I trust this place. My cat has diabetes and they were able to make it so I could take his blood at home because he has severe anxiety. Although I wish they let me know that was an option at the beginning instead of having to bring him in for 8hrs every two weeks, which traumatized him. I don't blame them to go with the standard and try to make money. As soon as I opened up with my concerns they worked around what I needed. They are very busy a lot of the time, which also I don't blame them for at all, it's a good thing and they are busy for a reason. Even if they are, they still call me back and are there for me when I need them. <3

Always try and accommodate us when we have an issue. Although, for being a patient for years now, we often have to wait a week or more to be seen when it's a very urgent issue. Forcing us to seek care elsewhere. Doctors and staff are very kind and patient with our pups.

What a wonderful place!.. The kindness and compassion shown to me yesterday when I had to bring my cat Taz to see them was beyond words.. Dr. Angela Bell was absolutely amazing!!.. She explained things to me completely and with genuine concern as to his well being and mine.. She made sure that Taz was cared for in the best possible manner.. I am forever grateful... Not only was Dr. Bell wonderful but the entire staff team made my stressful day less stressful and was so much appreciated.. I have no words to describe my gratitude other than THANK YOU!!.. We brought our cat in because he was having some urinary issues. The vet and staff were fantastic with our Mr. Mischief and with us as we were very concerned. They were more than happy to answer all of our questions and address all of our concerns. They even called us a few days after our visit to check up on his condition. While it's cheaper here than most vets. They are completely careless and uninformed. Because of their negligence and incompetence my mother's dog had to be put down. If you're looking to save a buck by all means but seek multiple opinions if it's something seriously plaguing your pet.

This place is great!! My experiences so far have been awesome. The staff is very accommodating when it comes to scheduling. Because I'm in school I've had to reschedule my appointments so many times! And no one gave me any issues with that. Wait times if needed are pretty short. Prices- VERY GOOD!! I come from Mississauga and from there to here... It's a hell of a lot cheaper! I have already recommended a few friends take their pets here while we're in ridgetown, that's how much I like it.

Open seven days a week. Cheapest prices around. This is also why they don’t get 5 stars. Things get a little overbooked. 24 hr emergency is also forwarded to Windsor, which for some is difficult. Still, doctors and staff are great and deserve a pat on the back.

I've been to many animals hospitals. This one isn't best and never was there for us in time of emergency. Fees are not acceptable. Toronto is much cheaper. I lived there. I've been to other vet in Chatham and they're better. Vets at this hospital aren't good with dogs for shots. My three dogs were totally calm at other. This hospital. All three dogs cried and barked a lot when getting shots. They missed alot of ticks when checking them. Misinformation about fees and shots etc. It was not acceptable experience. Even called to complain and there weren't any response. If you love your pets ... Go somewhere else.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who really loves their pets like they are family. Went to this place for more than 6+ years, they have messed up several times and have slowly gone downhill. Nice at first when you are a new patient but once they have you as a client they really couldn't care less. They are friendly enough but friendly doesn't matter when you are paying for and actually need proper veterinary care. If you just need basic care- like core shots they are probably mediocre for that. If your pet needs anything further than basic yearly shots they are possibly ok- will try to upsell you with nonsense but I wouldn't trust them with anything else. Even with just a yearly check up I also wouldn't trust them as they don't really do a proper check up and catch things that could lead into bigger issues. They certainly don't go above and beyond to look after your animals, they will do the bare minimum every time and won't further investigate into anything that might be wrong that you have brought up or show concerns over. They are extremely understaffed, wait times are ridiculous and although there is a fake air of caring when you need actual veterinary care for your pets they will fail you and fall short. They won't help in emergency situations either that just leaves you in a difficult place- I would recommend going to another vet in town that actually offers full services and are available when you need them.

The quality of care has greatly declined recently. My dog was misdiagnosed twice in the last 4 months for 2 separate issues. We have been clients for the past 4 years but after our recent terrible experience we will no longer return and have sought care elsewhere. Would not reccomend based on the poor quality of care, the price of assessment, the overcharge on medications, and the high turnover rate of veterinarians that go through this clinic like a revolving door.

Personally, my cats and I have had a good experience there. However, just recently when I was dog sitting for my parents, they were given my mother's credit card information for emergencies, as their dog is very old and anything could happen. Their dog was dying in our care from old age, we call for help and they TURN US AWAY saying they are booked and informed us to drive to Windsor for help AND if the dog needed a procedure, they could not do so unless the dogs owner was present. My mother made sure that the credit card information FOR Merritt Animal Hospital and that all decisions made for their dog were given to me and my boyfriend. This was not honoured while the dog was in our care. Then when we asked for the credit card information they said that's it's confidential and could not be passed on. My parents were away in Russia and have minimal contact. We are VERY angry and upset with the way Merritt handled our situation. We will not be returning.

I am slightly disappointed in the fact that you hold no appointment times for emergencies for your clients. We visit with our pets regularly and when you tell me that we have to wait an entire week to be seen for an issue that needs dealing with in a timely manner it's frustrating. Over all the service we have received here has been kind and friendly and that's why we will continue to visit. However, my recommendation would be to hold emergency vacancy for your clients. It's not right that they have to search of all Chatham for an appointment only to be told no one will see them. Which is generally the rule of thumb, as most vets require a physical exam for the animal to be seen. I hope you take this input into consideration. Thank you.

The doctors are knowledgable, but they are on a rotating shift between multiple clinics so you dont always have the same vet. Also, if tests are ordered, results wont be given except by the doctor who ordered it, so you have to wait until the ver rotates back to your clinic. A test that you can get results within a few days so.etimes takes a week or two.

On August 1st. I had to put my cat down due to a parasite. I googled it after. He was vomiting so much he got an ulsar and puked nothing but blood and hid plus was unresponsive to my calls. When i called to ask to bring in a fecal sample to see if he had a parasite, They said the vet was fully booked. But it goes to lab anyways...Im truly missing my 1 year old cat. I suggest to not go here, because its better to see a vet that knows what they are doing and try to help whats wrong and be pricey. But at least with the pricey vets they will help u. And plus merrit doesnt have a emergency vet after hours here in chatham, its in windsor.. i also suggest u goto another vet that has after hours emergency vet that comes to ur home... This place isnt worth losing an animal u truly love.

This Clinic is the best U have dealt with in a very long time, they are caring and understanding with an amazing staff. My disabled dog pulls me in to see them and it is very refreshing to find the whole staff cares more about the animal they making a buck. So impress iwish they were people doctor too lol. All my animals go there and their wellness plans are great, it might seem like we'll earned money going to waist but it isnti for it does cover cost most scrape and scrounge for. If looking for a vet clinic I highly recommend this one and I have worked with many. HaventH found this much care in 10 years, give ebdlessstars if I could!

Great place went for the first time today... Our dog got bit by a cat on Christmas and we had been treating her wound but felt the heeling process and discoulouration of the area was not quite right. We rather bring her in and be safe rather than sorry they got us in that day and were very friendly ...and up front and didn't push any extra costs on us like some vet places do. Turns out she didnt need any antibiotics and we could just get polysporin to continue treating it.Will continue to use this vet.

I have used the services of the Merritt Animal Hospital for the care of my 2 German Shepherds ; Santa Fe and Zephyr. They have been professional and compassionate in all situations that have occurred since my first visit to their offices . Dr . Mall and the staff tended to my beautiful Santa Fe from the time I was lucky enough to rescue her until she it was time for her to cross the "Rainbow Bridge " . At that unhappy time they held my hand and consoled me in my time of grief . Zephyr has had some serious health issues including a rare allergy that was treated successfully as well as life saving surgery to repair a blockage in his digestive tract . Again the professionals went above and beyond the call. I would recommend this clinic to anyone. G W

Just booster shots today, but staff was very friendly. Service was fast and professional. The Dr. made sure we were informed about any possible side effects the pup might experience. As a side note, they asked my permission before offering her a treat, which I think, just shows how professional and respectful they are at this location. Overall a GREAT VISIT.

Adopted a kitten from PAWZ. He will ill with upper respiratory infection. Made an appt. and kitty saw Dr Nick(during COVID so we were not in appt) Dr Nick was quite informative and thorough..came home with meds and tests were done to rule out any serious illness. After meds were done I called as kitty still has some issues. I spoke with first receptionist who told me I should contact another vet as they couldn't see kitty for 1-2 weeks. I asked a few questions about continuing a certain med and she promised to speak with Dr and call me back that day...almost 2 weeks passed...I called and spoke with someone else and voiced my disappointment and she was going to pass the message on and have someone contact me...over 1 week has passed...this is EXTREMELY frustrating as I spent almost $500 on tests and meds and now I need to start all over with another vet.

Lets review I can walk in pick up my dogs Sympatica Trio Flee pill not even speak to the vet and pay the inflated price they charge. But they draw the line when I ask for a prescription to order this same product from a LEGITIMATE pharmacy and call it safety all so they can milk another $47 out of my pocket. Simply Disappointed in this business practice.

This is what I received when I brought up the issue as to why am I here for a second visit when all of this could and should have been done in 1 visit. My 1st question was why am I paying a second service fee for a second visit? 2nd question Y only give me enough meds she get through 3 days when I should have had enough to get through a week 3rd question, Why not do a pee sample and an x-ray in the same visit, to look for the same problem. It all stems down to one grand question why are you having me come back when it's not necessary, and they agreed and sent me this, yet they still double charged me. And he agreed all should have been done in 1 visit they should have waved the second service fee instead of asking me to not come back. Even after i been with them for years and giving work to them on 2 dogs and 1 cat $50 service fee will get you the boot does not seem right
