Friendly and knowledgeable, with extremely reasonable pricing. I'll be taking my dog here from now on.
Our dog, Carl, was very ill when we took him in to see Dr. Scott. We had been in before with our other dog as well as carl and Dr.Scott was always very good with them. This time, Carl was very ill and Dr. Scott examined him continuously looking for symptoms so that he could determine what was wrong. He was very calm and approached the issue from all sides and came to a conclusion based on preliminary blood tests etc that indicated Carl may have had Lepso which could permanently damage his kidneys. he put him on an IV with heavy medication and took more blood and urine to confirm his suspicions on Friday. he sent us home with medications to eliminate the problems and asked us to call on Monday to get the results. it was in fact Lepso and if we had not taken him in when we did, carl would have had a poor quality of life or may have died. Dr. Scott followed up again on Tuesday and gave Carl an appetite supplement to get him eating again as well as checking his blood for signs of improvement. Carl has improved considerable, has an appetite back again and is functioning well thanx to Dr.Scott He is a great vet with a very kind heart and practical approach to treating our pets. he also took a lot of time to explain what he was doing and why as well as what to expect and really cared for our Carl. Thank you for saving our little friend
Very friendly and professional clinic. They don't try to sell you ok things you don't need. Thank you for all your help.
Fantastic clinic. Very caring. Great at answering questions. Not pushy. Affordable.
My roommate and I got two kittens a few weeks ago and took them here last week for their first vet visit. The vet was amazing. Answered all of our questions and didn’t rush our visit at all. He was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make sure the kittens felt comfortable during the time there. Definitely going to be going here for all of their future visits.
Great place
Dr. Gardiner is terrific. Very patient, very knowledgeable, takes his time with your pet and offers diagnoses that are easy to understand.
Amazing vet that goes above and beyond. Excellent service and fairly priced. My dogs are always excited to go see "Dr. Scott". ????
Clean facility, caring staff
Great experience overall! It was easy to make an appointment, and Dr. Gardiner and Julie took care of my kitty cat really well. Reasonable prices too. Thank you!
They are really great with my dogs they really do care about animals and their wellbeing. And they always update and remind you of upcoming shots and visits.
Scott has saved me hundreds of dollars numerous times, by sending me home with home remedies and free email checkups to make sure they worked. This place is amazing. Scott and his staff really truly care about your dog, cat, pet in general. He has been our family vet for our three dogs, and two cats for almost 4 years now. Couldn't ask for a better experience.
Called to inquire about the rate to get my dog micro-chipped. The person answering the phone refused to give me a ballpark range of how much it would be to neuter my pet. She gave me other quote prices but said it "went against their policy for quoting over the phone without an evaluation" which I had to pay for. When asked for her name she refused to give me that information. When asked for a manager or someone else to speak with she refused saying she was the only one at the location. If you value customer service do not waste your time here. I've called literally 15 clinics to compare quotes and this is the only one who refused to give me information over the phone. Unimpressed and won't be bringing my puppy here.
I have taken both of my cats to Guelph Lake and have only recieved the best service. Dr. Gardiner helped my one cat get rid of her bladder stones in 3 months. X-rays were needed to show the stones and the diet they put my cat on cleared it up in no time at all. They helped work with my budget as we avoided surgery which they could have easy told me to do. Any other staff members I have spoken with were all very nice, helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend anyone to go to Guelph Lake Veterinary Hospital.
Scott is a great veterinarian. The staff are very friendly, and easily accessible
Danielle and Dr Scott are the best! We're so happy selecting Guelph Lake Vet. They are extremely accommodating and professional. Great veterinarian service.
Took care of my fur baby like he was family!
Dr. Gardiner is knowledgeable, friendly, and animal welfare seems to be his first priority, while at the same time being very considerate of costs to the owner.
Always feel good taking my dog there!! excellent doctors, particularly Dr Scott !! A true gentle human being !!!
Always fantastic care and service from Dr. Scott and his brilliant staff. Another successful visit for Milo today.
Offers excellent, high quality, service. The vet is knowledgeable, cares about your pets, and will work with you to come up with the best solution for you and your furry friend. I've called them many a time with issues or emailed them as well as going in for appointments. Good prices.
Guelph Lake Vet Hos: Cat Spay/Neutering is $567, plus $239 for shots = $806 plus tax SPCA: The EXACT same treatment = $85 plus tax Criminals.
Excellent vet. Knowledgeable, friendly, and fair. Takes great care of our family.
Living down the Speed River trail we walk up regularly to meet the Guelph Lake trail and then on up into the conservation area. To think you can live in a city and still have access to a huge trail system, taking a left to walk in the evening to the city for a beer or a coffee or right to an amazing Lake conservation area. The co servation area has many trails and sub trails for walking and biking. The lake itself is beautiful and trails are at the lakeshore for a lot of it. There is camping facilities, beach facilities, wood trails and water trails. A resource allowing a quick walk, a day hike or a weekend camping. Wow.
Dr. Gardiner is an outstanding vet. He has treated a number of our cats and he and the other vets provide exceptional service and support. What is particularly gratifying - the entire team places the animal's welfare and health as the primary concern. The veterinary team takes the time to explain carefully and fully every aspect of the treatment or examination. I am delighted to have found a veterinary team that is so caring to ensure the health of our furry companions. We will continue to bring all of our cats to the clinic for the exceptional care.
Dr. Scott has be awesome with all our animals. We have had a difficult situation due to another vet and Dr. Scott treated it very professionally.
Dr. Scott and the team at Guelph Lake Vet are INCREDIBLE. This has been my family vet for approximately 5 years. They supported my 8 yr old German Shepherd cross rescue through a number of health issues, until his recent passing away due to a rare health condition. Dr. Scott is very informative and carefully considers the details when making a diagnosis. I've always felt as though he prioritized my dog's care and quality of life. Dr. Scott offered multiple options to consider as the most effective treatment, along with the costs associated so that as the client, I could make the best and most informed decision for my dog. I've greatly appreciated the level of detail he considers and how he continues to process and think about a patient/case, even after the appointment is over. I trust Dr. Scott and his judgement. There were times when he advocated and supported my dog's health needs, outside of our appointment time. When there were urgencies during business hours, he always found time to see my dog. When there were food shortages, he made sure to support us in finding alternative solutions. He also was never shy to provide an excellent referral when he felt there would be a better option available (again considering my dog's needs first). From these experiences, I felt he genuinely cared about my dog's health. I never ever felt like my emotions/anxieties regarding my dog's health were taken advantage of and he always took the extra time to fully explain what was taking place and what to expect next, so that I could fully understand my dog's needs. I live over an hour away and still will continue to use him as my vet. His expertise and compassion is totally worth the extra gas and distance. If you are looking for a (new) vet, I highly recommend becoming a client.
Dr. Gardiner and his team have taken excellent care of our Daisy for the 5+ years since she came into our lives. They are patient, always willing to answer all of our questions and offer options for Daisy's needs.
Dr. Scott and staff cared for my lab Jackson for his 13 1/2 years with knowledge and compassion. We had total trust in his care and advice. We would certainly recommend GLV or Woodlawn Vet for your pets care. 5 stars!! .
I had an appointment with the vet last week for a physical on my 7year old Maltese Poodle at Royal City Animal Hospital. The vet did an eye check and informed us he has cataracts. The vet referred us to a Opthalmolgist for $330.00 dollar bill on top of the other vet bills that day. Hearing this news stressed and saddened us as animal lovers should. I figured I would get a second opinion and took my dog to Guelph Lake Veterinary Hospital. I thought since my dog is to young to get cataracts. Might be something else like diabetes causing the cataracts if he does have them. The vet (Scott) did the tests required to find out if he has diabetes or cataracts. The results came back negative for both tests. We we're so relieved. I would highly recommend Royal City Guelph Lake Veterinary Hospital to take your pets for veterinarian problems or concerns.
Dr. Gardiner has been the best vet we have found in the area. We have been bringing our border terrier to see him since we got him as a puppy. Our puppy has been relatively healthy, but was able to provide solutions and work with us when our little guy had an ongoing case of diahrrea and vomitting. He provided consults to help us determine our next steps, and we have seen a great improvement. I have found other vets in the past jump right to doing the most expensive tests or exams that cost a fortune but Dr. Gardiner looks at trying all possible solutions first before doing so. I find he gives truthful and realistic recommendations each time with our puppy's best interest in mind. I highly recommend bringing your pet to Guelph Lake Veterinary Hospital.
Very friendly staff and very knowledgeable. It isn't really expensive very reasonable prices.
I brought my dog here last week for a cough and paid for an initial exam. She was prescribed antibiotics. I was told to let them know if she doesn't get better. After a week once her pills were completed I called back since she was still coughing. I was told that I should bring her back in for a followup exam. I was expected to pay another fee for this exam. I'm shocked that they would not take ownership of the initial diagnosis. It's unfortunate.
Cannot say enough good things about Dr. Scott and his staff! He did very complex surgery on our dog, later helped her leave us in a compassionate way and is now taking great care of our cat who had the misfortune of colliding with a car. He knows his stuff; he truly cares about our pets; he ensures we understand all of our options so we can make an educated decision and a really nice person! I would not consider going anywhere else!
Scott is very knowledgeable and has a kind of compassion for animals that I wish all vets would have. There have been numerous occasions where he has helped us through email and helped us to save money. We really appreciate his care and concern and have highly recommended him to anyone seeking a vet.
Best vet place ever
Amazing team! Caring, thorough and they really care about your pet!
Best vet in the area. Straightforward discussions about your Animal Care. Warm staff and caring environment
Always quick to respond to calls and emails. Although understaffed, they run it very smoothly. We almost always go in early. Very kind and informative.
Amazing and caring vet and staff. I know my cats are in great hands when I bring them there.
Great with my pets and friendly staff
Dr. Scott Gardner and his staff are amazing people and you couldn't ask for a better team to take care of your four legged family members. Our dogs and cat have received wonderful, compassionate care and we would never consider going anywhere else.
Unprofessional, ignorant, their pricing is through the roof. Takes advantage of price gauging. Dont go here if you want stress.
FYI When I called and said I was new to the neighbourhood looking for a vet they said they weren’t taking new patients.
Great vet and vet techs
Read the consistent reviews. One star reviews are from people who can never be pleased. Dr Gardener & Staff are kind, patient and very knowledgeable. Have been dealing with GLVH since they opened, I have never had a bad experience. They are responsive to questions and genuinely care about animals. Thank you Scott & Carolina for doing a great job in our community.
