a short wait for other patients. The front staff are really nice and friendly too. The best Walk in Clinic ever!

I arrived 30 minutes before the 1 oclock open time to wait in a line of people outside the door which was no big deal, as thats what i was expecting, however It has now been 35 minutes AFTER the time the clinic has opened, and no doctor has shown up yet. There is about 20 people in the waiting room, who i assume do not have time to waste waiting for a doctor who clearly does not care about her/his job. VERY unprofessional. I went in to get a prescription for a UTI, and was given a prescription for a fingernail fungus. I was unaware i had recieved the wrong perscription and it wasnt until the pharmasist informed me the perscription i was given was not what i needed, and would actually harm me if i were to take it given the fact that i did not have a fingernail fungus, simply just a UTI. This place is Absolutely horrible.

Called at noon on a Sunday. A friendly human answers the phone, which is a rarity these days. Appointment booked for same day. Due to covid, I must wait outside in my vehicle prior to entering office. Call arrives at exact time I have appointment scheduled. Enter office, doctor sees me within 5 minutes. Thorough assessment completed and I'm back out in 10 minutes. This is how a clinic should operate. Efficient, fast and professional. 5 stars.

I go here often and I usually get in to see someone within an hour. The doctor is very knowledgable and friendly. Only thing I would change: When a new person arrives it can be confusing what the process is because theres no indication or signs to explain (you take a number and sit until the number is called) they should create a sign.

While the receptionist was friendly and helpful - my recent experience is similar to those that you see here. I saw someone mention a male doctor who was great - I saw someone there like that once and if it was the same guy - then yes it was great. Today however, not so much. Started with doctor being about 30 minutes late so the waiting room was getting packed. When I got in - no physical examination at all - asked about the problem and if I had it before - she wrote the prescription out but I had to explain the dosage to her that I had last time. I’m not a pharmacist so I explained it 3 times to make sure it was clear. Dropped off the prescription (return 45 minutes later) and the pharmacist picked up on something not quite right. I confirmed it wasn’t right and didn’t match the previous prescription. They called the doctor to confirm and the doctor wouldn’t call back. Multiple calls and the receptionist said she passed it on and the doctor was coming to call etc. 3.5 hours since I showed up and still nothing. Really shows that the doctor looks at the clinic as charity work to get a cheque and doesn’t care at all about patients. Meds were for inflammation and pain - would have been nice to have some relief. Might be better to go elsewhere or check which doctor is on duty - might want to avoid Dr. Jabeen.

I visited this place last Wednesday, the ‘doctor’ had absolutely no idea how to answer my questions having told them my symptoms. He almost seemed bothered by me asking questions. He frequently left the room to ask a different doctor questions (I believe he was a student) which was confusing and unprofessional. I eventually went to see the ‘doctor’ (I was there for about 50 minutes) and received no greeting of introduction of her name. Furthermore, I WAS WRONGLY PRESCRIBED ANTIBIOTICS which made me 1000 times more sick than I was!!! I have only just gathered the energy to type this after having to go to hospital two days after and taking 3 days off work because of something that was so avoidable! She had a bunch of her certificates on the wall but not one of them stated she was actually a doctor. My experience here was awful and I have never known such terrible medical care. I was nervous to go as this was my first Canadian healthcare experience and I really avoid going to a doctor unless it is really needed. I am so upset about how they dealt with me, it took a 6.5 hour wait in an emergency room two days later to be informed that I did not have what the doctors at ScotiaMed had diagnosed me with and that I should stop taking the antibiotics immediately. TERRIBLE.

Made an appointment with dr jabean. Showed up for my appointment and she wasn't in the office that day. The receptionist said there was a walk in but I needed my prescriptions filled cause they run out the next day. If she's not going to be in they should call to let you know. Some people can't go days or even a week without their medication and as a doctor she's very aware of that.

Wonderful staff all around, receptionists are lovely and they're quick to get you in, I've seen Dr. Cheah a few times now and he is always such a pleasure, he's very kind, always has a smile and listens to your concerns and makes you feel very comfortable. Went in for a serious knee injury. Waited over 3 hours for a walk-in appointment despite the website saying it would be an estimated 45 minute wait. Once I got in, the doctor did not even physically examine my knee, just looked at it and asked me how I did it. Told me it was nothing serious and said if I wanted I could go to physio, then essentially shoved me out the door when I tried to ask questions. After a couple months when my knee didn't get better I went to another clinic and it was revealed I had completely ruptured my ACL.

I have a regular doctor but when I'm in a rush, I go to this clinic. I always make sure its Dr. Cheea before I go in. He listens, cares, and is personable. I had a terrible experience with Dr. Jabean. She is completely unprofessional.

My dad needed a complete physical exam and a written report of any diagnosis. The reception said the doctor's handwriting is hard to read but reassured us we would get what we needed. So we paid $75 cash and waited for 2 hours. My dad was barely examined and we left with chicken scratch on a piece of paper. Before we left, I voiced concern and was basically told too bad. Such a terrible way to be treated.

DO NOT VISIT! NO MATTER HOW BAD YOU NEED IT, DO NOT VISIT THEM. Would give them 0 stars if that was possible. I met one of the doctors which unfortunately i did not get their name (older brown lady). Went there after a week of being in pain and not being able to book an appointment with my family doctor. The doctor then proceeded to tell me that im fine and not in pain and tell me to take tylenol 500mg when i was already taking tylenol1 with codeine and it was not working. Wasted about 10 mins in here before i decided to walk out the clinic and go see a real doctor. Im not sure what the deal is with this place but i promise you, you wont find any help here. Will further follow up after i get the doctors name to make a formal complaint!

Giving one star because I cant give zero. Our second time there, and they were rude the first time, shame on them, rude the second time, shame on us, if we stayed - we didn't. The doctor, the first time, delivered a vaccine to my then 3yr old with no regard for the child; took him, held him in a vice grip, injected him, & left him crying, for me to pick up the pieces, not even attempting to do anything to reduce the trauma or soothe the child. Just an attitude of let me get this over and done with and get on with whatever else I have to do that is priority. Second time, the receptionists, where to start? Here is a list: 1. Screen you on COVID through an intercom system at the door. Surely, what if your client is in distress, you will not even triage or stabilize this person because you have not even deigned to see them. You screen people through an intercom and only let them in if they answer your screening questions to your satisfaction. Really? 2. Our minor elective surgery was cash only. No card, no interac, no credit, just cold cash. Why? It begs the obvious question: Are you paying your fair share of tax? You would not even commit to honoring the appointment until the cash was in hand. 3. You were rude. Rude because we were slightly late. Rude because we had not brought any cash with us. Rude because we gave you the smallest inconvenience by being a bit late and not having cash. Rude to people who you were to offer an elective surgery (for an infant) to, when you should be anything but rude to people you are offering an elective surgery (for an infant!) to. Why? Why are you repeatedly so poor at care and at service? And are you equally rude to all people, or is it reserved for families like mine? Families of colour?

Went in to be checked if the chest congestion I had could be moving on to something worse. We waited an hour and a half in chairs and then I spent 20 min waiting in the office. The man who came in introduced himself by his name but didn't say Dr. he had a clipboard intake form with him but there was no computerized system he could call up my records on. He asked me what was wrong, and told me he was certain it was a bad cold and ushered me out within 3 min. He didn't do any exam at all. I tried to follow up but he was already at the door tossing back that if it worsened I should come back. I am never going here again. It could not be more clear this is a money machine not a Dr. office.

Doctor gave me a prescription that is not indicated in my condition and can cause my condition and refused to order the investigation that she said I need. I told receptionist that I wanted to book an appointment so the doctor could order a test I need. She said sure. The doctor told me that "they" (NSHA diagnostic imaging?) don't pay attention to requisitions from walk-in clinics so therefore she would not order it. This was a ridiculous waste of my time.

Always receive great medical care when myself or my family need care. Staff are compassionate, actively listen to what you are telling them, and come up with a treatment plan. My family have been going here for years, we have a GP, and we've never had an issue. Sometimes wait times can be long but I've never waited more than an hour at this location.

Very bad , don t go here the doctor dosen t have a clue what he is doing , seems he dosen t give the right medication , had an ear problem and game me meds for dizzyness , then the pharmacist told me not to take this and she would refund me , after reading all of the reviews this should be a stark warning not to go here and get a couple opinions before taking any meds , gonna talk with at least 2 more doctors Tomorrow and see what they say , but something is not right at this place , thank god i didn t take the meds he gave me god it would have done nothing , why would he give me meds for dizzyness if im not dizzy at all or ever have been ! first time i have ever seen this , will update after talking with couple Different doctors this week

It is nearly impossible to call there. Then they tell you to call back at a certain time and not only does nobody answer, but there is no way to leave a message. I have no idea if the information I dropped off ever even got to my Doctor because her secretary wasn't there and the other receptionist seemed incredibly confused that I would ask to put my envelope of personal information directly on my doctors desk. I've been trying to call all week to confirm of it was recieved by her but out of atleast 20 calls, at various times of day, on various days, I have still yet to get a human on the phone.

Doctors routinely show up late. Very unprofessional! People's health is at stake but all they seem to care about is how much they can bill. What happened to the doctor's oath of putting the patient before profit?

Good experience , Doctor Jabeen was very kind and listened to my concern about my medical issue no rush . Staff out front was great ???? it was my 1st time there today I will be going back expecially for the kindness of the doctor . Usually I'm very anxious about doctors but this doctor changed that today for me . I've been sick for sometime now but she gave me meds that is already helping me . Finally ... Thank You ????

Tried to get in with my 10 month old and 3 year old, after trying to get through on the phoneline to make the same day appointment, I finally got through. When answering the Covid screening questions, I answered 'Yes' that they had a cough, but they had a negative covid test 2 days ago. They told me that are not equipped to see any patients with a cough or a fever. Does that mean before covid they didn't see any patient with a cough or a fever?!? No where on their website does it mention this nor on the signage on the front door. I wasted 2 mornings of trying to get my children an appointment there, to find out they wouldn't even be seem because of a cough even with a negative covid test.

I had to take my daughter in due to, still not having a doctor or a walk in, on Thursday in sackville. The staff was great. The receptionist was wonderful. Loved watching her with the young kids. Doctor was funny. He ask my daughter the question, not me. Made my daughter feel important. Best walk in I have been to since I moved to nova Scotia.

Absolutely not happy with whole process. The amount of waiting it takes to see doctor everytime is insane though its scheduled appointment. You are easily waiting there for an hour or more. I think they definetly need to learn time management skills n respect the appointment time. The staff is rude too.

I had a wonderful experience here when I wasn't able to get an appointment with my family doctor. Dr. Cheah was kind, caring and knowledgeable. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, I felt like they went above and beyond. Appointment system is super efficient - my appointment was exactly on time! We are lucky to have this clinic in NS. First off, I will say I have visited this facility numerous times over the last 8(ish) years & had never had an issue. I have an excellent family doctor but for something needing prompt attention, I normally go to this walk in leaving with nothing short of a great experience. Unfortunately, the experience I had today has completely overridden my past experiences and I will never step foot in this office again. Without stating my symptoms - I went in & patiently waited for over 2 hours. I've never had to wait this long at this specific clinic but that comes with the territory so I wasn't bothered. Until it was my time to see the doctor. It was a physician I not only had never been a patient of, but I hadn't ever seen him in that office before. I was off work for the previous 5 days. I told him my symptoms & mentioned a couple things it could've possibly been, but due to specifically back problems spreading down to my legs I was hoping to get checked out & have an answer. This physician didn't do so much as take my temperature, not to mention he spent no more than 30 seconds listening to me before rushing me out & he did not touch a piece of medical equipment while I was in the room. He then tried to charge me for a sick note in which I did not ask for. I asked for medical attention, not a free pass off work. I need to work, so the point of this trip was to hopefully get me back there asap. Instead, I left in tears basically refused to be helped. I called to bring it to the attention of the receptionist & not only was she insanely rude, she almost seemed she was insincerely apologizing in a mocking tone. An hour later I called & asked to speak to whoever was in charge of the clinic. That lady asked me in a snarky tone, "Well what would you have liked him to do?" Enough said, I think. I couldn't be more disappointed. Really goes to show who is there for a paycheque and who is there for the right reasons. Sadly, the latter seems to have been taken over. Hopefully none of you get the Dr I was paired up with today.

Office staff are lovely, though extremely busy. Lisa Griffin is amazing, definitely the best walk-in doctor I've been to in HRM.
