Today, I put on a new pair of glasses, and for the first time in...somewhere along the lines of eight years or more, I stopped seeing double. Dr. Nikolet took the time to properly and exactly find the adjustment needed to correct the diplopia caused by strabismus in my left eye. I have been impressed by Iris in the past, but this time they have gone way beyond the call. You will not regret getting your glasses from these folks. Update: Went to a 3D movie the other day, and I was actually able to watch in 3D!

Beatrice and colleagues adjusted my glasses that had been out of alignment since I bought them at the start of covid at another store. They were friendly and efficient and the adjustment has improved the fit tremendously. Very affordable to have adjusted especially since I didn't buy from them. Will return for my next pair of glasses!

I had an excellent experience here! They were super-friendly, relaxed, great with my kids (ages range from 3-10 years old), and they were exceptionally patient with me. All told I think I was in there eight times and they seemed happy to see me every time. The warranty on the glasses here is amazing! I didn’t take enough time to pick my first pair of glasses and very much disliked them, including how unclear they seemed. After almost two weeks they double-checked my vision test free of charge and let me pick a new pair of frames, also free of charge! There ended up being nothing wrong with my initial vision test, it had to do with the frames I picked. I love my newest pair of glasses and they’re beautifully clear. We will go here every time.

Staff are all wonderful, very helpful. Appt took 2 hours though, which i was not expecting. Also their prices are high, so if you dont have glass coverage be prepared. I was a little bit taken aback by the lenses they recommended for my husband being $800 with frames. Not something we can afford. But the doctors were good and they have a nice selection.

Instead of providing good costumer service and promptly honouring the 2 year warranty on my glasses one worker insisted multiple times that its time for me to buy a new pair, when I asked about the warranty she stated that my frames may be discontinued...whichI know wouldn’t affect my warranty anyways, she just seemed cheap and told me to return to the branch I originally bought them from which was in Powell River a ferry away. After calling that branch they confirmed that my warranty was still valid and that frames could be replaced in any branch and were not discontinued, she even offered to call the courtenay branch to help me since the lady I delt with both times going there was completely unhelpful. What a headache. I have only ever had a negative experience at this specific branch, the powell river branch was amazing, they fitted my glasses and adjusted the nosepiece while the courtenay branch didn’t bother making sure the frames sat well on my face so I had them adjusted somewhere else. Not all staff are like this solely the dark haired woman.

I highly recommend visiting Iris, midland ont. The staff were amazing, making sure my visit was comfortable, and had covid protocols in place. They followed them properly ensuring the safety of staff and others. They have top of the line equipment, and took the time to explain every step of my visit making sure I knew what to expect prior to any testing taking place, which help make me feel less anxious. I went In this morning to get contact lenses this . Lisa helped me she was amazing I’m blind in One eye and she got me contact lenses for work. I’m a half hour my prescription. Absolutely loved it! Broke my frames and they replaced them under half an hour! My lenses are extremely thick so it’s hard to find good frames. But not only did they have the frames but they put them in and cost less then anywhere else I’ve been. Would definitely go again.

i just recently got a new pair of glasses, progressives. being told a couple years ago by Dr.Nickolet that i may need to be in bifocals, ( that's what every young guy wants to hear ! ) i cringed at the thought of being in bifocals. anyway, being in a pair of progressive glasses was what i really needed ! with the help of Dr. Nickolet and the ladies of IRIS, i am so impressed with the quality of them and being able to see much more clearer ! thank you all !! ???? derek lewington

My experience was lovely from start to finish. Not only are the staff professional and friendly, but they are very mindful of Covid rules and it’s affect on shopping for glasses/ having your eyes checked. They have developed a good balance of care for the customer’s needs and our current circumstances. My eye examination at Iris this past week was most gratifying. The staff were wonderfully pleasant and positive. Dr. Bunn was so very supportive as he examined my eyes. He made sure that I understood what was going on with my vision in a most gentle, affirmative manner. The only hesitation I have with this practice is the high cost of the glasses, but I also have experienced unfailing courtesy and help whenever I went in to have my glasses adjusted. Iris is an experience to trust.

Possibly the worst to contact over the phone, staff is very monotone and unfriendly. Also not very helpful. Been with them for years and slowly started having worse and worse experiences. Never mind the expected vs actual date contacts are supposed to come in. I’m severely disappointed and will be looking into switching optometrists ASAP

I purchased my wife's prescription eye glasses here. This is how they treat men. I asked for a pair of men's readers (2.5) full metal frame. I was shown 3 pair. 1 defenitly woman's. 1 all plastic and 1 not all metal. The one that works the desk will only order the men's glasses AFTER the woman's readers depleted and need to be "restocked" because delivery costs her $40.00. She told me to try Walmart. Nice eh? Only reason for 1 star is because you have to use 1 star to post review.

My experience with iris Huronia optical and dr Georgia Pankhurst was so incredibly good! I was having a big problem with my eye and my own Optometrist could not see me so I called Iris Huronia Optical. They welcomed me even though I had just bought glasses elsewhere. They took me in that very day because of the urgency of my problem! It was such a nice friendly atmosphere and it made me feel at ease right away. Dr Pankhurst was amazingly! Even though she had had a long busy day and still more to see she took the time to check my eyes in detail and then took the time to explain all that was going on! She didn’t just send me on my way either that evening, she made an appointment for me the very next day to keep a close watch on my eye situation! She was so knowledgeable and friendly and explained everything! When she could see that my eye was improving she made another follow up appointment in a week! I would and will recommend Dr Pankhurst and Iris Huronia Optical.

Very happy with Iris and particularly Dr. Bunn. He's incredibly knowledgeable and had answers for questions no other optometrist have given to me before. Patient with kids and explains everything. He mentioned an MSP assistance program for those with hypertension which no other optometrist has helped me to claim before. AND they have a partnership with BCTF to save teachers money on glasses. Very happy with the quality of glasses as well. Not going anywhere else!

The optometrist was very good, but I won't be going back. Why? Because I walked in to ask about getting new nosepads on my glasses purchased online. The person behind the counter told me that they didn't repair anything but their own glasses, then hemmed and hawed and said she could look at them if I signed a release form absolving them of all responsibility if the glasses were broken during repair. When I declined their services, she told me that no opticians in the Comox Valley would repair glasses if they weren't originally sold by them. As I discovered at VisionWorks, this was simply not true. Not a good way to encourage customers, Iris!

I run a training company in Alberta and BC with a focus on customer service, so I tend to be fairly picky about customer service and not easily impressed. Iris in quesnel impressed me. Here is why. I walked in without an appointment and they were able to give me two good options, it felt like everyone there was working to help me out in a friendly relaxed manner. I liked the way the team communicated with each other throughout my visit and especially appreciated how they communicated with me. Dr. Ross was excellent. Straightforward, honest and genuinely positive, he has a real passion about what he does. Whatever he puts in his coffee in the morning I want some. The entire staff was eficent, friendly, explained things well, and made me feel at ease and well taken care of throughout the whole experience. It far exceeded any expectations I had going in. Kudos to everyone on that team, I highly recommend this business.

I was long overdue for a new pair of glasses. Unfortunately, the realization that a new pair was urgent came to me just after the COVID-19 pandemic began. I thought I would wait it out a bit, but it was soon obvious that it would be a long time before I could casually drop into an eyewear store. Then my old frames fell apart, making the new glasses an absolute necessity. (I should note that the old frames were not from Huronia Optical - Iris. Also, given the amount of wear they had gone through, I had no complaints about how long they lasted.) In any case, I sent Huronia Optical - Iris an email, as directed on their website, and was soon contacted by one of their staff. They arranged a store visit by appointment. They wore protective gear, as did I. Everything was cleaned and/or sanitized in the store. Necessary contact for fitting glasses was kept to a minimum. I was able to order my new glasses easily and I picked them up today. I am very pleased with them. I am especially pleased with the efficient and helpful manner of the staff, and with their ability to help customers in need during these challenging times. I really would have been stuck without the ability to get a badly needed new pair at this time. Also, I do not have health coverage, but the staff were able to generate some ideas and options to help me save money, but get exactly what I needed and wanted. Clearly customer care is a high priority for this store.

Doctor is awesome but the iris store part is like buy are glasses or we wont process your medical claim to see the doctor. I was like what a scam. other part i cant say i like is after you get squirted int he eyes with the stuff that makes it hard to see they start to sell you on there product. no real care except for the commission there going to get. I probably keep going to the doctor and file my claim myself. But at this point I doubt I will every buy glasses from this location ever again. or until they change there business practice.
