We went to a different dental office who specializes on kids, though they have a great reception for the kids, the experience we got was not that pleasing. We found Dr Harry's office through recommendations from a mom group on Facebook. My daughter who is 7 is very anxious about dentist visits, but Dr Harry assured us that she will have a good experience. Except for the 13 years I lived away from Kitchener-Waterloo, I have been seeing Dr. Harry, Dr. Helen and now their extended staff for my dental care since they started their practice back in the late 1980s. They are a wonderful, family-run business who always take the time to greet you personally, ask about your family and inquire about your personal life, which always puts you at ease. Their staff are friendly, professional and always go the extra mile to make sure any inquiries you have, or paperwork you need is thoroughly taken care of. These days, unless I have an emergency, I see Dr. Mike. He is an excellent dentist. He is caring and beyond good at his job. My mouth was in a terrible state when I moved back to Waterloo. Dr. Mike immediately put together a comprehensive treatment plan and set about repairing and rebuilding my mouth within a year, using methods that were manageable for me both physically and financially. For a while I was going in for work almost every week, but no matter the task, he always took the time to explain the plan of attack for each day and talk me through not just what to expect, but the procedure itself as he is performing it. That always allows me to feel relaxed while he's working. I now have a wonderfully rebuilt smile that looks so close to my original teeth, it's hard to believe Dr. Mike didn't know me 15 years ago! I used to be embarrassed to smile, but I'm back to being happy to smile at people, thanks to the care and hard work of Dr. Mike and all of the terrific staff at de Man & Höediono. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to absolutely anyone.

If I’m being honest, I had some issues with work I had done here in the past. However, the owners worked very hard to make it right and offer excellent customer service. Dr H is very kind and gentle as a dentist and really impressed me with his dentistry skills. He does a great job making you feel comfortable as a patient and putting you at ease. The service and care received at the dental clinic was much more than expectations. At each step of the process, everyone was very courteous and ensured that I was at ease about the treatment. The reception desk helped me in understanding the process of getting my x-rays from another dental clinic. They also explained about how the coverage works and why they need to send certain documents by mail whereas others could be sent electronically. A wonderful, welcoming facility. My family have been patients here for over 10 years minus 3 years when we lived elsewhere and, boy, did we miss coming here. Everyone, including the administrative staff, is fantastic. My 2 young kids have no qualms about going for their appointments with Drs. de Man and Hoediono even after having a couple of fillings in and one emergency visit. I had a cleaning service and mentioned my concern about a discoloration in my gum. It was weird that the hygienist explained she couldn't find my X-ray while I had a filling service on that side in their office just few months ago. So, they simply ignored it and said it should be fine. I ended up having gum infection within a week. They only care about the money and a fancy office. their $30 fluoride therapy is mandatory with cleaning while essential examinations are simply ignored! UPDATE: Thank you for the polite reply. I may need some clarification: I explicitly asked the hygienist whether fluoride therapy is optional and she told me that we do for every customer. She didn't say any opt-out. The only question that she asked me about the flavor. $30 is not a problem. However, I felt my dental health is not the priority in this clinic. I felt I'm offered hair products in a haircut shop. Maybe, there is a HR problem. Maybe your policy gives a commission to the employees as sale agents. Based on your reply about the X-ray, we should investigate one scenario: 1) Before my filling, I requested another office to email the pictures to you. I was told that your clinic received them. If not, working on my tooth without a good OPG x-ray has risen a new question. During my filling in February, I have never been told that you have not my X-rays. It was important specially as I a root canal in the same side of the practice.

I don't know many people who actually enjoy going to the dentist, but this practice makes it a pleasant experience where you feel like your comfort and health is the priority. You can choose to watch the overhead monitors, or instead gaze out into the tranquil yard where squirrels, rabbits, and occasionally deer stop by to pay a visit. Dr. Harry is a jovial, fun-loving character who puts people at ease immediately. Dr. Helen has a gentle, kind demeanor that quells even the most deep-rooted dento-phobic patient. The hygienists are superb. The front-end staff are friendly and efficient. From the patient's perspective, Hoediono and de Man presents a fine example of how a healthcare clinic should be run. This practice deserves a plaque! (Pun intended)

Came here to fix a botched crown from another dentist. Was nervous about the whole experience but Dr De Man was great and reassuring that I would get perfect results. The tooth came out amazing and all my friends and family say it looks completely undetectable as if I never had it done. This was the longest dental journey and very unpleasant with my first dentist but soooooo happy and worth the wait with Dr De man's work and results. Terrible scheduling, I received a message about appointment options at 9:43 am, I reply at 9:47 agreeing on a time, I later then get notified that the time I chose was already booked? I was offered another time slot for the appointment and agreed to take it. About 1 hour later I get another email saying that the second time slot that I chose was now booked as well. now with no more available appointments for the week. I am forced to head elsewhere for my toothache. I don't recommend booking here.

Dr. Mike Schenkel performed multiple diagnostic tests to determine the source of the problem and then used images and xrays to explain to me the different things something like this could be and told me what he thought it was. I always remember being terrified as a little girl when it was time for a cleaning and checkup because the cleaning always hurt. Their hygenists are amazing! Leah and Cheryl are super gentle and always take the extra time to explain to our children about the importance of brushing properly. The kids always leave with a little fist full of goodies and a genuine smile on their faces. The new kids gaming system is a definite attraction for children as well! I recently experienced some TMJ issues and Dr. Harry and the administrative staff have been right on top of getting me to the proper Specialists to have this matter taken care of. It can happen to anyone that you get into an emergency situation and need to ask for a recommendation. Please hang in there as this is an experience I have to share. When it works out this well, I feel obliged to share the whole story. I was travelling on business having opened a branch of our business in the area. To make it a real challenge....I had (have) recently been diagnosed with a rather serious medical issue. Yep, heavy meds and all the complications that can bring. What I thought was a tooth ache turned out to be an infection in a root canal under a bridge. Thought I was going to lose that bridge and have root canal treatment (if possible). What I did not anticipate was the level of care and welcome that I received from a team that I have never met previously. From the minute I walked in, to meeting the clinic manager and then Dr Harry - it was like I had been a patient for years. Sure there were some rather different considerations but this was beyond friendly and welcoming. A level of professionalism and knowledge that went way beyond what I could have hoped for. Dr H put me at ease immediately. Not just with a quite amazing chair side manner, this man is so knowledgeable on the challenge I face and the protocols of what "we" can and cannot do. His team got to work on the examination and diagnosis. I walked out knowing the treatment was right and that it would set me up "pain free" in time for the next round of treatment. The experience goes on. The clinic is so well set up and invested in, they have the technology to keep the bridge and sort out the source of my infection. I regard myself as a bit of a lucky individual in that I am getting the treatment and help I need. What I didn't anticipate was the dental need ...but again, lucked in to a clinic and team that are a credit to their profession and community. If you have a choice, go see these fine people.

I asked him if it’s common to hit a nerve while filling a cavity because I was scared, so he did it on purpose and caused me a root canal. Please be careful. He is terrible.

I am disabled with many health issues. All the staff are very nice. When I have my teeth cleaned or when I need dental work everyone, either a dental hygenist or the different dentists all have done an amazing job. I came to de Man & Hoediona and Assoc. because my prior dentist decided I was too much of a health risk to have 'deal' with me. If I have to cancel or reschedule because of my health I've never had a problem doing this. Once when renovations were being done at the office I had to come in a side door with my power wheelchair up some stairs and no ramp!. It was very difficult but everyone helped me get into my appointment. Thank you all for your kindness.

I've just had an old damaged crown removed, a new one was machined using digital modelling and replaced all in a morning's work. Dr. Harry is a rock star! The dentists and dental hygienists always explain what they are doing and answer all your questions. I am a patient here and I took my 4.5 year old daughter for her second time today. Everyone from the office staff to hygienist, and dentist went out of their way to be extra welcoming and make my daughter feel comfortable. We had Dr. Harry and he was so good with her. The office itself is very nice, new, clean, and modern. The view from every chair is of their huge backyard with mature trees, bird feeders, and grass. There are TVs at every chair as well.
