When I took my Persians for their first shots, the needle broke while Teresa was injecting it. Most of the liquid had already gone in. The grabbed another needle and gave her the shot again. I was shocked, and told her. She answered that only a little got in the first time. At 9pm my little kitten was breathing very hard, dying. I phoned Teresa. We met at her office, gave my kitten a shot, and changed us over $300 for the emergency visit. Never went back. Not even an apology.

spent over $500 and our dog's leg and it only got worse. paid upfront for 4 laser treatments and vitamin injections. when I told them it wasn't getting better they said that's just the way it is with arthritis. definitely avoid as after payment they don't care. wish I could somehow get a refund because it cost them next to nothing to put a laser on his leg for 10 mins.

Traveling from out of town needed to have an insulin curve done for my 14 year old dog. Was told the cost over the phone which included a full exam by the vet as the dog was new to the practice. It maked sense to me. When I dropped the dog the vet was not in for the day. Went to pick her up at the end of the day, I was expecting the vet to be there to go over the results. She had left for the day and left instruction with the receptionist so I was unable to ask her any questions with the results she found. Did not met the vet nor was I in the room when the full exam was done. Anytime I have an exam done by a new vet I have been in the room. Don't even know if the exam was done. The cost was over $100 more then expected over double the amount of blood sugar test where done than by my regular vet. Been a new client to the practice I was expecting the vet would want to met me ,as I travel to nelson regularly, would consider use her as vet when in town plus recommend the practice to locals. Guess not. Very disappointed.

Exceptional! From the front end staff to the vet herself, everyone is kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable, passionate and loving, understanding, patient, and goes above and beyond for your furbaby. They care deeply and it's obvious and greatly appreciated. We love Dr Hart and her staff and so do our "kids". We are so very grateful that we found this clinic.

My dog Archie is a 13 year old Schnauzer and he started seizing out of nowhere. I brought him to the clinic and after a round of diagnostics Doctor Hart was able to give me a diagnosis within an hour: Archie has a rare disease that affects his ability to digest fat. We got him on a new diet and a great medicine regime; they researched and had ordered a special food for him within a day. Archie is now doing better than he has in years; he's pretty much a puppy again. I cannot truly express how grateful I am to have my dog back in great health.

I brought my cat in, who had just suffered from an eye injury. When I dropped him off, I informed the secretary, Karen, he was scared, had never been in a carrier let alone a vehicle before and this was his first visit to a vet. 5.5hrs later I receive a phone call from them saying they can't help my animal because he's "wild, he's feral, he's destroyed the clinic, you need to come and get him and take him home or to another vet." You can imagine my disappointment, my dissatisfaction. It got better when I arrived, Karen looked crazy, like she had never dealt with an animal in her life, especially an outdoor oriented one. Annie was the only one I will praise, and I'm sorry my kitty bit her, she seemed like she was the only one who had it together. The main vet was nowhere in sight! Theresa did not say one word to me about anything that had previously occurred! I couldn't believe the unprofessionalism. Concluding this review, my kitty was well provided and cared for with NELSON ANIMAL HOSPITAL and I HIGHLY recommend you take your furry friends here! Lovely staff, professional, and know what their doing! No worries to be had. Very caring, they even check up on you and your animal!

To me Dr Hart t is a bit of a hero.. She's helped so many of my dogs over the years.. And again just yesterday she found a way to squeeze in my dog for a surgery, in her already very busy schedule. I am forever grateful for her kind heart and will trust her with my best furry friend till the day she retires.

So happy with our experience today! Just moved back to Nelson and my dogs haven’t been to a vet here yet. We needed a simple prescription that he has needed in the past and I knew the symptoms and explained and was able to get just the medicine without getting gouged start up fees and a physical exam like the last vet we had. Very friendly pleasant! And we learnt a new technique that works for taking pill form meds and we had so much trouble before. Will be back for our future needs!

Proper Veterinary Care without the gouging. Compassionate informative staff. Well worth the drive from Fruitvale. Saved our 12 year old fur baby kitty.

We took our cat there, due to him being off his food and water for a few days. The vet gave us a treatment option that was affordable and didn't involve drastic measures (ie: surgery, like another clinic seemed inclined towards), and our cat is now back to his normal healthy self. Also noteworthy is the friendly and professional staff who really care about your animals; and the multiple phone calls providing further advice. I would highly recommend this clinic.

The way they treated Baxter was world class. By far the best Vet in the entire kootenays. Thank you for everything.

We moved to the area in late 2020. Cottonwood Falls was the only clinic accepting new pets I could find between Trail and Nelson. We had our first appointment in early 2021 with them. Charlie was 10 at the time and did have previous health issues. I believe we had 4 appointments at the clinic. We generally waited 10-15 minutes for our appointment, however waited upwards of 30 minutes once. Always felt rushed and that they were overbooked. Craziness of covid and lack of vets accepting new pets I didn't let it bother me. June 4th I received a call from my girlfriend saying Charlie was acting weird and something was wrong. I left work and came home. Instantly I knew something was wrong and called Cottonwood Falls Animal Clinic to bring Charlie in for after hours emergency appointment. Answering service told me to sit tight and Dr Hart would be in touch soon. 30 minutes later I don't hear anything so I called back again, telling them how concerned I am and I want to start driving into Nelson(we live in Salmo). They tell me to sit tight Dr Hart will be in touch soon and could potentially drive out to our house in Salmo. After another 20 minutes I decide I'm no longer waiting, started driving to Nelson and called another clinics emergency after hour line. That doctor called me back within 5 minutes and was waiting for us at the clinic by the time we made it to Nelson. I received a call back from Dr Harts office, 2 hours after my intial phone call and they advised me to call someone else as Dr Hart wasn't responding. I was less then impressed and already at another vet. They did an ultrasound on Charlie and saw several suspected tumors and appeared something internally had ruptured/leaking. They gave him pain meds, us a grim reality and sent us home with a follow up more in depth appointment in the morning. Unfortunately Charlie passed away by my side late that night. Thankfully at home and pain free. The doctor who assisted us that night, called us multiple times to see how we were doing, was waiting for us when I arrived with Charlies remains, assisted with arranging cremation and sent us a card in the mail. Here we are over 3 months later and have never received a follow up call from Dr Harts office. Maybe to check up with how our emergency worked out for us? or why we haven't been in to fill Charlie's prescriptions? The clinic that assisted us that night was surprised that Charlie had never received an ultrasound. He was older and had health issues, one of the things they would have recommended for a new patient, such as Charlie, was an ultrasound. Would have it made a difference? Could we have extended his life if we had caught it 4-6 months earlier? That's something I'll never know, but at the very least could have known his time was coming to an end and have been better prepared. I gave them 3 months to follow up with me and for my emotions to settle before writing this review. Hands down the worst experience I've ever had with a vet. There's lots more in general I could say about our overall experience with Cottonwood Falls Animal Clinic. From the very first appointment I told my girlfriend I didn't have a good feeling there. My biggest regret is not trusting my gut and finding an alternative vet clinic.

Was great to start, helped our dog with an ongoing ear issue. 3 days out from Surgery they called to cancel the surgery and make a appt to see her instead. So having lost a day of work for this surgery. I instead was told there was nothing to do. So we swapped vets. I don't appreciate that kinda courtesy at all. Maybe next time, be more forthcoming and not book a surgery date and then cancel it 3 days out. Since I had to book a day off of work. Cause Ive got $$$ to burn right ?

My dog was limping on her back leg for awhile. Another vet told me I would need a very costly surgery. After talking to a friend she told me Dr. Hart might be able to help Abby without surgery. She diagnosed Abby right away. She said that Abby had a kneecap that was dislocating and then she told me that some laser and a nutritional supplement could cure her. After 2 laser treatments Abby was no longer limping! It was like a miracle. I am so happy she was didn't have to have that surgery. I would recommend this clinic highly!

I just need to shout out Dr.Hart and the staff. Throughout both my cats with health issues they’ve been extremely understanding and go above and beyond to help make the right choices, always listen to my concerns and fears, and love my animals like their own. It has been an extremely long road with my cats, and I am beyond thankful for their compassion and understanding. They make the good news easy, and the bad and hard decisions bearable.

Jessica Henderson

What a wonderful clinic! I brought my dog in for a limp in her front leg that had been seen before by a few vets but never fixed. Dr. Hart was amazing! she was able to get x-rays done right away, get a diagnosis and start treating my dog all in one appointment! The rest of the staff were all very welcoming and kind and my dog actually enjoyed being there, they fed her lots of treats and she was very happy and relaxed the whole time. Within a few days of giving the medicine she was prescribed her limp was gone. I'm so pleased with this clinic, will definitely be making them my regular vet.
