I passed through Canada with a puppy that got sick. Closest vet clinic was Rivers Vet and I’m so thankful it was. The staff was very attentive and got my puppy right in when they opened and got me back on the road ASAP. In my opinion Fort St John is lucky to have a vet clinic like this one. Me and my puppy are home and he’s well and we’re both extremely thankful and happy.

Dr. Chapman & the team from Rivers Animal Hospital is absolutely FANTASTIC! I’m from Dawson Creek & they managed to squeeze my very elderly kitty in with no notice at all! My cat has always been scared of the vet, but she came out today so beyond calm and content! Pricing is also very affordable! I really like this place, they're consistently nice and clearly care about the animals that are brought in. The vet called me back to check how my kitty was doing after being put on antibiotics and asked about him again when I brought in one of my other kitties. They're also very clear in explaining what your options are and how you should go forward.

I do not recommend going to this vet clinic. Our vet for 15.5 years. Lack of proper treatment, diagnosis, and truthfulness as lead me to lose all trust in this vet clinic. To see my beloved dog suffer in pain after so many visits for treatment forced my decision to see another vet that informed us of grim news on the health of our fur baby. (Olivia, our female Maltese dog passed away October 29, 2020) Outside appearance is not what you require in a vet. Genuine care, concern, and love of the animal patient and human parents are what matters. At one time this vet was a good vet. Things have changed dramatically. May God lead you elsewhere for the care of your family member.

Phoned at approx 5:52 pm coming through Charlie Lake towards town. Working out if town makes it extremely difficult it get here before their open hours. Needed vet specific dog food and would be there shortly. They would not stay around any longer than 6:00 pm. Extremely disappointed that wouldn't wait possibly another minute or two even after I phoned. Had to then rush as quickly as possible because they couldn't be bother to work with me.

If you want to end up paying double what you should then go to rivers where they rob you blind. Long story short they completely ignored my main concern that I came in with, ended up treating something else completely ignoring what I came in for which had noe gotten worse now im having to pay way more then I should have because theh charge you a full exam fee for absolutely nothing

They even called me after hours at 5:30 pm to be sure I was taken care of! Rivers is awesome. We've used them for all our pets and they've always been amazing. Today I took my kitty in for a bigger procedure and they were incredibly kind. I called first thing thismorning and they fit me in immediately, while I was there the vet came to speak to me about the procedure and what to expect, and explaining chances of success and failure. He was extremely nice and made sure to keep things very factual and walked me through the details very carefully. Every staff member was so kind and compassionate even when I was full on ugly crying toddler style right in the office. They checked in with me as soon as they could and filled me in on how my kitty was doing which was awesome. I can honestly say they definitely care about every animal and customer that comes through and are the best vet clinic I've ever been to. I highly recommend Rivers to anyone.

I am so unbelievably happy with this veterinarian and clinic!! I cannot praise them enough for what they have done for my beloved dog.... She has been so sick and in terrible pain for months..On Monday I brought her to Rivers to have surgery. Well..it went very very well and Literally the next morning the twinkle was back in her eyes and she was back to the same playful pooch she was 2 months ago! She still needs to recover but she is acting like the surgery never happened..its amazing! I am so grateful for the wonderful people that saved my best friends life! This is our new clinic for all of our animals and I will highly recommend it to anyone that doesn't already have a great vet!

Very Clean, Friendly environment. So happy they were able to help us! Justin is amazing at what he does. I had to bring my 8 year old chihuahua to them to have her stitched up after an unfortunate event. I live 4 hours from Fort St John and they worked with me even though its a long weekend and stayed in touch along the way.

Very disappointed with the level of care and service at this clinic. My cat was very ill and they discharged him from their care because they did not have a Doctor from Saturday evening until Wednesday. They made absolutely no transitional provisions for care (to another Doctor or Clinic in FSJ). I had to scramble to find another Vet because my cat was deteriorating quickly upon taking him home. Luckily I called North Peace Vet Services and have not looked back since.

A month ago I lost my puppy. She had hit her head and had brain swelling, we rushed her in and I was told she’d have to spend the day there and we had to leave. They said they would call me throughout the day with updates, over an hour had went by and I was wondering how she was doing so I called, they said was that she was stable and that they’d call me with updates. About 3 or 4 hours went by and I still hadn’t received a call so I called again, all they said was that the vets were busy and they’d give me a call when they could. Another hour and a half went by and they finally had called back- to tell me that my puppy did not make it. I was super upset that they never called once to tell me how she was doing, especially when she started to take a turn for the worse. I would have loved to know so I could go in and at least be there for her last moments.
