We've got the opinions of real people who are using the services and products of Columbia Square Medical and Laser Center (Doctor) in New Westminster area (Canada).
Nowadays the business gets a rating of 2.4 out of 5 and the rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is very insufficient, and it is based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may think that the evaluation is very reliable. If people have bothered to rate when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to write feddbacks when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Doctor corresponds to the category of Medical clinic.
If you dont mind waiting multiple hours to see a Doctor then go for this place. Doctors are sp behind because its a walk in that they arent even paying attention to your needs.
RUDE RUDE RUDE! Everytime I have called this clinic their receptionists are completely abrasive and rude! They speak a mile a minute and just want to get you off the phone as quick as possible! GET SOME BETTER RECEPTIONISTS! When they arn't rude they look at you like a deer in headlights over the simplest questions like they have no idea what you are talking about! HATE this clinic!
I don't normally give one star reviews but the last 3 experiences I have had in this clinic were all negative. It should not be the case that you walk away from a health clinic in a bad mood but that has become the trend. The doctors don't seem happy for some reason. Answers are usually curt with, long, frustrated sighs and a general air of irritability. I have experienced this from both Drs. Payne and Farag. From what I have read in other reviews this is a fairly consistent experience. I would recommend avoiding if possible.
I took my baby to the walk in clinic here. The staff was helpful, not super smiley, but you only need them to do their job, which she did. Dr. Payne was polite, and helped my baby, but you can tell she doesn't work with kids that often, since she didn't even say hi to him or tried to warm him up so she could examine him. It was hard for her to look at his ears, and listen to his lungs and so on because he just kept moving away from her since she didn't try to approach him at first. My baby always warms up to people really easily, so I don't think I'll use this clinic again since it was somehow uncomfortable.
I had an excellent experience. The receptionist was very profession and polite. There was a staff member going around cleaning door handles and other areas. Dr. Irina Payne was amazing, she was very helpful and easy to talk to. I highly recommend. Thank you Staff .
Doctor didn’t care to look into my problem at all and prescribed drugs that could have killed me. Very terrible clinic and I agree with most of the reviews - if there was an option for 0 stars I would have given that to this clinic.
If there is a 0 , I would rate it 0. Supper slow here, wasting of my time . When I walk in there are 3 patiens in front of me, and there are two doctors working, I been told the wait is 20~30 min . So i wait. I have never seen any clinic this slow , I waiter for a hour, finaly I am in one of the room, and I was waited other 10 mins sitting in there. Stay away from this place
Been using this clinic for 5 yrs. Never had an issue. Good doctors and staff, straight to the point, fix the problem, referrals if necessary. Never waited more than 30min to get in.
I am posting this review on behalf of my wife. If giving 0 star was an option I would do that. The doctor did not even look at her or check her and prescribed her medicines without knowing her skin history. Pathetic service
The rudest receptionist I’ve ever come across. Not to mention the worst run practice I’ve ever seen. Do yourself a favour and find another clinic.
This clinic is the worst walk-in clinic I have been to: if I can put a negative rating, I definitely would. To start, the staff members are discourteous and extremely rude. dr. Payne was sloppy and did not care about the patients' well being at all. We encountered a situation in which we were not sure about our medical coverage and the receptionist assured us that the coverage would apply. We were going to postpone our doctor's visit but we took her word and expertise (on hindsight, a ploy to rip unknowing patients off) and went ahead to see the doctor. In fact, the two of us went in together for less than 5 minutes to see dr. Payne. She was sloppy and mixed up the referral letters of for us and did not even apologize. Additionally, she was very uncaring and wanted to spend as little time as possible with her patients. After we were charged with a whopping $150 bill/patient for a less than 5 minutes' of her time (it also explains why she had to rush from one patient to another: since it's $150/less 5 minute visit), we had a clear understanding of her motive. The billing department was also extremely rude and hung up on our phone call when we called in to clarify. In summary, this clinic will do whatever it takes to maximize their profits from unknowing patients, takes little interest (if at all) of their patients' well being and have the most horrible staffing (both receptionist and doctor) ever. Save yourself some time and money and DO NOT VISIT THIS CLINIC. They explicitly mentioned that they do not need our business.
Says they are open to 7. Show up at 4:10 and told they did not have a medical doctor after 4 Leave work early next day to get there by 3:30 Told they closed at 3pm anf closed next day Receptionist was very unhelpful.
Mandy McIver is an absolute gem of a doctor but the reception here never answer the phone. It's out on busy for hours at a time whenever they presumably send receptionists home early? When they are in they are really nice folks though. You could do a lot worse for a walk in. Also saw Dr Irina once here and she was very to the point but pleasant enough!
Several bad experiences at this clinic including rude staff, not open when they are supposed to be, and no doctor present (Skype appointment offered????). Please do yourself a favour and just cross over 10th Street to the other walk in clinic which has always been very good in every way, although they are not open Sundays.
Okay, for the record, this whole experience was at least partly my fault (or maybe could have been avoided) because I procrastinated a bit about getting my five year old a flu shot, and then panicked when school was starting up the next day and reports that the H1N1 flu was starting to get rampant. In November, I called Fraser Health to try and make an appointment, but they informed me that kids five and up could get a flu shot at a pharmacy. Not so. I asked at two Shopper's Drug Marts, two Pharmasaves and Imperial Pharmacy on Carnarvon and all said no, giving different ages for their own minimum, but all were over 6. So I thought I'd just pop into this new walk-in clinic and get a doctor to do it, which I thought would be better for my daughter anyway. Nope. I should have just left when the doctor asked ME if she was there for "the regular flu shot." Um, yeah, I think so? WTH does that question even mean? Then she clarifies with "the full flu shot, yes?" So, she leaves to go get the shot (which I've already paid for), and she comes back and tells me it's better if we do it in the bum. My kid has had every vaccination under the sun since birth, including the flu shot by public health nurses at the free clinic, and NO ONE has ever even suggested doing it in her bum. And my kid is immediately uncomfortable with this and tried to squirm, and the doc says "you have to hold her down, or I won't do the shot." I'm sorry, but I'm not holding my kid down like someone dealing with a "problem" patient or something. I insist that she does it in the arm, and she quickly jabs my kid, and leaves the room. She offered no bandaid, no comfort, and didn't even look at the injection site after. Just "have a nice day," and leaves. I was so upset, I just left the office, and it wasn't until I was halfway home that I realized that even at Shopper's Drug Mart, where I got my own flu shot, they asked me kindly to wait for 15 minutes before leaving after my shot. As far as I'm concerned, these guys are only interested in making money off of doing Botox injections and other cosmetic procedures, but it is NOT interested in being a family friendly medical clinic. Or if they are they need to work on their bedside manner with children, and maybe be a little more confident in practising actual medicine. I will never go back there.
Generally good clinic. Saw a doctor 3 times, first two times were ok, third time I visited the the doctor seemed rushed. They have hired new receptionists which is very well appreciated
Don't waste your time. The receptionist is not helpful and to boot, the doctor didn't do her job. I waited hours and received a wrong prescription from the doctor who didn't even blink an eye at me. Waste of time, effort and money.
closed 4 hours early
I called on a Friday afternoon and they were able to see me right away. Received patient and thoughtful care!
I can't speak for the other doctors or the clinic itself, but my partner has had multiple very disturbing experiences with Dr. Hanan Farag. She was very rude and even had the audacity of telling my partner he was disrespectful for rescheduling a prior appointment he had due to work related scheduling, and that he doesn't have to come back to their clinic. He kindly apologized and didn't think much of it, but the second time he went back to her, she purposely made him wait for longer than he had to while having small talk with the front desk people and a horrid attitude. Just absolute unprofessional behaviour and just ungracious mannerism. Doctors should treat patients with the same amount of respect they demand to receive, not put people down without knowing their circumstances of rescheduling and make them feel uncomfortable in the patient room. Absolutely unacceptable.
I was applaud by this medial clinic – I have a 14 month old who had the flu and was vomiting and I arrived at this clinic that was walking distance for me as I do not drive. When I arrived the clinic was completely empty and was told from the medical receptionist I was not allowed to have my stroller with me and to leave it outside. I was shook, my one year old is sick and the comfort of her stroller worked best, secondly New Westminster has a lot of theft and strollers are a valuable expensive item. I confronted her and said if my stroller gets stolen for being left outside will your clinic be accountable? She said absolutely not…. I waited outside the clinic with my sick little one for 25 minutes until I was called in to see the doctor and she refused to service my daughter because of the stroller standing in front of the door. Refusing us because of a stroller is discrimination. I ask myself what if someone with a wheel chair had come to this clinic? This is the first time in my entire life going to a medical walk in clinic and being told we aren’t allowed in because of our stroller. When other patients started to walk in they even agreed with how disturbing the situation was. Do not call yourself a walk in “medical” clinic if you have zero empathy for sick children and the understanding that babies for their comfort and health need to be kept in a stroller. They also had the audacity to have a sign saying please don’t allow your children to walk or play in the clinic… so they should stay in their strollers correct?
The FEMALE doctors are great but the receptionists... terribly rude! Not at all discreet about you're reason for having to see a female doctor in the first place (found this out in a full waiting room by the way), very disorganized and they've cancelled my appointment without my say twice now. I thought I had made another appointment shortly after they told me they've accidentally cancelled the one i had in the oncoming week but when i called a few days before the appointment i thought i had, they told me one was never made. Now I have to wait another two weeks for an appointment i should be having tomorrow!!
Horrible - wrong medication prescribed twice. Would not suggest this place to anyone. You’ve been warned
Very friendly and polite staff. Knowledgable doctors. Nice and quiet environment.
I spoke with three different doctors at other walk-in clinics and even went to Emergency, and nobody gave me the level of care that Dr. Grewal did. They even reimbursed me when I paid for an exam that wasn't necessary. I would definitely recommend this clinic.
Walking distance from my house AND they have female doctors! What could be better? Except maybe receptionists who don't reschedule me 3 separate times because "the other receptionist booked me in an unavailable spot". Or maybe it would be nice if the doctor made eye contact with the patient and acted as if they cared at all about your health or well being instead of being about as cold and unresponsive as a dead fish. Like another reviewer, I requested a flu shot in addition to the complaint that I came in for. The doctor jabbed me and left the room without saying anything. It was over so fast that I wasn't even positive that she had done it at all and certainly didn't seem concerned about keeping me around to make sure I didn't have a negative reaction. Granted I haven't seen every doctor at this clinic, only the Russian doctor (sorry, I don't remember her name), but I feel like if I had been there for a chemical peel, I might have been treated better . . .
Notorious for changing their hours without notice, so don't be surprised if you show up and find a handwritten note posted on the door advising they are closed for the day. This happens repeatedly.
Useless
Why won't you guys ever answer the phone!
This is by far the worst clinic i've been to. Did my X-ray for a fractured toe two weeks ago (Dec 14th) and in the past week i've showed up 3 times and still don't really know if my toes are fractured or not. Left work early and Showed up on wed Dec 16th at 5:30 PM and the clinic was closed even tho the receptionist told me they will be open till 7. Again came on Saturday dec 19th at 2 pm. Clinic was closed even tho they close at 3 pm according to their website. Again took a day off work today Monday Dec 21st and i was told by receptionist the doctor wont be working today. This is extremely inconvenient and frustrating to walk with a toe that has an unbearable pain and to come 3 time in a week just to get frustrated and leave. They don't even deserve the one star.
Booked an appointment online and the doctor didn’t even call. They don’t really care about the patient I guess …
Staff are polite and pro..very nice people.
Best clinic in New West. The wait times are shortest, the doctors the most thorough, the receptionist the most friendly. I've been to all the clinics in this city and this is the first one to address my issues promptly, with follow-up references to specialists. I've found the doctor on Friday to be superb, who immediately called an ambulance when she determined I was having a heart attack. I was cared for with humanity and professionalism on every visit.
First time I went in for my appointment, I had no problems. They did not call me to tell me that they got the results and to book a time to discuss it. I had to call them by myself a month later to book one. On the day of the appointment, I called an hour AFTER my appointment to ask when I would be meeting with the doctor. Receptionist told me that the doctor was running behind but that they would call me back FOR SURE that day. I waited the whole day and finally, at 7:30, half an hour before they close, I called them and I got an automated message telling me that the clinic was closed. SHOULD'VE LISTENED TO THE REVIEWS ON HERE.
called at 230 pm to see if there was room, doctor left at 2 pm even though they are open until 8 pm. no solution provided by staff just at "too bad" attitude. what a pathetic medical system.
This place is awful. They're always changing their hours. We need a clinic right now and only find out they're closed when we get to the door. The doctors aren't great either, if you can even see one.
Despite the bad reviews, I decided to still give this clinic a try. I should have listened!!! Made an appointment, it was okay, but never gave me any sort of instructions in regards of the procedure that I was having. They then called me left a message and told me that I needed to rebook. I promptly called them back to rebook my appointment, again no instructions or information for my procedure. Showed up to my appointment, I apparently was not in their system and I did not call back to rebook my appointment with them. I simply told them that that was beyond unacceptable on their part, as I did call, that I was a clerk as well, and I will be finding another clinic to do the procedure that I was suppose to have there. Was left feeling Beyond Disgusted, Never again will I go to that clinic for anything. *Note found another clinic that was very on top of bookings, that gave information about the procedure and were very polite*
I have been to this clinic a number of times and have had good experiences every time. The staff are friendly and nice if you treat them respectfully. Doctors are thorough and understanding.
I went in September when it first opened. Very nice and modern clinic. There was no one else in waiting room, around 10am when I went, so I didn't even have to wait. Pretty awesome location right next to my apartment, free parking if you need it too. The female doctor was a very good listener (sorry, I'm very bad with remembering names), and I felt she gave me good guidance and referrals. I'll go back soon for some blood work and maybe a physical. But yeah, I think it's great to have this new clinic in the community. I know the quality of clinics around here has been pretty disappointing, based on Google reviews, so hopefully these guys can step it up a notch.
Dr Hanan Farag didn’t even look at me when came into the room, she didn’t touch me to make sure I wasn’t feeling pain and prescribed the medicine totally wrong that the pharmacist had trouble to understand and had to change the hole prescription to make sure I would take the right amount for what I was in need. I would give zero star if I could! Do not recommend! Not returning to this doctor ever again!
I have seen Dr. Hanan Farag. She was in a big rush and didn’t want to answer most of the questions I had, showed no care and literally got rid of me as soon as she could. Apparently doctors at walk-in clinics are only there to give referrals to simple tests. For anything else you need a family doctor. Though I understand she might have had a lot of patients waiting, this attitude is unacceptable.
These people should not be in charge of anyone's health care! The doctors pay very little to no attention to you, and their communication with the patients is absolutely terrible. This rings true when it comes to their lack of social skills which is often translated to rudeness and a condescending attitude, but also to the fact that they don't really talk about your history (I've had useless exams be ordered because of that, and also others be ignored due to their complete lack of interest in my health history), they don't ask questions about your symptoms, and they barely examine you at all. This is my local clinic, and since I don't drive, I have needed to visit them on several different occasions, and I've seen at least two different doctors (Dr Farag and Dr Payne), and my experiences were always really bad. They seemed eager to dismiss me on every occasion, and never seem to want to listen to your worries. I've had them dismiss me, and ask me to seek treatment at an ophthalmology clinic for a symptom that had absolutely nothing to do with my eyes other than the fact that it presented near them (on one of my eyelids). And the doctor never even looked at it! On a different visit, based on what I described to the receptionist as my symptoms, she handed the doctor a test request form before I even talked to the doctor. After asking her a few questions about those tests, and what informations I'd get from them, she dismissed me in an extremely condescending way by saying "I'd have all the information I wanted and even things I would not understand at all"- only for me to find out later looking at the results that she never requested the test I inquired about in the first place. These are not people that I would ever trust to care about something as precious as my health, and if you have any other choice, and I mean ANY OTHER CHOICE, please stay as far away from this place as you can.
The service from both the reception and doctors is great!
Best medical clinic in New Westminster. I have been going here for a while now and even up till today - the most wonderful experience ever. From the receptionist right up to the amazing Dr. Payne I have never been treated better at any walk-in clinic. I highly recommend.
Just had a zero star experience at this "doctors" office. The doctor Payne told me my problems were from "GMOs" and repeated a bunch of falsehoods to support her position. I didn't receive treatment, I just got lazy easily debunked garbage. Not even a suggestion on how to seek treatment just a rant that would be quickly dismissed with a Google search. I didn't argue with her or raise my voice but she quickly left our meeting and didn't explain anything she prescribed. I wasn't even sure the meeting was over! What a waste of time!
I have very mixed feelings about this place. I have seen 2 amazing doctors and three less than great doctors. I found the less than great ones to be dismissive of my symptoms, and didn't seem to understand what I was saying. Each failed trip resulted with a visit to a different clinic where I was able to be understood and treated. There have been a lot of comments about the MOA, she is very business, which does makes her seem unwelcoming and unfriendly at times. She does her job well, without a smile, but some people are just that way. They had a visiting specialist come in that I was able to have an appointment with, she was absolutely fantastic. There is a lot of potential with this place. Fridays seem to be a good day to go, or they at least were. Bring your care card, they ask to see it every time, even if you have been there multiple times.
Update: Winter 2018: very nice receptionist what a relief hope they fired the old one. We will see. Pre winter 2018: Never have I experienced such a rude receptionist! Worst humans I have ever met. Shame on the good doctors that run this place.
I've always had a great experience here. I've never waited long for the walk in clinic. The doctors have always been professional and pleasant. The front desk has always been friendly, fast and organized. The place is very clean and kept up to standards.
The stuff, are well knowledgeable, and professional I had to wait for another 30 min, but as everyone mentioned it s a walking clinic.
Been coming to this clinic since 2013. Dr. Irina Payne is the best doctor in town!
I've been to a few clinics throughout the lower-mainland over the past 15 years and this is by far the best one I've ever been to. Where do these complaining people come from? I want to know where these perfect clinics that they are used to are located. Most clinics in and around Vancouver are overcrowded, understaffed, and you're lucky to see a doctor within a 2hr wait. I have been to this clinic probably 15 times over the past 6-7 years and each time was a good experience including the reception. Dr.Payne has been very good during COVID making herself as available as possible, and I couldn't ask for anything better considering I don't have a family doctor like so many others.
Dr. Irina and the clinic receptionists are great! They helped my mother as a walk-in patient. Despite a busy day they found a time slot in which we waited no more than 1 hour. Dr. Irina was thorough in her assessment and was very kind and warm. Thank you!
I booked a phone appointment twice( last week and today). Never got a call. I don't know how they are working . What is the system they are using? The receptionist said to wait a call from 9:30am to 5pm.It ridiculous ???? Its 4:25 pm, and nobody called. Very disappointing.
Horrible experience. Take your pet somewhere else.
My experience here every time is always unwelcoming. The people at the front desk are always unfriendly. Though, I don't expect sunshine and rainbows, but as an individual who's time is as equally valuable as the Doctors, I as a patient also deserve the be respected and to feel welcomed! A little "Hi, how are you?" wouldn't hurt either. I took the rest of the day off of work because I wasn't feeling well. The lady at the front desk was very unwelcoming and unfriendly. I asked the lady beside her if I could speak to their manager, and she directed me to the unfriendly lady I was just talking to. So, after giving my complaint of unfriendly and unwelcoming visits, the manager was not helpful and did not assure me that my next visit would be better, or that they would at least talk to their staff about this ongoing issue! I understand that they probably see 100 people or more every day, and that they may get unpleasant patients who make their jobs difficult, but this is their job and NOT every patient is out to make their jobs difficult. And if they really dislike working there, then I suggest finding a new job that makes them happy, because they are not happy people. I had to go next door to the pharmacy and ask for better treatment, and they were VERY HELPFUL AND WELCOMING!!!
Awesome service when they are not swamped! DR asked the right questions and helped me even save money on my prescription. when my regular dr is not available this is where i take my family.
Not sure why those grunpy and extremely rude receptionists are still working at the clinic. I have seen many complaints against them on the internet. Can't bear with their attitude any more.
Went in this morning at 8.40am as there weren't too many places open. Their website and door notice said they +opened at 9am but The Dr hadnt even arrived and nor was she going to until just after 10am! Dr Jia Zeng saw me but didn't even have the simple courtesy to say she was sorry for arriving an HOUR late! I guess my time wasnt important to her!
I visited 3 times. All the time i was treated very well. I just love the girl at reception she's so cute..❤
No doctor present (Skype appointment offered ). I have never heard of that. Is this legal? I think it's an absurd.
Rudest experience of my life.
super nice interior, friendly staff
Quick service and friendly staff at the front desk. Great first visit. Wait time was only an hour which isn’t bad in this area for a walk-in.
Dr. Carllin Man is great and I have followed him to the Welcome Medical Clinic at 6th st and 10th ave. where he now practices. The clinic does not feel welcoming with all their signs about "no strollers" and that you will be refused service if you have your cell phone on. I understand there are reasons for their rules but the presentation is unfriendly.
An array of services from addiction medicine to cosmetic procedures. Love this.
I never seen a clinic with so many bad reviews. I called to ask a few questions and the rude receptionist just hung up on me. "Okay Bye". Well Im not going to waste my time going there.
Horrible clinic gone here two times and will never go back. Turned me away both times when I needed medical attention. They don’t treat anything just turn you away after wasting your time. How can they claim to treat skin issues but tell me to wait over a month for a very irritated sore issue and tells me to put polysporn on it what a waste of space clinic
Awful excuse of a medical clinic. I assume for cosmetic procedures it's fine. The doctor's inspire no confidence and the receptionists did not seem to know what an IUD is. Do not go here if you need medical help. This is the worst clinic I have ever been to.
They don't have a functioning telephone system, so when they decide to close the clinic for the day, there's no way of knowing that until you go there and see the note on the door. Reception is absolutely atrocious. Rude, dismissive and condescending. The ads and tvs showing commercials everywhere for cosmetic surgery is insulting. There's so little options for clinics in the area, so I've been forced to go to this clinic a few times. I've had pretty good experiences with the doctors, but everything else about this dump is awful. If you can avoid it, do.
Doctors and staff are great! Doing the best they could. Highly recommended.
No good Not friendly no good skills
It’s ok
The reception was not friendly or welcoming at all. There are too many other places to take our business. I now see why the ratings for this clinic are so low.
I told the doctor I was struggling to manage my anxiety and she told me i'm " a horomonal woman, get outside more. do some yoga." Not only do i not feel listened to, but this clinic will have 0 respect for your time. Theres been times i've waited an hour and a half passed my appointment time. theres times where i've been entirely stood up for my appointment. i can't believe this place is even open. do NOT waste your time going here.
Always have to wait 2 to 3 times longer than they tell you. No apologies.
This place needs to be shut down. No doctor at clinic. Told to come back in 3 hrs. Received a call in 2 hrs saying doctor wont be in. No advise when I should come back or where I could go. Clueless and unaware. Not sure why this is okay.
I felt a bit judged during my appointment. Told the doc about lifestyle, and instead of trying to help me with a percription, she simply told me to start eating fish again and gradually get back to eating meat..
They never pick up the phone so.....yeah.
The doctors are wonderful and I've been using this clinic for years; however the receptionist MELISSA I found to be unkind. Being late is circumstantial and front staff should know that patients are coming in for one stressful reason over another and not just treat them like a number and make faces. If Melissa can spend time talking about her stocks and plan parties, patients can be late on occasion, yes on occasion. Love the doctors
If I could give 0 stars I would. The receptionists are both dreadful, and the doctors aren’t anything to write home about. Go literally anywhere else.
I have been visiting this clinic since Aug /2018 due to neck pains. I would say one of the best clinics. Dr. Payne is really good at what she does, and is very professional. I would highly recommend this clinic.
Miserable staff and uncaring doctors. They try and get you out as quickly and with the least amount of paper work as possible. Do yourself a favour go somewhere else.
Avoid if possible. Cant tell you if the doctors are any good because due to absolutely incompetant and rude front desk staff, i left.
Garbage
Very nice staff and docs. Professional and straight to the point. Regular operation as at any walk in clinic: so, no appointments and the waiting time is not fixed, so you may need to wait longer than you were hoping to, but that’s only because there are other people who need doctor’s help and attention who happen to walk in earlier. I received a very fast follow up phone call on my test results. Thank you, would definitely recommend.
I don't get the negative press on this clinic. Occasionally I have had difficulty getting through by phone, but always manage to get an appointment on relatively short notice. The receptionists are professional and courteous. Which is amazing given the stuff I have seen them have to deal with on my short waits there. Also, Dr. Farag is a concerned and caring doctor. She has been very responsive to my questions and concerns. I have no problem recommending her. Thanks Columbia Square Medical.
If there’s zero star option, I would give Dr.Farag zero. My experience with her always unpleasant. She seems to be lack in communication skills With a quiet rude manners. I am not expecting caring doctors here, but she really has to work on the communication skill and social skills. Maybe getting doctor’s degree does not require good English here. Other doctors and receptionists are ok at this clinic.
Due to my personal experiences this is by far one of the best walk in* clinics I’ve been to, despite what other reviews say… Dr. Farag and Dr. Maciver always takes their time to thoroughly assess my issues. The receptionist are professional and helpful. I’m really glad they changed their staff… previous receptionists few years ago was not the best. *they are now only by appointment because of covid so be aware.
I booked an appointment online for a phone consultat to discuss some results. I received an confirmation email and a reminder email for my appointment one day before!! and she still didn't even bother to call me! When I called the reception they told me they never received my appointment booking! What a joke! I honestly think the doctor just wasn't in the mood to do any more patients. I ask to speak to an different doctor at the same day to discuss my results. And this doctor was friendly but didn't want to recoomend any further treetments and just refered me to speak with the other doctor!
I have been to the clinic for 3 times, the first 2 visits were fine but my last visit was really a bad experience. It was a Saturday and I attended the clinic because I received a phone call the day before, telling me my report is received and the doctor wanted to see me asap. I was told the clinic will stay open till 2pm. I went there at around 10:30 am, the receptionist (not the two I have seen before) registered for me and told me to get back at around 1:20pm. We went back home and had lunch, planning to get back at around 1:20pm, however, when we arrived at 1:23pm, the door was shut and the receptionist refused to open the door, just told me they are closed already!! I knew I was late for 3 minutes, but I was told to return at AROUND 1:20, and the receptionist who called me on Friday, said they opened till 2pm, but they just shut their door so early before 2pm!! My husband and I were so unhappy and could only leave. This is totally a nightmare, not to mention that I'm pregnant! NO apology, no empathy at all.
After they confirmed i can see a doctor they told me there are none available and told me I must do a virtual appointment for an assessment. This is ridiculous. Why lie
Honestly the clinic is great. They do what needs to be done. Don't relate to any of these petty reviews about how rude everyone is, super sensitive.. These are people not robots, and they do their job well. Doctors see up to 50 patients a day.. its hard work
Wait time is so long and it is not worth it.
Beautiful clinic, I got free parking right outside the door. The Doc actually took some time and did a full examination, turns out I have hypertension. The new meds work really well and I feel so much better. Thanks guys, excellent work.
Totally waisted of time in this clinic !! I got ingure on the 30th of abril 2018, sent by the doctor for X-ray . Call next day to check if my result were in but no answer . Call again next day and they said they didn’t have the results yet and to wait for them to call me . Almost 2 weeks after I get a call from the clinic calling me in to talk to the doctor. But no appointments for the next 2 days . Today I got in and doctor explain that the X-rays results said that I have a broken R5th metacarpal and it need to be cast . So dont go there by any circumstances is your health in the line !!!
Cancelled my appointment with no call or voicemail and told me when I walked in my appointment was cancelled due to snow, I asked why I wasnt called and they said they tried to reach me since yesterday even though I had no missed calls on my phone. I was quite annoyed as I took a $15 taxi just to get there and took a day off work and asked for a drop in appointment instead, and they said they're full for the day, it was 2 and they close at 8. Not impressed at all.
Went a couple of times and saw both Dr. Farag and Dr. Goswami.. sometimes there’s a wait even if you have a scheduled appointment but that’s expected at every doctors office. Front desk is very professional and helpful, never had any issues. Clean space and the doctors are great! Sad to see that some didn’t have the same experience
Went in for a swollen/infected lip and the doctor did not even know what the problem was. She came into the room on her phone saying shes doing some reading on my problem and looking up methods. She did a few things which i'm sure she's never tried before because she seemed very uncertain on how to carry out what she intended to do. I am now at home and my lip is 100% more swollen/infected than when I went in. I would honestly ask to see medical credentials before I see anyone at this place because it did not feel like anyone knew what they were doing! Go anywhere but here honestly!
Very rude front desk staff.
Highly recommend this clinic. The staff are very helpful and organized. The staff and Doctors at this clinic are very knowledgeable. I have had many referrals in which they all were taken care of promptly. It is also a bonus to walk in to a clinic very clean. You don't see very many clinics that is so spotless all the time.
Came as a walk-in as it didn't seem too busy, and hoped for a consultation about a problem I saw a previous clinic for a few months ago. While I understood the doctor had to leave soon, I still expected some degree of professionalism in diagnosing the problem. Sadly I didn't get that here. She was unfriendly, rude, and dismissive without cause. Guess I'll go somewhere else.
A walk in clinic that's open on Sundays, super booyah! Arrived shortly after opening time, the receptionist was helpful and really nice. Dr. Payne came around fairly quickly and was able to help us. A really good, quick doctors visit. This is a great place to go.
I've used this clinic before, and so far my experience with this clinic has been great. Well, sometimes you need to wait like 30-40min regardless of the appointment but the doctors are nice and informative. The receptionists were super helpful as well as they usually answer your call. I met with Dr.Farag recently. She did provide additional information on what to prepare for a long flight for my wife who's pregnant via phone on the same date after finishing seeing the doctor. She reached out to someone in her network to get more advice, which I found super helpful. I'd recommend this clinic if you live close as they still accept new walk-ins.
I was in at 9 and out at 9:30. Front desk was pleasant and efficient, saw the Dr within 5 min.
A young doctor from ubc totally botched a routine removal of a planter wart in January. My whole toe swelled three times it's normal size and I couldn't drive for weeks. I went to a different doctor and they sent me to the emergency room. I have nerve damage and scars now. Do not go here.
Both times I've visited this clinic they've prescribed me the wrong dose of prescribed medication which caused me to have to wait for the pharmacy to resolve it with the doctor. The first time this happened I had to wait over an hour. The second time this happened the pharmacist's inquiry to the clinic was ignore despite a fax and numerous phone calls. I walked back into the clinic myself to complain in order to get my prescription fixed. Even then the doctor seemed confused about the dosage being wrong. Also minimal checks were done by the doctor. I'll never come here again.
I've actually had pretty good experiences using the Walk In clinic here (in comparison to some others in New West that I've used). I have been to see multiple doctors about a recurring issue that shouldn't be a recurring issue, and the doctor here (who was about the 6th I've seen overall for this issue), finally told me the reason why it keeps happening (which was the correct reason!, and no other doctor realised it... and by the way it wasn't that complicated of an issue nor that profound of a discovery as to what was going wrong). So, I have to say, I've had good experiences here.
Despite being open until 8 and having a completely empty waiting room, there is no doctor available. Receptionist didn't even look up from her screen as she told me this, and didn't offer any suggestion as to where I should go for help. Don't go here - they just don't care.
After moving to the area last year I've gone to this clinic twice and have seen Dr. Romey both times. She's an excellent doctor and each time I've gone I've dropped in and have waited less than a half hour.
I went to get my blood work and knee looked at just on a walk in. the doctor told me I would have to come back because other patients are going to have to wait twice as long and that was a totally different thing. Highly unprofessional, highly push, uncaring. I will never come back to this clinic again. most worst experience at a walk in clinic
As walk-in clinic, it is first come first serve basis and I find the wait time (ave 1-2 hours) reasonable and relative to number of patients for the day. Despite the long list of patients, front desk staff and doctors are very attentive, courteous and professional. I normally go to my family doctor but on few times my doctor is on vacation, my family goes to this walk-in clinic and we are satisfied. The place looks clean and neat.
Receptionists not only rude but evil. Doctors not only lack of knowledge but evil too. After so many complaint nothing changes. Go figure who is leading this? Owner!
Went in for drop in apt yesterday; first time in the Clinic. Doctor referred me to a service for further assistance; when I tried calling them today they told me they didn't take patients without referrals from doctors. She didn't send them a referral for me. Called back to the clinic today and the doctor went on holiday until the 28th of March. Receptionist told me to deal with it and come in another day as they don't even have a walk in doctor available. Go the 10th street medical and save yourself the headache, the service is worth the wait.
Terrible service, rude receptionist and extremely long waits. I left work early to be here for an appointment at 2:20 it's been almost an hour and I'm still waiting. Avoid this clinic if possible it is a very bad experience
While the staff here are friendly Dr Payne is horrible. I have been to this walk in clinic twice with my daughter only for this Dr to speak to me like i'm an idiot and say that there is no problem or that "babies don't get that" when 100% there clearly is and they do. I'm not sure what issues people come to her with that are actually resolved but it can't be more than the common cold.
I went to my family doctor 6 months ago to show him my shoulder ( I pulled it really badly at the gym) and he told me to get it messaged by my girlfriend .....i also have a history of heart problems in my family and he has NEVER sent me for blood tests and i asked 3-4 times and hes has never done anything, I was in the area and decided to check out the new clinic plus my shoulder has been giving me more trouble lately i only waited about 5 mins and i saw Dr.Javer he did a full check of my shoulder by actually feeling my arm and making sure where the pain was. He gave me a xray and gave me blood tests, so i have torn ligaments and my cholesterol is high thanks to dr javer i can start my diet and actually fix this before it could have been too late
Great walk in clinic! Dr. Maciver is fantastic and the girls up front are super helpful and friendly.
Dr Payne misdiagnosed me, plain and simple. She delivered her diagnosis with no compassion and was in and out without so much as a comforting apology. I was tortured by this diagnosis and the untreated pain for two years before having an emergency MRI which pointed disproved her diagnosis, and also showed it had absolutely no basis to begin with. I was sent for more testing by a competent Dr who didn't assume they knew everything and guess what? Pain free, almost six years after starting to suffer daily. Avoid this clinic. They have no idea what they are talking about.
Only come here if you wanna be ignored by the front desk girls
The medical clinic is serviceable. For the MOA's they are competent and diligent enough in doing their job. I have seen most of the reviews that does not even reflect on the doctors and personnel working in this medical office, most of the reviews are even discriminatory and bigoted. That makes me wonder why clients that are satisfied with the services are not giving their piece. To sum this up, high five to all the people working in health care field.
Worst clinic experience I have ever had. Dr.Goswani is excellent and this review is not at all a reflection of her or the other doctors. The two receptionists here are extremely rude ! I honestly can't understand why this hasn't been addressed when they have so many reviews specifically about them. I would not recommend this clinic to anybody and if this happens to be your closest clinic I would say a commute to another clinic will probably end up saving you time as there waits are long and even when you have appointments you don't actually go in at that time ( for me 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time which I left work early for )
Was scheduled a phone appointment yesterday but never received a call. When I called reception today to follow up they shared “well yesterday was a holiday”. Then why was I booked in on a holiday if they were closed?….not very impressed by this.
Incredibly rude receptionists who absolutely don't give a **** about their patients. When you ask them a question, they don't even bother to look you in the face. They speak their own language with each other (Tagalog?) in front of the patients. This is Canada, ladies, speak English. I'm an immigrant myself and consider their behavior offensive and rude. The doctors don't seem to know what they are doing. They had to google my health issue. Also, it clearly says on the web that they are open until 8 pm. They actually close at 16:45. Sometimes even at 4 pm. So don't waste your time coming here. They aren't qualified.
The receptionist on November 2, 2020 was very rude. I booked an appointment thru the website and showed up to be told the appointment was online only. Attempted to go online but appointment was not available anymore even though should have been open for another 2 minutes. 0 stars is not allowed on reviews.
The hours said they where open but when I got there at 9:15 am the door was lock, the receptionist was inside. She finally came to the door and said they were closed because they had no doctor for the day. Someone had forgot to tell me there would be no doctor no site this Sunday.
I called in today to book an appointment. The receptionist was friendly and very helpful. Good first experience.
Waste of time! First they don't accept bookings, then they're fully booked the next day. Avoid
I booked an appointment with Doctor. Hedges and she saw me only for 40seconds. She didnt even look at me and told me you are good to go.
Despite being a busy clinic, I’ve been treated professionally by the staff and doctors. They always let me know when a doctor will be available and when to come back.
Worst clinic I have ever been in, clearly just interested in cosmetic procedures, couldn't care less about the average patient. Do not go here. I doubt they care but I hope I can save a patient from a terrible and dehumanizing experience
Tip: Try to have Dr. Grewal (call ahead to ask when she is in). She was great. I had another male Doctor during my first experience and it was the most horrible experience I had ever had (I actually was planning on never going back there). Can't remember the guys name. My throat was on fire during a teaching practicum and he was very insensitive and dismissive saying that it was probably nothing. I suffered through the pain and the clinic called me a week or two later to tell me that it was, in fact strep throat. It was a horrible experience. To be safe, try to call ahead and get the schedules of the female doctors working there and you will be fine. Doctor Grewl was an amazing Doctor and I would very highly recommend her. She changed my opinion about that walk in clinic.
Impatient staff who don't care about the result. I went to this clinic to get a referral letter for specialist. They told me they would fax the referral letter to the specialist's office. I waited for more than 24 hours (weekday) but did not hear anything from the specialist's office to book an appointment, thus I called the clinic. I was told they already sent the fax and "we are done". So I called the specialist's office by myself; turned out the specialist did not receive any referral letter for me. I called the clinic again, the response I got was "but our fax machine said the fax went through". As a patient, I don't really care who dropped the ball, I care about the result. I had to nag the girl to fax it again. When I tried to give her the fax number I got from the specialist, she didn't let me finish. Given how much patience and care this clinic has shown to me, I decided to be the patient one and write this review.
I have walked into this clinic when I needed to see a doctor immediately for a severe throat infection. Other walk in clinics told me they were booked up and did not give me a chance to see a doctor that day. This clinic was nice to accommodate my visit when it was almost the end of their work day. I was seen by Dr. Payne, and she took her time trying to diagnose and figure out the problem. She took a thorough history in order to make the best recommendation. I was dismissed with antibiotics and further information for monitoring. After taking the medication I felt better within 2 days. I was really thankful for such caring and quick service.
I saw Dr Farag and she made it very easy to get my prescription. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL STAFF :)
Close to home and didnt have to wait long.
I saw them for what I thought were warts on my hand (possibly from the gym). Doc told me it wasn't warts, and put me on antibiotics. Didn't clear, so I went back and ended up seeing another doc. Different antibiotics. Didn't clear, so I went back a third time, seeing yet another different doctor. Again, more antibiotics. This time I had an allergic reaction to it. Finally went to a different walk in ( I didn't have a GP at the time) where the doctor at least gave me some differentials as to what it could be, tho his primary thought was wrong, at least I was getting somewhere!) Turns out I have psoriasis. And none of the doctors could even remotely think of that? Instead they pumped me full of antibiotics that not only didn't work, they likely made things a lot worse. What really gets me is they also do skin care treatments. Um... I have a skin condition!!! I will never go back to them, and would never recommend them to anyone. They are never open when their hours say they will be open. Oh I should make note that the final doctor prescribed me antibiotics for a MRSA infection, without bothering to test for it first, and that's the one I had the allergic reaction to, so not only did he give a powerful drug that wasn't going to work, I only partially took them so now I may have developed a resistance to the only antibiotic that works against MRSA, so if I actually do get it, I could be screwed!
I do not recommend this place. Dr. Farag is rude. Based on other comments I can see that she is just rude to everyone as well. Also, please schedule well. I had to wait around 40mins to see the doctor.
Booked a phone appointment a week in advance. The night before my 9am appointment I get a call asking if I can swap doctors and take a call the next day instead. I agree and never got a call. Receptionist implies my phone blocks private calls despite the fact I got the private call just fine the night before when they wanted to reschedule my appointment. A few days later I call back, reschedule a phone appointment and it goes well, doctor asks which pharmacy to send the prescription to and I give the name and address of the pharmacy. When I went to pickup the prescription it turns it the clinic never sent it. I'm not sure how all aspects of this clinic can be so poor. I'm thankful the prescription was not extremely time sensitive. In the future I would urge people to avoid this clinic if at all possible. 10th st. medical clinic Is across the road.
I can't speak on the doctors because I didn't even get to see anyone. It was my first time going.. I called, they said they'd be open until 8. I asked if dr. grewal was in (after reading a couple good reviews from Google), receptionist said yes and she'd be there until 8. Great. I showed up an hour after I had called, at 6 pm... But was the told the dr left. And that it's pretty typical for them to leave early when they want. So not sure what to recommend.. Call maybe when you're about 5 mins away Cus an hour beforehand won't guarantee a doctor actually being there. What a joke.
Dr Farag is rude and takes no time to actually look at you or listen to your questions. After even paying privately for my visit she kicked me out after 5min while I was still asking her a question (she said every patient just gets a 5min time slot). For a skin irritation she didn’t prescribe me any medication and just told me to dry it out myself with nail polish, which burned my skin really bad!! This doctor should not be allowed to practice on anybody, don’t go there!
Recipient is unkind and ignore the patient along with false information throughout the website
Worst experience ever. Got my tests done but never got a follow up call for appointment. I called myself after 2 weeks to make an appointment with the doctor. Took a day off from work and reached the clinic on time for my appointment only to meet with the shock that they cancelled my appointment as the doctor has gone on sick leave but did not even bother to call and leave me a message or inform me about the cancellation. It was pouring heavily and I drove all the way to the clinic to find out that my appointment is cancelled. The receptionist was so rude. She kept on insisting that she called me the previous day and even after showing her my phone and telling her that I did not get any voice mail from the clinic. On top of that she kept ignoring me and showed attitude for no reason. I could not believe that someone can be that irresponsible and unprofessional. She did not even had the audacity to apologize . I would never recommend this clinic to anyone.
Absolutely the worst walk in clinic I've ever had to deal with. I've come multiple times after work when they're supposed to be open and they're not because they seem to leave whenever they like. So I had to come when they first open, and be late for work, and they tell us the doctor is late. Over half an hour after opening the doctor waltzes in and proceeds to sit in her office for a while before seeing anyone! The next time I come in after leaving work early in hopes of getting in for a prescription and they tell me and the waiting room full of people, after we'd been waiting a while, that the doctor that's there is leaving and the next doctor called to say she's be an hour before getting there!! If you value your time at all avoid this sad excuse for a clinic. If anyone even seemed to care or was apologetic for all the crap it might be slightly better but no one seems to care.
The Doctor was fantastic and previously outweighed the utter contempt the admin staff has for customers. Today I attempted to call to see if they are receiving new drop-ins but the automated answering system simply stated what they will not do (anything resembling information). I could not either speak to a human or leave a message. Love the doctors, but nothing is worth the treatment you receive there.
My family doc referred me here to do a skin tag removal. The procedure costed $250, fast. The doc gave me a sterile strip on the wound and said leave it for 2 weeks. Obviously it didn't last 2 weeks and fell off in 1 day. Asked to return to remove stitches in 2 weeks. Told need not to wait. Now i have been waiting here for an hour
Doctor argued with us. Extremely unprofessional and had to wait close to 1 hours after making an appointment. Don’t go here
Very rude.
Wonderful doctors, terrible office staff. Absolutely no interest in helping someone. You get the distinct feeling you are bothering the woman at the front desk before you even speak.
This place it's nice. The doctors over there are very friendly, kind and professional but if you are calling to the clinic after 5:00 pm no one is answering even though it says they close at 8:00 pm. No receptionist at all ... Morning clinic only
Discriminates against parents and doesn't allow for strollers to enter clinics. Really!?! Welcome to 2014 Dr. Irina Baines!
Dr is too busy to listen and properly diagnose. Can't wait to go through this again in three days because the diagnosis is wrong.
