I generally don't bother with reviews of this nature, but in this case I feel it is necessary. I made an appointment with my Dr. It was a fight to get the receptionist to make the appointment, but she finally made it for a Friday. I get to the office and am sitting waiting for my time. After about 10 minutes an older gentleman gets up to see how much longer. His appointment was already 20 minutes late. The receptionist informed him that it wouldn't be long as the nurse practitioner was just about caught up. This perked my ears...nurse practitioner? Hmmm...So then he commented "no, I have an appointment with Dr. Eskandar". The receptionist replied "she doesn't work Fridays. Friday appointments are with the practitioner". This made me really curious now as I specifically remember calling to make an appointment with my Dr. Not with a practitioner. I asked the receptionist if the Dr. doesn't work Fridays' is she planning on coming in just for me? The receptionist laughed and informed us that all Friday appointments are with the NP and not the Dr.
I'm sorry, I'm sure the NP is perfectly qualified. But when a patient calls to make an appointment and the appointment is made with someone OTHER THAN THE DOCTOR, the patient should be informed to then decide if they would make that appointment or make an appointment for another day.
