Update: I was banned from this place for posting this review and cancelling an appointment last week (which I let them know about the cancellation) due to my husband not being able to babysit our newborn (that I also told the lady who called to confirm an appointment). Don't know what to say :D It's the first time I ever hear that you can be declined from service because of your opinion on social media :D Honestly wanted to put 1 star because of the incident that happened with us today, but never had other than that problem with them before. We were their clients for over 3 years and never missed our appointment or being late. I scheduled appointment for today at 9am for 2 of my boys and it happened that it was quite rough morning (we have a baby who did not want to cooperate with us plus some other stuff happened in the morning). Anyways I called them at 9 explaining that we will be late on 10 mins. We arrived at 9.13am and guess what, we were told that we were supposed to come over at 9 (thank you I am aware of that) and they cannot take us as all appoints would be moved. Now that's what bugs me with that customer service. 1. we had 2 appoints booked! How so they could not take at least 1 of the kids?! 2. Why they did not tell me over the phone that if we are running late, just to reschedule over the phone! 3. Nbd even asked us to reschedule when we actually showed up! Very disappointed and you, guys, lost our business

She was awesome, if we looked at it, she said you should try it. We got to try on as much as we wanted and ended up buying more than one pair! They had a good selection of glasses and also had their sunglasses on sale!

The customer service is always phenomenal and out of this world! I have zero complaints when it comes to staff and operations. Dr. Chrenek was very knowledgeable, funny, and listened to all my concerns. I felt 'heard,' and that was great. Also, my optician, Joanna, was one of THE MOST personable and kindest sales reps I have ever come across. Gold stars all around! I DO wish the product line was a bit more broad. I haven't been happy with the selection of frames the past few years. I keep ending up either settling for frames I'm not crazy about or reusing old pairs. I just want some black framed rectangles! But that's okay. The customer service alone will always keep me going back here and recommending this place to friends and family.

I just had my eye exam again at Aurora eye care and I have to say it is always the best experience!! Everyone was so friendly when I walked in. I went to the optical after my visit with the doctor and the optician spent some time with me, picking out a fantastic new pair of glasses. Definitely the best selection of unique frames in GP. I can’t wait till they are ready!

I went for my First Eye Exam and did my exam using there two machines and my eye exam passed good,so i wanted prescription sunglasses which i go to pick up after Two weeks and the very first day i put on i found there was something wrong with my right eye lens was not able to drive properly and was started having headache. They told me its something like 2.0 lens on my right eye but i told them that i got rechecked it was there machine which was not calibrated properly because of which my first exam showed something wrong with my right eye but on other machine it was checked again and was found nothing wrong and it happened same day. I was told that they cant do anything they can just refund 136$ to my insurance,i returned them lenses which were not good at all to my eyes and i was given my frame and lens off the shelf which costed $165 from insurance + $240 from my pocket and there $145 fee for eye checkup which was not done correctly by them and i paid for it. Ended up paying $530 for $230 sunglasses. It was your machine not being calibrated properly and i ended up wasting my insurance and my money $500 from my side. Will make sure none of my co-worker visit there and my friends.

I just moved here and needed new glasses! I really really enjoyed my experience from beginning to end. The service desk was so helpful, Kind, and efficient. They were able to process my insurance no problem. They have a coffee and tea station to indulge in while your waiting. The place is very beautiful when walking in, I was surprised at the size. I love the huge variety of frames to choose from, I have been wearing glasses for over 25 years and this place really impressed me. The optometrist was very friendly and personable, he made it very comforting and enjoyable experience. They really made an effort to help me find the best frame for my face Shape, I felt like I was shopping with a friend! They took the time explain my lenses to me, and made sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. My glasses were ready the very next day and I received them with a lens spray, extra cleaning cloth, and some chocolate! I would 100% recommend this place to anyone in need of eye care. I couldn’t stop raving about my experience to my fiancé and friends at work lol! Great work!

I've done adult vision therapy with them and it was extremely informative and helpful in addressing a condition I've had for years. We've also had several eye appointments and will continue bringing our young family into Aurora.

If I could give 0 I would. I bought an expensive pair of glasses at this establishment. I had an eye exam, got the frames and some time later I finally had my glasses that I worked so hard to pay off. When I initially tried them on, things were still fuzzy. I was told that was because I would need to get use to them. I wore them for six weeks with no luck and went back in. They told me that maybe my prescription changed and to have a new exam. So I did another exam. Paid for the new lenses and waited some time again and tried them on. Again it was still blurry but was told to take some time to get use to them. So I got a copy of the prescription and went on my way. They still were not correct. They had put my old prescription back in. They would not correct it and wanted me to pay EVEN MORE to get them fixed properly. When I gave them the prescription, the lady at the front desk never gave it to the manager. So they didn't put the right one in. They never made any notes or kept the prescription on file. They said it was correct ( old prescription) and would not do it without me paying for a third time. When I spoke with the manager and staff, they were rude and did not care to try and help me at all. I left this establishment in tears multiple times. Do not go here. It is a joke of a place. I had went to FYI who had no problem fixing their mistakes with NO COST to me even though the glasses and lenses were not purchased through them. Don't waste your money or support Aurora.

Amazing service here! I lost a lense screw and my lense kept popping out, so I stopped in randomly and asked if they could fix it. They didn't even ask me if I was an existing customer (I bought my glasses here a year prior), they just took them, replaced the screw with a better-than-stock screw, CLEANED them for me and even tightened up the loose screws on the arms, too. I asked them how much I owed and they said absolutely nothing and wished me a great day. Cannot recommend their services and products enough.

All the staff i seen were friendly and helpful. Doctor i seen was friendly and definitely good at what he does. He noticed i had a clogged oil duct and fixed it on the spot. Noticed i have dry eyes from gaming and recommended i use non medicated eye drops. And that i needed less prescription on my lenses

The service I received at Aurora Eye Care was top notch. At my eye appointment I complained of frequent headaches and was asked if I spend a lot of time in front of a computer screen, which I do. The eye doctor recommended lenses designed for use with digital screens. Since I have been wearing the lenses my headaches have disappeared and I'm much more productive as a result.

My wife dropped her priscription sunglasses on the ground almost a year after she purchased them and she scratched them. Went to Aurora (not the place that she purchased them in the first place) and they were able to get her file from the other place in Grande Prairie and sent them in to Maui Jim and they replaced the lens no questions asked! They took care of everything, all my wife had to do was sign a form and they took care of the rest! I would highly recommend this place!

I have only great things to say about this business! As an eye hypochondriac, I have been very grateful to get appointments quickly and be thoroughly assessed by their great eye care team. I love my most recent pair of glasses from them. The pleasant lady that helped me select them made choosing glasses much easier than I’ve ever had before. (I prefer glasses with nose pads but liked a certain style of frame which doesn’t usually have nose pads, she walked around the store and brought everything that suited the style with my necessary requirements, and a few that were similar and I ended up going with one she recommended). In a week and a half, I got a call saying they were ready. Unfortunately, after wearing them for a couple months, a section of one of the temples started unravelling. I brought them back and was told it had happened with this model before. They ordered in a new temple and replaced it without any hassle. Their friendly, knowledgeable and timely service will definitely keep me coming back for my future eye care needs.

Sorry - this is kinda long but its' a long story. This review is about 7 months old. Had been coming here since I started needing glasses. Bought 1st pair & broke them 6 months later (wasn't used to having/caring for glasses). Bought another pair. 6 months later, being very sensitive to bright sun/snow conditions I bought a pair of prescription sunglasses. Wore them for some time but the screws that hold arms came loose and couldn't tighten it (screw was cross-threaded from new). They couldn't tighten them so ordered me a new frame. Went in to swap lenses from one frame to other but the girl had trouble and asked if they could keep them 'til next day when a more senior tech would be in. Apparently they heat plastic frames sometimes to get the lenses to go in. Went to pick them up - the frames were all twisted. They took them to the back 4-5-6 times trying to straighten. I finally took them and left knowing they weren't great but had been there long enough and had other things to do. On the way home I realized my vision wasn't as good as it used to be with them. Before they worked on them I had excellent vision with them - better than my other glasses by far. to shorten this - I took them back 3-4 times explaining that my vision wasn't as good and that they were still bent/crooked. They told me that they couldn't have done anything to the lenses but I know what they were like and I know what they are like now. Pretty much un-wearable. I also know what might happen to the plastic lenses if they got too much heat transfer to them or something like that. They also told me that maybe I needed a new eye exam. I know I need a minor prescription adjustment but that is not what the problem is. Basically I read this as 'spend more money and we can fix the problem'. So I have been without sunglasses - which I really need - for a few months. I've tried them a few times but they just aren't any good now. In there somewhere I also bought the wife glasses - before the sunglasses fiasco. Therefore, in about 2 years I spent north of $4500 here and this is how I got treated. It wasn't that the they treated me 'poorly'. I won't be back to this store (certainly wont' recommend them to anyone) unless they resolve this issue which they never did. Guess it'll be of to another store soon.

I've never been offered this brand before but they fit really well and are super comfortable. I will be back.

Today at work I picked up a product and could read the fine print with no issues at all. I can't even explain the feeling of happiness not having to take my glasses off to be able to see close up. I brought my extremely busy toddler and infant in for our check ups and the staff went above and beyond entertaining my toddler so I could have a thorough exam. I appreciated it so much! I find the Drs to be well spoken, address any and all concerns and the extra detail of walking us to the next step, picking out glasses, didn’t escape my attention. Very impressed with the service! Did not know that you could go to your eye doctor for eye issues...they can bill AHC the same as your family doctor. Picked up some new glasses as well with the help of Lindsey and am very happy with them. The custom clip-ons are as though they came from the original manufacturer! very disappointed with this place i schedule a appointment over the phone the first thing i ask if if they direct bill to insurance they told me yes i then go in for my appointment give them my cards they then tell me they don't bill to my insurance company and i would had to pay out of pocket first which at the time i did not have the money so thanks for wasting my time and failing to mention you only direct bill to some insurance company

The doctors go above and beyond, but the same cannot be said for some of the front staff. Over the past few months, I had a few visits to Aurora trying to find the best prescription for me. During this time I was also shopping for new frames as I would be wearing glasses more frequently. I finally found the perfect pair on one of my visits, I packed them with me around the store, I took them into the exam room with me and never let them out of my sight. I told the ladies up front that I loved the frames and was going to buy them but had to wait until we figured out my prescription to put the lenses in. I asked them if I should purchase the frames that day and they said they would put my name on them and hold them for me until my prescription was ready and that I did not need to pay for them that day. I confirmed with them several more times that the frames would be held for me and they assured me that they would be in a drawer waiting for me. I went in today to pay for my frames and have them sent out to have lenses put in, but to my disappointment they told me they sold my frames. They did not call me at any time to see if I still wanted the frames and they knew I would be back as I had a follow-up appointment booked. I was clearly upset and was told that it's not a problem, they will simply order in another pair. So after a call to the supplier, they tell me it could take up to 60 days for my frames to come in. Not a satisfied customer! I would like to add that the doctors perfected my prescription and I am very happy with my vision!

Visit on Halloween morning - costumed staff were fun! Everyone was friendly, attentive, and service was fantastic. Kendra brought me over 20 pairs of glasses to try on so I could pick what I liked the best, and kept a list of others that I liked! Has a good selection, and it was the only place in town that could do direct billing for my benefits, they also have a section of frames and glasses that are 250 and covered completely by my benefits package so I didn't have to pay anything upfront. They also have good hours and are open late on Wednesdays and on Saturdays.

Here is my experience. Found online. Trusted the reviews and visited. Made me feel awesome with an INSANE amount of money. After a few weeks, broke my glasses somehow. So, visited again, paid a lot of money again. Got new pair... and after a few days, i developed headaches, eyes swollen, redness etc. Another discovery, I could not read from the distance I should be able to read. So, I went to them again and stated my problem. The girl who attended me, assured me that its no problem and they are liable for this and offered me an appointment of day after, promising a FREE CHECK UP and NEW GLASSES. I was elated that wow! these are good people. BUT, next day, I am receiving calls stating opposite of what promised. When I said I was promised, they said alright only the free check up. So, i thought will go and check. But when i went in with the technician for the initial check up, she again said that its partial. So, i just walked out of this money ripping clinic thinking if i have to pay again, I will pay somebody genuine. So folks, decide for yourselves!

I was so impressed by the service, knowledge and professionalism of the staff there. After some vision difficulties I decided it was time to see an optometrist. I was made a prompt appointment for the next day which was highly appreciated. After multiple eye health exams and a consultation with the optometrist I had a treatment plan of glasses. I was then assisted one on one with picking out my first pair of glasses! At no time did I feel rushed or confused about what was happening and it made the nerve racking experience of needing glasses for the first time fun. I would highly suggest Aurora to anyone in need of an optometrist, I cannot say enough great things about them.

Absolutely atrocious service! Horrible! I work in the oil field, on my behalf I realize I am responsible for making it to my appointments. This is where my problem is. Anytime I couldn't make it for my contact lens fitting I would phone in the day before to cancel, now to rebook it was usually 4-6 weeks for the next appointment. It never fails that the day before my next appointment I would get called to work. I was told to call in if I had a day off on a tues or thurs because these are the only days they do fittings. I called and by miracle there was an opening, wow! Then they tell me they sent my prescription back! Frig Sac. Clueless bunch I tell you. As I bite my tongue to not freak out.

I can't Express how amazing I actually find the team at Aurora. As someone who dreaded getting glasses, and looked at frames 3 or 4 times elsewhere and given up because I hated the entire process, I never thought I'd enjoy it. Joanna is awesome. She's friendly, and cool, helpful, and personable. I never felt like she wanted to push a specific frame, or anything. Mediated between me and my wife, and actually listened to what we said. (We weren't quite on the same page). Wound up with a pair we both loved. Obvious choice to go back when it was time for my wife to get some. We'll buy all our glasses there.

I went in for my initial eye exam 6 weeks ago. My first pair of glasses, arriving 2 weeks later, were extremely disorienting. They caused so much vertigo I couldn't walk, work, or drive with them, as they made me dizzy to the point of being nauseous. When I returned with the glasses and explained the issues I had, the optician asked if I wanted a refund. I did not. I just didn't want to wear glasses so heavily distorting that they make me physically ill. I am not exaggerating at all. The second pair of lenses were better, in the same sense that being kicked in the face is better than being shot. Everything I viewed through the right lens is dramatically elongated, sloping down and to the right. Imagine staring at a perfect square, and now imagine that viewing the same square through the lenses turns it into a triangle. That is how horrifically misshaped these glasses were. The rim of the frames also popped out of place with an audible pinging noise while sitting on my face, in my friend's living room. I guess these $100 frames weren't intended to withstand the extreme conditions of sitting on a person's face. I experienced headaches for the first 2-3 hours of wearing them, every day. When I returned, after a week, to complain again, the optician I met with insisted that I wear them, every day, for an additional week. I did. The experience did not get better, but worse and the frames kept popping loose. I was asked to attend a re-do of the eye exam, scheduled for this afternoon, to address the possibility that my initial prescription was faulty. I arrived on time for my appointment, punctually early, by 5 minutes and checked in. I waited for 35 minutes, before telling the reception I had had enough waiting. 1.5 months? Fine. But that last half hour wore out the last of my patience. I demanded a refund for my (defective) glasses (for which I paid nearly $600), ceding that I did not expect to be refunded for the eye exam. I was told that I needed to wait until Tuesday to find out IF(!) the Manager would even be magnanimous enough to grant me the gift of not being charged more than half a grand and receiving NOTHING IN RETURN. If I don't get my money back, I'm getting the police involved because at that point, this is clearly robbery. This is the first time I have ever had to leave a negative review for a product or business in more than a decade. Aurora Eye Care has managed to treat me terribly at every turn, and this has been the single worst customer experience I have ever had. Do not shop here. Do not let your friends or family shop here. Spread this review, to warn off other people.

Perhaps the most laughing I've ever done at an eye exam! I saw Dr. Vuong for the first time for a regular check-up, as I couldn't get into my regular eye Dr. (Dr. Giles) for awhile. Dr. Vuong was friendly, enthusiastic, while also thorough and clear in his explanations of my vision issues. You can definitely tell he has a passion for his job. I will go back to see him next time, and would definitely recommend him!

Over the past 2 years i have been to over 20 eye stores to look for eyeglasses. I am very picky with shape, colour etc. Lindsay helped me find a pair that i LOVE. Besides the fact that I took off work and drove an hour and 45 mins to an appt where they decided they can’t help me once I was there..I now have to order and drive here to pick up new glasses every month or so. Hopefully I can in advance at least as I don’t like wearing glasses with half the color off of them. Honestly very disappointed and upset as I feel I wasted my money here in the first place let alone driving here for no reason, some people can’t afford the money or time for that. (This is my second pair of glasses here, made an appointment to look at similar frame because I like my glasses but the entire top of the frame of the pair I have keep chipping and literally falling off even without touching them! They have reordered me entire new pair of them twice now and the last time they only lasted just about a month. I have the warranty for them, and they say the glasses are faulty. But since I’m about 5 months into my warranty they will only keep ordering me new ones of the same glasses. And now my only option is to keep reordering new ones, assuming every month or so as I cannot afford an entire new pair as these ones were already super expensive for me.)

My husband & I saw Dr. Vuong for our regular eye exam. He must be the happiest optometrist ever! It shows he truly loves his work, so friendly, cheerful, thorough, like another review said, haven't laughed so much during an exam before! He was truly a delight! And then we met with Linda to get our glasses figured out. She was also kind, very patient, friendly, knew her stuff. The whole experience at Aurora was so positive, it actually made our day! We left happy, almost excited about the experience & will always go to Aurora for our eye care needs. We had strayed from them once before just to see what a different place (FYI) was like & it was a horrible mistake! I ended up back at Aurora for glasses at the end of it. Always go Aurora!!! You will be treated well!!! (Plus they give chocolate...need I say more?)

I truly believe in supporting local businesses. And not just local shops - business's who also support the community - a place where the profits stay in our local economy - and who use local. Aurora checks those boxes, from supporting HiTech Business Systems and POS West, local sports teams, etc. And above this - they have excellent staff. From the moment I walked in - I felt welcomed. I was given a tray to pick some frames I would like, well I had nothing by the time I was half way around the store, BUT the staff member had a tray full - she said I wanted you to pick, but I know these ones would work - and they did. It was hard to pick just one. Then came the exam, for me it's always somewhat depressing - like a test you know you are going to fail, but I was surprisingly comfortable - the pre- screening person was very friendly and the doctor was very kind and knowledgeable - taking time to explain what I may need, and giving me options. I have been supporting this company for years and have it only gets better --- I will also say the selection in frames has improved with more modern, colorful, fun and stylish choices. So would I recommended - you bet - I am a walking advertisement. Gold Star!
