The staff at Guisachan have always been super friendly to me in the many many years I have visited this office! They have always welcomed me like family. To be honest when I heard Dr.Mackle was leaving I cried. He was always so amazing to me as a young kid and continued through to me having 4 of my own, that being said Dr.Purdon replaced him and I am very fond of him aswell. He has amazing bedside manner and also treats my family like gold! We are very thankful to be his patients! Few names to throw out there that I absolutely love at this clinic, Julie, Barb, Kathy! You are all truly amazing! Many long due improvements are being made to this clinic and it is going to look awesome! LOVE the online booking, and unlike many I am understanding of their new phone system, try being on the other side of the counter receiving all those phone calls! Keep up the good work everyone of Guisachan Medical! <3

Dr Van Der Ross and staff are awesome. I usually don't get along well with dr's but Dr. Van Der Ross is very patient and understanding. Office is always very clean and quite easy to find parking at all times of day.

All one has to do is read the responses from the owner for the bad reviews and you will see they have copied and pasted the same generic one size fits all response to all bad reviews This one size fits all approach reflects this office’s attitude towards their one size fits all healthcare. AVOID DR. BEN PROZESKI IF YOU VALUE GOOD HEALTH CARE AND YOUR LIFE. ' GP was Ben Prozeski of the Guisachan Family Medicine in Kelowna, BC. My brother was admitted to Kelowna General Hospital last month due to pains he was having in his abdomen. He has previously been diagnosed with H Pylori, or as it is also known as Helicobacter pylori, a painful gastrointestinal infection. He was submitted to several tests including an MRI, ultrasound and eventually a Petscan. My brother discharged himself from the hospital and came home. Upon his return from the hospital we were contacted by Ben Prozeski informing us my brother had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and it looked like it was caught early. The following day we received a call from my brothers HV specialist expressing concern as the petscan showed "hot spots" Subsequently my brother was contacted by another doctor, a resprologist from the hospital and was requested he undergo a biopsy of his lung as it looked like his cancer had spread. Sure enough a few days later the respirologist from the hospital called to confirm the cancer had unfortunately spread to hs lungs. Not ten minutes later we had a call from Dr. Ben Prozeski to inform us the lung biopsy was clear and that it appeared the cancer had not spread. During this call he informed us he was aware my brothers H Pylori had NOT been cleared up and his reason for not informing us was "covid came up". Dr. Prozeski's neglect and failure to inform my brother his infection had not cleared up further jeopardized my brothers health. Ben Prozeski becme very nervous when I informed him of this neglect. I asked him why was he calling my brother to provide him information he knew was not accurate. Ben Prozeski also confirmed on my recorded calls he had not reviewed the medical documents thoroughly before contacting us. I asked him why was he calling us as these calls he would be charging the BC Ministry of Health. Dr. Prozeski had sent us on an emotional rollercoaster with his disinformation he provided to us that was a total 180 from what the medical specialists told us and for which he billed the provincial government for these "appointments". I asked Dr. Ben Prozeski why was he calling to give us disinformation he knew he did not thoroughly review. I asked him was it because he needed funds to pay alimony, child support, a new jet ski or to purchase yet another vacation/rental property? I have recordings of Dr. Prozeski that I am able to provide investigators admitting his neglect should they be required by investigators or other patients experiencing the same situation. Subsequently my brother has found another GP and will not be returning to this sorry excuse for medical services. In addition Ben Prozeski's receptionist is the most rude, arrogant, disrespectful receptionist either one of us have ever encountered in our sixty plus years.

Response to owners response Please note your word for word generic response has also occurred other negative google reviews of your alleged health facility. You embarrass yourselves with your laziness and ineptitude, negligence to deliver quality health care. See the same generic response from the owner to bad reviews by Kenya Goanyfaster, Jake Good, and Cameron Craig As stated in your posted owners response “At Guisachan Family Medicine we take pride in providing the highest quality care to our patients and their families. It is disappointing to read a review like this and would appreciate the opportunity to talk to you about your experience”. Failing to inform patients of health concerns you are aware they are suffering from while minimizing the life threatening results of test results is NOT something to take pride in Failing to read and convey to the patient accurately scientific factually based diagnostics a patient has metastatic cancer is NOT “the highest quality of care” taxpayers should be subjected to Your actions/inactions are not are dangerous and NOT something to take pride in. We tried speaking directly wi Dr Ben Prozesky regarding the incompetent receptionist and his negligent action of not following up on a medical diagnosis he knew which had a great impact on my brothers health. Enough said. SREYA the receptionist who answers the phone has got to go In the past my brother who is dealing with pancreatic cancer has not had his calls returned by Dr Prozeski. It’s not because Dr Prozeski is not wanting to return his calls it is because Dr Prozeski is not getting the messages given by the extremely rude receptionist who identifies herself as SREYA SREYA the receptionist for Dr Prozeski needs to be removed from her position at this clinic. She has failed repeatedly to have the doctor call when a patient is very ill. After her condescending attitude and dismissal of our health concerns she hung up on me. She took great offence to being reminded of the fact Dr Prozeski himself has said for my brother to call and request a call back. Dr Prozeski himself has said he had not been getting the messages my brother left for him I called the office back to get her name. She identified herself as SREYA (her spelling). She said nothing about my our concern for my brothers pancreatic cancer. SREYA was extremely rude and said she forwarded a message about her alleged “treatment” by me advocating for my brother. She said nothing about forwarding our health concerns before once again slamming down the phone. SREYA HAS NO BUSINESS BEING IN THE HEALTHCARE FIELD

Love this office, love doctor Purdon he is an amazing doctor, but his receptionist Sarah is AWFUL! She always gives so much attitude when I’m there or call her. If I ever ask her a question she gives me this tone that makes me feel SO stupid for even asking. Last time I was there an elderly lady (probably Around 90 years old) asked her if she would call her a cab and she REFUSED. Said it wasn’t her job. Unacceptable!!! All the other ladies at the front are so great and welcoming. Doctor Van Der Ross’s receptionist Jessie (?) is always so polite and seems to go above and beyond the expectations. She always makes me feel SO welcome, as do all the others. Sarah should take notes from them!????

wait times are ridiculous even when you have an appointment. NO ONE answers the phone and there is 6 receptionists.

Dr. Hurmatali and the staff in this clinic are always very professional and kind.

Suze Bee

I love this clinic. The support staff are warm and friendly and when my GP is unavailable, there is always another doc who I can see. I'd give 6 stars if I could.

Dr ketch has been my GP for nearly 20 years. This is a very busy practice. However I never wait more than 10 min to see Dr Ketch. He is efficient, caring and knowledgeable. The front staff is always amazing

I am leaving a 1 star review because, for the 3rd time in a row, my calls aren't going through to the receptionist for Dr Van der Ross. The 3 calls I've made over the past year have yet to go through to Dr Van der Ross's receptionist. Each time I've had to call back after waiting 20-30 minutes, and wait again for another receptionist. I've notified the receptionist of the other doctor at the clinic and they don't acknowledge there's a problem. I keep getting "I'm not sure what's going on" and it's a one time issue, which it obviously isn't.

Melissa Hawkins

Took me 10 times calling over a span of 2 days just to reach reception. My doctor's mailbox was full and 2 other doctors' were as well. The receptionist of a different doctor than my own was not even going to help me simply book an appointment until there was no one else she could transfer me to. I've been with this office since 2001; service has gone waaaaay downhill even since last year. Staff were friendly; that's about it... I asked why I couldn't get ahold of the office, she asked what time I called last, (9:45am) she replied, "oh that's why." She didnt even explain to me why they weren't available, even with their hours of operation being 8:30am-5:30pm (also closed 2 hours for lunch--11:45am-1:45pm) Simply put, not a very efficient doctor's office.

Dr. Hendriks was amazing throughout my entire pregnancy and my daughter's first year. He will tell it to you straight but is extremely understanding when you have fears as a new parent, which is exactly what I want in a doctor.

I've been on hold for 30 minutes and counting just to talk to someone to book an appointment. How many phone calls could they possibly have? Almost worst then calling Telus. As it is, when I go in for appointments their never on time and we wait longer then our actual appointment with the doc. Things need to change. Update: waited 35 minutes on hold, decided to try another doc's receptionist one ring they answer. Was told the other receptionist is very busy and has 8 calls on hold.....why cant they just share the duties and responsibilities together. There all receptionists, access to all the same systems and files etc. Ridiculous!!! They were going to transfer me back to her bu glady they decided to help me.

Angela Tam

Dr. Prozesky is a wonderful family doctor. Highly recommended for his knowledge and professionalism. The clinic itself is difficult to get through at times with 'busy' call signals, but he more than makes up for it.

Dr. Purdon is not only thorough, but funny and entertaining. Don't see that usually. He actually cares about your health! My girlfriend hated her doctor and now sees Dr. Purdon as well. Her opinion is the same.

Terry Richmond

Dr purdon is great but his receptionist is so ignorant and a complete stob, she never tries to help you get in just pushes it as far away as possible ! Lady your a office assistant not a lawyer . Show some customer service or go somewhere else. Where is rouge and barb there the bomb! Stop hiring these young ignorant ladies . 6 receptionists and not one can answer a phone ????‍♀️

Dr. Ketch is the best doctor I have ever had. The office staff and assistants are always warm and welcoming and do an excellent job of triaging and organizing their patients. I have had some issues getting through on the phone as well but I have also been in the waiting room when there is medical emergencies happening at the clinic and the staff is always doing their best to balance the current workload. Their phones are busy because they're an excellent office!

I have been trying 4 different time book an appointment on line, EACH TIME it doesn’t work. Have any of the office staff tried to book an appointment on this system. So then each time I phone and the shortest time waiting on the phone has been 15 minutes 22 seconds. The longest time I waited is 22 minutes 18 seconds. Something needs to be done to make this work more effectively. Once I get an appointment everything goes smoothly and the staff and doctors are great.

Tim

Always helpful

Gary Loto

3 days MAILBOX FULL GOODBYE May as well not have a phone

Josh Meier

Highly recommend Dr. Prozesky. He is the most competent doctor I have dealt with in a long time and actually cares. He takes the time to listen to your concerns, which sadly is rare in todays age.

Regina Lugtu

You're not gonna get help from this clinic.

Our appointment was with Dr. Akyurekli on Tuesday, Nov. 26th. First I was given the wrong time to bring my 94 yr old mother in so we had to come back 4 hours later. This wasn’t a mistake on my part as I had called back on the 19th to double check the date and time before the appointment. My Mom was given two prescriptions which were to be faxed directly to the drug store. By the next day it still wasn’t at the drug store so we phoned the office and found out they had the wrong number. The next day, Thursday, the office is closed. On Friday the meds still weren’t at the pharmacists. I called waited on hold for 20 min. When I spoke to the receptionist she said there wasn’t any prescription on file, which I responded that I was right there when the doctor gave her the paperwork. After our 3 min. conversation she asked me to hold of which I was on hold for 35 min. I hung up and tried again in case I had gotten put into cyberspace while on hold. Once again I was automatically put on hold for 15 min. at which point I gave up. It is now the weekend and my Mom is still in pain and we have had no positive outcome for five days. We were very pleased with the doctor but something definitely has to change at the front end. Mom’s previous doctor, who retired, only had one receptionist and she managed very well. The doctor had a very busy and full clientele plus 3 examination rooms which the receptionist was responsible for. Unfortunately I really am not looking forward to having to go through all the waiting again tomorrow to try to get the medication for my Mom. UPDATE: Amanda came back and fixed everything in less than two hours. So extremely efficient and helpful.

Please fix your phone system it’s not working.

Dr. Jennifer Parsons is great!!

Olivia Heczko

Dr. Stevenson was our family Dr for many years generations in fact . I was very worried when he retired as I didn’t think anyone could take his place . My first meeting with his replacement Dr Parsons was fantastic ! I feel so fortunate to have her as our family doctor . I can’t say enough good things !

They rarely answer their phone - they do not answer for two hours during lunch, and have no answering service. Even when their voicemail says they are open (and answering their phones), they still rarely answer when you call and you cannot leave a voicemail. So if you want to call this office to make an appointment, you either have to remind yourself to keep trying every few minutes until you get thru, which could be on your fifth or tenth try, or better yet, drive there and speak to them in person to make an appointment. There have been days I have tried calling and just given up. The office and staff are okay, some are really nice, but their accessibility is super unprofessional and extremely annoying!
