Charge above standard cleaning rates and do not clearly inform clients until after services are delivered. Highly suggest not going here if you are looking for value. Overall experience was also subpar and does not justify an increase in cost of services. Do not go here. Worst dental experience I’ve had to date. I was grateful the extra fees were waived as a one time gesture thankfully. After the negative experience, I received a letter saying I was no longer able to receive dental services from them. At no point did they say why they charged above the standard cleaning rate. Why misinform people to get them in the door just to let them go right after? Crazy stuff Anchor! Please consider updating your procedures to better inform clients of your overpriced services before they make the effort of switching to your office. This has been brutal.

One hygienist here is excellent, and I've kept coming for regular cleanings just to have her - but outside of that my experiences with each of the dentists, most of the reception staff, and the other hygienists I've had ranges from unprofessional to rude to vaguely incompetent. I don't usually write negative reviews, and I've given this place many visits to see if it gets any better - but it doesn't. Questions are not answered well, all of the information is not provided during consultations with the dentists, having a cavity filled here has been painful and required multiple return visits to try to correct the filing, plus I often feel that they are pushing extra and unnecessary treatments... I'm giving up on Anchor Dental.

I was extremely impressed with the level of service I received at Anchor Dental. Front desk staff are professional, efficient and friendly. Their COVID precautions are excellent (kudos for installing the sink that you can turn on by pressing on the cupboard below with your knee). Hygienist staff were also kind and so informative. I could not have asked for better information. My visit was quick and painless! Dr. Henn was truly excellent. He was honest and straight forward about my prognosis when many others could have taken the opportunity to make money off a procedure they knew would not have a good outcome. Overall I would 100% recommend this clinic to anyone in need of dental care. I was really happy with my visit and will definitely be returning.

I had a terrible exp. here recently. I had to cancel an appointment the day of due to a severe migraine a few months ago and They told me I lost weekend appointment privileges as a result. I was supposed to know 48 hours in advance that I was going to be sick and let them know apparently. Then due to a miscommunication I missed an appointment (totally my fault I scheduled in my calendar incorrectly) and I was told a because of the cancellation and the missed appointment that I was not welcome at their office as a patient. I found them very unreasonable and rude. Avoid avoid avoid. Who does business like that these days!! Thankfully we’ve now found a new local practice and they are wonderful and accommodating.

Scheduled me an emergency exam the same day; dentist puts you at ease with their calm and collected examination. Saw the problem and pitched a solution immediately; got the problem tooth extracted right then and there. Much better price than any other dentist I've been to (paid out of pocket). 10/10, would go again (will go again for the next extraction).

Dr. Henn was great ... he took the time to thoroughly explain my long term options and did a great job removing the broken roots fixing the problem. The team at anchor dental is fantastic. After years of major (seriously major) dental anxiety, Jessica made me feel so at ease when it came to booking the appointment and when I was in her chair. Dr Henn was calm yet joyful, and also made me feel completely comfortable. During the entire appointment I experienced zero pain or anxiety. I had 4 teeth removed and the dentist took the time to explain everything that would happen. I would recommend them to any family or friend. Their quotes aren't worth the paper they're printed on. Despite claiming the document is for planning your treatment, it isn't . They will print anything to get you in the chair and then tell you your insurance doesn't cover it. They are either being willfully deceptive, or they are absolutely incompetent.

I've thought carefully before posting this review. If any child experienced what I did yesterday, they would never go back to a dentist. There are much better ways to extract a tooth than what I experienced. I take needles well, but this was excruciating and because he didn't employ more modern techniques, the tooth broke and then he had the nerve to say that I made him work. Hello, I had to endure unnecessary pain, lose a tooth and over $600.00. Because I am new here in Victoria I went for the dentist that had good google reviews, but a few of them were on office cleanliness. That should be a given in any dental office. In 2014 this should not happen. I believe Dr Wenn is bored with his job and just going through the motions. He uses a coarse drill bit because it's faster, but isn't as precise as a finer drill and takes more of the tooth out. I should have done more research and when I did too late, he worked for the armed services for some time where the expectations are not quite as high as paying consumers. The office staff and dental assistants were marvellous, I had no complaints there. I think Dr. Wenn needs to step up his game to be personable and more painless. Although their web site says that they offer nitrous oxide they don't and they say they offer oral sedation, they don't, but do offer a RX for same for future appts. It is not my way to do negative reviews, but 2 appts., $1400, pain and swelling deem it necessary. Dr. Wenn also did a filling, which lasted a whole 4 weeks! If this was the first dentist I had visited in Canada I would fly somewhere else, but previous work at Bayshore Dental assures me there are good dentists in Victoria, B.C. If you need good dental work, please go elsewhere. Dr. Wenn should hang his head in shame!

Dr. Henn and his team are excellent, totally unpretentious and caring but not syrupy sweet. Dr. Henn is very human, like your brother (the good one) – only he is a dentist. He explains things to you. And very competent with his skills and knowledge. I have also heard him be very attuned to the needs of young children – speaking in a genuinely kind voice with words that they understand. My hygienist is also first rate. She introduced me to the water pik which I bought to care for my eroded gums. It is really helpful. I highly recommend the care at Anchor Dental Centre.

I have white teeth and healthy gums which is a common thing but not always for people in their 60s like me. The surprise is that my gum health is not only good but improving. I owe this to some talented dental professionals, the latest being Dr. Henn, Anchor Dental Centre, who has been my dentist for the past 10 years. Dr. Henn took me on as a patient when I needed some caps, crowns and an endodontist's care. He did the necessary restoration work in cooperation with a great lab at half the price I expected to pay. I was also happily referred to an endodontist I knew and trusted over one tricky tooth. This was 10 years ago and I have since, for the most part, had my checkups and cleaning. The hygienists, Jessica being the latest, have all been thorough. The appointments are completely comfortable--partly because of the people and partly because of the office. The office is clean and equipped with everything modern. I feel I am in good hands from reception onwards.
