I have had much experience with alternative medicine over the years for my chronic pain and anxiety. My treatments with Hsiu-chen calm me and leave me feeling peaceful, relaxed and greatly help manage my pain. I would highly recommend serenity acupuncture!

I was a skeptic but this woman works magic. It must be hard for her to keep customers, if she keeps on CURING them! In the past I'd been many times to chiro (hated it), physio (did nothing), and massage (loved it, but it's effect is short term) Sessions are extremely personalized (unlike Western medicine), the appointment goes until "she's done" with you - not when the clock says (like all your other doctors). She simultaneously treated unrelated internal (organ) issues I didn't know I had. Acupuncture practically cured my back pain. After years in agony, I had 1 visits to an old Chinese man in Nanaimo (equally amazing), and then 3 visits at her former (downtown) location, and I've had almost pain issues since, and that was 2 years ago. (I just can't pronounce her name!) ...and no, the needles don't hurt! It's more like a magical "pinch" cures your. The effect isn't instantaneous like pain pills - but a couple visits and you'll see what I mean!

I have had an excellent experience at Serenity Acupuncture. I am 66 years old and in reasonable health except for sleep issues plus I had eye flashes because I was very near sighted before laser surgery. Hsiu-chen was very conscientious in her analysis of my physiology and emotional well being. After her analysis she did the acupuncture and then I relaxed in a very calming environment. She encouraged me to wean myself from my sleeping meds( I was on a lot of pills). I hesitated because I didn't think it possible. I tried and to my surprise have stopped taking all my anti - depressants. I did not expect that. Now I don't feel stoned and can finally lose a few pounds I gained because of the pills.

After decades of, and the whole gamet of treatment modalities, Hsui- chen's magic touch has been the most healing so far - and by far. You get to lavish peacefully in her room and forget there are a bunch of needles in your body head to toe - she's generous with them (front and back) but beware - you will fall asleep. It's hard to know where to start, Hsieu Chen has helped me immensely, it feels like very good fortune that I ended up on her table. I very much appreciate her frank conversation and her intuitive, personal approach to healing the body and mind. There's never a rushed feeling or an, "alright you're done, time to go" vibe. For years I've been unable to sleep or even lay on my back and for the last two weeks I've been getting at least eight hours a night and often sleeping past that. For that I can't say thank you enough. The healing process has been a real stumble through old emotions and blockages and at times it's hard to see the progress being made, often more is happening than I am aware of. Being able to discuss it with Hsieu Chen and her honest thoughts and knowledge have been invaluable, again I feel very appreciative. Hsieu Chen has helped identify deficiencies in my organs and other tensions that I wasn't aware I wasn't addressing, she has a very keen eye and an openness to discuss what is occurring whether physical, emotional or energetic. I'm grateful to be getting better yet at the same time will miss my visits, I hold Hsieu Chen's knowledge and opinions in high esteem and would recommend her to anyone looking for either a tune up or who's really stuck.
