We've got the feddbacks of real people who used the products of Cornerstone Medical Clinic (Doctor) in the territory close to Burnaby (Canada).
At the moment this firm gets a score of 3.3 over 5 and the rating was based on 53 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is discreet, and it is based on a very high number of opinions, so we can conclude that the score is very accurate. If people have bothered to rate when they are satisfied with the service, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to give scores when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Doctor belongs to the category of Medical Center.
I tried phoning them multiple times during different times of the day and also a different day altogether to ask if they were accepting new patients. Not once, did they pick up the phone. I even left them a message and they never called me back. Even if they were "accepting new patients", I wouldn't come to this clinic because how would I ever book an appointment if the receptionist never answers the phone. Their phone automated message kept appreciating me for my patience, but unfortunately my patience has ran out on this clinic.
Reception has terrible phone skills, and even though it’s fairly new, the office is ugly, not as clean as you would expect for a medical clinic and uncomfortable.
This doctor's office is located inside the Pharmasave in Burnaby Heights. You can enter the clinic through Pharmasave or use their separate entrance from the covered parking lot. The receptionists here have to multitask like crazy while checking in patients and setting up the patient rooms so some patience is required. Otherwise, the wait time from arriving, being assigned a room, to the doctor seeing you is better than other places. I do not recall having to wait long like over an hour at some other places in comparison. They do have an online booking system but I believe its for existing patients. In the online booking system I like that I can leave a note online and the receptionist responds through there. My doctor is Dr. Hong and I have no issues with him. He seems to have a good disposition, and he does put in an effort to get to the root of an issue unlike other doctors who brush off concerns without any reason.
Dr. Dong is a great doctor. She takes the time to talk to and care for the patient.
They have the worst receptionist. Avoid this clinic at all costs. She is very lazy in doing her job. Very rude and unprofessional. First you think maybe she doesn't understand the English language, but that is not the case. She understands English very well but chooses to be arrogant and impolite.
This clinic's customer service representative will run it down. Dr Thomas Hong is great, but if he's serious about his job, he should send that customer service representative packing. She doesn't like the job. She repeatedly told me she has other thing to do, other than pick calls, and in a very saucy and unfriendly manner. She put me on hold 3 times, each time without warning. She is terrrible and I'll make sure to say this to Dr Hong if I ever see him again. This has been my worst experience in Canada with a customer service representative.
This clinic says they are accepting new patients however I have called the office at least 6 times at various times of day when they have been open over the past month and not once has my call been answered. I have left messages and they have not been returned. I don't know how patients get in contact with their doctor if the phone is never answered.
They will never ever answer or return your phone calls. You can only make appointments in person.
Good luck on getting an appointment. They never pick up their phones. And when you leave a message they call you back weeks later to schedule an appointment. Only way to get an appointment is to go in person and act all mad. It's pretty sad for such practice to exist in a first world country.
Dr. Hong is friendly and easy to communicate with. The staff are great as well.
Dr Emily Dong is an amazing doctor and the receptionists have always been really kind and responsive. Always have had a nice experience.
Staff is great. If you're wanting test results back or to get through to someone to book an appointment I highly recommend going somewhere else. They had my test results for a week and never phoned me. I had to enquire about them, after three days of trying to phone with no luck of getting through, and the staff was great and apologized. My doctor did not offer an apology rather a lame excuse. I hear the male doctor there is great
Dr. Hong really cares and I’ve always had the best experience whenever we schedule an appointment. He listens to your needs and takes the time to understand what would make you fully comfortable. Highly recommended!
Dr Drong is great but their reception is ridiculous.
My family doctor Emily Don is on Maternity leave, love her professionaliam but her substitute doctor Melissa Kim is terrible. I started asking her questions since she didn't give me an explanation for my problem, she raised her voice at me to tell me to be quiet and that I am being annoying. As a patient coming in to seek help and sympathy I feel she lacks compassion that is required of her profession. I went there to seek help and guidance but I feel i only wasted my time today.
Much better here than at some other places I've been. At least you can get an appt. You don't have to wait over 45min. to be seen. They take you seriously and try to help you. It's not a rush to get you to leave. I've had doctor appts. elsewhere ,where I waited minimum 1 hr. and then get 5-7 minutes.. and either get a form to do blood test or a prescription that isn't covered or I can't help you.
Update Nov 2019: they have online booking now! I have increased the number of stars because they seem to have listened. Dr Dong is great and there is usually a minimal wait at the clinic when you make an appointment, which is very rare for a doctor's office in my experience. It is impossible to book an appointment because they never answer the phone or they put you on hold for a very long time. I also left a message to make an appointment and never received a call back. I strongly suggest having an additional receptionist to deal with phone calls or implement an online appointment booking system.
I just started going here and I already feel super comfortable with the staff, and my new family doctor, Dr. Emily Dong. The front staff were super pleasant, and Dr.Dong took the time to answer my questions thoughtfully, and thoroughly. She even recommended some really great resources for me to further research. Great experience over all!
This clinic has the worst customer service and reception. It is nearly impossible to make an appointment. After trying to call 5 times throughout the day and leaving a vm with no call back, I had no choice but to go into a walk in clinic to talk about my results. Cornerstone, if you’re listening, please implement an online appointment system on a website. At the least, please pick up the phone! It would greatly improve the experience of the patients. Also Dr.Hong is a nice doctor but is not open minded to holistic practices or finding the root cause of the symptoms. I would appreciate a doctor who is a bit more open minded.
Dr Hong is great but that’s if you can get an appointment. Unfortunately unless you’re already set up to book through their online system, it is extremely difficult to get a hold of anyone to book, reschedule, ask a question or even return a missed call from the doctor.
Dr Hong is great and a very caring physician
Dr. Dong is great person, i loved her behavior and professionalism.
Dr. Hong seems like a good doctor. The only problem I have is that I'm never able to book an appointment when I really need to. I have to personally make an appointment myself to review follow up reports (Specialists) and sometimes they didn't even have my tests/reports on file and wondered why I went in..I think it is their responsibility to follow up with this. I work at VGH and our clinic cares for our patients a lot. Perhaps I shouldn't compare them, but I feel that if my boss (specialist) is able to make time for his patient and care for them, then family doctors should be able to do the same. I don't ask for much as I only go to the doctor when I really have to. I've been having symptoms that are concerning, but was unable to make an appointment. I seem to be going to my walk-in doctor more than my own family doctor (Dr. Hong). It's just upsetting that I'm not getting the care that I need from my GP.
This is the weirdest medical clinic I've ever been to or heard of. The reception staff are POLITE. They run ON TIME much of the time, or pretty darn close. And they go on acting as though this is all PERFECTLY NORMAL. And if you were wondering, yes, it's a real medical clinic with real medical doctors. (They're good doctors, but that's not really my point.) I have no explanation for any of this.
I have to give a worse rating than deserved because the reception desk is just awful one lady is good but the other seriously doesn’t even answer calls politely and is very rude it takes forever to get an appointment and it seems really hard for them to renew prescriptions even tho the pharmacy is in the same building as the clinic Please do something about the front desk staff! Other than that doctor Dong is a great doctor and I have had good experiences dealing with her. She deserves 5 stars the front desk however is very frustrating.
I just called them asking if they were taking new patients. The receptionist says, "No we are not taking any new patients." And I said, "Thank you." And she just hangs up without saying anything after that.....What kind of receptionist answers the phone like this?전화를 이따위로 받는건 뭐냐?? 넌 존대말도 필요없다.
I've been to a few doctors in my life and didn't have high hope only wishing they do their job. But dr Emily Dong here is in every way exceeding my expectations. Patient, caring, knowledgeable. Trully professional.
Impossible to get through to the reception to book an appointment.
Dr. Thomas Hong went above and beyond to make sure that the patients get the right treatments. Even when he has reached his daily limits (work for free), Dr. Hong attended to his patients’ emergency needs to ensure that one well-being is looked after. He really took the time to listen and understand the patient situations. We highly recommend Dr. Hong as a family doctor. Sincerely, Edbert & Dian
Should update your hours if you're closing at 3:40 pm on a Monday when all your times say 5 pm.
Why do they never answer the phone ??? I couldn't make an appointment with my family doctor if my life depended on it, completely unacceptable and needs to change or else I am finding a new doctors office who can answer the phone
Me and my adult kids became patients of Dr. Dong in May 2017 after my previously doctor up and quit her practice out of the blue. I felt very lucky to have found a doctor so quick because I've heard horror stories from people who've been looking for a family doctor in this city for a long time. Dr. Dong is a fantastic doctor BUT my one complaint is that it's impossible to get through to reception to make an appointment. They never answer the phone! In the past few weeks I must have called about 10 times, and not once has the phone been picked up. I left a message just after Christmas to see if I could have my prescription refilled over the phone because I was almost out...no reply to this day. I had to get an emergency prescription filled by the pharmacist. Please answer your phones! It's really frustrating when all you're trying to do is make an appointment and can't get through. Perhaps an online scheduling program would be a good idea so patients can book their own appointments without having to phone.
After my family doctor retired I was so anxious about finding a doctor that my family and I could connect well with. It was truly a blessing to find Dr. Dong, she is perfect for our family! Dr. Dong is patient, listens carefully to all issues and is receptive to any questions we have of any ailments or concerns. She is very thorough at explaining diagnosis and treatments and makes us feel that we are being well looked after. Not only is she very calming but relates very well with kids. I feel beyond blessed to have my family and I under her care. The staff at the clinic is very helpful caring and accommodating!
This place is cash only for any forms or fees and the service is quite bad to be honest. Dr. Dong is nice but on mat leave. Dr. Kim needs some more customer service experience. They have an online booking system though
Dr. Dong is amazing, the only issue is have is with the receptionists. They are rude and incompetent.
Dr. Hong is very friendly, he genuinely is concerned how you are today. He is knowledgeable about current medications whereas my last doctor had to google the information. The clinic is new and clean. I recommend him as a doctor.
Dr. Hong takes his time to know your medical condition and seems genuinely interested in your well being instead of trying to rush you out after 5 minutes like my last doctor. Very happy with this clinic and has free parking to boot. What more can you ask.
They need more staff or new system for booking? Cannot call in or get a hold of anyone ever!?! This is my family doctor. No option for voice mail or online booking. Straight to voice message saying theyre busy and a fax line...same message hour after hour of trying, every day I try. Thanks for the fax option though! Im sure it's real popular for booking medical appointments.
iM LiTerAlly sUeING !!!!!!!!!!!! ???? The worst receptionist. Never picks up the phone like do ur fricking job lady. In the waiting room I think I've never seen her use the phone ever. I don't think she knows how. She also has the worst attitude and is really harsh/judgemental. Also the doctor is a total THUG. I had a second question she said she'll answer it in 10 minutes cause she has another patient waiting, even though it was literally still my turn and I booked an appointment. After a few seconds, she pokes her head in and says, "sEe yoU LaT3r" Who DOES that. SO RUDE.
Dr Dong is a caring, knowledgable, and professional doctor. Unfortunately with her being on mat leave I had to see the locum doctor Melissa Min Sung Kim. Melissa is very unprofessional, lacking in interpersonal skills and empathy that you would hope to receive from your GP. I question her knowledge and interest in actually helping patients. My appointment was rushed and she was very dismissive/judgmental and did not address my concerns. Being a healthcare professional myself, I am disappointed with the type of “care” I received.. it’s clear that empathy and a genuine concern for the well being of others cannot be taught.
Dr Emily Dong is great. I feel comfortable going to her with any concerns I have and she ensures the best treatment everytime for me. There's been many occasions where I've had last minute things come up and she's always been more than willing to try and help get me in as soon as possible everytime and the staff are super friendly and polite. Huge difference in comparison to other medical offices I have been to.
Just called them asking if Dr. Hong is taking on new patients, placed on hold for over 15 minutes and was told yes. With the customer service so lacking I'll look for another GP
Dr. Dong has been a great family doctor for me, I got in with her when the clinic first opened and have nothing but great things to say. Perfect office location in a new, clean space. Only complaint is that it can be difficult to get a call through sometimes, but otherwise great.
the customer service is very bad. Never take any call. l cannot see my family doctor, dr.Hong when l do need him. Very poor service
The staff and doctors are great but they're way too busy and their hours are too limited. I'd love to say more good things about them but I've only managed to see the doctor once, and I can rarely get a receptionist to answer the phone to book an appointment. I usually end up going to walk-in clinics instead.
