This Doctor is classified in the category of Hospital.
Depending what time of day you are going some staff are great but the senior staff are awful and judgemental . I have seen to many mistreatment on the nurses behalfs . They are stuck up and think they own the place . Most doctor are amazing except one or two that should probably retire . The parking is ridiculous and far to expensive . Even the staff have to paye ... Also some cleaning staff should really start clean instead of spending their time in the cafeteria talking about other staff members...
If you can avoid coming here to deliver your baby or even emergency is brutal with attitude at times, go to another hospital if you can!! Male nurse at the emergency desk is snotty and watched as a very senior man had blood dripping down his face and wouldn't help him while in line, told him to wait, after about 30 minutes I went up and asked for a cloth or something and have it to him for the blood. Drs don't usually take you seriously for much. I was pregnant and had major pains and told them I was scared something was very wrong. The guy didn't care and told me to have a seat etc. I had my miscarriage in their public hospital toilet.???? Wished the old guy the best and left with my husband. This hospital deserves a wake up call and most of the nurses in the maternity ward are snotty and have no respect after you've had a baby and need rest.
We are very fortunate to have the medical services available here.
How am I to address the employee who meets people at the door? I called her Ma'am and she went Karen on me. And then proceeds to say something to another behind my back as I walk away. Very professional. Please wear a sign indicating how you are to be addressed. 16:45 July 2, 2020
They treat you pretty good here since the covert-19 only one person per patient is allowed in. That is great because it's no good to be alone when you are recovering. You need friends or family around you. It really helps you heal faster.
I walked in on a weekday, got triage immediately. Didn't wait long to be seen. Everyone is focused and professional.
Was there for about 3 hours with a dislocated knee and the ER doctor eventually told me she didn't think it was dislocated. Got sent for x-rays and immediately the tech said it didn't look right. Had a consultation with the orthopedic surgeon a few weeks later where he showed me the x-ray of my dislocated knee and it was clearly not in place. I'm not sure what kind of knees that doctor usually looks at where she thought that was normal.
The staff are very friendly and polite. The hospital is very clean and so far my experience has been good!!! And for the food it’s actually not to bad!! Lol.
We will see what star I give them when my mom gets home...
Friendly, helpful, efficient and professional staff! Thank you for you genuine kindness.
They have no control over their environment, they let covid patients wander around, causing lockdowns for all of their normal patients and visitors
Awesome care I received recently right from the EMT's, emergency staff nd ICU staff I will return next summer for a visit nd thank you all! 2 thumbs up from Saskatchewan
Definitely one of the top list of hospitals in BC
Didn’t see Colby here
Wirat hospital in bc, all they wanna do is tgrow drugs at the problem. They avoid doing test and scans in tge hopes u will just get up and leave. Finally i went ro foothills hospital in calagry, and wouldnt u inow it 2 hours there they found the problem had surgery and was fixed.
I just had day surgery performed on me at this hospital, Everybody was friendly. I can only really remember the names of two RNs on the floor where I spent the night. I has a couple "accidents" with my catheter and Meaghan was very good about it. Serena who relieved Meaghan in the morning was great. We were having an interesting conversation and, all of a sudden, the catheter was out.
Went into ER last night with a kidney stone. Zero compassion from the young man at the front desk who was more interested in getting my billing information. When I asked where the ER nurse was he just said she will get to you when she gets to you. (As I had years flowing down my cheeks). The one nurse put an IV in improperly and I watched horrified as a pint of my blood flowed fast onto the bed sheet. Nice nurses but gross experience.
Cranbrook ICU - What a team! Thank you for all the exceptional care during my resent "stay": the thoughtful touches like humming a tune or telling a funny/interesting story to distract me from all the "pokes", making my bed, meetings held to collaborate over me, washing my hair, beloved ice chips refilled - and just all around good vibes! Oh! And for making me alll better!!!! I hope to never see you again ????
I broke my femur on March 9, 2019 in Golden, BC. Dr Sernik and his team operated on me the next day here in Cranbrook. They saved my life. I had pneumonia and a pulmonary embolism from my accident. I was in the hospital for six nights. I am so eternally thankful for their hard work, patience, and kindness. Everyone was so good to me at this hospital. I would like to thank the following staff: The amazing nurses starting with Tatiana, Michelle, Leslie, Gina, Travis, Hailey, and Jocelyn. As well as their nursing instructor Emily. There were others as well including Gail and Regina. I would also love to thank the doctor of internal medicine Dr Lori for diagnosing my pneumonia and PE so quickly. I'm so thankful I can walk and do everything I loved to do again. I love spending time in the outdoors and am so glad I can continue to do so. Thank you so much for your service. I don't know the team members who operated on me, but thank you very much. Norbert
My wife and I chose Cranbrook for our retirement because it is in a truly beautiful region with all kinds of activities and the town offers most of the facilities we thought we would want as we get older and all within walking distance. I did not think I would need hospital treatment within weeks of moving here but I did. I found all the staff at this hospital to be very friendly and excellent caring professionals, the treatment I received was prompt and very effective. To anyone who thinks otherwise I suggest you try the National Health facilities in the north west of England, my relatives over there were amazed at the timeframe my minor surgery was done in, even in non covid times I would have waited and suffered for a least a year over there not the couple of weeks I had here.
This has to be the worst hospital in BC the nurses are miserable and the doctors are prescription happy idiots. They would rather through a bunch of drugs at you instead of actually trying to find the cause.
we had a family emergency april 7, 2017. my wife was later airlifted to st. paul's in Vancouver. the entire cranbrook staff, nurses and doctors were phenomenal. they literally saved her life. they do not take a back seat to st. paul's exceptional medical team. thank you all so much!!!
Hands down the best place I could have ended up after an accident. Alex Chan is a phenomenal doctor and saved me from having paralysis of the legs. His care and dedication to patients is second to none. He helped me find doctors to assist me upon my return to the states and I know that I can contact him anytime for advice even though Iive in the states and am no longer under his supervision. Nurses in this hospital were the best I have ever had. They all cared for me as if I was family. They really were a big part if my recovery success.
Very poor consideration! I know I have been in this er department, almost everyday for mental health issues, but lately it's been physical problems too! I'm human too, but when I'm given dirty looks, or they make snide jokes and comments, it hurts and sure doesn't change mental feelings or physical illness for that matter. Some "jokes" that are made are: "she's gotta be running at about $200,000.00 by now!", Or "she could probably diagnose and treat herself now!". My recommendation is if dr. Thorne or dr. Barnard is on, steer clear! They are arrogant! Dr. Haiduk and Dr. Bowden are by far the most nicest caring doctors I've ever met! I need to go there today, for abdominal swelling to the size of a grapefruit and a lot of pain with it, so I will re-rate the experience tonight!
Wife was sent home with no medical treatment from a severe allergy. Two days later her allergic reaction flared up and we had to go back to this "hospital". The care aides at the front are wonderful and the only reason this place deserves a star. The "nurse" at the front, knowing this hospital has discharged my wife with no medical treatment two days previous was snippy and said "they'll get to her when they get to her" So I guess the 6 hours she spent in misery in this torture chamber of an ER previous wasn't enough, so now she can sit around and hopefully be treated. Legit, you'll be treated better by a Vet out here than these jokers. They thought we were joking when I said "fine I'll call a lawyer" but then when I went to get the paperwork to find out her attending, they suddenly couldn't do enough. So to the "Nurse" working at 930am on Monday morning, August 16th good job you entitled, uncaring monster. You've gotten a malpractice suit against your hospital from you attitude! Well done. Seriously, Cranbrook needs a full time malpractice lawyer this ER alone will keep them in business.
Absolute worst hospital in the kootenays. Zero communication skills, rudest nurses possible. If you break your leg or any other bone in your body I recommend avoiding this pathetic hospital at all costs. Most unprofessional people I’ve ever dealt with ever
Had surgery to remove my appendix, everyone was amazing.
Spent 6 hrs in the ER waiting room with my five year old that needed stitches. I asked a couple times how much longer and each time I was told he was third in line. When I mentioned that I had be told that a few times I was told that there were really sick people there that needed help. Not sure how many hours it’s acceptable to leave a young child with an open wound bleeding in the waiting room. Never did see a doctor as we finally gave up and went home. Awful experience!
Had full hip replacement surgery in August 2017. What wonderful doctors (Dr. Chan), Nursing Staff and Care Staff. Also kudos to the Cafeteria Staff and Cleaning Staff. Was a mini-holiday for me and I loved every minute!!! Ginny Callaway, Cranbrook, B.C.
All the nurses and other personnel at the day surgery block are going way above and beyond typical hospital standards. They were very accommodating and made our experience much more pleasant than expected.
I wish I could give them no stars. I went to the hospital because of pain, waited for almost 6 hours to get in, then when I finally got in I waited some more. The doctor I saw was so incredibly rude and did not actually help me with the real problem, I just hope I never have to go back there again. Would not recommend.
I am very disappointed in the Cranbrook Regional Hospital, along with many many more people that have family or friends that end up in the Cranbrook Hospital. What I am talking about, why is this Hospital that you an I pay for allowing this Shaw Cable to charge the outrages amount for tv service for the sick that come into this Hospital? $44.00 for 3 days, an $11.00 a day after that after that. That totals to $341 a month.
I was concerned going into the EKRH as an Albertan in our current climate. The front staff, nurses and doctor treated me with warmth, kindness and humour. I had the best experience and can not say thank you enough. Kudos to Danica, Erin, Liz and Dr. Stuart.
They let me out of mental with full clearance only to drag me back in before i even got out of the parking lot “addition” had to clean someone else's urine from my rooms floor. This is not a safe place for recovery at all. Well they are working against my recovery and health... Fun fact they don’t force mask wear or 6ft distancing, they also use double bed rooms so you get a roommate and the beds are less than 6ft apart as well, this hospital is terrible.
Four stars for Cranbrook Hospital ....ZERO stars for British Columbias' Health Care System. British Columbia Health IS BROKEN. The Clark Government wants to spend billions on site C Hydro ....while the BC Health Services are pathetic and First and foremost, there are way too few doctors in the Kootenays ...as I am encountering right now. Creston, no doctors taking on new patients thus people with health issues are directed to Creston Hospital Emergency...same for Cranbrook ....4 clinics all denied me services and directed me to the Hospital Emergency services. I commend and am very thankful for the Emerg. Services in Cranbrook Hospital for providing prompt and thorough attention to my non life threatening condition upon my arrival there Dec.8/16. It is after that initial visit that the "system" proves itself broken in yet another way. The communication and coordination of services among Interior Health (Tamarack Lab) and Public Health Cranbrook and the Cranbrook Hospital Emerg. Services becomes a muddled mess with me and my needs left out to dry. I found many of the "service providers" were understanding and empathetic of my plight, but unable to provide any tangible assistance. Others were of a different attitude, which I will describe as unhelpful and crass. It seems that the right hand and the left hand of the various branches of British Columbia Health Service have vague ideas of what each other can do or are supposed to do. Again, leaving me stranded in an inter office limbo ..... and still without a doctor that I can book appointments with....
I have been battling several issues over the last year and I would have been dead long time ago if it wasn't for the dr and nurses who are there the drs do everything they can to do acurrate diagnoses and cures and 90% of the nurses are sooooo very patient and loving and really make me feel that everything is going to be ok when I think I'm not going home to my kids .GOD BLESS all of them for that .and I also heat how they treat others with such kindness .one man came in and was with drawing from alcohol the drs and nurses handled this man with care and understanding and no judgement after careing for immediate medical needs .a nurses stood beside him for hours with a machine to suck out the vomit while he was sadadated so he wouldn't choke to death and die .and so many other stories I have witnessed that just melted my heart for these people.only once I had a dr lady tell me I couldn't breathe because my "big ol' gut was pushing up on my lungs" and to go home and loose weight.i then when back the next day and got the rite professional ansewr from a smart educated non discriminating dr.which is ANY one else.God bless the entire staff and I hope some clinics with nurse practitioners or somethings opens soon so people don't always have to use/abuse er services.its not fair and it's not rite.and they need a miracle.
