Great place love the vets here very caring
Decent place to go with your animal. Gets are knowledgable
best service ever caring.
Charged my mom 2000$ deposit to look at her dog said they would give remaining amount back. They charged her 600$ more afterwards. All they did was look at her and gave an IV.... Learned my lesson now I go to Massena now they never charge more than 300$ for exact same services and to be honest smarter staff than Cornwall could ever offer.
The staff were wonderful, but it was extremely busy, so be prepared to wait.
Prices so high for this small town.
This Place should be shut down Refused to SAVE A PET IN NEED SAYING WE CANT SEE HIM , LEARN TO RESCHEDULE NON EMERGENCY APPOINTMENTS YOU UNPROFESSIONAL NON PASSIONATE VETS NEED TO BE CLOSED FOR MALPRACTICE (Update) My cat passed away peacefully and no longer in pain in maxville after ospca got us an appointment there, (a blockage and kidneys failed) I wanted to save his life no matter how bad I asked St Lawrence Valley Animal Hospital if they could do a payment plan which they do not, I asked about euthanazation so my baby wouldn't be in pain because he was struggling to breath and wasn't urinating and was told the doctor does not feel comfortable doing that when the cat could be saved ( ie. If he could be saved why wouldn't you arrange to see him and cancel a non emergency appointment and take him after i was able to get the money and called again for you to see him ) was told I can try calling Ottawa or Martintown even after i stated I do not drive they still turned us away, disrespectful to the full regard and do not care about how a person feels when all they want is either so save their pet or put him down to prevent any more suffering and pain that will only get worse
i totally agree with everyone else every time i come to this place of crooks constantly telling me i have to pay a least $10000 with a huge list of this and this and this the dog needs instead of focusing on the problem there thieves and crooks i hope they get shut down and put out of service bunch of low lifes
Took my Henry in as a new client and on very short notice. The staff are all very genuine and kind, and the Veterinarian was thorough in her discussion with me and gentle with my dog. Prices were average. Overall a very satisfactory experience. Thanks St.Lawrence Valley!
We feel very blessed to have met these wonderful people at St. Lawrence Valley Animal Hospital. We were visiting my mother in Williamstown when our dog pedro had a freak accident and punctured her lung with a stick. They were fast and attentive but we could tell that they really cared and love animals. Thanks again to all the staff and Dr. El-Korchi saved our little pedro and we are forever grateful. We would highly recommend this place and we were lucky to have them in such a crucial time. Thank you Thank you!
Great compassionate vets and techs.
I haven't been here in years but took my parents dog in last week and they were fantastic. Wait time was longer than I'm used to but knowledgeable and friendly staff.
We have always had great experiences here. The staff are great with both pets and people
Called in about my sick pup, and receptionist was very rude. Very disappointed in just the service I received over the phone.
Hi, I'm Mackenzie. My dog had kidney failure. He was 15 and his name was Buddy. I live in Guelph, five hours away. The amazing vets here stabilized him so I could get back home and be with him in his final moments. I really, could not have asked for better people to care for my best friend before he moved on. Thank you, and have an amazing day, everyone at St.L V Animal Hospital
Im sorry but they always have excuses not take my cat ei; "hes not registered with us" "we dont taake strays" "were not taking new animals" honestly thanks. Ive had to cure my own animal aat home Call me the vet ????
Very good service.
Staff and doctor Barbara Tomlinson very compasion with your fur babies
Very good staff friendly
Great people, if a little tough to get a booking.
We just had the best veterinary experience ever. Our dog Pedro had a freak accident where a stick went up through her armpit, through her ribs and punctured her lung missing her heart by a cm. The team at St Lawrence Valley Animal Hospital were so fantastic coming in early for us and so friendly. They made this very stressful situation bearable. It's so great to see a vet who's not just about medicine. Dr. El-Korchi is obviously an animal lover and made our pup feel much more at ease than usual vet visits. He also coached us on how to give our pup amazing care so we were able to take her home sooner and didn't have to leave her in a 24 hr facility over night. Plus he made more than one phone call to our house to check in on Pedro. They were all so busy but still managed to make time to answer all of our questions and make us feel at ease. Thank you all for helping us through would could have been one of the worst days ever. We won't forget it.
You make your own choice. This one is off my list.
My 17 year old cat Zorro euthanization was sweetly / caringly / professionally handled by the staff at St Lawrence Valley. I will most definately be returning to have my remaining cat microchipped as well as vaccinated.
Peter the surgeon here did an amazing job when cutting out the cancer from my cats head. He had a bit of an interesting recovery, but the hospital was more than helpful in keeping up his health.
I called yesterday to see if they were taking in new patients during this covid pandemic and explained the problem that I was having with my cat Bella, they took her in the next day and made my cat feel so much better thank you so much???? would recommend this vet clinic to anyone
We take both of our dogs to St. Lawrence Valley Animal Hospital and have had great experiences Everytime. They answer all questions and always put my dogs health as their #1 priority. My puppy was hit by a car at 5 months old and when we called they took him right away. The vets were all very compassionate and made me feel so much better. Everytime I go in with them the receptionists treat is like family. We will continue to come here for their care.
You should not be in business. You practices are only about money. After my husband calling all day asking you to put a cat down who was suffering, he had stones. You would not work with me for payment arrangements. Only once it was after hours, which was 12 hours between the first phone call about my baby, and the time I called after hours. Did you actually agree to finally do payments. Goes from 200 or so for the visit to well over 500. And you call yourselves animal lovers. All about the money. I will be pleased the day you bad choices and poor customer service closes your business.
Never again!!
This place is wonderful. The staff is caring, accommodating and kind. I would recommend it to anyone who asks!
Great staff. I know my best friend (dog) is getting good care when I bring her there
Amazing emergency care for a pup we were babysitting. They stayed open late to treat her. Was seen for multiple follow ups and the price was not out if this world. Very understanding and compassionate. Would use as an emergency vet again
Dr. Barbara Tomlinson is a compassionate, amazing vet who was amazing with my dog!
I went there with a very sick kitten that had to be euthanized and the veterinarian and staff were very sweet and very kind to me.
i couldnt of asked for a better vet. i travel over 2 hrs to see these guys. they are so caring and kind. they helped me financialy so i wouldnt have to put my dog down. truly amazing people there.
Great people. Friendly. Remember who you are. My pups love going there.
Great service.
Awsome friendly place and the vet was amazing!!
They are always great and answer all my pet related questions :) thanks!
They are very professional, and caring. All the precautions are taken. They did a very thorough check up on my Daisy and found the problem . A new customer but will be a repeat customer.
Great service. Friendly, caring staff. Wouldn't take my cat anywhere else.
Great Vet practice! The office is clean, warm and comfortable. The staff is knowledgeable and the wait was not too long, We have 3 pets: 1 chocolate lab and 2 cats. We recently went through the difficult experience of finding out that our 5 year old shih tzu/pug’s liver was failing, having to put him to sleep at far too young an age. As traumatic as this experience was, I absolutely could not have asked for a better vet and staff to have proceeded through this with. Their recommendations were always with my best interests at heart, they periodically checked in, and they showed both me and my animal exceptional compassion. Everyone on the staff is phenomenal, and although I am one of many patients, they remembered each and every detail about my animal's situation. I wouldn’t trust my pets to anyone else.
Fast friendly service.
Always great care for my pups. Never had any issues with them. They all smile and give you great service.
Squeezed us in when we had a small emergency with our cat, saving us the trip to Ottawa to an animal hospital. Very sweet vets and accompanying staff.
Went there for the first time Friday and they were amazing with my Boxer. Already booked follow up appointment :)
Always take great care of my two dogs.
Very friendly drs and staff. Wait time is a bit though when having to pay. Need more then one payment terminal
Was in for about 5 minutes with my dog and WOW , someone comes in with a bill for blood test , 400.00 , really ???? I agree with everyone , they are all about the money except for Barbara , she is a great compassionate Vet , her I would recommend !! But the rest there and the staff that works the front desk , OMG , always looking at people like they are from another planet , wake up and learn customer service !!!!
Thanks for helping Thor.. glad he didn't need surgery.
Expensive
Dr. Tropea is absolutely amazing!
Great peoples ????????????
Knowledgeable, professional and friendly staff
Courtious and reassuring. Very good in protecting everyone from covid as well. My pet was well treated.
Animal HOSPITAL. What a joke! Dying dog and had no time to do what was needed! Hospital is where we go for help. And all we received was “sorry we are all booked”
Brought my cat in and they were very gentle with her and called her "bean" like I do. Gave estimates before doing any care, and care itself was swift and easy.
Very caring and proficient staff. They've taken very good care of my Henriboy.
Not very helpful......
Got my cat to pee again. If didn't they would had to turn him into a female via surgery. Lol
BEST EVER! My family pets have been treated by Peter Tropea & his team since 1987. I now live in Montreal and 12 years later I still travel to Cornwall to visit the team here with my pups. Only compassion and professional service. The St Lawrence Valley animal hospital has given all of my dogs a longer life and they don't give up. If you want to ensure that you are doing what's best for your 4 legged friends, you can count on them! The staff is amazing as well. I can't praise them enough, and have counted on them for the past 34 years!!
Great, friendly and quick service every time I've been.
A bit expensive
Amazing staff
AMAZING PEOPLE! I am giving them a perfect score here. Every single person at this location has been super helpful and a few has even went out of their way and took the time to talk with me and answer any questions I had. Even if I did ask the same question in a different way. But they were all willing to help as best they could and they treated my dog Charlie very well. She loves it there. I was a worried dog dad when she went for her spay & chip surgery but again, they took the time to walk me through the recovery process no matter how many questions I had. They even did multiple check ups for Charlie. Thank you to everyone there.
you guys killed Demon! my puppy would have made it if you haven't overdosed him!!! I heard what happened you didn't even weigh demon he was only 3 months old and you guys just lied straight to our faces that he was fine and then died the next day? YOU GUYS CAN GO TO HELL I HOPE YOU GET SHUT DOWN FOR YOUR RETARDED SERVICE!
The doctors here really, truly care about the animals. I've had to bring two of my dogs here for major surgery and both came through extremely well. The surgeon even phoned from home on his day off to make sure my dog was doing OK. I only have good things to say and will continue coming here.
Took great care of by cat pleased
Friendly and excellent care as always!
So caring
Compassionate and friendly staff. Caring professionals
Efficient with covid measures in place.
Great vet hospital, with all the latest technology. Not always inexpensive care.
Dr Natasha Smith impress me with her dedication and genuine concern about our Monty.
Fantastic experience with the team here at the St Lawrence Valley Animal hospital. The whole team were very professional and took amazing care of our puppy. Couldn’t ask for a better vet! Prices are totally reasonable and fair, but the service is what really stood out! You can tell they really care about the animals here.
very poor service, had to, go to another vet who took care of the problem in 5 minutes.vets show no empathy towards pets or owners gave dog useless tests showing nothing but obviously about the money more than the animals
They seem to be good with the animals.
Love the staff, especially NS
Refused to sell/order specialized animal food required for my pets health/life. Gave me some excuse about extreme limited quantities (2 bags for whole clinic) offered by food production companies. Had to go to Quebec to get the pet food where puzzled vets confirmed no that such "rationing" exists.
Friendly staff
Very friendly staff and the Vets are amazing.
Great staff and doctor.
Took my nieces' Great Dane after she got bite and they did a wonderful job. The vet was very helpful, provided excellent care and information.
I have had many animals and seen many vets but this one disturbed me...I had taken my male kitten to them because he wasn't urinating..when we got in, the vet sent in a student to do an exam and see what the problem was. after she talked with us she went to talk to the vet and about 10 min later the student and the vet came back. the vet examined him and talked with us for about 3 min and said his urinary tract was blocked by crystals and at that point pulled out the bill they had already drawn up b4 the vet even examined my cat and they want to do multiple ex rays and multiple other ridiculous tests and possibly catheterize my cat for the rest of his life ...it would all add up to be approximately $1500 and would probably be more than that... I said screw that I took him to my regular vet for an emergency appointment she knew immediately after I said he wasn't urinating what the problem was. they kept him for 2 nights had him on an IV drip to pump fluids through him, gave me medication and pain killer and including the emergency fee cost only $375 and my cat is perfectly fine and didn't need all that BS Tests and ex rays thank you very much! was just disgusted and hope people read this.
Absolutely no compassion for animals. Brought my dog in with a broken leg around 9:30 this morning, they didn't even get a vet to look at her just told me they were all booked up and to try Ottawa. This is very disappointing as they advertise emergency care...
Dr. Tropea is fantastic. While our vet misdiagnosed our first dog, he was able to - just by looking at her - to identify that the issue was more severe (it ended up being bone cancer). He did the same thing two weeks later with our second dog. The staff is also wonderful - genuinely seems to care...
They were quick to get our pet food.
Very knowledgeable and polite staff, always a pleasure.
Very dissapointed in their service's. They are quick to add things on your animals vet bill but cannot just tell you what you simply came in for. My grandmother brought my dog in and left paying $1400 and then tried to tell us our dog had hip dysplasia and yet he goes for walks and jumps amd runs LOL perfectly fine pup and Oh i should also add they also tried to get my grandmother with a single income to also pay $150 to keep him over night to do a urine sample then tried to down the price to $50 to bring his urine in!! They are always trying to suck you in for more instead of helping the little problems you came in for..
Doctors, techs, and staff here are all incredibly patient and understanding.
They care so much about our babies
This is a business, they are in it for the money only in my opinion! They charged me for services that my pet did not need. My pet is in pain, they don't care and I would not trust anything they gave me anyway.
Great to see Mike again.
Really excellent experience here with our dog having an ultrasound!
Called on a saturday to have my dogs back dew claws trimmed as one was poking in her pad...they told me to call back in an hour because they were busy...then they said i could come in sunday at 9am. While i was there the girl told me because they have no technicians on sunday it would cost me $90.00 plus tax as opposed to $30.00 any other day as they had it down as an emergency.....not impressed i left..wont go back....i was warned by people they are money hungry...i go to martintown now.
Great Docs and service....
Last winter my Yorkie, Pebbles, broke her elbow jumping off my sofa . I live in Montreal and brought her to the vet near my place. I don't have insurance and found the price of surgery too high! My friend who lives in Cornwall recommended SLVAH. I called them and asked for an estimate by email. My vet in Montreal sent the X-rays directly to Dr Tropea and my estimate was $1,000 less than what it would have been in Montreal . I brought Pebbles the next day, they kept her 2 nights, Dr Tropea performed the surgery and put a screw and a pin in her elbow. I followed up 5 weeks later and he confirmed that the surgery went well! The final cost was even less than the original estimate! It's been a year and there's still no sign of distress on her elbow! Thank you again to Dr Tropea and the staff at SLVAH! Yolanda
Never had a bad experience here. They listen, they react and most of all they care.
Very helpfull
great place my first visit to this vet my dogs were treated well and the cost was reasonable
Excellent service always
We found a kitten and brought him here , the doctors were so patient and loving towards him.
Great doctors. One of the best is Barbara Tomlinson. She saved my baby's life.
Great vets work here and the prices are much better then Ottawa. Worth the drive.
They are friendly and professional. I will be going back.
Caring and loving staff
St Lawrence Valley Animal Hospital has treated my dog like family since the first time we walked through their doors. I trust them with my furbaby, and drive about an hour each way for my dog’s yearly check-up. The staff are patient, attentive, and professional. Dr. Pete took terrific care of my dog when she had to have surgery for her luxating patella. We’ve continued to see Dr. Pete and the team at SLVAH ever since, and are really happy with their services. The team has reassured me when incidents such as cracked nails in the winter would occur, and made themselves available for a quick consult as needed. We can’t imagine bringing our beloved dog anywhere else for her care. Thank you SLVAH!
Today I had to let go of my best k9 friend. The vet was very impatient, cold as ice and he didnt give me anytime to say goodbye, just injected my dog the second I step foot into the room. He then came in the room after 10 mins and very bluntly told me I had to leave. Ive never gone through this before and he sure didnt make the experience any easier. I understand that vets need to avoid emotions in these cases but compassion should still be given, as Im 38 weeks pregnant and had no idea that today would be my dogs last day. I do not recommend this clinic, as they seemed more interested in taking my money rather than helping/easing my pets pain.
Thank you Dr. El-Korchi and staff for saving my "pup"! The Saturday before Christmas, my Standard Poodle, Cara, developed symptoms that included, lethargy, severe retching and obvious distress. I called the Hospital after hours and was greeted by a reassuring voice at the other end; once my concerns and Cara's symptoms were relayed, I was told that I would receive a return phone call from the doctor on call. Within minutes, Dr. El-Korchi called me and asked me to bring Cara to the Hospital immediately. When I arrived at the Hospital, Dr. El-Korchi was waiting at the front entrance, hurried Cara into the examination room and checked her out. He determined that she had a twisted stomach and operated right away, saving my precious pup's life. The good doctor called me after surgery to let me know how she did in surgery and how the condition was caught just in time! During recovery over the coming days, the staff welcomed me at the Hospital and made my visits with Cara perfect! Once home, Dr.El-Korchi called to make sure that Cara was progressing well. I can't say enough good things about Dr. El-Korchi and the staff at the Hospital. You are my vet of choice! Thank-you!!!
GREAT CARE, THERE VERY COMPASIONATE But very expensive. Check prices before committing.
The amount of bad practice done at this place is overwhelmingly high. Go ANYWHERE ELSE, if you want honesty and what's best for your pet.
They are so kind and very kind to the animals
Displeased with the treatment of my four-month-old puppy today from what was supposed to be a vaccination appointment and optional nail trim. Didn’t have issues up until this point but it was enough to cause me to bring my business elsewhere. The financial manager of the hospital is the individual whom I interacted with. Upon exiting the clinic with my dog, I was told there would be a charge for the nail trim because it took 3 people to hold down a puppy. I emphasize this experience as a negative one as I asked them to let me know if the nail trim could be done and if not, then to proceed with just the vaccination. Not to use inappropriate conduct towards a distressed animal that could become fearful from this experience. After expressing my concern for the state of my dog when she was returned to me, the manager then waived the fee, but added that it would be marked on my dogs file that she is difficult. I hope that no other client goes through what we did today.
They took such good care of our puppy when he hurt himself - excellent doctors and staff, reasonable price and so caring! Thank you!
My little chi was in bad pain and they made room for me to take her in right away. They consulted with me, explained things to me and gave me options for treatment all while keeping safety first in these hard times.
Very caring and helped my dog out now for 12 years they have taken good care of her and they still r thanks st Lawrence valley animal
Love this clinic. Compassionate, professional staff. They take amazing care of not only our own cats and dogs, but our foster cats. Prices are waaay cheaper than in Ottawa, btw! We are lucky to have this veterinary practice in Cornwall.
I've been dealing with this vet for almost 10 years and have been very happy. I've had to see the vet on an emergency basis several times over the years and they've always been there for my dogs. They were compassionate and caring when I had to put down my first dog. One of my current dogs has Addison's Disease and the compassion and care continue. The staff are friendly and the hospital is nice and clean. I recommend them!
Excellent service,very well explained process...
Dr Tropea and his team are the best.
It was okay but a little slow. There excuse was they had to many emergencies. That is not a reason to make people with appointments wait for over 1 hr. After there appointment
Dr Peter Tropea and Kayla were very helpful. Explained the procedure and answered questions and went out of their way to help us. The personal touch that you get from a small town vet. Would definitely recommend them for your animal care.
My dad brought my dog in for a simple heart worm checkup and they ended up giving my dog all kind of vaccines and tests. None of this was discussed when I made the appointment. When the bill came out to almost 400$, I was flabbergasted! When I called to complain that they did not discuss all this extra with me, they told me I should have been present and that I could return the flea/heart worm medication that was 170$. Why would I return heart worm med when that was the reason she went to the vets?! There won't be a next time for any of my animals!
Dr Tropea and all the staff at the St Lawrence Valley Animal Hospital are responsible for saving my dog's life. I was so impressed by the dedication and care given at every visit and have recommended them to several people. Although we can't control the flukes and mix-ups in the world that lead to our animals becoming sick or injured it makes things a lot easier when there are professionals that you can trust. Dr Tropea and all the staff are people you can trust to give the love and care to your pet in the same way that you would. Amazing people doing amazing work.
Great service, friendly staff
Very impressed with the care they have given our little Boston, top notch.
We love it there. They are always kind and compassionate.
