Always great service when I go. Reception has always been prompt and friendly. The nurses have been great, and my doctor is second to none! So glad I'm a patient there.

Been on a waiting list for over 2 years. Called to change my contact information and they told me they can't and I have to "wait for my application to expire" and reapply. Can't reapply. Can't be contacted at my old number. I selected email as a preferred contact method on the form, they told me they don't contact by email. Terrible.

Clinic has gone downhill… fast. I don’t even know who my doctor is anymore..every time I call I get scheduled with someone different. You can blame covid all you want —but the way this clinic runs their d2d is unacceptable.

Had dr. Blake as a dr..found his staff to be extreamly rude and unable to own up to any of thier own mistakes ..when asked to speak with dr blake directly I was denied and told he wouldnt speak with me over the phone...I told his staff if hes unable to speak with his patients that I didnt want em for a dr and to give my spot to someone else...seems like everytime I needed a dr I could never get in not even for emergency ...his office re scheduled a missed appointment without telling me the new appt date then charged me for missing it ...very unprofessional and very little communication between dr and his patients...and again his secretary is extreamly rude and not helpful in any way...my 10 yr old has better communication skills...if ya hate ur job that much find a new one cause ur costing dr blake patients now with ur customer service skills...you need to find a job in and I back rm not interacting with the public...wonder how many co-workers have to put up with her bitchy attitude besides all of em.....

Dr.Blake is completely biased about ADHD. Shouldn't have to go through more testing and have meds held hostage because it was a previous family doctor who had prescribed it. Shouldn't have to keep proving ADHD when Its a life long diagnosis. I find this to be unethical and stigmatizing.

Dr amiee larronde was a great doctor besides when she was on maternity leave the backup doctors were not very nice. The staff there is not very cheerful neither pleasant.

Martina Moore

If I could put no stars or negative stars I would. My family and I had Dr. Blake as a doctor for about 4-5 years. We have had issues with him and his staff from the beginning. He leaked confidential information about a family member. He doesn't care about his patients, he always seems like he doesn't want to be there. The whole time Ive been his patient, ive had to fill out my intake forms 3 times, because I was taken off his roster, or they didn't have them in the files. I would NEVER recommend this doctor to anyone. He does not have his patients interest in mind at all.

Pamela S

That's pretty bad when you can't find a patients file that has a doctor there.

All of my family goes to this clinic with different doctors. We are all very happy with them. My doctor is very helpful and listens to my concerns.

Charon Styx River

Although I have had no problems with the doctors or staff at this Clinic. Doctors have been very helpful and professional. I do have some issues with the Clinic itself. Phone is rarely answered. Open 4-1/2 days a week, 1-1/2 hr lunch break. I thought that this was a public health clinic but it seems to be run as a private clinic.

Red head receptionist is the worst and Dr Blake is completely incompetent. The others aren't too bad

Difficult to reach. Office has no compassion. Rude.

I’ve been a patient here since it opened and every visit here is very uncomfortable, to the point where I have stopped going. The doctor’s staff should be friendly and smiling and they are not either of these things. Like many others, I am not comfortable sharing the reason for my medical visit with the receptionist. Receptionists should not be asking the reason for the medical visit or the reason for cancellation. The office should join the 21st century and have online appointment booking and electronic communication with the doctor. Dr. Edie does not know what he is doing and he has a bad attitude. He is judgemental, rude, hostile, lacks compassion, inexperienced, condescending, unhelpful, ignorant about many conditions, and is incapable of thinking for himself. It’s a good general rule that family members and spouses should not be at the same clinic (no exceptions). There is Dr. Edie and his wife at Northern Shores, and it is not professional. You’d think that the provider would want for the patient what he would want for himself, but that is not the case because apparently the standards are lower when it comes to the patient. I feel badly for anyone that sees him because he stereotypes patients and lets his personal biases negatively impact care. It takes a very long time to get an appointment and he only wanted to deal with one issue during appointments which is frowned upon by the College.

Ashley Turcotte

Doctor is lovely. Nurse on the other hand has some untrue things to gossip and apparently doesnt like being asked questions. Probably shouldn’t talk about your patients right outside their exam room. Door closed doesn’t mean sound proof. Absolutely ridiculous.

Andrew

The worst experience from day one. The staff are poorly trained and obtuse at best and the disability act means nothing. The doctor Blackadar was incompitant at best and I lost part of my heel because of his inaction. Also bragged about his knowledge of diabetes wrong I was on the wrong insulin and other meds that have all been successfully adjusted by sudbury diabetes center. I was a patient for 4 years and happy we parted ways. This place is one patient away from a wrongful death or negligent suit. I waited a period of time before editing this review. Within 48 hours all of a sudden there were 2 five star reviews on this doctor rebuking my review I suspect that these are fraudulent reviews likely paid for by north shore to cover up bad reviews to the rate of 2 to 1. That is the level they have to stoop. Thank god I don deal with them anymore and it only took a few months to get a new doctor that has also had many complaints about this clinic. Shame on you Jonathan Blackadar and Northern shores

Unprofessional. Have to push to get tests done. Have to push harder to get the results. Dr Edie DOES NOT want you to be a participant in your healthcare. Seems to feel everyone is a druggie and does not like continuing prescriptions that have been in place for years. 2 weeks or more for a prescription renewal. When test results come back, you are NOT informed of the results, what it means, or what to do. Cannot be reached for days. Go to ER when you can't get them. ER calls him, he says it's nothing, they won't do anything. Looking for new doctor. Hell, a vet gives better service! Negative one star.

erin fitzer

I am a nervous wreck at the doctors. Always have been. Dr. Blackadar has made my experience very comforting and welcoming and always has answered all my questions and concerns to his fullest. No one likes going to these places, but his communication and guidance are on point!

Benjamin Munro

Dr. Blake is unable to talk to his patients and his receptionists are rude, confusing and never adhered to the 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. lunch times. I have been trying to get out of this practice for a while. All while awaiting test results from august. Awful.

Thrina Shwatz

I love Dr. Edie! He is thoughtful and caring. He has been so understanding and positive throughout my cancer treatment.

Impossible to get through via phone. Impossible to get a reasonable appointment. Doctor goes on mat leave and they don't have a replacement for 3 months. Receptionists are condescending and have no sympathy. Given an appointment card with incorrect date and then denied appointment because of their error.

Beverley Decker

After almost 8 months on a wait list. I now have a family doctor of 3 plus years My appointments are not bad to book. However it's always rushed by phone calls that my doctor has to take . Cutting my appointment short of course. Then I'm rushed My doctor has laughed at me for asking for certain paper work done , because I walked in on my own accord. The federal government disagreed with the doctor 2 years ago I went with concerns of place on my face, oh its nothing....it wasn't nothing , it was cancer. 2 days ago I get a call from the secretary! Not my dr. Saying my 3 biopsies were not able to determine if I have cancer or not . Not even close to good enough. I get better vet care for my dog

Put my application in for a doctor 11 months ago. Called four times after a six month wait as per usual waiting period I was told. Called four separate times to find out where I was on the waiting list. Was told they would call back. Finally on the last call I made, I was told that they did not have my application and that I would need to reapply and wait another six months. Very frustrating process and incompetent handling of the situation.

Summer Houston

Absolutely love the service and care. Doctor Giordano always listens, And you can tell he genuinely cares about your well being. And the secretaries are always very pleasant.

G Hubert

Horrible staff horrible doctor. Staff literally lies to your face, is rude, arrogant and inconsiderate. Gauthier is not only lacking medical education and knowledge but also unpleasant, and consistently over prescribed drugs and will change your medication even if you don't agree. Stay away, this isn't a real doctor. Records will not be produced when asked for, and legislation is not complied with. I don't know how Gauthier has a license to practice.

Jill Thompson

I really like my family doctor however the receptionists at this clinic are terrible. Very unprofessional and insensitive. It's nearly impossible to get someone over the phone and when you do, you're treated poorly.

Previous review - 3 stars. I am rating two stars because as my "family doctor", their next available appointment is apparently nearly two months away. Very, very disappointed...

Chantel Davis

I've been a patient along with my family for almost 3 years. We have never had an issues with our doctor/ staff or getting appointments. Always a friendly environment. With such a shortage of doctors in North Bay area this clinic has been much needed blessing. People should be happy to even have a family doctor when so many do not.

Elizabeth Harris

When attending appointments I didn't mind this clinic, my doctor of 5 years worked in this clinic. But when it came time to obtain my medical records from them after I moved they told me I had to pay 50$ for a missed appointment before they would release them. Fair enough, I paid the 50$ and requested they fax my medical records to my new doctor for my on going high risk pregnancy, they agreed. Come to find out 3 weeks later they still have not sent them. When I woke with them they stated that they will not fax my records, they will mail them when they get a chance. Stating they can't fax it because they have over 1000 patients and they don't have the time to fax records for every patient... still it has been 6 weeks now, still no medical records. Also they dropped me as a patient because I moved an hour and 30 mins away, mid pregnancy.

Dr. Gauthier is funny, down to earth and gave me the best physical I think I've ever had. The two ladies at reception were polite and professional. A very positive experience:)

This is Al, not MJ. I use my Wife's account. My Doctor is Dr. Gauthier. She's a good Doctor but I called about Month ago to inquire about a vaccination exemption due to the fact that I suffered from Gillian Bare syndrome. It's been a Month. I know she's super busy but when the office took the time to call my Wife to wish her a happy birthday? I just wanted a yes or no answer so I could ask someone else.

Shawn Davidson-Parker

I don't get why people aren't enjoying their experience here. wait times for appointments sometimes take a bit and hard to get through over the phone.. but the receptionist are lovely, doctors are amazing and I always get what i need to get down when there. Quick in and out

It is difficult to reach the office by phone, even during business hours, which are very limited for people who work full time, and I cannot leave a message at any time. Office staff are disorganized and have access to my full medical file, which is a privacy complaint waiting to happen. Faxes to the clinic from the pharmacy regularly go missing. Office staff are unprofessional and condescending. Nurses are disrespectful. I cannot email my doctor. I cannot change doctors within the clinic so I’m stuck with the same underperforming, undereducated, inexperienced provider. Most clinics in Southern Ontario allow patients to email their doctor and it leads to better care. My husband has had difficulty accessing a same day appointment on a number of occasions. They don’t offer next day appointments or enough after hours care thus violating their agreement with the Ministry. Front line staff need to be better educated about what kind of issues are deserving of a same day appointment. Self-serving doctor does not listen well because he thinks my thoughts and opinions are unimportant, is stingy with testing, doesn’t do physical examinations, has a superiority complex, does not contact me if there are abnormal test results, is dismissive, dictatorial, indifferent, not knowledgeable, insulting, and close-minded. Dr. Edie made an unfounded accusation about my partner, which caused stress in our family. Appointments are rushed but I am unable to book an appointment that is an appropriate length of time. It’s unsurprising that he is still accepting patients because he treats me like I am a nuisance, and doesn’t want me to be a participant in my own healthcare, contrary to what it says on their welcome sheet. It should be the patient who decides how often they need to see the provider, not the provider and staff deciding this. Clinic has poor policies. For example, it takes them two weeks to complete a prescription renewal, and all controlled medications have to be renewed by appointment only, and it takes months to get an appointment. I think they should charge me an annual fee for a basket of services instead of requiring appointments for every little thing. Their entire system is inefficient, creates unnecessary appointments, and is based on the incorrect opinion that all of their patients have a substance abuse problem. Staff should be collecting feedback from the community regularly. Just because there is a “doctor shortage” in the city, does not make it acceptable for the clinic to treat me poorly. Enrollment in the Health Care Connect program is supposed to be voluntary, but Northern Shores makes it mandatory.

BEST DOCTOR EVER, Giordano -actually cares. Staff is Courteous & Efficient, Pharmacy awesome as well.

Joyce Prior

i was very disappointed when an important document was filed away for close to two months. i never received a phone call, i was told my documents would be sent. thankfully i investigated to see if my documents had been received. one phone call from the office staff would of been appreciated it takes a minute to do a good job. working in a medical office i was taught the patient is your customer. treat with a bit of respect
