Beware: I went here a while ago to complete testing required for nursing school. I inquired about coverage and was told it was not covered, I continued happily but learned later from classmates this was supposed to be covered. I called the clinic and explained my situation, asking if maybe they has misunderstood my original situation. I was told it was not covered, however upon further research I learned it should be and filed to get my 400 dollars back. I recieved this and a statement that it should have been covered. Today I went there in a pinch but was turned away and told to go somewhere else. I knew inmedietly why this was flagged. I meant no harm and only wanted my rightful money back for coverage. I do not believe this is legal and will be looking further into it.
Very slow waits, good doctors
Easily the worst walk-in clinic. By far. Service is deplorable. Don’t waste your time. Find another. Trust me it’s better.
Got there in the morning, receptionist was very polite, doctor listened to me and prescribed medicine with caution.
Waited three hours before going into office and then another hour waiting for the doctor
Oh my god The reception lady has no manners and is very mean she has no patients don’t bother saying good morning she won’t respond don’t bother saying thank you she won’t reply. Before there was a lady that was super nice she always hade a smile on her face. This one has a very dry face if you don’t know what that means it means she is very mean.
Fastest walk in clinic I have ever been in 30 min in and out
Needed a flu shot, but I'm a non-citizen (no health card), so couldn't get one at Shoppers. Was able to get in and out in less than 5min with my shot. They only take cash so I had to hit the ATM in Fortino's next door, so maybe actually 8min. Fast and easy!
I've been to this walk-in twice now, and both times were a good experience. I interacted with two different receptionists, both who joked with me and were kind. I saw two different doctors. The first was really helpful and actually called me to follow up when he was concerned we hadn't clarified something. The second was informative and treated me with respect instead of being dismissive, and gave me a prescription as well as an over-the-counter option because I don't have a drug plan. The place is clean and I was seen within 30 minutes the first time and 15 minutes the second.
The receptionist is very rude. I was in pain and all she wanted was me to go print out my card as she doesn't accept a soft copy even though she had a printer. Terrible service.
The receptionist is really nice, but the doctor here is awful. Came in first thing at 9 when they opened and could hear the doctor chatting with the woman in the next room for 45 minutes. Spent less than 3 minutes with me. Then found out from pharmacist that the prescription she gave me had been discontinued for years.
Very unprofessional at the front desk. My guess is it’s either complete ignorance from lack of training or straight arrogance. I had what I suspected was glass stuck in my foot. Couldn’t get in to see my regular GP so I went here. If they knew they were not equipped to remove something from someone’s foot, someone should’ve informed me of that upon arrival. Instead I sat for 2 hours in the waiting room and 45 minutes in the clinical room just for a doctor to tell me to seek medical attention elsewhere. My own fault I suppose should’ve went to urgent care to begin with, I ended up waiting twice as long as I should’ve that night. Place is also very uncleanly, would like to see someone at least change the paper on the exam table between patients.
I waited for 3.5 hours at Brantford Hospital without having been seen - meanwhile I could have driven to Hamilton, seen my Doctor at Dundurn Medical in less than an hour, gone to the James St. lab to have ultrasounds and x-rays done in less than 1/2 hour and been back to Brantford all in less time than I wasted at the hospital. Dundurn Medical is efficient, listens to their patients and takes their time assessing you correctly the first time. Dr. Nainar in particular is AWESOME!
I'm shocked at the bad reviews, my experience was phenomenal. Maybe they have improved recently? I was seen relatively quickly, but once with the doctor he was very thorough, listened attentively and didn't rush me at all (as walk-in doctors sometimes do). He was an extremely nice man, and was also careful to not make me anxious (I'm an anxiety sufferer). The front desk staff was very warm and sweet without being fake, just genuinely nice. Would definitely go back.
Great. 10/10
Receptionist is rude. No real doctor here!
I wish there was an option to give 0 stars for this pathetic clinic. My neurologist closed his practice suddenly and I was referred here to recieve my injections for neck arthritis. I overheard a man in front of me getting the same shots and he was told it would be $25.00. I never had to pay for these with my neurologist as Ohip covered it. I simply questioned why there was a fee and the receptionist very rudely said " well somebody has to pay for the medication." I then told her I was not informed of this fee and had no money on me and she said "well you don't have to get them then." I have been without my injections for 4 months now while waiting to get into a pain clinic, so to be standing there while iun pain having someone be so unsympathetic was just disgusting! Then she handed me a clipboard and said to fill it out, and I said I just wanted to know how much it would be first and she said " I don't know ask the doctor when you see him." As I turned around to go fill out the information I clearly heard her say " I don't need your snotty attitude." Nowhere in my interaction with her was I ever rude to her it was quite the opposite in fact. While filling everything out another receptionist came out and again I heard her talking about me to her. There are so many people in the medical administration field looking for work and having no luck, it sickens me that people like this actually do. After hearing her talking about me I got up handed back the clipboard and told them I would not be getting the shots as they were very rude and obviously the bad reviews about them were completely true. The receptionist ugly attitude sure matched her face. If you want to get treated like a piece of garbage then by all means go but I know I would never step foot in that hole of a place again.
The receptionist did not explain the procedure and I was so sick I didn't ask. However, Dr. Manawadu was excellent. He did a thorough examination. Explained what I had. Checked for drug interactions with my current meds and discovered the medication that would have worked best would have reacted badly with a medication I was currently on. Explain what he was prescribing and why. He was professional, very kind, knowledgeable and polite. Best Walk In physician I've ever had.
My spouse was seen by a doctor at this location who not only ordered an outstanding number of unnecessary tests to deliver a very standard diagnosis. Which I can only assume was due to their pay per service operating procedure. After the follow up conversation my spouse was told everything came back within normal levels it was not until she ordered her results through a third party did she discover the route of the issue. Do not seek medical attention at this facility.
Horrible time schedule . Ive been to this clinic 3 times hours before they close and they were closed . So I spent my time and gas for nothing .
Showed up during normal business hours and sign was on the door saying they were closed for the day. Once wasn't a big deal, but this happened to me the two times that I tried going there. I have never successfully made it in the door. Call ahead!
You have to wait at list two hours every time you visit even if there is nobody a head of you. Don’t waste your time. You wouldn’t be surprised to see a new physician every time!!!
Receptionist (Indian girl) has no respect and rude Dr are friendly
Myself and the family have used this walk in clinic over the years. Recently I was in and as it was Sunday and not busy I was seen within about an hour. However, in the end, I still need to go see my regular doctor, and have since seen a family doctor and am now going for an ultrasound. The doctor on duty would not give me the requisition to get one done, so unfortunately I have to wait to get in for this test, and I'm still in pain.
If you don’t feel good and you gonna miss a test or due date or something. This place won’t help in anyway and the service here is horrible! If you had diarrhea I think they have to watch you actually poop in front of them to give you a notes.
Avoid this place. Wait time is worst 2 hours or so. It will be Christmas before you get checked. Ridiculous time wait.
Slow service but at least they never seem to turn patients away.
This was my first time there and it was the BEST experience I've ever had at a Walk-In Clinic. It was extreamly clean. The doctor was very friendly and personable & made me feel comfortable. The receptionist was helpful, warm & friendly. When I was leaving she even went out of her way to give me well wishes. I highly recommend this clinic.
Horrible place so slow 3h wait.
Went in early this morning. Had my information taken quickly by the woman at the front desk- she was very friendly. Waiting room was clean. Dr. Nainar (I hope I spelled that right!) was very attentive when I described my symptoms to her. She was kind and sympathetic. Overall a good experience, I will go back!
The receptionist was incredibly rude and made me feel like I was an inconvenience for even taking up space in her waiting room. She insinuated that I was making up my concerns, and honestly needs some sort of sensitivity training. Her words made my experience so much worse, and she should feel ashamed if that is how she makes people who are just seeking medical help. Update: it's been 5 years and this is still the worst experience I've ever had with a medical clinic. It's become one of those memories that pops into your mind when you're trying to fall asleep at 3am. Avoid this place like the plague
Was at the clinic for over 2 hours... Was told the doctor is great but thorough therefore very slow. Not coming to this clinic ever again because it's slower than any clinic in the city I've been to!
Dr. Chan was an absolute delight. She was quick and presise made me feel comfortable moving forward. Wait time was not long at all. Staff at desk are very helpful and pleasant. Very personable, they new people by name as they walked in and everyone was always greated with a smile. Will go here everytime i need anything.
Supposed to open at 10. Got there at 10. Waited until 1015 and no staff showed up. Had to go elsewhere.
Always a good experience here, been going for many years. I was on the streets in hamilton for a long time, and have been helped countless times with notes at no extra charge, as well as the standard medical help. Despite my disgruntled appearance, they have always treated me with civility, even when hard pressed by the rush of moronic students faking illness, that clog their practice. One receptionist, Jeanette has a smile, that is medicine , in and of itself. she treats even a bedraggled street rat like myself with a simple casual kindness, that is more valuable than you can know, to someone who is was my position. She spends a large portion of her most precious resource, her time, and therefore life, serving her community without regard for status or appearance. There is no judgment in her, those who treat her well, she treats well. she deserves something that a simple raise could never buy. Gratitude, Respect, and kindness. I'm crying a little now, so please forgive any typos. If you see her, give her a smile, and find a little healing that money can't buy. Sincerely, -Quin, (that kid with the bug bites.)
Honestly if I could give this clinic 0 stars I would. It’s ridiculous to have to wait for over 2 hours to see a doctor. You wait for almost an hour and a half then another half an hour in the room. Every single time I come here the wait time is ridiculous. In a high volume clinic like this I would suggest having more doctors. Or if they are going to have such long wait times then they should invest in offering the ability to book your spot at the clinic online. I don’t understand what takes so long when there was only 3-4 people in the waiting room when I arrived. If you’re planning to come to this walk in clinic, plan to make a night out of it. If you plan on dropping it and then carrying on with your night an hour later, don’t even waste your time.
I got there on Sat and the card paying machine was not working and I did not have cash wish me. I went back on Sunday and there was a close sign on the door before 5 pm (4.45) and no new patient was accepted while their schedule is until 6 pm on Sundays.
Useleass doctors and too much wait time I don't know what is doctor doing may be he is dancing in the room or playing in laptop, in my life this is first time I visite like this type of medical facility. I inform of all of you if possible don't come to this clinic. I am surprise with doctor what he is doing I am waiting more then 3 hours in clinics.
Very nice staff. Pretty clean. Long wait times.
Urgent care told me to see a doctor if my concussion sympoms continued after a few days. I went here since my family doctor was closed on a Saturday. The receptionist was nice, long wait time though. Once I got to see a doctor he told me "I can't imagine you getting a concussion from that. It's such a broad diagnosis. People hit their head all the time. Take a tylenol". I went home and laid in bed in pain for 20 hours. On monday I went to my family doctor and she told me to stay off work for a week.
There should be an option for zero stars. After waiting 15 minutes at the front desk someone finally appeared. Then had to wait 2 hours while 6 people who came in after me were called up. I finally said something to the "nurse" and she laughed and said she forgot about me and asked why I didn't say something sooner. I proceeded to point out the large sign they have that reads 'dont ask the nurse any questions about when you will be seen she is busy we have not forgotten about you.' she laughed again, then put me in a room that she cleaned once I was in it. Then taking my blood pressure she smacked me in the face with the cuff. The doctor's are good here but damn the "nurses" really need to pull it together especially since they are the first point of contact. Horrible service
I’m honestly shocked by the incompetence. This clinic was recommended to me for my specific issue when I called Hamilton Public Health to inquire about where to go, but I had the worst experience I’ve ever had with a health professional in my life. The first time I visited seemed okay, the issue I had required a test. The clinic called me a few days later and said they mishandled my test and accidentally lost or ruined it, so I had to come back for a second test. When I came back for a second test, everyone at the clinic acted like they had amnesia and nobody knew why I was there even though THEY called ME. When I saw a doctor, she refused to do a second test and acted like it was unnecessary, once again, even though THEY called ME for the test. Then she went on to tell me super dangerous misinformation about my issue. When I tried to tell the doctor that I didn’t think the information was right, she suggested we just “Google it” together right there in the office instead of doing the test they called me for, and just look at pictures instead of examining my actual issue. I’m not joking. I was so shocked, as you can imagine by this point my heart was racing and I got really upset. I said something along the lines of, “Excuse me aren’t you the doctor here? I could just Google my problem at home.” The doctor then treated me like I was some dangerous, irate crazy person, acted like I was 10x more upset than I actually was, and basically said calm down or leave. I have never been treated like this by a health professional, ever. I was so humiliated I literally ran out of there in tears. They treated me like this after THEY CALLED ME AND ASKED ME TO COME IN. For your own health and safety please don’t go here. Be very very cautious about anything they tell you. Get a second opinion. Don’t let them treat you like you’re just being crazy. **update - I have since gotten a second opinion by calling Hamilton Public Health, and they confirmed that the information I was given at Dundurn Medical Centre was false. Something like an old wives tale with no scientific basis. Like I said, please be very cautious about what you’re told by doctors here.
Almost two hours waiting.... you come first doesn't mean they will let you in first....I will definitely give a 0 star if I could....
My family and I have always been welcomed and provided efficient service. Nearly zero waiting-time on all visits, doctors ultimately acted fairly professional with patient-first attitude. Felt being treated by my family doctor.
I tried to go here but they told me I'd have to pay $40 because I have a BC health card. I went to Locke Street Clinic instead & they were great.
thought this place would be convenient as its close to my school, its GOD AWFUL. refrain at all costs from coming here, its not worth your time. i was charged an insane amount for a TB skin test, which is provided free from many doctors. I've also been waiting in this room alone for the past half an hour, dont know what any of their staff is doing.
Doesn't help at all. 4 visits in 2 years, not even single time helps.
Terrible service. Came in with excruciating pain from a broken tooth/ abscess. Wait time was astronomical. Young doctor with purple hair came in looked at it..and told me to take naproxen. What a joke. I should have gone to pharmacist and probably got better attention.
For the most part a nice place. The doctors know what they're doing and are super friendly. The staff, however, lack in some knowledge and are quite confused (also hard to understand). Make sure you ASK QUESTIONS unless they might lead you in the wrong direction. The wait time is also quite long but this centre is much better than other places.
Horrible!! Receptionists are rude Not recommended at all
Professional & knowledgeable. Great medical care and helpful staff.
CAUTION! The receptionist was unbelievably rude. Then some manager came and made things so horrible. I could not believe how bad there service is. We need people in healthcare that care for people and want to help. Not be so rude and make you feel worse. I would never want anyone to through what i did. Made me feel so bad. I would rather wait 4 hours in an emergency hospital then ever return to a nightmare of a place such as this.
Dr Bullock is extremely arrogant and dismissive and condescending. He should be removed of his liscence due to an inability to take in information outside of his narrow view The secretary staff don't leave notes so you have to regive all the information. I was told to "call back on a weekday". Was told they don't care about the inconvenience. Then I was hung up on mid sentence. They don't care
Great staff
They need to update proper hours, I took this picture at 20:17 , They were closed
If I could give it a 0 I would. Horrendous service.
Will not return. Got misdiagnosed by two different doctors at this location
Terrible. Horrible. Poor quality care. Find another clinic ASAP
This walk-in clinic does not believe in customer service. The worst experience ever.
Rude people. Horrible experience from start to finish. Never going back.
I can only comment about Dr. Hadcock and it boils down to I have nothing but positive things to say. He has a great disposition, is genuinely compassionate and loves his patients. I have been seeing him for many years and have never felt rushed or ignored. As for wait times more often than not I have left his office minutes before my actual appointment time. But in this kind of business, waiting comes with the territory.
So slow
After waiting 2 hours to finally see a doctor i am prescribed a medicine that had been discontinued. A doctor should surely know if they still make an exzema cream. Waste of time.
Kind Doctor whom works extended hours, which is always convenient. These people try and are here to help us. I haven't any complaints. Helps me with any issues properly and professionally
What joke hours posted say 9pm but the stop at 8:30 then post only open till last tike you take, waste of a 30 min walk here
If I could give a zero rating. I totally would. Terrible experience here. Avoid it if you can.
This place is completely disorganized
Here's a quick tip for this place. Multiply the given wait time by 8. For instance, if they say it's about a 15 minute wait, it's actually 120 minutes. And that is only the wait time to get into a room. Once you're in a room, you'll be waiting for roughly an eternity. And then when the Dr finally makes it to you, you have a 30% chance that they are competent. Only reason to come here is that you're the rare breed who likes to twiddle your thumbs. Avoid avoid avoid.
I've been reading the reviews and thought I should write my experience down. I have been to this clinic several times over the years and have always had a good experience. Yes, sometimes the staff is exhausted and that can maybe come off as rude, but they have been working long hours and dealing with sick people all day, they are people too. The doctors I have seen have always been professional and do what they believe to be right. They also are tired, over worked and under staffed. Today I called with an embarrassing question and the receptionist couldn't have been lovelier. She put my mind at ease, told me which day I should come in to make sure I got a doctor who had experience with my issue. She genuinely made feel so much better just by communicating her concern and understanding. I know clinics can be hot or miss, but this one has always been very good to me and I recommend it to others all the time.
Showed up 40 mins before closing and they wouldn't accept me in spite of their voice mail saying they cut off 30 mins before closing. Big waste of time.
Receptionist is very kind and welcoming. The doctor was really great and very helpful.
I would give 0 /5 After all the doctors i have went to in Hamilton East have been not so good with me. I tried back at this place on the other side of town . I have been there at the DUNDURN MEDICAL last year decided to come back. What such a horrible experience this round in 2017. The reception was not good with dealing with situations. After she recieved a phone call from a patient she calls someone on the phone to discuss what just happened. Not sure if it was a friend which that shouldn't be allowed to discuss whatever patients say in a doctor office.Or a reception help line which she should have went in the back or another room too have the conversation. Noone in the waiting room has to hear that she is about to cry. After sitting in the waiting room for about 45 mins she calls my name, asks me my address, telephone number , then says I need a next number or email address. I'm not from hamilton so I have no other friends here just moved here a few months ago. & email address I do not have (until now I just made to write this review & many more). She says she has to call someone too see if she can get a doctor too see me. So overwhelming for me someone who is in alot of pain already waited 45 mins to see a doctor. What did I have to do after that wait another 45 mins . No I had too just leave.. oh did I mention they have a DOG in the doctors office !!!!!! A man brand and drop off a dog. The dog is behind the reception desk laying on a DOG BED !!! Small dog or not .. Has LONG hair I have allergies too DOGS ! They didn't seem too care to ask when I first got there if I had any allergies or what was my reason too be there .
Terrible doctor here. Shamelessly pushing vaccine sales without properly assessing actual illness. There are many anti-viral drugs available and I was told that they don't exist. I went elsewhere and got exactly what was needed!
Horrible. I did not get to see the doctor. Wait time was 3 hours. Poor quality front desk .........................
My husband stood at the counter for 10 minutes, and was not acknowledged. Pathetic service.
Doesn’t help anything
Have been there a few times, and the service has ranged from acceptable to excellent. The receptionist has, when I asked for help, been exceedingly helpful and explained my options are, and the doctors have been considerate and empathic.
Was kept waiting about a half hour after being checked into one of the rooms. I'd already been in the waiting room for twenty minutes before this. I left to get the doctor's attention and he said he must have gone in the wrong order. Everyone that came in while I was sitting and waited had already been taken care of. On top of that the doctor also commented that he'd be working if he had my cold and was very awkward and unprofessional about signing the doctors note. I've never had a doctor grill me for a note before, let alone when they've already seen I'm legitimately sick. Overall, though only one experience of this place, its by far the worst I've had at any doctor's clinic.
Took a long time but I was seen and the issue was addressed politely and efficiently. Great experience overall.
The worst walk in clinic ever. On a completely dead slow day i had to wait 1 hour to see a doctor when there was no one in the waiting room or patient rooms.. after explaining my situation to the doctor and how it's causing depression/sleep deprivation, he said i have to deal with it. He couldn't write me a doctors note because he didn't believe i was having a lot of issues. You know it's a great doc when they don't believe you or care enough to talk further.
Had good experience with both doctors working there
This clinic personnel should re-attend medical ethics class !
Doctor did a thorough examination, asked multiple questions. True professional.
First of all the place is really dirty especially the rooms. the doctor is very unprofessional and rude. He doesn’t listen to his patient concerns and symptoms. Doesn’t know what he is doing and has dry little knowledge when it comes to the medical field. This doctor is way too old and should retire. It really hurts to see patients leaving without any treatments regarding their symptoms and the issues they’re facing. We are taking time out of our lives to see a doctor and the doctor should listen and make sure the patient leaves happy and content. This is honestly the worst clinic I’ve been to. I really hope this helped anyone who wants to see a doctor. Just see a different one. I do not recommend this doctor at all. Trust me I went to this doctor and he was just really bad.
Unprofessional receptionist & no customer service skills. This particular doctor was rude and left me with no medication for my rash on my face. Will never go back. Find more health care workers that actually care and have a heart.
They make you say the reason of your visit out loud! There is no patient privacy; the receptionist lady asked me to say what brought me there today specifically.
