Do not listen to any of the negative reviews of Dr.Thompson. My wife and I are both patients of hers and she is thoughtful, intelligent, caring and has been nothing but helpful to both of us. The whole staff is excellent. Maybe if those who have issues had enrolled in the online patient portal, as they suggested, you would then know when your physician is away. Or on vacation.

One of the people there is “MAGIC”!! I have terribly deep veins in my elbows and they always listen to me and 9/10 times hit the right vein on the first try 9/10 on me. Tanya, u know who u are and I love that u know to warm up my hand and hit “that vein” and I never bruise when u do it. So, thank you for making a frightening experience painless and bruise less for me. You take the time to listen to me and aren’t dismissive like the nurses at QMHC are.

While their website does not give this info, they only do lab work for the doctors in their building or naturopaths.....this was a huge inconvenience as I made a special trip to Nelson just to use LifeLabs while on vacation.

Waited 3 hours for my walk-in appointed after being told it was only a 40min wait time. Tech was friendly so ill add a star.

Terrible service. I was visiting Nelson and I booked the appointment and I changed my trip plan around the appointment as I needed to do the test in a certain time. When I got there I get told that they only perform tests for doctors at the same building and no one else. They were no notes or emails or phone calls to let me know that when I did the appointment. They just don’t care.

Didnt smile, answer me when i asked how she was , and condescendingly and finger shaking educated me on the fact that ‘we are in Nelson you know, not the big city’ ‘we don’t deal with that doctor, u cant have your tests dine here!’ Wouldnt let that lady touch me with a 10ft pole let ali e a needle!!!

Completely inadequate reception services accompanied by even more incompetent doctors. Dr. K Thompson was not even capable of identifying the covid 19 symptoms given by our surgeon general and WHO. I had to argue to simply be seen. Afterwards she altered my medical records adding multiple allergies to antibiotics that were never discussed, I've had to spend my time and money to right the incompetence of the medical and receptionist staff.

Visited life labs today for some blood work for our 1 year old. The staff were very professional, caring, courteous and knowledgeable. We didn't get the time to thank them today as our daughter was crying, but they did a awesome job, and we appreciate there hard work.

Disgusting business practices. Took my mother to the hospital, had to sign some paperwork for lab work... and within 4 days I'm receiving texts from this company! I've never been inside one of their facilities, the hospital was in WASHINGTON STATE! And how they got my information is beyond infuriating. What a crock, now medical companies are selling your information for advertising purposes. Disgusting, disgusting disgusting!

Absolutely the best! Dr. Melissa Tenbergen is a brilliant doctor, I am so lucky to have her supervising my healthcare. She is caring, very kind and thorough, quite willing to think outside of the box. My experiences with Dr. Tenbergen and Dr. Thompson and all of the staff have been exceptional. St. Thomas and area citizens are very lucky to have these two wonderful doctors and their staff

I went there today at LifeLabs on Elm. A staff member came out in the hallway to basically send us home because they were discouraging walk-ins. I mean...what is it they do there? I was told to go there by my doctor and get a blood test. When I went they stopped me before I even got in the office and wanted to know if I had an appointment...if not they preferred I not wait. There were only two people in the lineup outside the office and I was number 2 in that outside line. This is a poorly run facility and it's not the first time I've had problems. The last time I went there they had lost the fax that my doctor had sent over so I waited to discover they had no idea who/why I was there. Another government run agency with a market lock-down. If you don't like going there too bad...there are no other choices. Some of us older people will remember that's how the post office used to function until it was made into a Crown Corporation and people's wages were cut in half. Those of you who work there - beware of the same thing happening.

Absolutely love the Lifemark Physio Therapy here. My one and only complaint about the building is there are no change tables in either the women's or family washrooms. Making is very inconvenient for a grumpy baby.

I've had great a experience with this office since switching over. Staff is awesome, and it feels like the doctors listen to you. Me and some family members have different doctors there and have all had great experiences. Plus the people working reception are really sweet and make the place very comforting.

First time there yesterday and new to the area! I travelled there from Trail. Book my appointment days before which was really easy to do Online. I went there I checked in really fast. All were nice and helpful. Awesome service

Funny Stuff

Very nice and clean, every doctor I've met has been very good, reception could stand to be a little nicer. Biggest issue is the influx of patients has resulted in long wait times. Takes probably 8 weeks to get an appointment, which is exactly what's wrong with our public healthcare. Once you have an appointment though they are very prompt and get you in very reasonably.

My diagnosis of allergies turned out to be more than allergies. Today I called 8 times to see if by chance I could get in to see my Dr., each time my call went to an answering machine, I could leave a message but they may not respond for up to 48 hrs, too busy. So in the afternoon I got into my vehicle and drove across town to FHO only to be told my Dr wasn't in today, and that they have been having problems with certain phone providers calls not going through. I have found that most times it takes numerous calls to get through to a person, hire more staff? It's off to the walk in clinic.

Life labs have always been great! Kind, curtious & friendly but since having to make an appointment by phone or using the website it has became extremely difficult to make appointments & IMPOSSIBLE to manage my appointments. By phone is impossible and the bebiste is extremely difficult to maneuver through, constant "this option is currently unavailable, try again later" I'm Very disappointed with their website! I did manage to make an appointment but unable to change it now that I can't make it that day! Good luck everyone, hopefully this will all be over soon!

I contacted this place twice, once over the phone and second time personally visited their office. They never called me back with the information that I was told they will acquire for me. Later, I visited their office in person and I learnt the reception/clerical staff members are very 'politely' rude! They make you feel like you are an intruder. Besides, memos on the bulletin board next to check-in counter gives you an idea what kind of office help you might get at this place ("if you are 5 min late for your appointment....etc.) I should guess that before talking to these ladies.

This place sucks. They lie about their hours, wait till the end of the day to answer fax (so you get screwed out of your prescription), they go on vacation without notifying you and they don't have a Dr. to fill in for them and they are lazy and don't answer the phone after 4:30pm. Because of the lack of professional standards I'm currently looking for a new doctor. Dr. Kim Thompson is nice but useless.( I had to find out from another Doctor that my surgery has been denied.) so I recommend avoiding Dr.Thompson and the entire FHO (SO UNPROFESSIONAL)

I have never been to such an inaccessible lab before. I've had my blood done twice there but had to go 4 times to get it done twice. The first time the woman was incredibly rude. I had just moved from Manitoba to Kenora and I handed the woman my Manitoba health card and she loudly said "oh from MANITOBA" While everyone around stared. This was during the height of covid stigma and it made me feel incredibly overwhelmed and unwelcomed. The other times I have had to attempt getting bloodwork done I've arrived to hear "oh we're only taking appointments today" there was nobody in the building. Nobody getting blood done except me. To be the only lab in the city and to randomly not allow walk-ins isn't accessable for so many vulnerable parts of our community who don't have access to booking online or calling to make an appointment. Overall I've had been negative experiences with their professionalism and how they operate.

Dr Perera is very knowledgeable, compassionate and thorough. I have been seeing her for about 2 years and always feel comfortable with her and trust her advice. Staff at this office is thoughtful as well.

Awful place, just go to the lab at Kootenay Lake Hospital. The older woman who works here is very rude and condescending. I was refused service once at 2:30 pm because she told me she had already packaged everything up for the courier. Why do you advertise open till 4 pm? If you have to allow time to package up for courtiers, etc, then change your hours to reflect your closing earlier to do that.

The've always been friendly and efficient. I did just find out though, that if your doctor faxes an order to their central system, it won't show up for four (4) hours. You'd need to get dr. to e-mail/fax you a copy so you can show it. Also, spouse, etc. can pick up for you if they have your care card.

I have never had any real problems with this lab. They seem efficient, get results back to my doctor in a timely manner. Would be five stars except for one lost in the system requisition. Not a huge deal. They have been my lab of choice for many years.
