This Doctor is classified in the category of Surgeon.
Dr vikis is an amazing surgeon and was very forward with all the information, even prior to my surgery she made sure I understood what was going to be going on inside the operating room. This office seems very busy but the receptionist and Dr vikis where super friendly.
I would give zero stars if I could. No professionalism and Zero bedside manner. From canceling my appt at last minute and then making me wait over 1 hr in reception. Then asking me drop my pants in front of her with the blinds wide open and have her receptionist come in and help her with a procedure. Also troubling to me was no correspondence to my mother after finding a terminal growth in her colon. Real good doc.
I had a follow up appointment booked but a week before the procedure, I had to cancel. I left a voicemail as my calls were never answered and then I received a voicemail from their office, Cher, stated that I would have to pay a fee for cancelling because I had confirmed the appointment and told me to call back to be 100% sure I wanted to cancel. I was able to switch my work schedule around to make it work so 10 minutes after receiving their call, I called back twice - no one answered so I left a message informing them that I will not be cancelling because I did not want to pay the $200 fine. Three days later I receive a call saying my appointment was cancelled and the slot was taken and I would have to pay 200$. I told her I am not going to pay when I left a message 10 mins after you called saying I would be able to come in. Who leaves a message telling you to get back to them and then cancels your appointment anyway? I was told I would get a call back after a different receptionist said she would talk to her manager. It has been 6 days since I last talked to her and I have yet to hear back. I understand that people make mistakes and it is possible that the receptionist missed my message and scheduled someone else in for the appointment but then to not admit your mistake and charge me $200, is ridiculous and unfair. Now, Dr. Vikis is great. I have no complaints against her and I would love to see her again. However, my interaction with the receptionists has made me very unlikely to go return. I will most likely be cancelling my rescheduled appointment for March and visit a different doctor.
They've Cancelled my appointment 5 times in 6 month, when I was in extreme pain! They just don't care and can recognize from your voice that your situation is not emergency or cancerous! Even if you explained you had cancer before!
She is very competent and world renowned expert in her profession. Throughout my ordeal, I can feel her warmth care and prompt action to deal with my situation. She and her staff are super busy but they find ways to communicate with you in a timely manner. One more thing, she’s beautiful in every way.
She's a wonderful doctor as well as incredibly kind and caring.
I had no issues .. she was awesome.. and very patient. The pain wasn't as bad as I thought and i have anxiety
Dr. Vikis is an amazing surgeon. I can’t say enough good things about her skill, demeanor and efficiency. Her office staff were pleasant and helpful.
Amazing skills, wonderful bedside manner. She is busy but thorough and very caring.
This is not ratting for the Doctor , it's for the clinic system . Too long waiting time 2-3 hours to meet the doctor for 5 minutes. You do not respect your patients time . Hope to see improvement on this . Also the doctor should respect the patient's privacy ,giving a time and a space to be prepared before do the exam.
Although the system of the clinic is rather frustrating at times... (that’s where I see most bad reviews anyway...) Dr. Elena Vikis has to be the most kind, welcoming, and pleasant doctors I have ever been to. I would never go anywhere else. She is professional, not awkward at all and has wonderful bedside manner which seems to be hard to find among specialists. I was absolutely TERRIFIED to go but felt so comfortable when we got to business simply because she has such a positive attitude and treats you like a friend as well as a patient. Thank you kindly.
Doc is so rude n not caring for patients history or pain
Worst management ever. They don’t value their patients. I keep calling the office multiple times to book for my surgery. It’s common don’t worry, they never ever pick up your phone.
I was referred to Dr. Vikis office in the summer of 2016 by an emergency room doctor during the end of the summer. Due to the immense pain I was in, I immediately attended Dr. Vikis office to see if I could get a date quickly. I found the secretary to be rude - as she stated that they only communicate through email or return voice messages. I was then given a date a few months later to see Dr. Vikis. However, a day before the appointment, I received a a voice mail stating that it was cancelled due to an emergency. Since then I've emailed and called the office numerous times and none of my communication has been returned. I've never dealt with an office that has such little respect for a patient. I was thinking of attending the office personally to book a new appointment, but I realize that: if this office has such little respect for me, why trust them with a potential medical procedure? Expect your appointment to be cancelled and your correspondence to go unanswered.
Great , professional, friendly office. Dr. Vikis is very welcoming and knowledgeable. She provides professional, fast medical care and she answers all questions I have every time I see her! Her staff is helpful and patient.I Highly recommend Dr. Vikis !
Waiting time too long!
I wish there is ZERO star option so I can give it to this doctor and her entire office staff.rude ,neglecting and worst bed side Manar I have ever seen.
Dr.Vikis has a very busy schedule, so the appointment seemed extremely rushed. I had an intern take my medical history, which I feel should have been Dr.Vikis herself. The office/reception does not prep you for what could be expected in your appointment. I didn't plan on having a procedure during my first appointment, but I was assured the procedure would be easy and relatively pain free. There was not a lot of explanation on what was going to happen with pros, cons, potential risks, side effects, etc....all the things you like to research on before having something done to your body. I had to make a 10 second decision of whether or not I wanted the procedure on the spot or wait another couple months for another appointment. I felt the procedure was played down and made to seem simple, easy, and relatively pain free. I wish I had been told up front the ugly part of it, not just the pretty picture. Dr.Vikis should write a prescription or recommend drug alternatives incase what she has recommended for pain control fails. Follow up phone calls should be done the next day with all patients who undergo any procedure. This is the first specialist I have come across who does not make follow up phone calls post procedure and tells you to call your GP or go to the ER if you have problems (neither a GP or ER doctor have any clue what to do if you're having problems, because it's not their specialty). In summary, Dr.Vikis is overloaded with patients. Appointments are rushed. No proper follow-up on post procedure. No phone number to reach an on-call specialist incase you're having issues. She does her job, and does it well, but the bedside manner needs to be upped.
Horrible experience. 2years of no follow ups.Wound still not healed. Her secretary has no experience on how to do her job.Am now seeing other surgions to follow up.
Any sympathy or provisions promised prior to an appointment are just to get you in the office. Say you said you didn't want a student from to be present prior, thry say its ok but on the day Dr Vikis was mad that I didn't want to talk to him. I had to wait for over 2 hours to be seen. She barely spent any time actually helping me. For a surgeon she does NOT have a gentle touch. The receptionist has no time for you, or patience. I left in tears and two days later I am still furious about how I was treated by Dr. Vikis and the humiliation I went through. She's trying to cram as many patients in to her day im assuming to make more money. If you have a choice go somewhere else. Also after reading other reviews that are positive on this forum, I'm convinced that they are ppl paid by Dr. Vikis to write them or she has such an obvious bias that only some people leave happy.
Although the communication from the office and their policies can be frustrating at times as people have stated, working in health care myself, I understand how busy these offices get. Most specialist offices have a cancellation policy and fee for non compliance so this is not out of the ordinary, especially for offices with long wait lists. Dr Vikis herself is a wonderful surgeon and her surgical residents are amazing as well. I had laparoscopic bowel resection surgery back in June for my Crohn's and the care I received was wonderful. It was my first surgery and both Dr. Vikis and her resident made sure I was well taken care of. 6 months later, I am feeling well and you can hardly see my scars at all. Thank you Dr Vikis!
