Overall a great experience. The building is new, well designed, clean and spacious. Staff met to check you in, and do a health check. From there I registered and was directed to the particular doctors wait room. I was then called in at exactly my appointment time. I did wait a few moments before the doctor arrived but he apologized and it sounded as if It were unusual. I was assessed and treated in the first appointment and had further appointments scheduled. If only all aspects of health care ran this Smoothly.
Great People
Called to ask a few questions They answered and immediately put me on hold. I sat on hold for 13 minutes.. then the call started ringing it had been directed to an extension that didnt exist, and the call hung up on me. I called back and she answered the same way "please hold" Really??? Awful
KOPI's clinic provides a comprehensive set of services for pain management and treatment of concussion. They work seamlessly with other providers in the region and with provincial insurance coverage. The staff in their busy clinic are always friendly and professional. They are among the best doctors I have found in Canada and the United States.
The Centre staff are professional and caring right from the reception to the staff that work with Dr. Kahn. He has been able to reduce the pain I experience daily and for that I am grateful. He is professional and takes time to explain procedures and also considers my input seriously.
If you encounter a problem or an adverse reaction to prescribed medication and telephone for assistance the phone is NEVER answered & leaving a message is a futile exercise because your calls are NOT returned.
helps with pain
While the doctor has done phenomenal work, his assistant has made booking a properly timed follow up impossible. I attempted to update my phone number on multiple occasions, in person, by phone, voicemails and nearly three months later I'm still not hearing about my appointments. Minutes after my last procedure I walked up to reception to book an appointment and was refused the ability to do it in person and was told I would be contacted with an appointment. Over a dozen voicemails and three months later I was finally given an appointment, over a month past when my next procedure was supposed to be done. I'm not sure how it is fair for a pain clinic to let their patient suffer because of the doctors "assistants" negligence of their duties.
So I’ve had what I’ve been told is a trapped nerve in either my shoulder or neck for about 5 years now, causes a lot of pain and discomfort when it gets going. Been to 4 physio clinics over the years with little success as to helping the pain. Went to see Dr. O’Connor with high hopes of possibly finding something to help only for him to not only not even examine me or feel around the area at all! But to just sit in the chair and say that I was lying and that the pain was all in my head, he told me that in 3 months I could come back for a freezing if I wanted after I waste away all my money at these physio places. I will never forget that. I’m writing this review 3 months afterward with those words still engrained in my head and the pain still nagging away at me. Completely disappointed in the lack of compassion and quality of care from this establishment. 10/10 would recommend to stay away unless you wanna be told your crazy and nothing wrong with you
I go here out of nesesity and can say this place rocks.
Recently had PRP Therapy ! fantastic experience ! from the initial consult with Jenn Bunn to the actual procedure with Dr. Joe Quigg it was as expected...excellent ! I was informed step by step as the procedure was performed without any pain ! Thank You to the KOPI Team ! looking forward to a full recovery. Billy Fellows
Today was my first procedure at Kopi I had the lumbar medial branch block procedure and I will say it's not the most comfortable thing in the world but after suffering back pain for 10 years it's well worth it and Dr Shyam was absolutely amazing I actually felt a little bad for him as I have a low pain tolerance and he kept apologizing too me but he is very kind and compassionate
KOPI has been very helpful with the healing of an injury to my knee. Sports medicine Dr O'Connor took the time to really listen to me and find out what was wrong. Kate Atwood is an amazing physiotherapist.
Most of the staff is very friendly. My Doctor has been committed since day one to finding an effective pain treatment plan for me that works.
I have only positive things to say about the team at KOPI. The doctors, assistants and office staff are professional and caring. The treatments are not fun but the staff make it more bearable.
Dr Smith gave me my life back, I had steamcell treatment for my hip. My quality of life is back. I don't have good enough words for all the staff. They make miracles.
Very nice staff however not happy with my go to person. She never gets back to me as her answering machine states 48 hrs. Still waiting a month later.
Completely professional . Have help reduce my pain to the point I Have returned to work
Not worth the wait to see the doctors here. I would rather drive to either Toronto or Ottawa to be a patient at a better facility. These doctors are condescending and told me to keep trying the same things I've been doing the last two years to help my chronic pain. They were not willing to schedule a follow up. In addition, there was pee spilled all over the area where patients put their urine samples. When I told an employee, she brushed it off.
I had stem cell therapy done on my hip. Dr. Quigg was informative, caring and sensitive to my pain situation. I have never felt better after my treatment. I was told by Mount Sinai Hospital that I would be in need of a hip replacement and that they would not book a follow up appointment with me. I was told to call them when my daily life becomes unbearable. Inflammatory medication did not help. I was taking 2 to 6 Tylenol a day to help me get through my day of activities. I have not taken a Tylenol since my stem cell treatment! I am not walking with a limp! Within six weeks of treatment, I was able to walk with some speed. Thank you KOPI and Dr. Quigg for helping me to get back to my regular daily activities. The stem cell treatment changed my life. I feel like myself again.
After years of chronic pain I eagerly waited a very long time to finally get in with a doctor at KOPI. I finally got an appointment and was excited and nervous at what I considered my last chance at a new idea for recovery. To my dismay, the experience could not have disappointed me more. I met with someone named Dr. Meredith and he was plain cold. After his maybe 6 minute assessment and discussion with me, he recommended something I have been trying for years without success. That was the end of it. No recommendation on a certain practitioner for treatment, and not even a follow-up appointment. It is upsetting to wait so long for an institute that claims to be the best, yet having to walk out of there feeling way worse than when I walked in. If you are looking for a pain clinic, do NOT waste your time with this one, or at least this particular doctor. Also, note that it is mandatory to provide a urine sample on the first visit, which is just uncomfortable and unexpected. Wish they could have told me a couple of days in advance.
Definitely my worse experience ever there (Dr. Yach). So unprofessional and careless that whenever I came back to my place I probably cried for an hour because I couldn't believe no one could help me with the kind of pain I'm dealing with. He obviously doesn't have any clue on how his patients feels nor what kind of life they have to live with such conditions. Couldn't be more disappointed and discouraged now.
What a waste of my time. Why be a doctor if you cannot be compassionate. Just quit. Made me feel like a bad penny, just pass me around back to my Doctor. Not willing or able to try to help a patient at all. Every visit was a total waste. If you are retired from you day job, that is being a Doctor, stay retired. KOPI seems to be a place for washed up and retired no good Doctors. Takes forever to get it, and then they cannot do anyway. Waste of taxpayers money. This is a business they are running so they can keep billing Patients and OHIP and keep making money. KOPI is an epiphany on those olden days snake oil Doctors found on every corners .what a SCAM they are running here.
100% improvement without surgery on my shoulder. Has been a great experience everyone has been great. Thank you
I have taken my friend to KOPI for 2 visits so far. The staff and Drs have been beyond amazing with us! What great service and so friendly. She has had steroids injection in her back and within 24 hours on an pain level that was 10 plus is today a 6! She has been putting up with this for over 10 years now. What a great place and so accommodating as we are from out of the area. Thanks to all involved!
Very Professional. Very Caring. Very much in tune with understanding the discomfort you are in and making it their goal to make you feel better. I am very impressed so far with my treatment. A VAST improvement from the daily agony I was going through. I my case- my pain is now mostly (if not ALL) GONE and that's after a decade of misery and seeking out specialists/physio/chiro, etc. I feel lucky to have been finally referred to KOPI and being specifically under the great care of Drs. Yach and Dr.Zamura. These are only two of the many great professionals at KOPI.
Today went to see DR Meredith and his assistant. we first started with his assistant what a wonderful person..did an exam on husband..made him feel comfortable...which I appreciated since we came from Ottawa and hubby suffers from cronic pain. DR Meredith came and gave his opinion on the situation. Dr Meredith is a great Dr who takes his time to explain confirms with you that you understood clearly. Thank you Dr see you soon and what a great experience...even if the outcome is not what you want to hear...they sure feel for you and want to do their best at giving some releif. Thank you.
I waited FOREVER to get an appointment at KOPI. When I finally did, I was just extremely disappointed with my visit. If you can’t be compassionate to others, you really have no business working in health care, and much less so in chronic pain. I will not be coming back!!
Many drs here I see roughly 4 .. but my main dr is AMAZING
I have been treated by Dr Shyam for two years now. He is a wonderful doctor, with so much compassion and a very 'caring' side. I'm treated from my waistline to my ear, for both lumbar and neck issues. Some procedures offer minimul help, while others offer a 'pain free vacation, lasting from days to weeks. Dr. Shyam and all of his staff are absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much. Mark Shackles
Dr. Kalyniuk is the most professional and kind doctor I have ever had. She not only saved me from having neck pain but her kindness and caring personality makes me smile every time I attend my appointment. Thank you DR.K
The pain management care and support provided by medical specialists at KOPI is first-rate.
Don't see Dr. Joel Meredith if you can help it :(
Wife has arthritis, they look after her well.
Clinic assistant Michelle is one of the most uncompassionate people I’ve met that works in health care not to mention a chronic pain clinic. Most people dealing with long term chronic pain have a lot of really bad days and they certainly didn’t ask to be trying to live with chronic pain! To not return calls, to just plain forget to call in refills and have nothing to say but did I forget to do that is unacceptable!! At least pretend you care even if you don’t. She’s obviously never suffered chronic pain or the complications of not having pain meds when you need them!! If you’re too busy to return calls in a timely manner and don’t have time to do your refills get some help! If you don’t like dealing with people in pain get another job!! The only thing worse than her is the egotistical, arrogant control freak she works with Murphy!!!
Friendly staff, fantastic Doctor's, you are made right at home as soon as you walk in.
