I did my eye laser surgery two months ago. I was afraid in the begining. They did the eye examination and the measuerment twice to make sure its 100% accurate. They did spend a lot of time with me explaining all the steps and any possible complications. The procedure took less than 5 minutes with No cut and no pain. The first two days were hard because of the contact lens and they remove them in one week. I had eye drops for one month. My vision is great and I dont need glasses anymore. Its worth it. Great staff and state of the art center. Winnipegian you are lucky:)

My experience at Aqua I laser clinic was very positive. I had poor vision that led to chronic use of eyeglasses and contant lenses for many years. I wanted to be free of my glasses and this became true after I have had a new procedure (PRK )done by Dr.Gdih at Aqua I Laser. Every aspect of the experience was better than my expectations .Starting from the welcoming frireceptionist and nurse ending with having the surgery done for both eyes within minutes ,no cuts no pain. Dr.Gdih is very professional and dose his best to explain in detailed yet simple way about your eyes' conditions and about the procedure. I definitely recommend this clinic for everyone who wants to be between safe and caring hands while having their vision corrected.

I cannot say enough great things about Aqua i Laser. Dr.Gdih was absolutely wonderful and the staff at Aqua Laser were so kind and wonderful. I went in for a consult for refractive lens exchange surgery and from the moment I had my consult to having the surgery to the last appointment, everything was great. If you are considering refractive lens exchange surgery, I highly recommend that you talk to the staff/doctors at Aqua Laser. They were so informative and explained everything so clearly to me. All the information they gave me helped me make the decision to have the surgery. The were not pushy and really encouraged me to take the time, think things over, and make an informed decision or whether or not I should go ahead get this surgery. Each appointment I had, I felt that they made me feel important. They never rushed me and took the time to answer all of my questions. I am 45 years old and have worn glasses since the age of 5 and then glasses and contacts from grade 9 til just recently. I have always had terrible eyesight and having refractive lens exchange surgery has been life changing for me. If you are nervous about this surgery that is normal but I am now seeing better than 20/20, I can't thank the staff and Dr.Gdih for all they have done for me. They made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole process. The surgery was very quick and I felt relaxed and at ease during it. As soon as my surgery was done (15-20 min) I could see - I didn't have any pain. My eye glasses prescription was so bad that I wasn't even a candidate for laser surgery. Now wake up in the middle of the night and can see :) I wish I would have done this years ago, not having to wear contacts or glasses anymore has been a freedom I cannot explain. I am so grateful to Dr.Gdih and the wonderful staff at Aqua Laser, if you are considering refractive lens exchange surgery, these individuals will take great care of you.

Life's good.. My eyes are good.. Dr.Gdih is good!!! (His staff pretty awesome too) No worrying about my eye flap opening in an accident.. No worrying about dropping a damn contact.. No more looking for my glasses!!! Aqua I Laser- I highly recommened it; 4 hrs of pain right after surgery but an eye sight I haven't had since I was a kid.. Two months ago I had my laser eye surgery done by Dr. Gdih at Aqua i Laser and the impact of being glasses free has been incredibly amazing. From start to finish it has been a positive experience. I met Dr. Gdih to see if I was a good candidate for the procedure and he approved me to safely proceed with the surgery. Everything was clearly explained to me about what I should expect during the surgery as well as what recovery would be like. To be honest I was feeling nervous just before surgery but when I got into the laser suite and was greeted by Dr. Gdih and his assistant I felt a wave of calm wash over me as every part of the procedure was explained as we went along. During surgery Dr. Gdih was very reassuring and his assistant would let me know how much time was left on the clock for my treatment (both of my eyes were under 40 seconds of treatment each) and I experienced no pain! After the surgery Dr. Gdih asked me to put my old glasses back on and immediately there was a huge difference. As I was expecting, recovery wasn't as easy as the surgery; I was very light sensitive and my eyes felt quite painful for the first 48 hours but it was well worth it!! He has followed up with me many times to make sure I'm happy with my vision and to answer any questions that I've had. I would highly recommend making a free consultation with Dr. Gdih and his friendly staff if you want to have the best laser surgery experience possible!! Thank you Dr. Gdih and the Aqua staff!!

Ten years ago I had Lasik Surgery and was very thrilled to have my sight restored and say farewell to my glasses. Fast forward one decade and now there are newer, safer methods available. My daughter recently underwent vision correction at Aqua i Laser by Dr. Gdih. This a no touch, no flap, painless procedure which only takes 1-2 minutes. I accompanied her throughout the consultation, procedure and follow up appointments. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism of the entire staff. Dr. Gdih has a gentle demeanour and is very passionate about his profession. If you are considering laser eye surgery, this is the state of the art clinic to visit. I went here for intraocular lens replacement surgery. Not even knowing this was a thing outside of cataract surgery, I found that this is the only place in the city that does it. Dr. Gdih was courteous, talented (the surgery and recovery was quick) and took interest in my extremely terrible eyesight (I had glasses with a-18.00 prescription and non-dilating pupils). Now I have 20/20 vision and my quality of life has improved dramatically. After years of having other doctors shrug their shoulders at my situation, it was a huge relief to find someone who took an interest in my eye condition! The staff at Aqua was excellent as well, very helpful and accommodating. Checkups never took more than half an hour from stepping in the door. Would highly recommend him and this office for any eye surgery or procedure they offer.

For long time I was struggling with my glasses and was looking for any way to take glasses off, I have heard good comments about laser surgery from friends who did have laser surgery and how that affect their quality of life after, Bcs I did hate my glasses I went to see Dr. Gdih regarding laser surgery, he did explain to me in details the procedure and side effects happen in 1st few days post surgery as well few weeks post surgery, I did my laser surgery and went home immediately, my home few hours away from Winnipeg, all things happen after surgery exactly like what Dr. Gdih explain to me, being like text book explanations I was expecting things before it happen over few weeks post surgery, Dr. Gdih did cover post surgical side effects and how I can overcome those. I can not express enough how strong I will recommend Dr. Gdih for this kind of procedure and I am sure he is strongly competent in other procedures. After laser surgery things are changed to a better way and glasses are kind of unpleasant remote memory. The staff at Aqua I Laser were amazing, you can feel the good atmosphere the moment you enter the door, they are so nice in their attitude and communications.

I came to Winnipeg from Denmark to have Dr. Gdih perform my aqua laser eye surgery. The whole team at Aqua i Laser were very friendly and informative which made the process feel so comfortable and professional. When meeting with Dr. Gdih I was able to get all my questions answered and the process of the procedure was completely as described. I was on a busy schedule while in Winnipeg so I was hesitant about the recovery time as I had appointments and functions that I had to attend. Dr. Gdih was patient and assured me that I would be recovered to meet my schedule. During the procedure I felt very comfortable as Dr. Gdih was informing me what was occurring so I felt relaxed and the process was very quick with both my eyes being completed in less than a minute. Immediately after the surgery I was able to walk to the vehicle that was picking me up. For the next two and a half days I had some irritation in my eyes, they felt very dry and itchy. Also had a head pain and I was very sensitive to light. The first full day after the surgery I spent mostly sleeping or resting on the couch with my eyes closed. There was definitely discomfort in the immediate days after the surgery but no extreme pain that was making the process unbearable. By the 4th day after my surgery, I was fully functional and carrying on with all my daily activities. I had to wear my sunglasses when outside but I was able to meet with friends, shop and go out for dinner. On the 5th day post surgery I was able to attend a wedding with no issues and most people were amazed that I had a laser eye procedure so recently, because I was pain free. I would strongly recommend Dr. Gdih and the Aqua i Laser procedure. This procedure has freed me from glasses and contacts for good and was done by a very skilled and outgoing individual in Dr. Gdih. Both Dr. Gdih and his staff are top tier and they made the whole process seamless and amazing. They treated me like I was their family member so the whole process felt safe and I understood what was happening. I am very grateful to Dr. Gdih and his staff for the amazing job they have done with my eyes and would definitely recommend this to anyone thinking about this procedure, no matter where you live, it is worth it!

I was referred to Aqua i Laser by my optometrist because I had been refused treatment at another clinic due to corneal irregularities. Dr. Gdih is an amazing doctor. After a thorough examination, he presented my options and gave his recommendations with a full explanation of everything. I opted for Refractive Lens Exchange. The procedure was quick and painless. Best decision I've ever made. No cutting, no pain, unbelievable. Having had glasses since I was 10 and not having glasses anymore still feels like a dream. Going in for a consult was smooth and easy. Was nervous about the surgery, and in 5 minutes it was over, no pain at all. The next few days were a bit rough putting in drops and bright lights, but with some sunglasses your fine. Vision does fluctuate blurry to clear but you can still see just fine. 6 weeks after my surgery and I'm still blown away daily with how clear I can see it's truly amazing considering there was 0 pain. Worse part of the whole thing was on days 3-5 where it felt like lashes in the eyes but the drops take care of that and the fml drop oh boy do they suck( you can taste the drops) but considering I went from a -5.0 to 20/20 it was well worth it. From the surgery, to the staff, to dr.gidh everything/ everyone is so pleasant they make you feel like friends and family. If your even debating it it's a must do!!

I had my eye surgery just under a year ago. Full disclosure, Dr. Gdih is a personal friend. Because of this potential conflict of interest, I hesitated to write this review but I am truly impressed and happy with the procedure that I decided it only fair to write this. I am a physician and during my job I rely on my vision to interpret diagnostic imaging and treat patients accordingly. I had managed for years with glasses but have contemplated corrective eye surgery for a while. I was concerned about Lasik and the increased eye dryness common after such procedure as I already had issues with this. Lasik requires a partial cut in the cornea to create a flap, this causes corneal denervation decreasing tear production. Theoretically this is less of an issue with the technology used by Aqua Laser as there is no cutting occurring. Dr. Gdih and his clinical staff are extremely professional and proficient. On my first meeting with Dr. Gdih he reassured me about the risks and explained the procedure and follow up in full detail. Throughout the process I was always aware of what would happen next and my expectations were met. The day of the procedure went smoothly, the procedure itself lasted seconds! I was forewarned about significant burning the night of the procedure and boy they were not kidding. The next morning things were better and my vision had improved significantly. By day five I was able to drive and by day 9 I was back to work treating patients. My vision now is perfect and my eye dryness is no worse than before. Glasses are now a distant memory. I truly have no regrets doing this surgery and would recommend it to anyone.

I got PKR with Dr Gdih a year ago today. I have to say it was the best decision I have ever made. I spent years prior worrying about the outcome, but after meeting with Dr Gdih for a consult, I was able to see perfectly without glasses within the week. I had such a wonderful experience at Aqua i Laser! I felt very comfortable throughout the entire process. Dr. Gdih & staff are just amazing! Dr. Gdih is so patient and kind with a calming presence that made me feel like I was taken care of the entire time. Dr. Mahon was also so great and took the time to answer all my questions and it helped me so much to hear her experiences about the procedure as well. I had a high near-sighted prescription of around -8.00 and am now seeing 20/15 with both eyes together after 1 month! The procedure took only ~75 secs per eye and I was already seeing better after it was done. The first few days were painful and uncomfortable but it was short lived. I am so amazed at how great my vision is now and not having to worry about glasses or contact lenses has been a dream. The only things I have noticed is that my dry eye fluctuates more and I have to put in artificial tears more often as well as being more light sensitive but I am hopeful that this will continue to improve. Waited for 1 year post op to review my laser eye surgery experience. -3.5 in both eyes with stigmatism. I’ve worn glasses for 23 years. First off all the staff are beauties! Dr. Gdih & Dr. Mahon are the best at what they do. I have 20/15 vision one year later and it’s like I never wore glasses. Maybe I’m lucky but I have no dry eyes, halos or any of the possible side effects. Going from wearing contacts everyday and having the film on them that gave me blurry vision and going to perfect vision is a dream come true, I often forget I even used to have wear glasses. The few days after surgery were painful, recovery is longer than other laser eye options and it hurt to open my eyes, but with the results I’ve had it was worth it.

1 Year Post-Op Review: Dr. Gdih performed TransPRK surgery on me in 2018 with great success, correcting nearsightedness to 20/20. I did NOT experience any pain or serious complications during recovery period. However, I must note that I temporarily struggled with farsightedness for up to 4 weeks post-operative making it difficult to read computer monitors affecting my ability to immediately return to work. I strongly believe TransPRK Laser Eye surgery is by far the most advanced and safest technology currently available. I have no flaps to be concerned of from a Lasik type surgery, nor did I experience severe pain that others do from a PRK type surgery. Dr. Gdih and the staff at Aqua i Laser are friendly and professional. I’m very satisfied with Dr. Gdih and highly recommend him!

I had a wonderful experience from start to finish with my surgery. I went for a consult and within a week I was having my surgery. The surgery itself was painless and immediately after I could see a huge difference in my vision. I recommend a black out room for the first few days, plus be on time with your drops, but otherwise, everything went smoothly. It's been almost a year since my surgery, my vision is perfect and I'd definitely recommend anyone wanting to get this done to see him.

I had such a wonderful experience at Aqua i Laser! Dr. Gdih, Dr. Mahon and Jonathan are amazing, professional and courteous individuals. I researched and had consultations with several companies before choosing Aqua i Laser to perform my eye surgery. I was nervous about the procedure, but after my first appointment, I was excited to go ahead with it. I had a prescription of -6.50 with astigmatism and now I have 20/15 vision (6 months post-op). MY EXPERIENCE: The procedure itself only took a few minutes and I was able to see right away! The first few days after surgery were uncomfortable (dry, itchy eyes and sensitive to light) but not painful. A week and a half after surgery, I was able to drive again but only during daylight hours. [I struggled with halos appearing when driving at night due to the bright lights of oncoming traffic.] Two weeks after surgery, I was able to read computer monitors without having to use reading glasses but my vision was still fluctuating. Four weeks after surgery, I was able to drive safely at night. Seven weeks after surgery, my vision was crystal clear! I can’t believe how great my vision is now and the freedom from glasses and contact lenses is a dream come true! My experience with Dr. Gdih has been exceptional. I was highly myopic (-15 both eyes with astigmatism) and was finding that my soft contact lenses were become increasingly problematic due to age and dry eyes. I had great vision with my contacts, and could not imagine wearing glasses again after 35 years of wearing contacts. I had to do something. My optometrist, Dr. Phipps at Prairie Eye Care, did some research and referred me to Aqua I Laser in the spring. They ran a full battery of tests and Dr. Gdih determined that I was not eligible for laser surgery, but would be eligible for refractive lens exchange (RLE) (essentially cataract surgery, but not for that purpose). I was somewhat familiar with the procedure for cataract surgery, as my mother had had her eyes done within the last few years. It seemed like a relatively safe and simple procedure. Dr. Gdih advised that he would perform RLE on both eyes at the same time, which simplified things for me significantly. I chose to have the surgery performed at Western Surgery Centre – I did not have to change out of my clothes, they put cloths over my shoulders, gave me warm blankets and administered eye drops and an anesthetic to “take the edge off”. I arrived at the clinic at 2 p.m. and was out by 4 p.m. The procedure itself was approximately eight minutes per eye. My surgery went perfectly. I could see as soon as the surgery was finished. I saw Dr. Gdih the next day and have 20/20 vision in each eye. Amazing! The process of appointments both pre-and-post surgery was smooth. Virtually no waiting for appointments when the procedure is performed in the private stream. Dr. Gdih was very clear in his presentation of the risks and benefits of the procedure. He has an excellent communication style and never seemed rushed. He answered all of my questions and always asked if there were more questions. I never, ever felt like I was being “sold” or pushed in any way. I could not be happier with the outcome.

I was referred to aqua i laser by my optometrist to see if eligible for laser surgery. I have worn glasses or contacts for over 35 years. The assessment was very through and found out I was not able to have laser but was eligible for refractive lens exchange. Dr. Gdih was very through and let me know all my options. I choose to go through with the surgery. I was highly myopic in both eyes (-13, -15) and after going through surgery I now have 20/20 vision and only need reading glasses. The surgery was painless and hardly took any time at all - about 10 minutes per eye and I was in and out within 1 1/2 hours and could see perfectly! I was extremely impressed with the follow up service from Dr, Gdih and his staff. I would highly recommend this.
