The staff at Kamloops Oral Surgery & I plant Center are absolutely amazing caring and warm hearted people they took the time with me to really listen to my fears of the dentist and worked with me every step of the way the day of my surgery Dr Bob Rishiraj was not only patient with me but very kind and completely understood my fears and worked really hard to keep me as comfortable as possable while my teeth were removed and dentures put in his after care is also great he really does care about his patients I highly recommend them 100% thank you so much Dr Bob for giving me my smile and my confidence back I am forever grateful to you and your staff

Very good at wasting patients time. They also put alot of effort into trying to create the illusion of sterility. Their surgical booties and communal slippers policy offer zero protection for patient's. The staff all wear street shoes in the office and the danger cross contamination is not addressed when shoes are removed on the very same mat the booties or slippers are put on. It's a juvenile and transparent attempt at creating the illusion of cleanliness and a complete waste of time. The entire reason for this negative review is precisely to point out these measures are NOT effective. Perhaps you were away the day they discussed hygene in dental school. Any food safe course will explain the concept of cross contamination to you. Dangerous contaminants are rarely seen by the naked eye. Constant thorough cleaning and sterilization are far more effective in controlling infections than some misguided exercise in futility.

I was referred to this dentist and I had a horrible experience I was completely humiliated it was all good until I actually seen the dentist the girls at the front desk were amazing and nice. But when I went in to see him we talked about sedation he then said “you are a big girl” and that to do sedation he wouldnt be able to do it at his office i would have to do it at the hospital then began to say “but even at the hospital they wouldn’t take your case because your so big” .. I was very embarrassed.. shocked .. i walked to my car crying I am a very sensitive person and I think you should think about how you say things to people before you say it at all! I know I’m overweight you don’t have to say it that way he could have said it a nicer way or just not at all! Definitely not going back!

Dec. 22/ 2021 they are the only one that took my insurance and do payment plan. They explained every step in detail and they ask me along the way how I'm feeling. I had four teeth pulled in under one hour fifteen minutes. I would recommend Kamloops oral surgery and implant center for there timely and prefinal service.

Dr. Rishiraj and his team are awesome! Anticipation had my blood pressure up too high, but they waited patiently while I did some deep breathing. The procedure was to remove excess bone from my lower jaw (mandibular torii) but as awful as that sounds, it was quick (and with local freezing) painless! In fact, the most pain I experienced in the chair was from the blood pressure cuff. I highly recommend Dr. Rishiraj!

Dr. Bobby Rishiraj owns and operates Kamloops Oral Surgery and Implant Centre A Kamloops dental surgeon disciplined for improperly sedating a young woman during a routine operation, leaving her with a lifelong severe brain injury, is now permanently banned from sedating patients due to infractions in 2019. In 2015, Dr. Bobby Rishiraj was suspended from his practice for three months by the College of Dental Surgeons of B.C. and ordered to pay a fine of $50,000 and costs of $50,891.30. The reprimand came after a botched procedure in November 2012 during a wisdom teeth removal procedure involving an 18-year-old patient. Hamu Zindoga went into cardiac arrest during the procedure and, according to evidence given in the disciplinary hearing from a paramedic, stopped breathing due to a piece of gauze blocking her airway. Zindoga and her mother, Evelyn, have since moved to Ontario, where Zindoga is being cared for. Her mother later filed a malpractice suit against Rishiraj and his dental assistant. During the college’s 2015 hearing, it was determined Rishiraj administered deep sedation to Zindoga when neither he nor the facility were authorized to do so. It also found he ran his practice in a manner designed to treat as many patients as possible in a short time period. It found Rishiraj failed to recognize his patient went into cardiac arrest in a timely manner, delaying resuscitative measures and failed to monitor Zindoga and other patients during sedation. In making its penalty ruling, the college noted the review panel was troubled by the case. In the report, it noted there were “many disturbing elements of Dr. Rishiraj’s conduct that raise concerns about his character.” In addition to the financial penalties from the 2015 incident, Rishiraj was ordered to provide only moderate sedation services to patients for five years and agree to the college monitoring and inspecting his practice at any time without notice. That led to this latest reprimand. According to a decision posted to the college’s website on Nov. 17, Rishiraj admitted he provided sedation services at the facility when it was not in compliance with the college’s standards and guidelines, avoiding a disciplinary hearing scheduled for February 2022. Rishiraj was fined another $25,000, ordered to pay $4,000 to the college for the investigation and agreed to permanently cease providing any level of sedation services at any dental facility in B.C. He is also banned from managing sedation services at his practice, but can continue on as operator or director of the facility. Rishiraj owns and operates Kamloops Oral Surgery and Implant Centre. In April of 2019, deficiencies were identified during an inspection of the facility by a college committee, resulting in a subsequent visit. In June of 2019, the college accepted an undertaking from Rishiraj that he would not provide any level of sedation in the facility until the matter was resolved. Included in Rishiraj’s subsequent admission was that he failed to adequately maintain sedation records for his patients and failed to perform and record required pre-operative assessments or record the patient's level of consciousness. He also did not ensure the facility staff that assisted with moderate sedation were appropriately qualified or trained, improperly stored and logged restricted drugs and did not conduct mock emergency drills as required.

I couldn’t afford the sedation so I opted for the local anesthetic for the surgery. I have anxieties when it comes to the dentist and surgeries. I'm phobic of dentists and all their hardware. I still haven't been able to do work without nitrous oxide. Dr. Rishiraj was able to do a surgery on my gums with nothing but freezing. I had a terrible experience, first of all my appointment was delayed by about an hour almost just waiting where I could clearly hear that they double booked me, they did not take the tooth out on one piece and when they did the doctor didn’t tell me that he may or did lunch a nerve... it’s been week 5 and still no feeling on the right side of my bottom lip and tongue. I tried calling the office several times and they have not followed up or called back at all. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Also side note my sister in law went to this same ‘surgeon’ and had the exact same situation happen only she NEVER GOT THE FEELING IN HER JAW BACK! Highly recommend doing your research before visiting this ‘surgeon’..

I would be very cautious of relying on the posted "5 star rating" for selecting this surgeon. I had an extraction completed in 2015, the surgery took far longer than planned and according to my wife she was called in to help bring me out of sedation. She described the atmosphere in the room being "very tense". Fortunately I did not suffer any known health issues as a result of sedation, however have some resulting nerve damage to that side of my mouth due to the surgery. Highly not recommended.

I can’t even begin to express how wonderful my experience was with Dr. Rishiraj and his team. First of all, going to the dentist is never really “enjoyable” but this whole team made the process from start to finish as relaxing as possible. There were no surprises with my wisdom tooth extraction. Everything was thoroughly explained, the proper after care was properly explained, and the amount of extra “covid-19” cleaning procedures were demonstrated more than exemplary. I should have gotten my wisdom teeth out years ago, but having found this Surgical Center, I am happy I waited. Highly recommend, 10/10
