Nice guy. Caring and helpful..

Had a phone conversation with this doctor, he was very rude, condescending and dismissive. He told me that my symptoms were not possible (even though I still actually do experience them). He told me that they won't even consider looking at the nodule that is on my thyroid gland because it is too small; this seemed to be his primary criteria. He was mildly reassuring that it wasn't cancer because of a previous biopsy done 5 years prior and its size being small. And then, because I had missed an appointment that had been scheduled for 2 years after that initial appointment because I was living in a different province, he decided to lecture me about taking responsibility and not blaming health care professionals. He said "When I get an appointment, I put it on the fridge and then I show up. You have to take responsibility." (which I did by apologizing for missing the appointment) I understand I could have let their office know that I wasn't in the Ontario Health system anymore (and was living a 5-hour plane ride away) but it was 2 YEARS between appointments and I had moved several times. It was a simple mistake. It would have been fine if he had been more matter of fact and if he had actually behaved with a little compassion; instead of patronizing me. All that being said, my appointment was rescheduled twice on their end without anyone actually acknowledging the inconvenience. What makes it worse is that he is the only one in the area. Not good.

Upon hearing my moms experience with this doctor I could not help but leave a review. This situation happened a few years ago but it does not sit right with me to ignore. My mother has had some issues with her thyroid and came to this doctor in hope to get some advice, help, answers, anything. While in there he proceeded to ask her why she took a certain medication (that was prescribed to her) and when she answered his question he yelled that she was wrong and threw the medication bottle at her. A doctor should not be using an aggressive attitude like that with someone who is in a really difficult and negative situation and just needing some help. She shouldn't have gotten bashed for medication that she took. He should not be in this profession if he continues to treat his patients like this in my opinion.

Find someone else. He doesn’t explain anything, he barely even speaks to you. He makes mistakes and blames his staff for them. Says one thing then wants another. Worst doctor ever. His Niagara Falls office staff are so unfriendly, but then again I would be too if I had to work for him.
