Generally I find myself waiting in a line of 5 or 6 people with only one cashier. Other times I have stood at the checkout counter for 5 to 10 minutes alone waiting for a cashier. I will not support self checkout. I’ve actually avoided shoppers for so long I don’t think I’ve been there in 6 months. Ive gone into shoppers several times looking for an electronic item on sale in the flyer which they never have. Why advertise it in the flyer if you don’t carry it?

After moving to Elliot lake I had my prescriptions transferred to this location. What a bad idea. Prices are CRAZY!!! Staff is uneducated. And wait times are pathetic. 24 hrs to be filled.? Think it’s time to transfer my business to Rexalls.

Seems every time we get told to come in at a certain time and day we arrive and our prescriptions are never ready. Also if there’s a problem with a prescription they never try to correct it. I’ll gladly take the half hour drive to Castlegars Shoppers as they are much friendlier people and are correct on their dates and times!!

Great store with amazing staff, it just really makes me boil that it opens later than other stores and closes at six, as well as opening at 9am. As a diabetic I need access to a pharmacy almost all the time. Like this morning, went to fill my insulin pump and dropped a vial of insulin (last one) which shattered. Great staff tho

The selection varies from store to store in their electronic department. This particular establishment did not have a great electronics selection. However overall this store is above average. Great service! The new owner has a bad influence, she worked at Rexall before and treats clients very poorly if nobody is nearby. Argues about everything, yet is all sweet and pleasant in front of a crowd. She is lazy and sneaky. The store is the usual SDM set-up, the cashiers are very helpful, pharmacy staff do their best but there is a constant turnover of people, so nobody knows you even if you are there most weeks. Staff part time pharmacists are excellent. Post office trained staff are terrible. incompetent and slow. Best to go to central Post office building for parcels, or use the mailboxes for letters.

I have been racially profiled in this Shoppers not once, not twice, but thrice now. 3 different incidents in less than a year. That says a lot. It's like (some of) the staff thinks I'm out to steal whenever I come here. Why ask to inspect my bag, and not the others'? What about me makes you think I'm a shoplifter? Can't think of anything but my race. Awful and humiliating. The only reason I ever come here is because of the lack other options. Otherwise, I would never set foot in this place ever again.

The pharmacist lady was rude and embarassed my family member with many customers standing around. She complained about other peoples preacriptions and how she needed to take her sandwhich out of the fridge. This was at 830pm as my family member was in dire need of ventolin which the pharmacist said she didnt have, which she was holding in her hand. We will never go back thanks to her poor customer service. It was a nightmare.

Tonight I got off work from the nursing home I've worked at for 20 years. It was extremely hot today and I work in dietary so it was extra hot. I've had anxiety as long as I can remember, shopping is very hard for me. So I sometimes look at something and look at something else while I think about it, and come back. Every single time I'm in the makeup section I hear the same announcement, and suddenly some young girl is asking me if I want help. That is the last thing I want. So it's blasted across the store like I'm trying to steal and you have someone come check on me. If I want help I will ask someone for it. Do you guys ever think about the fact not everyone wants attention called to them, that you are making it uncomfortable for some people to shop? That I'm not stealing, I'm making a decision. Now because of my anxiety, I will spend the rest of the night upset because I was reading razor packs to see what ones to get, not stealing

Where to start with this lot? Well, they are incredibly slow at counting pills, dropping them in containers and handing them over. Everything seems to take at least 30 minutes, just enough time to spend more money in their store. If your medications are backordered, do not expect phone call....it will not happen, neither will they attempt to find alternative medication.Try to find another pharmacy, because these guys are hopeless.

Do Shopper’s Drug Mart or other pharmacies frequently run out of Rx medications like ibuprofen and common antibiotics? Because these guys do. Delivery is terrible. I’ve bought frozen foods only to find them completely rotten or freezer burned when I open them at home. They sometimes trick you with the sale bins and stock them full of ridiculously-priced frozen food where it looks like they’re on sale. The delivery driver once slammed the door on my dog’s head because she said was scared of dogs—probably the wrong line of work to be in for her. I hate giving bad ratings, but come on.

Stood in line up of 6 people waiting to checkout. Only one cashier handling cash and lottery purchases. Other cashier standing at self-checkout to help credit and debit customers, but no one using that checkout. She did not come over to open use another till to help with the lineup of customers. Likely told by management they want to force us to use self-checkout. So we were waiting and waiting as the single cashier struggles to serve us. We can't use self-checkout because it is a cash purchase. Finally I left store and went next door to Rexall to make my purchase. Quick service at checkout there. When a store installs self-checkouts they are not interested in providing convenience. They want to reduce employee wages at the expense of customer service. Avoid those machines like you do the illnesses you usually have to go to the drugstore to treat.

Just moved here. I have been getting my Dad's prescriptions filled with Shoppers Drug Mart for close to 40 years. My Dad gets his blister pack medications from the pharmacy. We have moved twice in the last 6 months and been traveling for a year across Canada. Due to our criminally negligent health care system, my Dad has been placed in several situations of nearly running out of his medications because of the deplorable care at walk in clinics. Every Shoppers that I have asked whether they would give Dad a week of his blister packs because of this situation has shown great compassion and loaned us a week, until we obtained the prescriptions. This Shoppers was the only Shoppers across Canada that refused and as a result my Dad is going to be left without his medications that could have devastating consequences.

The smoker was a female Shoppers Drug Mart employee wearing the blue shirt. She was standing outside beside the in door. The manner and level of customer service was absolutely disgraceful. I am so disgusted in the attitude presented to me by 2 pharmacists that I want to complain to a higher level. Normally I am quite pleased with the service I get in this store but yesterday I was thoroughly disappointed ☹️. I had to pick up a prescription from my cardiologist who had sent it to them on Wednesday. It was ready for pickup yesterday afternoon which was great. I paid for it and stated to the cashiers that I have never used this before, could the pharmacist take a moment to inform me of what I needed to know. She said absolutely and asked the pharmacist to speak with me. After watching him continue to fill 3 more prescriptions and was reminded that I was waiting he continued on. I finally left after waiting for 10 minutes. Done ranting.

Highly dangerous for seniors not paying attention or poor eyesight whom dont notice. They don't keep my prescription on hand, so requested I call in 24 hrs in advance. I did that, but when I went to pick it up the next day, they said they didn't have it, hadn't ordered it, and it wouldn't be available until the following day. I needed it now. When I asked what my options were for getting it today, I was told they couldn't help me, there was nothing they could do, and that I just needed to wait until the next day. The lack of care and compassion was blatant. The woman was more interested in telling me it wasn't her fault that the medicine wasn't available than she was in helping me to get it. I called Walmart Pharmacy a few blocks away and they had it on the shelf. Walmart had my perscription transfered and I picked it up 20 min later. But there was nothing Shoppers Drug Mart could do!

Such a bad experience i ever had. No customer service skills. Its a complaint about the passport photo which was not taken properly- too much shadow on the face as well as it was not cut properly first time, the lines of cutting are visible and i came back all the way from my home to set it. And then the lady cut the picture diagonal it was not the size i needed. I was so disappointed because i went back to get my refund and the lady said their is nobody who can help me with it. I went back from my break and my problem was not solved. You guys needed to get a professional and good employees who can satisfy the customers need. I went there three times and still they could not helped me. Awful services.

I sincerely wish I could give this store a negative rating (pharmacy, specifically). I am absolutely appalled by the complete incompetence, and utter stupidity of the employees here - and it appears I’m not the only one who thinks this. They do not give a F*** about anyone and have a complete disregard for even the most basic of customer service skills. For the few months that I used their services, they managed to mess up EVERY single transaction I had with them. If you’re reading this, use Boggio’s Pharmacy in Port Colborne - they actually care.

I left a review a few years back about this place being racist and unprofessional. Cant seem to find it anywhere. Haven't been here in awhile. Hoping they changed for the better. Here's bascially my old review: Walked into this shoppers and instantly saw someone staring at me. I am ideginous, so I can understand why they would be cautious. Honestly thought they would come over and offer help, but instead they kept watching me from a distance. I immdiently felt vey uncomfortable, couldn't shop properly. Ended up pulling out my phone to lessen the awkwardness and so I wasnt tempted to keep looking back at them. Thought eventually they would leave me alone, but I was there for a bit and they were still following me, hiding behind the shelves, preteding to be doing something else. You would think after watching me for so long theyd come to a conclusion im not a thief, but no, I was literally standing around on my phone doing nothing for 30mins and they were watching me like a hawk. I have insecurities and anxiety so I was at this point I just wanted to burst into tears. Decided I don't deserve to be treated like that. Made no purchases and just left. Im surpised they didnt send someone after me, after I left the store to make sure I didnt take anything.. Their makeup gurus are super friendly though. Now when I visit, I stick to the makeup side of the store only. Too scared I'll be treated poorly again. I just go to the shoppers down on second if I need anything now.

Are the staff working on commission? One of ONLY two pharmacies that dispense methadone, or one of its derivatives; in a huge area of small town Ontario.. It is a 3 hr & 43 minute drive from me, and if the highway wasn't closed in the other direction my only other choice is over an hour away. Are there closer pharmacies? Definitely. Do they dispense methadone, or any equivalent derivative? No, they do not..

By far the best pharmacy in the area the pharm techs are knowledgable, friendly and genuinely care about you as a person something lacking in many of the other pharmacies in the area. On Top of the pharmacy Shoppers has a great selection of other personal and household needs the prices in many cases are better than the bigger box stores. The ability to customize your client card online is a great feature you pick what sale items your interested in and load those discount coupons onto your card this gives you even more discounts than other stores. In nelson they are open really late 10pm most days so you can grab both off the counter and behind the counter items you might be in need of when other stores are closed

Bought a 75$ gel nail kit, the gel polish was rock hard. Went in to ask about an exchange, got told off (literally to go away) until the virus was over to ask a manager, but was advised that they wouldn't help me either. ?? Ok.. every time I started to ask a question I got interrupted and told off by the makeup counter clerk, Alison. Wouldn't answer any questions I had, just repeatedly told to leave until I gave up. Absolutely disgusting behavior, I understand that everyone is having a rough time but there's no need to treat people so badly. Anyways 0/10 horrible experience.

I was told 15 minutes to wait for my script but it turned into 1 hour and 20 minutes later!! Upon checking the whereabouts of my meds at 15 minutes, all 6 people behind the counter couldn't serve me, was ignored and then told to step aside so another customer could be served! my 'script wasn't ready yet....1 hour later, my unhelpful pharmacists clerk couldn't find my meds and forgot my name. When they finally did get it to me it was more waiting to talk to another person who was standing around talking to one of the other 6 people practically the whole hour l was waiting!! Very disappointing customer service. I shant get any more scripts filled here unless I absolutely have to after hours.

In store everything is ok. But if you ever try calling the post office which is here at shoppers you'll need to call shoppers themselves and ask them to tell the people at the post office to pick up the phone. I've been calling at least once a week for 2 months and they won't pick up. Fix this add a ring or a light to their phone so they answer the phone please!

Had my son's prescription faxed over from his dermatologist yesterday went to go pick it up was told I'd have to come get it first thing in the morning and that it would be ready I got there in the morning prescription not ready and then to find out it wasn't even anything they needed to mix it was just a tube of cream they had to put a label on my son didn't sleep at all from the discomfort in amount of pain he was in because he couldn't get his prescription.

I have been trying for 5 months to have my prescription filled with the proper medication After trying for 3 months I was told it was on backorder the 4th month I was told it was on the next order... Still not available... 5 months I was told I could pick it up on Saturday I went in on the following Monday to pick up said prescription and was told again that it was not available.. It is a commonly prescribed drug ..to say that this is ridiculous would be an understatement.. I have been a Patron of shoppers drug mart throughout the province for 20 plus years but but we'll no longer be using their pharmacy

The one star is for the Young man at the counter as you walk in, he's always freindy and inviting. This Saturday morning I was in the store and found the cashier in a foul mood looking unkept and dragging herself around sighing with indifference. For the most part it's something I'm use to in this store. I don't usually review negativity but today I'm making an exception as I'm sure there are many capable people in port Colborne who would love to work there. This shoppers is the worst i have been to. The pharmacist (bigger guy with glasses) is always so rude! They have messed up my birth control twice now.. not sure if these people know what they are talking about. one time they gave me a generic brand and told me it was the exact same but decided to give me this one cause i didn't have coverage at the time. It was not at all the same and completely messed up my cycle. I didn't mind paying the extra for what i wanted they didn't give me that option.. that was last year. Then on Friday i went in for 3 refills and the lady told me my Dr. only gave me a script for 3 packs which was odd cause he always gives me a year supplies worth. So i didn't get the script i needed to start on Sunday. I went to my Dr. first thing Monday morning he showed me the script he gave me (the one shoppers already had) and it said 3 refills... so he gave me a new script and even circled the 3 refills part and laughed like wow... When i told the girl that my pills now got messed up because i was supposed to have 2 more refills and i didn't get them on time she was like well you have this script now right... that wasn't the point i wouldn't have had to get that script and i wouldn't be behind in pills if they did their job correctly. Not to mention when i was standing in line this gentlemen pulls some vitamins off the shelf and asked "are these chewable?" the pharmicist says "well they are gummies so ya!" in a rude tone like the customer was a dummie. Some people cant read completely especially older people or if they are picking it up for someone else they want to make sure its the right thing. No question is a stupid question especially when it is about medication.

Poor customer service at the pharmacy. The lack of effort to help me with my request was zero, just a "No, we can't do that." Wasn't even busy, didn't ask one question, pharmacist never got off the chair, not another person in the store to be seen. Will not ever step into that pharmacy again.

Worst pharmacy in Kenora. Very slow. They magically "haven't received" faxed in prescriptions on 2 occasions, even though the fax was confirmed "received" by the original sender / fax machine. Very frustrating when a person has driven a hour into town to get the prescription. Save yourself a lot of headaches, find another pharmacy.

A go to place for anything from grocery items to pharmaceuticals. The store almost always has a special on. They have good prices on most items they sell but not on everything. They have seasonal items that make them one the places to go in town if your looking for something unique, I know ! it's a drug store... but its true. The last few times I have had to get prescription refills it has been a nightmare. I don't know what is happening. When Stephen or Susan are working, things run smoothly, but any other time it's ridiculous. I drop off a prescription and they tell me to come back in an hour and a half, so I do. Then they say it's not ready or they can't find anything on file. They need to get organized, too many new faces all the time at night and they have no organizational skills. Some are very rude as well. Why does the girl who takes your prescription always ask what is it for???

So disappointed today with shoppers, I've never had a bad experience at this location before. I came in the store just before closing and was told very rudely that they were closing. I asked if I could quickly grab what I was looking for. The item I was looking for was moved, I asked for some help I did get some help but the clerks were a little impatient, I though of one more item I needed and veered to find it until the supervisor made a rude announcement the pay for my items because they were closing. Never ever have I been treated like that anywhere. Your Supervisor needs a little patience when ushering customers out the door. I usually buy all my cosmetics there but from now on I will be shopping elsewhere.

Shopper's is a delightful combination of the everyday and the deluxe. You might be trudging inside for Kleenex and Tums but the Cosmetic Counter lady greets you like a celebrity! Designer fragrances bring back the frisson of department stores from days gone by. The staff is caring and friendly which means a great deal during Christmas in the Age of Covid. The Post Office serves the customers with true grace.

I am a senior and visited your Fort Eire store today. I had 5 items to pick up and tried to get a basket to put them in. I could not separate the baskets as they were jammed together. I then went to get a cart. No problem getting a cart but there was nothing available to use as a disinfectant or wipes to wipe these carts down. I realize these are trying times but you are open to provide necessary services and I would expect as a pharmacy you would better protect your customers. Maybe you should visit Sobies to see how it is done.

Pharmacist 10/10 Beauty side of the store has great staff for the most part, but our last visit in, we could hear the staff talking VERY negatively about one of their staff giving our hand fulls of samples to customers, it was clear to see the current staff was jealous as she completely told her manager everything this girl was doing wrong and she wasnt thinking about the "customers needs" because she wasnt telling them what the samples do for them. But that cashier obviously didnt care about her customers either as I dont think it was very professional to OPENLY and LOUDLY broadcast employee problems in front of guests!!!! beauty 1/10.

I do not understand why it takes 2 days to fill a script and then when you get there you still have to wait. I have called it in myself they tell you the time to pick it up and when I get there still have to wait. I worked for shoppers for 24 yrs. and find this just awful. Will definitely be having my scripts transferred to another pharmacy. Shoppers is very expensive, am a senior and only go in there on senior days anymore.

The Shoppers at the Cornwall Square, is my favourite. The selection of make up is great. The make up staff is helpful and friendly. I also go there for any prescriptions. I really do not know why I go to Shoppers Drug Mart in Fort Erie, some of the staff there are so rude. I went there today with my daughter to get a prescription . I went with my daughter because she was diagnosed with a mild intellectual disability so she is not very good around people. We were lined up just outside the door and when it got to our turn to go in the lady manning the door was not very nice about the fact two of us were going in. This is not the first time I have been spoken to in a harsh tone, I think I am going to start going somewhere else for my drugs in future.

I've never been to Nelson Shoppers Drug mart but I've always gotten good service from their stores in other cities. However this one in Nelson was not a friendly place to go. I had a few items to pay for as I was leaving so I naturally stopped at the tills by the door where I entered. I was about to pay & the attendant asked me if I needed a prescription. I said "no" & that I only needed to pay for the things I had in my hands. He acted offended like I'd disrespected him for even approaching his till. He said with a rude attitude that I needed to pay at the other tills where there was people waiting to help me -- his attitude suggesting it was an offense to bother him for anything but a prescription. Despite his rudeness I thanked him & headed for the "other tills" where there were NO other people. The "other" tills were empty with no other employees in sight & nobody to ask further assistance from except the guy who had just told me to get someone at the other tills attend to me. There were no people lined up for prescriptions, there was only two other customers in the store & they were busy looking for stuff. Finding nobody to assist me at the tills I was sent to -- I put all my items back on the shelves where I got them & quietly left as I did not want to experience any further humiliation. Normally I'd have forgotten the offended pharmacist by now but his rudeness set up an unnecessary situation where my fingers are in pain right now that would not have been a problem were I able to cover them with the band aides I tried to buy -- but was unable to find someone to take my money. I hope this note may help this store to develop a better customer service program. They won't see me or my business again but perhaps they'll be able to teach their staff how to be decent to customers even if they are not there for the big ticket items that day. They will never get to find out just how much stuff I buy. I've lived in this area for slightly less than a month & one visit from me was handled so badly it secured for "Shoppers Drug Mart" a future without any of my business. Well done! It's important for me not to waste a 45 minute drive to Nelson on businesses that are so prosperous they can afford not to care about customers.

very unimpressed. went to fill a prescription today. was told it would take 1/2h, took over 1h 5min. after 35min I was told it would be 1 min longer and they hadn't even started mixing it yet. I was in a rush and would have appreciated more honesty than that. when it was ready there was no paperwork included that usually explains what the medication is for and side effects etc... neither the pharmacist nor the pharmacy assistant took any bit of time to explain the medication, how often to take it, etc... very disappointing and lacking in customer service.

went to see my doctor on a Monday, he unfortunately was on holiday. My high blood pressure pills needed refill. So as usual shoppers drug mart was my go to place. have been a client of theirs for years. In the past when requiring a short refill to get me by until I can see my own doctor, there has been no problem. On this day the young women behind the refill desk wanted nothing to do with assisting me, then projecting her attitude toward the pharmacist, who then promptly rejected my refill, which had run out that day. If they don't want to be in the business of assisting the public they should look for work else where, I have since moved my business and will be recommending others to do the same.

I am an asthmatic. I ran out of my Ventolin inhaler (smoke filled air) and this was the only pharmacy open. I asked the pharmacist to please give me an inhaler and I would send my script over in the morning. She refused to do this and treated me horribly. I was clear and concise, maintained professionalism and even ended the conversation with a "Thank you". I find it even more dispicable that my review was deleted from this website.

I love shoppers drug mart in Nelson, but today for the first time I had a poor experience while trying to purchase a over the counter pain medication for a family member. When asking if I could purchase them from the Pharmacy till I was told to go to the front till, despite it being very slow in the store no customer at the tills. I don't think the cashier can answer my questions, I went to the till as directed but was not happy I don't think I'll shop go in when the new pharmacy lady is working I suppose I'm spoiled by the usual service from the existing staff.

So frustrated, store owner Ana Lees unapologetic, 3 weeks to get monthly medical supplies, put you on hold and forget about you, no advance phone call of delivery, not at home, product goes back to store and nobody calls you to follow up, told my phone was out of service, wrong product ordered - have to wait another 3 weeks UNBELIEVABLE!!! Switching to REXALL, they can have product in store within 2 days of request and free delivery, talking with them on the phone, they asked if it would be okay to put me on hold - at last - some courtesy!

I just had surgery in Kenora and had to get an escort to drive me home. After release it had to pick up meds. The doctor wrote over the counter recommendations. But the pharmacist charged me an additional $12 for an $8 bottle of Ibupropen and an additional $12 for an $11 bottle of extra strength Tylenol. Talked to pharmacist and he said too bad we fill them quick. He said they ask if you have coverage but I wasnt even conscious enough to enter store and the driver sure didnt know. Watch this Pharmacy as if you can get it over the counter they won't advise you like other pharmacies. This one just wants your money.
