Elderly lady slammed the door in my face when I tried asking her for help ???? so rude. And they don't take patients that show up first? You have to call to make an appointment even if you were the first one to show up? I almost had my Karen moment here people.

Needed some forms filled out and were told they would be 100$ and then after getting them filled out they double it and charged me 200$. Had no choice but to pay otherwise they wouldn’t give me the papers back. Don’t go to this medical clinic. Awful staff, awful experience, stay away.

In October 2017 I ran my left hand through the table saw and cut off part of my thumb. Ouch, that really hurt!! To be honest, I have no recollection of how polite the receptionist was. What I do recall is standing there, blood running down my arm and onto their clean floor (sorry). I assumed she cleaned it all up after I left (sorry again). The doctor was ex-military (like myself) and had served in Bosnia. He had previous experience with these types of injuries and possessed a good sense of humour. He had no problems removing my duct tape bandage and sewing my partially detached appendage back together. Best of all, my thumb still works although my career as a hand model is now over.

They are rude, and they don't respect the scheduled working hours, I came with my 1y old boy, I we arrived around 30 minutes before the closing time, and they just said that they are done for the day, I am new in this city so I asked if they know where I could go, they just said: I don't know.

Had a call with a female dr with an accent. Not even sure of her name, she didn’t even introduce herself. Was insanely rude, I was asking how to go about some testing with bloodwork and such, and she was quick to cut me off and tell me thats not how it’s done. So I let her know that she was the dr in this situation. Without asking any questions she told me that my issue couldn’t be solved with such and such, which i responded with that is exactly my case. I can’t imagine being a younger girl looking for help with some more sensitive topics and this lady answering the phone. I would be crying, I would be mortified. This doctor is awful.

I had been going there for years but the last four times I attempted to enter the place was closed. I was there 15 minutes before five. Two days earlier I was there at 5:20. Six is the stated closing time. I just needed a prescription refill. Another angry customer was there with me. I looked online to check the hours. Change your stated hours if that is not accurate so people aren't rushing there from work thinking they are going to get service. I find this infuriating.

I have been going to Lakeshore Medical Clinic for about 2 years now and I have never had a bad experience with the reception staff. In my experience the reception staff are polite and prompt (which is highly necessary especially seeing as how many people go to this clinic on a daily basis) and the doctors are understanding, compassionate and easy to talk to. Overall the clinic is very popular, so you may be in for a bit of a wait to see a doctor, but in my option it's worth the wait. Also just a tip: maybe shoot a smile in the receptionists direction while your there, it might just make their day :)

Reception is pleasant. Wait times are appallinly long, what's worse, they don't care. The Dr. this time was helpful & kind. The large nurse was obtuse & not helpful saying that a walk in clinic was for emergencies & one issue only. If it was an emergency I would go to the ER. Doctor care in general is far better in Vancouver than my experiences with this clinic & the other Dr that I've had misfortune of seeing.

Great Medical Clinic, the front staff made it really easy to get my medical exam done. Clean and well managed, would come in again. Thank you.

Peter Church

I've walked-in twice and waited about 30-60 each time. The desk staff were friendly and helpful, and the doctor was kind and thorough.

The original walk in. Always been a good experience

I was told to go here by a doctor I was talking to on a web based service. The doctor I spoke with at this clinic yesterday was less than polite and less than welcoming. I have never been to this clinic before but at this time you would think that a doctor would be more helpful than telling me to just go to the emergency room. I have been suffering from what I now know are migraines and I need a full physical according to the doctor I spoke to online. I was trying to get that set up when the doctor at this clinic told me to go to emergency if I have a migraine. That is not what I was saying. I am on my way to the clinic because it is where my notes were sent from my online appointment. I hope it is a better experience than yesterday

Jordan Donovan

I don't remember the Dr.'s name but she was very good.

Johny Cooper

It's unacceptable how rude the people working at this clinic are, they need to fire some people and hire better people that are more reasonable and aren't rude. Also they need to change their working hours, because they close hours before the listed time everyday and the weekend is the worst. you can show up 3 hours before closing on the weekend just to find out they closed. There has to be set acceptable standards!

K Nicole

My experience here was pretty good. I was a bit unsure about going here after reading the reviews but I needed in right away and it said online that the wait time was really short. I went there and there were 2 receptionists. The large one was extremely rude right off the bat, so I can see what people meant in the reviews. She should not be working at a front desk. Wow. That's why this review isn't 5 stars. The shorter darker haired lady was quite nice. I got in right away and Dr.Hughes was super helpful! I felt like he really cared about my issue and wanted to help. He knew his stuff and gave me everything I needed to hopefully get better. I ended up leaving happy and just a few days later I am feeling much better. Thank you Dr.Hughes!

Horrendous reception. Would not recommend

Well this takes the cake. So get this, I’ve got an ear problem, need to see a doctor on a Saturday, this place says they’re open, so I give them a call and they say come on down. I show up 5 minutes later, I’m second in line and the person in front of me gets to be taken in, I talk to receptionist, “we’re not taking anymore people today”. This place is a absolute total farce and the people who work there should be fired and have they’re licences revokes. Absolutely garbage.

Great physicians. Now at Great Canadian Superstore, better parking. Then go shopping.

Jen

Long long wait time and rude, the odd time you get them on a good day

N. Tan

Wait time was a little bit long but I really appreciate and thank Dr. Butterworth for taking time answered my questions, also wrote a note to explain my syndrome. Thank you and I would recommend this Clinic.

This is an excellent clinic. The doctors are all *very* competent and I've only had one with bad bedside manner; the rest of them genuinely seem to care about my chronic medical issues and Dr. Butterworth in particular helped me out in a major crisis. I'd highly recommend going if he's in. Dr. Goldberg also helped me in a major way by prescribing me just the right medication for my chronic pain issue. I had researched this medication beforehand, but was denied it by another doctor (a blonde woman doctor with an English accent), which was frustrating because other doctors at this clinic had told me that they were almost positive it was nerve pain and this *was* a medication for nerve pain. However, she was waiting for a test result so I can't exactly blame her, but it was unfortunate that it turned out to be the right medication and it was denied to me. C'est la vie. People say the receptionists are rude, but I've had a single bad experience with a receptionist in the probably 8-10 times I've been there. The rest of the times I've been treated quite well, and while they're a little too businesslike they're professional and quick. However... the wait times. I moved here from a much smaller town and haven't visited any other clinic here (no need to!) so I don't know the average, but I normally wait at least half an hour and have waited almost two hours before. This clinic is regularly slammed with patients so I honestly can't fault the wait times, but keep that in mind if you decide to visit this clinic.

This place was a total lifesaver for me while I was on holiday from out of province. The reception staff and doctors here are kind and helpful. I was seen in about an hour and received great care!

Dawson McKay

I've been sitting in the waiting room for 3.5 hours, 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. I'm guessing by the other people waiting around just as long that this is the norm at this clinic. Just go to the hospital. This place is a waste of time.

Jason

Short wait and the doctor was very attentive and helpful!!

Cody Neale

The people on here writing reviews are crybabies. It’s not the clinics fault that there are not nearly enough walk in clinics in Kelowna. You should be going in writing reviews on interior health‘s page. Not making any excuses for the rudeness of a secretary however, if you’re not good with people you should not work with people. However I did not have the same experience with rudeness

UPDATE: I never thought the day would come where I would be desperate enough to go to the clinic after the customer service I experienced, but sadly, it did. I had major major and multiple surgeries and ran out after two weeks of pain killers (narcotic). I went in to get a re-fill, and although I understand that people abuse the prescriptions, I literally had multiple major surgeries and showed the doctor and he literally told me I shouldn't be having pain, totally judged me and made me feel as if I was there to get the medication to abuse. Literally half my body cut through muscle and stitches and he has the nerve. Luckily I was able to get in with another doctor who told me many patients experience extreme pain with what I had done up to 3 weeks and completely understood my pain level. Thanks for the worst customer service and making me feel like a drug addict Lake Shore Medical! Awful Receptionist at the end of the line when calling to ask questions about the walk in clinic. Very un friendly and no consideration or understanding to anyone's situation. If you don't like helping people, you probably shouldn't be dealing with them on a daily basis, let alone at a doctors office. Awful awful awful, I will never go to this office now. Perhaps hire a person who is a better representation of your office at the front end ???? This office has female doctor during walk in hours and they will not allow you to request to see either female or male at the walk in. As a woman with private issues that I do not wish to share with the public but in a nutshell I do NOT feel comfortable with male doctors. I was very very disappointed to be told that it I wanted to see the female dr I would have to come back everyday and I could only come once a day, to see if I was lucky enough to get her that day, even though they had two doctors (one female and one male!!) awful office policy. I would have no problem waiting extra long the one day to see her, even if I had to wait a few hours, no problem! But to come back everyday to test my luck? That seems very very far fetched. I'm so upset I will never ever go to this office, and then on top of that having the receptionist from hell with absolutely not compassion or understanding, just so upsetting.

Poor service, unfriendly and unhelpful reception staff. They can’t even update their locations. I thought I was going to Primacy MD at Superstore which was a FANTASTIC clinic and nope, get this unsatisfying replacement

Kelsey

The receptionist "Frea" is extremely rude and unprofessional. She turned me away and would not even give me a chance to say anything or give her any information. I left in tears feeling helpless due to being ill, and being turned away. She turned me away at 9am so it wasn't like they had no more time in the day. Seems like a human rights violation to me. I called hillside clinic and they said that they would put me on the list and wait for my arrival, then got me in right away. Highly recommend going anywhere but here. After reading other patients reviews it is clear that the management in charge of this clinic does not care how the patients of this clinic are being treated by this same receptionist.

The doctors are great to deal with as is the front office staff. Having it in superstore helps for quick prescription access.

I went to this clinic yesterday (October 16) as I knew I had strep throat. I've been prone to it my whole life. She would not do a swab. Took around 2 minutes with me and told me I would get better. Come today I get a second opinion where they tested immediately for strep going off my symptoms. Oh and ya it came back positive. Avoid this clinic or this doctor. She was an older female and very rude. I know my body so maybe listen to your patient next time.

Steph L

Called the reception and what awful customer service this one lady has. SO rude, very unprofessional. Please leave your job. You are suppose to be helping people not acting like some snobby person who can't even spend 10 seconds being nice.

Linda Rietveld

Great clinic! Always helpful.

Paige Wasserman

Every doctor I have seen here is wonderful. Dr. Butterworth rocks. But it's the receptionists at this office who are the problem, as the other reviewers have pointed out. They're so rude. Also, the wait times can be brutal, but I know that's not any of their faults. I've waited over two hours before to see a doctor. So you've been warned. Prepare for a wait, rude receptionists, but great doctors.

Nicole

Went in at around 4 stood there for a few mintutes before a receptionist finally said hi she then proceeded to be one the meanest people I've ever met, then said oh where closed when I asked because everywhere says 5 she said yea the doctor left

Spencer Michielsen

I tore my MCL recently and couldn't walk or drive. I called this clinic and got through right away to reception. Reception was kind enough to book me a phone appt right away to see whether anything could be done/diagnosed over the phone. The doctor was an informative British Lady and gave me options, and a follow-up visit to Dr. Butterworth a few days later was smooth and convenient as well. He was thorough in our discussion and I now have a straightforward path to recovery. Great service each interaction.

I am a recently retired RN (practiced up until moving and for over 35 yrs) that has moved to Kelowna from Toronto Ontario. I have been very happy with the medical care received from Lakeshore Medical Centre walk-in clinic. All the physicians are very personable, proficient, professional and knowledgeable. I have found that they listen to what the patient-client is concerned about and they take the time to understand and address the concern without undue wait times incurring to see the physician. I guess wait times are all relative, as it was not unusual to have over 1 hrs wait times in walk-in clinics in the Toronto area. I have never waited more than 15 - 20 mins at this clinic but more importantly once seen by the physician you feel like they are NOT watching a "stop-watch" when caring for you - that's how it should be. Some health concerns take more time than others and it should be at the physicians discretion as to what time lengths the individual client's presenting health concern should take. Thank you to this clinic for keeping with "personalized" health care! As for the client that talks about showing up 20 mins before the clinic is closing and not being excepted - well "thems the breaks" - try using health care anywhere else outside this city - if you can find a clinic even operating.... :( I would speak to your politicians rather than criticize the physicians and clinic practices. The politicians need to truly understand that under-staffing of physicians in the city of Kelowna stops with them ultimately! Maybe Christie Clark needs to hear more about Kelowna resident concerns with lack of physician availability?? We all need to bark up the right tree if we don't like what's happening to Canadian health care!

The lady’s at the front are horrible and they aren’t open until the time stated.. I’ve gone at different times and hope to get it and if it’s past 1pm forget it don’t bother because they are most likely gonna turn you away.

My husband needed a requisition from a Doctor for an MRI at a private clinic. Ended up here, the lady Dr. With an Australian accent was beyond rude. Asked us why we were here (SK Heath Card), told us to go to our family Dr., we don't have one, told him she has not assesed his injuries, and if this MRI was requested by our lawyer, she has nothing to do with our attorney. Walked out...only to find out that our great Free Medicare system only allows you to go to 1 clinic per day!

Have seen many of the doctors at this location for walk in and have been happy with all of them

Awful customer service. The lady I spoke to on the phone was rude and obnoxious. I asked to see a doctor and she said absolutely not because I already have a family doctor. But my family doctor is in another town and I can't get to them. If your going to work with people and talk to them on the phone try being s little nicer and empathetic towards patients

Ben

Worst reception staff in the world. Doctors themselves are fine but be prepared for rude, nasty, and incredibly unpleasant reception staff.
