I had an extraction today. It was less eventful and less anxiety for me then I've had during appointments for just fillings. Dr MacLellan was very fast removing the tooth. I will definitely be going back to his office if I require a surgeon again.

Dr MacLellan, is hands down the best dentist I have been too! He has amazing bedside manner, especially in dealing with someone who has a phobia of dentist. He hummed and was able to keep me calm while extracting 2 teeth. Both nurses were MORE than accommodating with me. Explaining everything as they were going, while also keeping me calm. It was an unfortunate event to have my teeth pulled but I'm beyond grateful to have been fortunate enough to get it done.

The secretary "Heather" was extremely rude and because of this I'm not sure i will ever be back. This was the most degraded I've ever felt as a person, ever in my life!! I tried to engage with her even while being EXTREMELY nervous of having to be there, said good morning, asked how her morning was. No reply.. She told me to go over to the paper she had out and sign it, never made eye contact, never explained the paper, never asked a question or allowed me to ask COVID questions even while I was trying to explain I'm amongst the high risk category, ignored me other than telling me to sign papers and then rudely told me to sit down in the waiting office. I was in tears when I sat down, scared to be there in the first place and ashamed - never having ever felt so belittled. The customer that came in behind me, she engaged in conversation, immediately. Talking about how nice of a day it was, explaining their insurance coverage and overall she was extremely kind and professional to them. I was shocked that it was the same person I just spoke to not even 60 seconds prior, and I was disappointed realizing I was not entitled to her kindness for what reason I still don't know. The doctor himself is an amazing tentative doctor who tries to help his patients to the best of his ability. I've had the "pleasure" of seeing him 3 separate times and all have been fantastic with both him and the nurse who works along side him however because of what I experienced with the receptionist, I will take my next round of work elsewhere and asked to be referred to Matt Shaffneurs office It costs nothing for Heather to be kind, she has no idea what that patient is going through and how she treated me was the farthest from professional and is borderline discriminatory. I hope she learns to offer the same level of conversation and overall kindness and compassion to all customers, whether patients are paying out of pocket, have insurance or on social assistance, everyone deserves the same level of kindess, compassion and empathy, especially in the medical field. What a horrible, horrible feeling.
