Long time patient, Dr has moved so far across the city, but worth the drive for health needs :)

What do you do when your neurologist needs a written referral from your family doctor (Dr. Arachchi) but you can't get anyone to pick up the damn phone in the office. I don't ask much of my doctor but I should be able to schedule a follow-up appointment/get a referral faxed from her when I'm in an MS flare-up. I have to say I'm very disappointed at the moment.

Zero stars should be an option especially for her. Barely helped me. Told me to get drugs on the street for my pain. Called me a bad person. Told me that it would take MONTHS for her to fax my health records to my new doctor. Her receptionist doesn't speak English well enough to work in public service, let alone a doctor's clinic where clear communication is imperative. GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!

Best Doctor I've ever had. I've been a patient for 10 years, across 3 different offices. Each one a step up in quality. Don't pay attention to these other reviews. If you're looking for a humble, attentive and competent MD I'd definitely pay her a visit. As for appointment delays? Sure it's happened on occasion. If it's a busy day and even a handful of people don't show up on time, that messes up all the subsequent appointments. This is Ontario, remember. At least it's free :) Update: 07/08/2019 Everything in my original review stands, and I've subtracted a star. I've switched doctors. My new one is now the best doctor I've ever had. Dr Arachchi is great. She's a really awesome person, and I always felt like she cared. But I could never seem to get my point across about how bad things were. That's not necessarily her fault. I do tend to have trouble with that. But when I laid it out for the new guy he just got it. I didn't have to explain myself too much. It makes sense. We just have more in common, being that we're same-ish aged white guys. And now the purpose of this review. The final straw, so to speak. I was about to run out of meds. I did plan a couple weeks ahead which always works out fine. This time they just didn't have any appointments that would work. So I called back and said I was going to run out. I asked if the doctor could fax my rx to the pharmacy since she knows me and it's a simple refill of boring stuff. No painkillers or anything. I was told, "no, we don't do that". I was basically like, "uhh, ok. thanks?" and I hung up. The receptionist didn't even try to help me. With my medical issue. At the medical doctor. It was especially frustrating because I knew if I could've talked to the doctor she would've said, "oh sure no problem. see you in 3 months." The point of all that is to say that the receptionist really is terrible, on so many levels. I wouldn't normally review a person, because maybe it's just the two of us that happen to not get along or something. You should give people the benefit of the doubt. But since a lot of other people have said it too, I feel able to confirm it. She's unfriendly, unhelpful, rude and condescending, consistently. And yes, her English is very not good. In and of itself that's fine. I only know one language. They've never been my thing, so I'm always impressed when people know more than one. But it is a doctor's office. I dare to say it's kind of important. So yeah, it really was the receptionist that drove me away. In hindsight I can see that I'm also getting better care now, but I didn't know that at the time. I'd only seen Dr. Craig a couple times at the walk-in. Dr. Arachchi was all I knew. When I think about it though, I should actually be somewhat grateful to that receptionist. If she hadn't been so thoroughly off-putting for such a long time, every time, I wouldn't have mustered up the wherewithal to actually switch doctors. But now I'm really glad I did. So thank you, angry receptionist. In a terrible, roundabout way, despite your best efforts, you've managed to help me find the best care for my situation and my life is better for it!

She is very rude...doesn't respect patients time...She is not good at all!

DO NOT USE THIS DR. And if you are a patient of hers and have been hurt by her or treated poorly, please contact College of Physicians. There is a duty of care Dr's must practice by. Please, if you are a patient of hers, ask to review your medical report. Please make sure everything is correct.

Dr. Sandya is a kind doctor, she genuinely cares about my family and takes the time to get to the bottom of the problem. I have been with her for many years now and would recommend her to anyone

If there is a zero star I would give it to her. She is extremely impolite and disrespectful and make you feel very uncomfortable speaking to her. Not to mention the receptionist is even worse. Their appointments are the most inaccurate thing, expect to wait at least an hour after your appt. I honestly dont know how a doctor treats their patients with this manner, where is the doctor-patient relationship where is the good work ethics. I was describing to her my case and she interrupted me saying : "speak like an educated person" with a joke. I got very offended by this, who does she think she is?? addressing her patients in this offensive manner?? Just because she is a "doctor" doesnt make anyone else less than her and does not mean we all have to be familiar with medical terms. She always treats her patients less than her and this manner is very offending. I hope this review helps you save time, effort and headache from trying to know if going to her is worth it.

Appointment at 11:15 am and finally saw the doctor at 12:55 pm for a 2 min. This is a repeated incident when I have to wait over an hour for an appointment of less than five minutes.

Vicki Parsons

Horrible. Dr let her husband yell at me and refused to help me in a time of need. I was in two casts from a tumble down some stairs, one foot and ankle broken, and she told me, "It shouldn't hurt that much." And then decided to berate me and decline my pain management after years, in front of other patients. She basically, for no reason, treated me like a drug addict, because I dared to hurt myself. No compassion and horrible staff. I'd give zero stars if I could.

Munira Sultana

She is my family physician for almost 7 years. She is very attentive, thorough, and non judgmental to her patients. I believe she is an excellent family physician.

Laurie Butterworth

Worst wait times. Front admin staff is terrible, rude, and cannot book appointments appropriately. Dr. Arachchi is amazing. However having to wait over an hour for my BOOKED appointment is ridiculous!

Amanda Avery

I used to love going to her and my 2 children but she refused my husband and other 2 children. I have severe anxiety to the point i have issues leaving my house. I tried to make an appointment today as I have been having heart issues added as well and told I would have to wait a month before being seen. Its doctors doing this that causes er rooms to be so backed up. I now also have to my kids vaccinated at the health unit because i missed his apt and never got a reminder which I require due to my anxiety but now refuses to reschedule his vaccine. Most doctors confirm apts ..I will be transferring my family away from her practice. Her receptionist needs to be replaced and has been for some time now as she doesn't care about patients or know what empathy is. And no its no better when her spouse is there either.

Joshua Millar

Receptionist is incompetent and slow, not once have we waited less than 30 minutes past our appointment time just to be seen, and she is condescending and hard to understand. My wife had her last appointment at 8 this morning and nobody even showed up until 8:15 (she had to wait in the pharmacy next door) when they finally got in my wife wasn't the only one with an 8 o'clock appointment didn't get seen by the doctor until after 9. All around terrible service and no respect for other's time or needs.

Pam H

She is an amazing doc. She is always genuinely interested in my concerns and has a very soft, comforting nature. I would recommend her to anyone and completely trust mine and my families health in her hands.

Mandy Jeffery

Dr. Arachchi is a caring, empathetic, thorough physician. Before she relocated you NEVER had to wait for appointments! There has been a few hiccups with wait time and appointment availability since she has changed locations but she is still a great physician and I believe these issues will be ironed out over time. At that time I would give here a 5/5!

Anita Pham

Appointment was at 10am. Right now it is 10:48am. Came at 9:45am. That’s over an hour wait with coming early. If we as a patient did that to the doctor, we get charged for a late fee or a missed appointment. I understand totally if it’s a 15-30 minute wait. But common, respect your patient’s time - anyone know a family doctor in London accepting new patients? Because this is not the first time and it def will not be the last time. My level of “patience” is always tested over and over at this clinic with a no good receptionist
