I normally enjoy Dr. Mitchell and his staff but today and one other previous time he has made me feel horrible for taking up his time. I’m a foster parent and when a child comes into care we must have them assessed within 7 days. Many of them do not have a family doctor. Even if they did, it is often difficult to get an appointment within that time. My only other options are walk in clinics or a hospital. I understand for kids that have on going issues that a family doctor should be involved. Dr Mitchell cannot refer to other doctors. He seems fed up with Facs and foster parents attending his office. He sort of took it out on me with my foster child present and expects me to relay the message to Facs. He definitely has a lack of empathy for my child who is going through enough as it is and myself and left me very upset and in tears. I use to recommend his services even though at times the clinic would close early. I felt so bad after today that I will not return. I do find his demeanour has change this past 2 years. I do love his daughter the receptionist she is the best and very sweet. This is very bitter sweet. Maybe Dr Mitchell will get to read this and self reflect.

Dr. Mitchell is incredible. He's a master of all trades when it comes to medicine. When we can't get into our pediatricians office. Mitchell is by far the best and most trust worthy doctor in any other Walk in, or urgent care for that matter, in the Niagara Region. Especially great with infants. Caring, professional and a great "bed side matter" he answers all questions, and doesn't rush yet still keeps the line moving well. Although recently it appears the pot heads are being prioritized. Sitting waiting for 2 hours and seeing someone that needs a weed refill walking rigjt in is infuriating. Pick a day of the week for the pot heads so your sick patients aren't waiting over 2 hours to see you.

I met Dr Mitchell about 1 year ago for pain management for chronic back pain. Today I'm 6 weeks post op spinal fusion. After 1 week on opioid's prescribed by my surgeon I used medical marijuana, primarily CBD oil to manage my pain effectively. It works! I highly recommend it's use.

Office staff are friendly and efficient. Dr. Mitchell puts you at ease and is extremely prompt. He cares about you and ensures that you get in to see him quickly. Too bad he doesn't have a practice as we would sign up to have him for our doctor in a flash.

I have had Dr. Hugh Mitchell for years while waiting for a decent family doctor to take me on....... He is one of the kindest, compassionate, understanding, problem solving doctors with a heart????. He's a wonderful human being! The family practice: His daughter as receptionist and his ex wife handles paperwork beside her as Dr Hugh battles thru life's daily challenges with people's issues! I just wish he was a family doctor! But I did indeed find myself a great famy doctor: Dr. Nicholas Marchi, WHO I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT HIM! God blessed me being involved with two wonderful doctors! SO IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A WALK IN CLINIC.... DR HUGE MITCHELL IS THE BEST!!!!!!

Never open according to website schedule. Example today says open until 5 and 4 cars just pulled in and out because the doors are locked and the office is closed.

I am a Foster Parent and visit Dr. Mitchell with my kids all the time. I have never in fifteen years ever found him less than the best! He is kind, caring and always professional. He is a walk in clinic therefore he is limited to what services he can offer! We all love and appriciate him!!!! Please don’t let the comment of one foster parent reflect on us all. Dr. Mitchell's office is filled with polite staff and a good doctor, I have taken my 2yr old to see him a few times and I've always been satisfied with his kind and knowledgeable demeanor. However for the first time today, I had the unfortunate opportunity to witness and be treated with a lack of empathy. A few days ago I spent the night in NGH and was given a referral to a cardiologist, however I wasn't given any information on what to do if the issue kept happening or how long to wait to go back to the hospital if it persisted. Nothing more than just "you will get a call in a few days. This morning I went into the office to register, and speak with Dr. Mitchell, just to ask him what I should do as my issue was persisting. Like I said prior, he has always been very knowledgeable and figured maybe he could give me options if my pulse raced again or if my blood pressure spiked. Franky I was terrified! As I'm not one that normally complains or has a reason to visit a doctor. I like to think I'm an intelligent person, I know he can't treat this issue, however I did figure the swipe of my health card would at least allow me to speak with him for a couple of minutes in private. All that said I got to the registration window, and when speaking to the nice lady at the desk she offered me the little extra privacy of coming around the desk through the door. When there, I started to give her the run down of what was going on, at that time Doctor Mitchel was doing some paper work, briefly looked at me, said I needed to go to the hospital and he couldnt prescribe or do anything for me, all the time saying this barely looking away from what he was doing. I get it he was busy, but at this point I was unfortunately crying and was beside myself feeling humiliated with the line of people standing at the window waiting to register in ear shot, I just wanted to ask him a couple questions to put my mind at ease but I didn't even get to say that before he spat out "I can't help you" , I'm sure the surprise on my face was the only reason he then said I mean I guess I can check you out if that's what you want. With my reply simply, "I wouldn't want to waste your time", and left, knowing my card had already been swiped. As I left I heard him say, "I don't know what she expected me to do" . It wasn't what he said but how and where he said it. When you expect a little empathy or understanding, I felt humiliated, low and not worth his time. However because of the way he has been with my daughter, I can't in good faith give him a 1 star even though that's what he deserved today. It's unfortunate that I will have to drive 35 minutes to another walk in clinic from here on in due to how I was treated, but after the embarrassment I felt today I'd never walk in there agian!
