I was impressed with the smoothness of operations in the office as well as how flawlessly the staff switched between English and French depending on the patient’s language preference. I was nervous for my procedure but the surgeon talked me through each step, telling me weather I needed to make an adjustment to where I was looking or the placement of my head. I've got family members who have had LASIK, but the thought of having lasers mess around with your eyes is still a little bit disconcerting even when you know how safe the procedure is and how good the outcome will be. So it's a good thing that every person I dealt with at LASIK MD was not just friendly but were up-front about the benefits and potential risks, as well as patient in explaining everything every step of the way. The surgery itself was quick and painless and I walked out the door immediately after under my own steam, even if things were still a bit blurry. It's been less than 36 hours since my surgery and while there was some initial discomfort, and my eyes are definitely still in the healing process, I'm walking around right now with what I'm told is better than 20/20 vision. That's a heck of a turnaround from needing glasses for anything other than reading. So definitely give them a shout if you're looking at ditching your glasses/contacts. I can't say I would've been in better hands anywhere else.

I have to say that 6 days out from my procedure, I am so happy with my results. I have been consulting with a LASIK provide near me since April and kept getting rescheduled to meet a surgeon. I already had two in person visits, and still had no date for surgery. So I called LASIK MD. They accepted my medical records ahead of time. I walked into my first in person appointment with LASIK MD and left having my eyes corrected. It was a comfortable experience. I was confident in my care providers. It was a very good experience and now I have better than perfect eyesight.

J’ai été réorienté vers cette clinique de Laurier par la clinique de Lebourgneuf pour mon suivi, suite à une suspicion d’infection qui se serait déclarée après l’intervention de retouche à l’œil gauche. Un changement au traitement post-opératoire m’a donc été donné par l’infirmer après réouverture du volet de l’œil gauche et nettoyage par un médecin. Mais cette nouvelle posologie concernait l’œil droit. Après demande de vérification à ma demande, l’infirmier a confirmé l’erreur et m’a demandé d’augmenter la cortisone de mon œil gauche, au lieu d’augmenter mes antibiotiques. Il m’a aussi parlé de continuer le traitement à mon autre œil, qui n’avait pas été opéré cette fois-ci ! J’ai demandé de vérifier à nouveau, l’infirmier et revenu avec une nouvelle posologie, cette fois-ci correcte. Le lendemain, on m’a confirmé qu’il s’agissait certainement d’une infection au staphylocoque, on m’a réouvert le volet et injecté des antibiotiques dans l’œil. Le problème s’est résorbé. Mais pour un de mes rendez-vous de suivi ultérieur (qui a infirmé qu’il s’agissait d’une infection, pour conclure finalement à une inflammation), le secrétariat de cette même clinique a oublié de m’appeler pour préciser l’heure de mon rendez-vous. En bref, la clinique de Laurier est une usine surchargée et mal organisée.

My review isn't oriented towards getting a procedure done, but rather the screening process / consultation prior to knowing whether you're a good candidate to get the procedure. The point of writing this isn't to come across as negative, but rather make you aware of some improvements which to me would help improve this experience much more. First, overall experience is very comforting, staff is fantastic and knowledgeable. Waiting area is very nice. I had my first consultation back in Nov, when I booked online at the time, I'm not sure if there was any fine print indicating this consultation would take better part of 2 hours and you'd need someone there with you should they administer drops that could prevent you from driving after the fact, and maybe I missed it, but anyhow, had I known I would have prepared accordingly. Needless to say I had to go back for second consult in order to further explore my eyes and also speak with the Doctor to determine whether I'd be eligible. My second appointment was scheduled for 2pm this week, so got there at 1:30, had to go through a couple of steps prior to seeing the Doctor which might have taken 20 min total. At 4:30 (3 hours later), I was still waiting to see the Doctor and asked reception how much longer I had to wait. I finally managed to see the Dr. which took about 10 min to assess whether or not I was eligible. I realize this is a private business and that maybe the goal is to bring as many people in as possible, but the logistics involved behind scheduling people to get this procedure could be improved DRAMATICALLY. Having to wait 3 hours for a 10 min consult when you're willing to drop a few thousand dollars on a procedure doesn't inspire much in the way of confidence and reassurance. Don't get me wrong, your coffee and cookies are great, but my wife and I had to book time off from work and literally lost our entire afternoon just sitting there waiting. If this were publicly funded hospital, COMPLETELY understandable, but these are potential paying clients. I realize this is a thorough screening process, but having spent over 5 hours here where the total amount of time needed for tests and such was less than 1 hour somehow resonates a bit. It's unfortunate because everything else in terms of the experience is very comforting.

I've worn glasses for over 20 years. I'm only a few weeks post surgery but I can say that Lasik is a life changing experience. Initial consultation was free and easy, they do a full eye test and explain your options and pricing. I booked my surgery date during the consultation. Surgery day was smooth, they do some more tests and you get ready for surgery. My surgeon was great, explained what was going to happen and talked me through it as it was happening. Surgery itself was smooth, you don't feel any pain, just some pressure around the eye. It is a weird experience but not painful. Was done both eyes within minutes. Right after surgery I felt nauseous (I was overheated from the bright lights and breathing through a mask), and the surgeon and assistants were all great and helped me feel better very quick. Within hours my left eye was perfect. My right eye was perfect as well but had a slight haze to it. During the follow-up 24 hours later, they checked both eyes and saw I had some swelling still in the right eye. Drop schedule was altered to more drops and I was on my way with 20/15 vision in both eyes. I followed the drop schedule and within a few days the right eye cleared and both became perfect. Light sensitivity gets better day by day but wasn't overwhelming. I have done my 1 week follow up call and everything is going great. We did a phone check up since it's the pandemic, but I could have gone in sooner if I had any issues. They have futher checkups scheduled to follow my progress. I would recommend Lasik to anyone who wears glasses. I had wanted it for quite some time but never had the funds to do so. Now I am wishing I had found a way to do it years ago. Not having to wear glasses is a blessing. The team at Lasik was great. Everyone was friendly and professional. They are also handling covid very well, everyone is assigned a seperate seat and they are constantly cleaning seats and surfaces.

I had surgery on May 28th and I am going to give a run-down of how amazing they handled everything during this Covid pandemic. Before even going, they ask that you wear a mask or they will provide one. First, the door was locked and I had to wait to be let in - this meant I was not touching any handles and I knew extra people without appointments wouldn't be able to enter. Next, I had to sanitize my hands and answer health questions while they went through a checklist and checked my temperature to confirm. Then they handed me a number that was correlated to the seat I would be using. There were very few seats available and they were all spaced out well. The best part about the numbers is there was no cross-contamination of any sort and more than enough distance from others that I really felt safe. Everyone there was wearing masks and sanitizing everything between each person. I had to sanitize multiple times just to be safe! When finished with my pre-op stuff, they got me to leave my number flipped over on the seat to show I was done with it so someone could sanitize it for the next person. Finally, I went through surgery! I assume it was like it usually is, but with extra sanitizing. The clinic is SO well prepared that I felt 110% at ease while there. Three days post-op and I couldn't be happier with my results! So glad I didn't wait longer for this. Highly recommend, even in the pandemic!

Amazing experience! Staff were extremely informative and clearly cared about your feelings. And during this COVID crisis they were very concerned about safety and cleanliness. Rooms were being cleaned before and after patients entered/exited. All in all an experience I would recommend to anyone who’s been considering it!
