Went there for dinner... buffet was over, finishes around 7 PM, the restaurant looks a bit old but there are quite a variety on the menu. Had Mushroom egg drop soup and szechuan beef. Tonnes of veggi whoch was really good. Some of beef pieces tasted a bit funny but i didnt get sick so I guess it was ok. All in all good food and service.

5 ???? for the buffet... we ordered beef n broccoli and Cantonese chow mein from menu... slimy and both dishes tasted the same. Did not eat it but as for the buffet EXCELLENT

Just passing through town and was in the mood for some Chinese food. Thing La's did not disappoint, food was delicious! We did the dinner for two and there was plenty of food left over. The chicken balls were super crispy - which I loved. The staff were friendly when I called to order and when I picked the food up! Definitely recommend!

We had a great lunch today with family and friends. Even though there was no buffet for lunch on a Saturday, the kitchen was extremely fast and the staff was pleasant and very professional. I look forward to going again some time.

Just happened on this place passing through the Kap. It was a Sunday night which meant buffet. Reasonable selection for a the size of town but quality was great. The cook must still have his feet wet from getting off the boat.

I found the food good but wish they added more spices... also for a chinese restaurant I fail to see schezwaun chicken or general tso chicken. Id love for this place to add the cpl extra items they would be great in the combo's as well

Very nice Chinese restaurant. The atmosphere is light and bright, the staff very friendly and the food is great and the prices are great. There are the usual combination plates and dinners for 2 people and up but they also have special combination plates that are quite elevated for a great price. Fridays and Sundays are buffet days and that also is quite nice as they have soup and/or salad to start and ends with desserts. A very nice establishment for a place to bring the family or to go by oneself.

Went at 11 a.m. on a Sunday for a quick work lunch with a coworker from Walmart and we ate right away and the buffet was wonderful!

The highlight of visiting Kapuskasing. I'd visit every year growing up whilst visiting the family. Very consistent flavour and quality over the years. Love this place. A few cons: On a couple occasions while dining in, a beef dish we like to order sometimes comes out over cooked, chewy, and inedible. Expected from a small town, the restaurant owners fight back at our request to bring out a new dish or a full refund, and that they were only willing to take a few dollars off the beef dish at best. With myself having experience working in the restaurant industry, you could never get away with that in the city. Whenever you have a small complaint they can be downright rude and defensive. Just make your customer happy and bring out a fresh dish - if I'm saying it's terrible, it's terrible. I've been here enough times. Secondly, if you want to thoroughly enjoy AYCE, you have to arrive pretty much for 4:45PM for a table and fresh food. Otherwise you're out of luck, no tables and limited food selection. I much prefer ordering take-out. My favourite are the deep fried wings and chicken fried rice. Egg rolls, wonton soup and chicken balls are also great. Always creating great memories at Thong La's with the family. Aside from a few negative experiences over the years, I hope they never close down!

We found an elastic band in our food. Lucky no one choked on it. Told the owner and they weren't even phased about it. Did not say sorry and didn't offer a discount. That tells me that the kitchen must be shady. Might be time for a health unit visit.

Poor service lady taking orders very rude pass on the food have me 2 of the same thing 1 moo goo gia pan and 1 szechuan chicken and it was not spicy and underdone oh and no mustard all I ask was for a meal no patience on the phone never again

Food was good. But the service is horrible. The older lady at the cash has a really nasty attitude. The way she spoke to us was ridiculous. The fact she yelled made it worse. What's even worse? The owner was standing right there without telling her to not speak to us the way she was. We will never be returning.
