I went in to see Dr. Milanovich with an unknown shoulder injury that wouldn't seem to heal. He was able to diagnose what was wrong and perform 3 PRP treatments on it over the course of 4 months. Considering the circumstances he was able to make it the most pain free experience as possible while educating me on the science behind it. I found the treatments to be very effective and speed up the healing process considerably. It was a much better alternative than having surgery. I would highly recommend PRP treatments on any kind of injury before considering surgery.

David takes an analytical approach to his practice. He is challenged by and driven to find a solution that brings the most efficient results. He naturally demonstrates care, compassion and a sense of responsibility with his patients. Although I know David well outside of his practice, while in his care to treat a shoulder injury, David focused narrowly on the root cause of how the injury manifested. He was both curious and concerned. When perplexed with new injury scenerios, David takes a deeper dive into his learning journey, such as in my case. I suffered extreme, nauseating should pain that radiated into the neck, arm, middle spin, and, some times, the low back. The injury involved complex connective tissue and nerves that were demonstrating behaviour uncharacteristic of an injury resulting from direct force such as a tear or a fall. David isolated the most problematic area for treatment using peri-neural injection therapy realizing this was the most beneficial method to address the damaged tissue. Results were realized immediately after the first treatment and by the third treatment, there were no exisiting signs of pain or injury. Feeling skeptical about the effectiveness of this treatment? I would recommend to others suffering chronic pain to take a risk and try it. The number of treatments will vary and David will fully disclose what will be needed to bring about healing and relief. His percription to restore the body to optimal health is backed by years of experience and, most importantly, an innate desire to uncover the hidden mysteries of the body and its own ability to heal. I have had two shoulder surgeries from an injury while wrestling at Pan Ams for Canada 15 years ago. Now that I have retired from competition, shoulder would randomly it would drop out of the shoulder socket in my day to day activities. It was either a third surgery or start trying alternative treatments. I gave Prolo a shot,by the second treatment my shoulder felt more stable and secure then I can ever remember. After the 6th treatment, I no longer notice a difference between my right and left and that is pretty exciting.

I had been taking Lactin for for about a year for relief of arthritis in my left knee. Heard about PRP last May 2018 so thought I would give it a try. I visited Dr Milanovich in Courtenay that May and had a shot, Dr David called me that evening to see how I was doing, great follow up. The pain in my knee was 90% gone in 48 hours, amazing. I commercial fish so before leaving in June I had another treatment. It has been 13 months since the two shots and I have not had any pain in my knee worth mentioning, however a week ago this May I decided to have another treatment as I leave again for fishing. To start, let me say I was a true skeptic on non traditional medicine. But...I have to say PRP treatments from David were a game changer for me. My work requires mobility, and I was quite concerned with growing pain in my knee and outside foot. Was it going to affect my ability to perform my work ?. It led me to see my family doctor about options for pain relief, I was already on medication for pain and felt I may need cortisone or other short term help. He suggested I try PRP first as a possible regenerative approach, and suggested that there was a local clinic. Dr. David Milanovich started PRP treatments 1 per month for 3 months. I suffered from arthritis in my facet joints in my back which put pressure on my sciatic nerve. I woke up one morning in pain and within a few weeks was unable to get out of bed. I tried everything from acupuncture, chiropractic treatments, massage, epsom salt baths, a change in diet to reduce inflammation, pain killers....nothing worked. After 11 months of pain, extremely limited mobility and the fear that my life would never be the same, PRP was recommended and I had nothing to lose. Doctor Milanovich took the time to find out the cause of my pain. Since we were planning to stay at Comox Valley / Courtenay for 5 days, he not only "fed" me with an injection, but also treated me for the following 4 days. Even though I was only passing through as a tourist, he treated me as if I were his patient forever! Most of all, he took me out of line as an "emergency" and was still trying to find treatment appointments for me so that I and my family could still complete our excursion program. I was helped! I have been seeing Dr. Milanovich to have prolo- therapy for a chronic neck condition. I was a little worried about needles around my neck. He took the time to explain the procedure and answered all my questions with knowledge and thorough explanations. I was immediately put at ease with the manner and confidence he showed. He never once made me feel that my questions and concerns were being rushed through, and I have never felt hurried when I have my appointment.I feel comfortable and confident in his knowledge of what he does. He is also a genuine nice guy. I am feeling improvement in the pain and range of motion in my neck, so I am happy with the progress so far.
