This Doctor corresponds to the category of Lasik surgeon.
I have worn glasses for most of my life I've wanted to get Lasik for quite a number of years. It has been about two weeks since i got it done and I'm very glad that I did! Everybody at London Eye Center was great and Doctor Nawaaz Nathoo was fantastic, very skilled and professional not to mention highly recommended by people i know. 5 stars!
Can’t say enough good things. Went in for my procedure, in and out within the hour, was seeing 20/20 within a few hours after the procedure. Wish I did this years ago!
Considering lasering your eyes? Remember, you only have one set of eyes and therefore, you only want the BEST to perform on them! I had surgery done at London Eye Centre 17 years ago and just had them re-lasered (for free!). Both times, I encountered only highly competent staff, super accomodating and professional. I Can only highly recommend LONDON EYE CENTRE!
I had my surgery last October 2016 and I could not be happier! Consultation is free and the staff are really nice, friendly and accomodating. One of the reasons I chose London Eye Centre is the all inclusive price. The eye check-up, medications, follow-ups are all included. I don't have to worry about extra or hidden fees. I already referred my family and friends! The only thing I regret is not having the surgery sooner! Totally the best investment!
If I was you...I would not go anywhere else. I say this because I did plenty of research...after all its my eye...I looked around for 2 years. Finally I read about this place...had great reviews...but I naturally I take nothing at face value...for I have spent my working life as a researcher. But 100,000 procedures, over 30 years operating, I got in touch. They responded back right away...and gave a free consultation. I went today, and learned from Steve that I actually don't need to do any procedures. He told me I have what they call monovision...so I am better of not getting laser...I had wanted PRK...my optometrist had recommended it. Would have cost me $1600, but Steve told me to save my money...get buying cheap glasses would be sufficient to correct my vision. WOW...he thought about what was best for me...and not the money that he could make. That's why I decided to write this review and tell those who read it that this is the place to go if you need to have the right people take care of your eyes.
I had PRK done in May of this year (2012). I agree with the previous reviewer that the stated recovery time is a little misleading. I work at a computer all day, and it was several weeks before it was comfortable to be at work without taking frequent breaks. That said, my vision is quite good now. My right eye didn't correct to 20/20, but it's not noticeable unless I close my left eye, and it's certainly good enough to get around, drive, work, etc. If for some reason it worsens it may need a 'touch-up' in the future, but for now it doesn't bother me enough to worry about. There is something spectacular about waking up in the morning and being able to see without fumbling for my glasses on the nightstand. Definitely worth the money.
It was a good experience
Great
Had my surgery there, best money I ever spent. Staff are awesome.
6 weeks ago I underwent PRK laser eye surgery and it quickly proved to be one of the best choices of my life. Vision correction has already improved my daily life and my training routines! I am a full time, Olympic wrestler and having this procedure has allowed me to not have to worry about my contacts falling out in practice or tournaments anymore, giving me one less thing to worry about in my athletic performance. Everyone at London Eye Centre was experienced, confident, and friendly, and I couldn't have imagined a better experience. If you have been thinking about vision correction I highly recommend doing it at London Eye Centre!
Had my PRK done almost 2 years ago now. The freedom of not having to wear glasses or contacts every day is truly life changing! The staff was really friendly and there was always someone available to address any concerns I had, both pre and post op. I went to multiple places for consultations and the atmosphere at London Eye was my favourite, I felt comfortable and had all my questions answered. Some other places felt like their priority was to get you through their doors and done with as soon as possible, not here. Would highly recommend!
had my vision corrected 12 years ago and still sharp to this day. Procedure is uncomfortable to say the least but worth it. improved my daily life and allowed me to pursue combat sports.
I had PRK done in 2011. I would recommend PRK as a procedure but advise caution with London place. I had my vision tested twice the month before the surgery to ensure I get an accurate correction. Then when I went in for surgery the doctor gave me a last minute eye exam. I told him I had my prescription but he insisted that he would go with the one he took then. I was panicking about having surgery. This panic affected my vision for the doctors' last minute eye exam. I now have astigmatism in my left eye that is permanent because "it's smaller than the mininun amount they can correct for". I wear glasses. It's frustrating because I had my prescription. This wasn't a margin of error mistske in correction. The doctor effed up my surgery.
I had the intralase SBK procedure done. I immediately had better vision afterwards compared to when I without my glasses on in the past. In less than 24 hours at the followup appointment, I had basically 20/20 vision and was told I was able to drive. Of course the recovery is different between people but I had a great experience at London Eye Center. There was pain after the surgery for about 1.5 days but I was given pain drops that really helped. The staff are all friendly, caring and informative. You can get a referral discount if you know someone who went there to get it done, you need their phone number and name.
The staff are very nice and give little children free stickers.
Had PRK in 2009, then the one year “enhancement. The initial procedure was as expected. No complaints. The enhancement session (same drill as the original session), had the doctor actually signing in apparent frustration as he scraped the surface of both my eyes with a tool in prep for the actual laser stage. Well, that session ended and within minutes it was clear that I was in for a pain ride that would dwarf the discomfort of the previous year. 30 minutes later I was screaming into a hotel room pillow for almost 90 minutes. Then, five years later my acuity plummeted from 20/15 to a prescription of 4.50. An ophthalmologist has looked and saw significant scarring on one eye and remarked “Your PRK did not work out.” Ugh.... Now I am already facing the expense of another $7-8000 to get my 20/20 Everyone is different but I am confident that surgeon impatience compromised my vision in this case. It was at least nice for a while after the pain.
I went to this place on a referral of a co-worker after the last place left a lot to be desired. This place has amazing customer service and they are very professional. They ended up having an opening for eye surgery the same day I went in and I took it. Its been over a month since my surgery and London Eye Centres' follow up care has been quick and professional. I cannot say enough good things about this place, they are amazing!
Exactly what anyone could ask for when getting laser eye surgery. Great staff, courteous and to the point. Clean facility that operates with confidence and post treatment follow up to ensure perfection
I had laser eye surgery (PRK) done here in 2012 and my experience was great (not super pleasant healing process, but that's not London eye centre's fault). Just got a touch up procedure, which is free with their awesome lifetime warranty! Paid a small upgrade charge to get the SBK procedure and the results are amazing and the healing process was so painless, besides the first 6 hours post procedure. (highly recommend listening to their advice and take the T3's and zopiclone to sleep through it!). Thanks London Eye Centre so much for awesome experiences and having an incredible lifetime warranty so if our eyes require a touch up in the future it's covered, Will
Overall I am happy with my laser eye surgery from London Eye Centre (LEC). They are very professional, have a good facility, have modern equipment, and seem to be involved with a lot of research on laser eye treatments. In my experience, and from what I have read in other reviews, LEC is probably the best laser eye treatment facility in the greater Vancouver area. After my consultation I was told that I was eligible for both the SBK and PRK procedures, and chose SBK mainly for its shorter recovery time. PRK is cheaper ($3200 for both eyes, compared to $3600 for both eyes with SBK), and is sometimes regarded as being safer than SBK because of the complications that can happen with the flap that is created with SBK. However, from what I understand the all-laser SBK procedure that LEC performs has very few flap-related issues, and overall is pretty much as safe as PRK. My recovery went pretty well. The first evening after surgery I mainly rested with my eyes closed. My eyes were quite sore that evening, I had a fairly strong burning sensation in them, and it kept feeling like there was an eyelash in my eye (there wasn’t actually one; this is a common sensation after laser eye surgery). The supplied pain-relieving eye drops really helped. I was also supplied with Tylenol 3 and sleeping pills, but I never needed to use these. For this whole evening, my vision was very cloudy (like seeing through a fog), blurry (like a slightly-off prescription of glasses), and there was strong glare/halos around lights. I was also very sensitive to light. The second day was similar to the first evening, but everything was moderately better. I still didn’t feel that my vision was good enough for driving though. At my day-after checkup with LEC the optometrist said that everything was recovering well. Over the next few days everything slowly got better each day. Four days after the surgery I was driving, but it was difficult due to it being a bright sunny day. Had it been cloudy, it would have been fine. I didn’t drive at night until a week after surgery: glare/halos from headlights were too intense before that. At 2 months my right eye was at 20/20, and my left was at 20/40, which works out to a combined 20/25 vision. The main issue with the left eye at this point was double vision: I would see a faint ghost image slightly off to the side of the main image, which is essentially astigmatism. The left had strong astigmatism before the surgery, so I’m not too surprised by this. It has now been 4 months and both eyes are at 20/20. The double vision from the left eye is mostly gone now. I am very satisfied with this, considering my vision before surgery was around 20/400. With a strong prescription like this, full recovery can take a few months (as in my case), and sometimes you won’t get quite to 20/20, especially if you have strong astigmatism. At this point, halos/glare from point-source lights at night have reduced quite a bit, but they’re still a little worse than when I had glasses. I’m hopeful this will continue getting better though. Overall I recommend London Eye Centre, and laser eye surgery in general. The freedom from not having glasses is great: I can see when I wake up, I can swim, I don’t have to clean the glasses multiple times per day, I have peripheral vision again, I don’t have to worry about scratching my glasses, and overall my vision is clearer (all glasses create some amount of glare or reflection). Just make sure you’re a good candidate before doing it. Some people are more prone to certain complications, like halos/glare at night. Note that if you get a referral from someone who has had laser eye surgery at LEC in the past, you’ll get a discount on your procedure. It used to be $500 off ($250/eye), but when I did it I got $250 off ($125/eye), so I guess things have changed. Just make sure to mention the referral in the consultation info sheet you fill out.
(Update) I had the monovision surgery, and my eyes never adapted. I still need glasses for using my computer -- which is all the time. I wasn't told this before I had the surgery, which is a significant omission in my opinion. I have asked about this several times during my checkups, and they ignore these questions. My eyes are constantly trying to focus together without success. It's a weird sensation that sometimes affects my equilibrium. I'm also unfortunately an unsafe driver at night because of all the glare it significantly affects my driving. They also suggest that you get a checkup every six months, but their system doesn't accept appointments that far out. My personal computer allows for indefinite future dates on my calendar, but a corporate scheduling system can't? It seems like a convenient way to make sure customers who are no longer generating profits are no longer creating expense either. Overall, I just traded one problem for another, which was an exceptionally expensive trade off. So far I've had a fairly good experience here. I'm planning on making my appointment and going in to have the surgery in the near future. My one complaint is that the technician touched me several times during the exam, and in a way that was likely intended to be friendly, that made me uncomfortable. Men should never touch anyone -- but a woman especially -- without their permission. Someone just needs to tell this older guy, who was probably trying to be personable, that he should keep his hands to himself.
I Highly recommend this clinic. I am from Calgary, and after months of research. I decided to fly to Vancouver for London eye clinic. My prescription is over -8.0, and their price is one of the best. Their staff is very accommodating with my booking. They are able to consult, do the surgery and did a couple follow ups within a week. They had some very experienced and friendly doctors and staff. I didn't feel scared at all. Thank you London eye clinic!
I have 20/15 vision now, I'm not broke post surgery, and now I can finally over analyze things even more because of all that improved visual clarity.
I am extremely satisfied with the way I was treated here, the customer service was remarkable and my eyes honestly feel so much better. I received the PRK surgery and London Eye Centre made sure to attend to my needs to the best of their ability! :)
I'm not familiar with London Eye Centre until my co-worker recommends them as her two girlfriends have their eyes treated here. So I gave them a shot. Booking for a free (no obligation) consultation was a breeze, they are not going to force you to do it and they let you decide, which was amazing. No pressure at all. Steven and Linda were very friendly and nice. They both explained the procedure, financing and answered all my questions to make decision easy. I'm nearsighted (myopia) and they told me that I'm a candidate for either Lasik or PRK but I choose the later. side note: TBH am very scared to do this so I kind of postpone so I could do further research, watch a lot of videos and even reviews. Then in June this year I had my eyes done. I'm scheduled for an hour, first half was another consultation to check if everything was still fine, 15 mins tops I think was the actual laser procedure it was really fast (sorry I forgot my eye surgeon name as am really nervous), then 20 mins for another checkup then I went home. Four months after the surgery I feel really good and free from glasses! No more blurry mornings. I will have another check at the end of year and hopefully more good news. I definitely recommend London Eye Centre!
Great customer service and they offer a fair flat rate for the chosen procedure. Consultation was informative and they took the time to answer my questions and address my concerns. They were honest with the risks and the expected recovery times. I ended up getting PRK done and the procedure itself was painless and free of discomfort. I was in and out of the operating room in less than 10 min. They’ve done countless procedures and it shows as they are incredibly proficient at what they do. Over a year and I’m very happy with the results despite some difficulty focusing at night and in low light conditions which was expected.
I just wanted to share how extremely happy I am with my experience going through the Intralase treatment yesterday at London Eye Centre. From beginning to end I was well taken care of and each step of the way was explained to me in detail. I felt safe and comfortable in the hands of Surgeon Dr. Suren Sanmugasunderam, Linda, Meagan and the rest of the staff at London Eye Centre. Thank you for the gift of 20/20 vision!
Very professional. Glad I had my surgery done here. Just passed 6 months since my intralase SBK and no issues at all.
Awesome place to get your eyes done. The staff was extremely nice and very professional. I felt very comfortable with the procedure and they were excellent in explaining every step of the way. Five stars all the way.
Based on friends recommendations, I had my laser eye surgery done a few years ago at London Eye Centre. All the staff I've encountered had been very professional and knowledgable. I knew I was in good hands. My vision has been restored to 20/20 and I'm still glasses-free! Best investment ever! Now I highly recommend London Eye Centre to anyone considering the procedure.
Great clinic! The staff is super nice and they make you feel super comfortable. Still loving my results as my prescription was terribly bad before.
2007 surgery date for me and it was an easy, quick procedure.
I had Intralase here on both eyes. The process was quite quick and painless. Very friendly staff and I felt in good hands throughout the whole procedure. I'm on my second day of recovery and besides a tiny bit of soreness on my first day... This has been so much easier than I thought. Thanks London Eye!
I finally had my eye surgery done after years of contemplating. The staff here is amazing, and eases your anxieties the whole time. I had a great experience, it's so fast its almost magical! Thank you. :)
Had the surgery done. Went back several times to get the procedure redone. Never did get 20-20 vision. Settled for close enough. Still need glasses to drive.
I'm so thankful that London Eye Centre is a clinic that's completely optimized for patient-care and helped me achieve superb recovery results. Sharing my story, I've looked into doing PRK for quite a while but it has the longest recovery time out of all the procedures-- I needed a medical team that I could trust with my only pair of eyes. After filtering out all the marketing on various clinics' website and asking a lot of people's experiences, I invested in my eyes via London Eye Centre. They were the only clinic that gave me more of a private hospital vibe instead of a marketing vibe. All my questions were answered via virtual consultation and then eye evaluation + 'conditional' surgery was arranged for two months later. On my life-changing day (Sept 2nd, 2021), I was pleasantly surprised by how patient-oriented and friendly everyone was and the amount of medical staff I had to interact/consult with (~7) before I could even go ahead with surgery. All eye evaluations, consults, and paperwork that day was much longer than the PRK surgery itself (which felt like ~5 mins per eye) so it made me eager to get into surgery. What surprised me most was actually how relaxing and cool it was to experience the procedure. Imagine that all you do is stare at a green dot, then the laser activates and its like watching TV static-- except its black and red pixels instead of B&W-- and then you see the green dot again. You'll smell a tad of BBQ, they'll gently clean the eye surface, add a contact lens and then they do the same for the other eye. During the entire procedure, I didn't feel anything at all. Post-surgery recovery also went really well. I experienced no pain whatsoever (which I imagine is uncommon) so I didn't have to use any of the pain medications that were given to me. I simply used the prescribed eye drops at regular intervals and followed their recommendations as closely as possible. There were various post-surgery check-ups and I've always enjoyed the conversations. By the 3-week mark, my quality of life has already improved especially when it came to exercise/sports. I think I have one more post-surgery appointment left and I can already tell I'm gonna miss this place. PS. Special shout out to Angela for making my experience especially enjoyable. While my surgery was on her first day and she shadowed my entire surgical process from start to finish, she was super-friendly and pleasant to be around. She's somehow always there for all my post-surgery follow-ups and she's an amazing addition to the team!
Decided to go for a consultation after seeing reviews that this place was the best. I felt like leaving midway through. I felt like I was at a car dealership the way the doctors were talking to me. Barely did any tests on my eye and we're rushing it. No explanation behind what they were checking for but when it came to paying, their eyes lit up and they had a lot to say about all the benefits and the sooner the better to get it done. I asked about financing options and the guy said it's just better to pay it all upfront so you get it over and done with. Are you serious?? I didnt go forward with the surgery with London Lasik so I can't speak about my experience on that because based on the consultation I wouldn't trust these people who treated me like I was another form of profit and didn't seem to care about the well-being of my eyes. In the end it's up to you but you only have one pair of eyes, this isn't something to mess around with. Don't trust reviews. Go in for yourself and see how you're treated and do your research.
Amazing experience! Definitely recommend! My experience: Beforehand, my eyes were really bad (-6.25, -7.5), with a slight astigmatism. I had to wait roughly 1.5-2 months for the in person consultation appointment. For the actual surgery date, it was 3-4 weeks after the consultation. I had intralase sbk done. An hour or so after the surgery, there were uncomfortable pain for the first 2-3 hours. Afterwards, there were zero pain or discomfort at all. Healing time was really quick (2 days). After 2 days, I was able to go back to normal activities. Like many, I experienced dried eyes for the first month or so. After a month, I do not experience dried eyes anymore - unless if I am starring constantly at a computer screen for 4 hours+ with zero breaks. My eyesight currently is superior. Things that are very far away are really crisp and clear. I felt that I was well taken care of. The staff were nice, clean area, and covid-19 safety protocols in place. I asked a lot of questions before my surgery date, and all of the staff were very informative and patient with me. Overall, definitely recommend it! It really is a game changer. Thank you!
I was one of the big scaredy cats who would refuse to even think of laser eye surgery. But I finally had a consultation with London Eye Centre and it turned out to be a very good experience. Their team is highly professional and makes you feel at ease from the initial consultation all the way up to the follow-up visits. Getting laser eye surgery from LEC was one of the best decisions of my life.
Great experience overall. Just wish I had done this sooner. I had the Intralase procedure which was well worth it. I didn't experience pain and didn't have to take any painkillers. More than pain, it was just discomfort that I went through. Although that didn't last more than a few days. In terms of my recovery with the Intralase, I was able to look into my computer the next day - although I didn't want to strain my eyes so I gave it another 24 hours. I was also driving by that time too. The service and support are top notch. I had one side that was over corrected, but I went in 8 months later for a correction and now I'm 20/20.
I had my eyes corrected here with PRK in 2014 and they were so professional and fixed my very near-sightedness prescription to perfect. My eyes deteriorated over the last 5 years and they recently did another procedure, a "thermoburn" to fix a low astigmatism and slight far-sightedness and now my vision is perfect again. They are so great there and I'd recommend them to anyone over all the other places, times a thousand.
Had my PRK done in September last year, everything from the consultation to the surgery and all the after care has been fantastic! So pleased with my new vision! Very Covid safe too!
Best decision I made and had no issues at all. Great followup and very friendly staff!! Have recommended them a number of times
My experience was great, from start to finish. The lady at the receptions were very friendly and reassuring when I went to get PRK done. The doctor was also very professional. I was informed about the procedure and its consequences and risks in a very honest and transparent manner. The approach seemed to much more personalized and "true" compared to some super-centers like L***MD, which I visited before hand and upsold me big time on a procedure that was more expensive (+$1000), misleading me to believe that PRK was too painful and I shouldn't choose it.
Thoroughly enjoyed my experience at London Eye Centre. From the consultation with Michael to the procedure with Dr. Maerov to the follow-ups with the technicians and doctors, I felt completely comfortable the whole way. I had the PRK and the downtime was 5 days, as you're told. Be sure to take advantage of the sleeping pills and T3s they prescribe for you. Their pricing structure is far more transparent and clear in comparison to other companies. I didn't even consider the competition. I had heard great things from people who had their eyes done at London Eye Centre and knew it was time! Would recommend them to anyone looking for laser vision correction.
I loved my London Eye Centre experience! Doctors were super professional, lots of support during recovery. :)
I got my PRK surgery here! Amazing and friendly staff. Highly recommend London eye center.
This is the first review I've ever written but I felt I had to because my experience was so great. I just came back from my one year check up at my optometrist and my vision is 20/20. She told me that result, coming from a -8.0 prescription, is very impressive and they did an excellent job. From the consultation through the procedure, I had a great experience. I live outside of BC and they helped to make it as convenient as possible. Their consultant talked me out of doing PRK in favour of Intralase and I'm so glad they did. Other than slight discomfort for a few hours after the procedure, I had no side effects, a very quick recovery and my vision is now perfect. I can't recommend London Eye Centre highly enough - they really did change my life :)
I had my operation week ago.No pain , is great place , great staff . Highly recommending this place.
I had the Interlase SBK procedure done here and I was incredibly impressed with the experience. From the free consultation to the follow up appointments, each experience has reflected a high quality of service and dedication. I would highly recommend London Eye Centre as a company.
I had my surgery here years ago and it is still the best decision I ever made. Being able to walk into a store, try on sunglasses and walk out wearing them was a major impact on day-to-day life.
I got my procedure done 10 years ago and it has been the best decision ever!! It is unbelievable to wake up and see. The entire staff and medical professionals were friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend London Eye Centre to all my friends and family.
I am so glad I decided to go to London Eye for my surgery. Due to Covid, I chose to do my consultation online, and the process even though it was via webcam was clear and covered all of my questions and anxieties. For the SBK procedure, it was fast and all staff were friendly, calm and made me feel so comfortable. I now have better than 20/20 vision. I will definitely continue sending all of my friends and family who are interested to London Eye. I wish I could give ten stars!
I had the PRK procedure 10 days ago. My eyes were pain-free and more or less what my vision used to be with contacts after only 5 days! I wish I did it sooner. The doctors, and staff were very polite, knowledgeable, and overall great! The procedure was quick and painless. My only complaint is that they do not supply you with many hydrating drops after surgery, even though I will be needing them every 30min or so for months to come. This surprised me as every other place supplies you will many! Strange but otherwise a great experience.
Best thing I spent my money on. Very friendly and professional service. Highly recommended,
My partner and I had very favourable experiences a few days ago. We had the same procedure performed (Intralase SBK) by different surgeons last Thursday and Friday. Both of us had obvious discomfort up to three hours post-surgery but following the instructions has made for a very easy recovery so far (we are currently on day two and three days post-surgery). Our next day follow-up appointments yielded 20/20+ vision and we were able to drive 650km east for home last night with our three young children. I observed excellent, COVID sanitation and very professional and courteous staff during all appointments. Based on our two experiences, we highly-recommend this eye centre! Also, it has to be mentioned that the next door pharmacy is excellent as well!! The pharmacist went above and beyond to accommodate our needs!
Never wore glasses in my life till I hit 43 and all of a sudden everything went blurry . Purchased couple pairs of expensive eye glasses ,transition and for the sun ,worked fine tho was was never the same as no glasses especially doing sports such as tennis and water sports ,driving and motorcycling . Where I purchased the glasses they advised me advise me that I was not eligible for laser so wasn't till I was 48 and my wife told me to go for a free consultation so I asked around people that done laser and I came up with London eye as my choice for a free consultation . After my examination I was a prime candidate and couldn't believe that I didn't think of getting s second opinion from the years prior . They advised that my distance would be 20/20 and readers would be needed for up close 24 inches .With no hesitation I asked London eye to book me in as soon as possible , it was a little scary laying in the chair but the minute operation per eye was worth more than words can discribe ,51 now and I'm so grateful for this Technology of correcting vision , I was so happy that I purchased couple pairs of sunglasses , to see especially far distance is a gift ! Treat yourself if you wear specs it will be the best investment that u will ever make !! From Chris Taraviras
Got my surgery done 2017. Highly recommend it as service, staff and everyone has been great.
So London eye center was actually my second opinion. First I went to a higher marking company. The other company said I would need to get a second surgery done, that I had to wait 5 hours the day of the surgery to wait for the appointment. They quickly booked me for the appointment. I had 3 days before the appointment when London quickly booked me for the free consultation. They said that's ridiculous that the other company is saying you will need a second appointment. They were also a little cheaper, and best yet, I was in and out of the surgery within 1:15, I highly recommend this company. Always get a second opinion!
Great experience! I've recommended it to over a dozen people who have also said the same. I got my procedure done 2 years ago when I was 19, and I have had no problems & absolutely no regrets.
London Eye Centre is one of the best doctors offices I have ever been in; although, it doesn't look flashy you are treated like a million bucks. Initially with my free consultation there was no pressure just education. I found out they had a deal going on that I could not pass up on (I was going to take their law enforcement/military applicant deal initially). The staff on the day of the surgery were very reassuring and informative; I never felt like I was just another person being operated on. The best part is the follow-up; these doctors answer any question you may have thoroughly so that you understand. This is true for any minor question you may call about, or if you believe something is major, they will fit you in usually the same day for a visit. All of this is free with your surgery FYI. My vision is 20/20 today. Overall if I could go back, and could have done it sooner I would have. If you have ever been interested in Lasik/PRK stop in, trust me you won't be disappointed.
Extremely happy with the service and results. They were very flexible when I had to make appointments and have great followup care. I have already recommended many friends!
I just had surgery on Thursday so far so good , friendly staff
I had PRK done with London Eye Center 25 years ago and still have perfect vision!! Recently I needed my medical records to enter the military reserves and they still had them! Linda was super helpful and put up with my many requests without fail. She was really friendly and never made me feel like I was a bother. I wish all medical offices had a Linda...as I work in the medical field, I can attest to how busy, grueling and thankless such a job can be. Keep up the excellent work!
My experience with London Eye has been very pleasant. I had a PRK in 2008 at London Eye after wearing glasses for almost 30 years. My vision was -7 and worse. Even though my recover during the first two weeks was not as smooth as it should've been because I started watching TV, doing house chores (with little children at home) pretty much right away by using pain drops, it turned out overall very good for the past 10+years. My biggest concern at the time was night vision after the surgery based on the research I did. Though my night vision turned out to be perfect. Short after my PRK, Two of my friends had their vision corrected with London eye, one had stigmatisms, both are very satisfied and had much smoother recover because I told them my experience. In May 2019, 11 years after my vision correction, my older daughter had PRK done at London Eye. One of her eyes had almost 4 astigmatism, 7 months later now, both of her far and near sights are perfect, she didn't even need to use a tear drop after a month or two. Her surgeon was Dr.Nathoo, a very handsome and patient doctor. After my daughter's, one of my friends from China had hers (IntraLase SBK) done in Sep 2019. She was told that she's too old to have a laser eye surgery in China 10 years ago. After I told her my experience, she went to have a consultation with London Eye and had the surgery done on the same day because she only had a short stay in Vancouver but wanted to have the first two critical post-surgery check-up done. To accommodate her schedule, the staff and the surgeon (Dr Sanmu) worked very late that day. A couple weeks ago, my friend's (mentioned above) had her 25-year-old daughter flew in from Toronto had a PRK at London Eye, she's still recovering though already had a much better vision, the girl is extremely happy. Her vision was near sight over -9 plus over 5 astigmatism. She was practical a blind person. After 10 years, some positive changes I noticed, they didn't increase the fee that much. I paid $3k in 2008 for a PRK, they charge $3.2k now. And they started emphasizing not to watch TV, computer, phone for the first few days to make sure that the patients have a smooth recover. While I strongly recommend London Eye, I also would like to advice whoever is thinking to have one done to take it seriously. Do your own research, know your prescription well, come for the consultation with as many questions as you might have, and follow the after-surgery procedure carefully will definitely lower/eliminate possibilities of having a negative result. My last tip to those who have dry eyes is take some fish oil and keep a healthy life routine.
I done the surgery almost 9 years ago. But my eyes are myopia again. *I called in as suggested and the representative was extremely friendly. I tried to ask for a follow-up/consultation and ended up getting advice to go to an optometrist first. I originally expected that I'd be able to directly schedule an appointment or something, but apparently not. Not sure why they told me to call them in that case then lol
Dr. Steven Kirzner is an absolute legend. My eyes were terrible and had my initial surgery way back in 2006 when he was at Coal Harbour. Got perfect vision for 15 years. As time went on my eyes got worse. The lifetime guarantee kicked in and I got re zapped in Sept. 2021. I forgot how nerve wrecking it was to have a laser in your eye and the smell of burning flesh. The whole team at London Eye from initial consultation to surgery in New West just like in Coal Harbour are total pros, felt comfortable the whole time, no panic at all. Now I have 20/20 again. Totally life changing, would recommend London Eye and the team there to anyone with bad eyes seeking a new look on life
Was really upset that the receptionist forced me to wear a medical disposable mask even after I told her I can't wear them she wouldn't allow me to wear my cloth mask that I've always worn in the past here in office
Been almost 2 years now I had my eyes done and still the best money i ever spent on myself!
I was a little nervous going into this. All the people involved from the receptionist, to the financial coordinator, optometrist, nurses and surgeon were all fantastic. If you have doubt just at least go for a consultation. The procedure itself was very quick and the recovery went well.
Amazing staff and service. Recommend it to everyone looking to improve their sight.
I had laser surgery at London Eyes back in Aug 2020 and I am extremely happy with the process and the results. Steve did my first consultation and a lot of my follow up appointments after. He is super friendly and knowledgeable which made the whole experience a lot more comfortable. I highly recommend London Eye Centre to anyone who is interested in getting laser eye surgery.
Amazing staff and service. Results are great too, my wife had surgery and she absolutely loves it.
It's been 21 years since my procedure, and still not using corrective lenses! Nice! I'm thankful everyday. We have ATVs, cars, sleds, but the best money I ever spent was here on my eyes. Truly :-) Thanks LEC for 21 years, looking forward to many more, Bill Mc
Extremely professional and informative through the entire process of my procedure. I would high recommend to anyone. I was kept in the loop each step of the way and medical staff were super reassuring to make me as comfortable as I could be the entire time.
Bad service. Went in for a consultation 2 months ago and some sales rep named Mike tried up selling me. Very pushy sales man. Felt like i was buying a used car.
I had PRK done a month ago (Dec 2019). My vision is nearly perfect now. I can't be happier with the results. I would recommend London Eye Centre to everyone. I went to the consultation at L.MD in downtown first and then at LEC. I was almost sold by the new and modern clinic at LMD. But the consultant at L.MD told me that my left eye was kind of a lazy eye and only correctable to 20/40! I have eye exams done every two years and no optometrist has ever said that. I went to LEC, they said my eyes were totally normal and both eyes were correctable to 20/20! Who doesn't want a perfect result! I am so glad I finally did it. Just imagine how joyful it is to see an absolutely clear image of yourself in the mirror every morning you wake up! Thank you LEC!
For us daring individuals who are willing to consider this procedure research and confidence in the personnel at a given centre is essential. I chose London after reading reams of positive reviews and am very pleased to join in praising their product. Top quality staff, seamless process, superb results and no surprises. If you're reading this and have yet to make a firm decision I'm pleased to report that your search is over- London Eye is undeniable.
2. 2nd review, well May5th was done now April26 still on steroid drops, eye got a wee wee bit better but nothing close to what was promised with the more expensive two day prodcedure. Could not wait around any longer, had too go back to my work, travelling now and use of eye has become difficult night driving, flying reading with the blury eye. Trying to use old glasses and that's a chore with changed vision, I have an appt may 3rd and i do not have too much hope in my one eye vision getting better by then. Good i only did one eye. If not i will seek additional professional opinion on the current situation. I will keep this 1 star until the may 3rd appt and will post the verdict. 1. First review additional ones to follow once i see how this turns out. The more expensive two day has now turned into 7 days with more healing days.. Good thing it was one eye. First suction for creating flap let loose during and had to redo it three times, white eye bruised total red slowly going away today. Had to go back in next day flap not seated proper, more scraping flap positioning caused some more surface scratching with the reseat. Now still on meds and drops. Eye very slowly slowly starting to focus, if this slow at this rate it may be a week or more to see if i will see correction 20/20 right eye. Using old glasses to aid to drive. As said i will await further posting, reviews and outside expert advice after next few days if i do not see major eye sight improvement.
They explained in detail what to expect and any potential issues that may occur. My experience was a piece of cake, I followed their recommendations and did not have any discomfort. The staff was knowledgeable and supportive which helped take away any anxiety.
I had laser surgery at London Eye Centre and I would highly recommend them to anyone considering it. The staff there are fantastic, from start to finish, it was a smooth and easy process. Melanie was so kind on the day of the surgery, warm and welcoming. I have 20/20 vision now after being totally dependent on glasses/contact lenses for most of my life. No regrets at all :)
I had the (I think it was PRK) surgery done around 17 years ago. It is 2020 and I am still around 20/20 if I squint :) I had no long standing side effects. Halo effect went away in less than a year. I did not give 5 stars because the dryness in my eyes took years to return to a normal state rather than months to a year like they said. It would be annoying if something got my eyes because there was no moisture in my eyes to flush it out. That being said, the moisture eventually came back and my vision stayed intact. I would go back and do it all over again
Absolutely recommend London Eye centre! From start to finish the consultation, the procedure and the follow ups were easy, friendly staff and accommodating. Never felt pressured to but or obligated during the consultation. Its been over a year now and my vision is sharp and no more contact lenses.
Went into London Eye center as I was denied everywhere else due to my prescription but London Eye center was able to give me exactly what I dreamed of. They stated there might be a small prescription left as they were going to do their best but my eyes were so bad; however i left their office with no prescription at all!!! Staff was friendly and I had a great pre and post op experience
I had an excellent experience at London Eye Centre. It's been so nice to see without glasses after using them for 40 years!
I had the 'no touch’ PRK surgery performed in 2012. I had an excellent experience at London Eye Centre with the staff and doctors before, during and after my surgery. Although I was extremely apprehensive and nervous the day of my surgery, Dr. Shan’s demeanor was calming and reassuring. I would probably not have been able to lay there for the few minutes that it took to do the procedure had Dr. Shan not been so patient and understanding with me. He is very nice guy and obviously very experienced in dealing with people with anxiety. The best part comes at the end of the surgery when you can choose to donate the glasses that you walk in with to someone in a developing country. It feels surreal and also very liberating to know that will not need your glasses again. London Eye Centre gives you the eye drops /medication you need when you leave which makes it easy. The few follow up appointments I had with a doctor also went well. Again, the doctor was very friendly, informative. I had a quick recovery and was back at work at my desk within a week. I continue to feel as though I have bionic eyes and would recommend getting PRK surgery done at London Eye Centre to anyone.
Awesome experience at the North Van location. I was referred by a friend who had been referred through several friends. Al Lens was phenomenal in explaining the process, ensuring I knew what my choices were and also was awesome after the procedure. The doctor was great and explained what he was doing as we went through the procedure as well. Nothing was a suprise. I went in for PRK for a prescription of - 3.0 and my vision is 20/20 two years later.
I have made a decision after 15 years wearing glasses to finally have a laser surgery. It was the best decision of my life! I can’t believe how much fear of the unknown can hold us back. The procedure was painless and the healing quick. And the best part of it all is clear vision that I have enjoyed for more than 7 years now. I highly recommend London Eye Centre for the procedure with amazing staff and top notch doctors!
I’ve waited a full year before I decided to write a review. I got the non touch prk. The results were AMAZING! Worth every penny. The healing time was 24 hours. I was fine to drive the next day. There was some dryness right after surgery, but that’s it. 0 pain. I had a 3 month old at the time and was breastfeeding. I was able to do this surgery because there was no harsher eye meds needed. I believe it was an ibuprofen eye drop they gave me. Also, being that I had to take care of a small one, I needed to be able to see. Which I was able to right after surgery. I now have 15/20 vision. Which is better than 20/20. Didn’t realize eyes could be better than 20/20 till I had them done. As for customer service, everyone was absolutely amazing. Would answer any of my questions when needed. This place provides top notch service in every way. Please if you’re thinking of getting your eyes done, go get a consultation here. I highly recommend London eye care to anyone who wants laser eye surgery.
I had RK at this clinic 30 years ago. I was told it was 100% safe. When I phoned a few months ago to tell them about all my complications I was informed that it was "new and experimental and they would never do that surgery now". I was told the opposite when I decided to go ahead with my surgery. I urge anyone considering ANY eye surgery to check out LASIK complications facebook group and be informed before you put your healthy eyes at risk .
Been almost 20 years & still at 20/20... I did have complications, no fault of the centre itself & went above & beyond to help get me back on the road to recovery! Would do it again in a heartbeat! Steve B is the best technician you can ask for!
I have been debating having this surgery for almost two years. I had it done three weeks ago and can't believe I waited so long! Everyone at London Eye Centre have been great! From the first person you meet on consultation day, to the post op visit. It has been a great experience from start to present. Best of all, I can see my clock next to my bed again. My wife will be having the same procedure next month. Good bye contacts!
Had a PRK procedure last Nov 6 and felt better with the awesome assistance from New Westminster and North Vancouver staff. Questions and concerns were all handled well. Worry free since they have a emergency hotline that can assist and guide you. I was so scared before the procedure but their commitment and support to their patient/s made you comfortable and relieved.
I had my original procedure done in 2015 in my early and just had my retreatment! The healing process was so quick. The staff and service was exceptional. I always make sure to refer London Eye Centre when friends enquire! Happy to have my vision back!! Thanks for everything
I did Intralase SBK with London Eye Centre two months ago and had a great experience. Recovery was not bad at all, and I was able to see fine the next day. Very happy with my results :)
I had my PRK procedure at London Eye Centre and came out with no complications and perfect vision! Dr. Nathoo performed the procedure and was exceptional with the whole process. Dr. Bryan took care of me post-op and is excellent at explaining the healing process and addressing any questions or concerns. Anisha and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful with the administrative side of things. I have already recommended many friends to London Eye Centre, if you're considering getting your eyes done, go in for a free consultation!
Many years ago I had RK surgery at the clinic, sadly I am now a member of "the survivors of RK ". My Vision cannot be corrected with glasses, I also have halos and extremely sensitive dry eyes . This is all very stressful. I urge everyone to research lasik as this has long term complications also. I am not alone, I've spoken to many ppl who now have the same complications or worse.
I just had the PRK procedure done at the end of August and I couldn't be happier with the results!! My doctor was amazing and all of my follow up appointments so far have been very good. The 3 star rating is for the receptionists, who are not very friendly and the doctors assistant on the day of my procedure who I found to be unprofessional . It was an extremely nerve-racking day and a warm welcoming would have helped calm my nerves. If it wasn't for the friendly medical team, I would have picked a different place to have my surgery done. **update 3 yrs later.. My vision is still perfect and have had no issues!
I had my surgery at London Eye Centre a few days ago and had a great experience! The team at LEC was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. They really put my mind at ease prior to my surgery. I had the All-Laser Lasik surgery done by Dr. Shan and he was great! He explained the whole process to me beforehand, and checked up on me consistently throughout the procedure (which was greatly appreciated!). My vision is already incredible after just a few days! Thank you so much to Dr. Shan and the team at London Eye Centre.
Had my surgery 4 months ago. Best decision I have ever made! I recommend this surgery to anyone wishing to have a life changing experience.
This was a procedure I thought about for a long time and it literally changed my life! I could not be happier. The staff were professional, helpful, kind, patient and all round amazing! I would recommend London Eye Centre to everyone!!!
I had the SBK procedure in 2015 and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made! I wore glasses and contacts for over 20 years and my first thought after surgery was "why did I wait so long?" The clinic was very professional and made me feel very comfortable. I'm sure I'll need a follow soon and look forward to visiting London Eye Center again. My brother was one of their earliest patients 30 yrs ago and has never had any issues.
LEC is very COVID-19 friendly. The location is central, and the office is clean and spacious. The SBK procedure is fairly quick and completed thoroughly. My only wish is that I was provided with more information during the suitability consultation, with regards to what to expect on surgery day. Other than that, I was satisfied with the overall experience ????
I was very nervous about doing this procedure but the staff was amazing and the experience was seamless. I can’t believe I can now see distance and read without glasses. Highly recommended.
I came to LEC after going to another office for a consultation. I felt that LEC answered my questions more thoroughly and provided better advice than the other place. The pricing was also better by about 5% which is a lot when you consider the totals. Got my surgery appointment within a month. The day of surgery went smooth; I never felt uncomfortable and the Surgeon was great. My recovery is what shocked me. I was driving within 24 hours and did not have any discomfort, pain or dry eyes. I highly recommend anyone considering eye surgery to come to LEC!
London eye centre is the place to go get your perfect vision. From my first phone call to my consultation they have been very friendly and informative. It's been three years since I got my eyes done by them and so far they are working well. Occasionally my eyes do get a little dry but I rather use a bit of tear drops then wear glasses. my eyes did hurt during the first week of recovery. Ice packs and t3 were q good combination for my eyes. I went straight back to work the 3 Rd day. If I did this all over again, I would take a week off.
Got over my fear with their caring staff
I went to London Eye Centre based on their reputation and advertisements. They provide their service as a premium compared to other providers. I do not believe it was worth it in all honesty, as the PRK solution seems to be entirely dependent upon the laser itself. I had a number of different eye doctors while there and did not meet the actual optometrist who performed the surgery before the surgery date. They overcorrected my eyes and two years later they my right eye still hasn't achieved the level of vision I want it to be at. I have to visit an outside optometrist at my own expense and forward them the information. I would have thought they would have done a follow up exam in their office as I was told to contact them after my last appointment if it didn't correct itself. I am not very impressed with that level of service. Am I happy I got the work done, absolutely. Would I recommend London Eye Centre, not entirely.
Did PRK surgery here and the staff are helpful, professional, and very nice. The surgery went well and overall process was very easy. Highly recommend.
Excellent overall experience!!!! Informative professional staff. Precisely accurate and quick procedure had me back to my busy routine the next day. Great job I highly recommend
After having had to wear glasses/contacts for 40 plus years I made the decision to have the corrective surgery done in my fifties. I'm not exaggerating to say it has been life changing to be able to pursue activities that were always a challenge with having to wear corrective lenses. London Eye Centre was professional in all aspects of my procedure and I couldn't be happier with the results.
Seriously so professional. Everything went smoothly. Clean and efficient.
I had PRK laser corrective surgery done last year on both my eyes and I have been very happy with the results. My vision is clear and focused without the use of corrective lenses for the first time in my adult life. Wonderful surgeons and follow up staff. I highly recommend getting it done here. Really life changing.
London Eye Centre was the best choice for my eye surgery. They were kind, professional, and very efficient. I am so happy with my 20/20 vision! I would higly reccomend them!
