I had such an awesome experience here today! The receptionist (Lee or Leigh?) dont know how to spell her name, but pronounced Lee, was so accommodating and compassionate even though they were so busy. She deserves praise for being so lovely! Then the Doctor was amazing! Dr Fell took the time to really chat, she was very sweet, I didn't feel rushed at all. I have had bad experiences in Whistler, and will always come back to this clinic now, when this Doctor is working. Thank you thank you! you guys are great <3

I called over the phone, set appointment, and got in the clinic few minutes ahead. The wait inside was minimal, receptionist superb, no surprises at all. Dr Carr was excellent and efficient and I would recommend this clinic to anyone looking for doc at whistler.. I wish I have her as my fam doc... Thank You Dr. Carr !

A doctor here said to me word for word 'you're probably going to live a short life' based on the information I gave him. He had absolutely no bedside manner and I was horrified and scared at the time. I'm genuinely only posting here months later in the hopes that someone reviews the kind of care they give here. 1 star is too generous

Very rude female receptionist, insists I be quick on the phone as she is busy but wont actually let me talk ... Her words ‘I don’t have time to listen to you’ ‘Hurry up’ ‘Be quick’ Ironically, she says this as i am trying to explain something and interrupts every 3 seconds I have never once experienced service like this before

TOTAL RIPOFF. I was charged $175 to see the doctor because I'm not canadian. Had to wait an hour. Saw the doctor for 5 minutes and she told me to just put ice on my hurt shoulder.

i called earlier this morning and made an appointment. Upon arriving I waited 45 minutes to see a doctor. Another man came in 15 minutes after me and saw the doctor immediately. That guy was either late for his appointment, or didn't have one, and it took him 30 minutes to come back out! I just needed a 5 minute shot. The doctor is fine but unless you like waiting don't come here

TERRIBLE. AVOID GOING HERE. I had complications with a simple procedure from dr. forestell which then led to a referral for an ultrasound. I found out my referral was never sent through until I called 3 times to force the admin to finally send it. I had to call a few times because the admin kept hanging up on me and telling me the doctor would call me back. I had to literally tell her not to hang up and that I needed to talk to her, not the doctor. I finally have an ultrasound booked 5 months later thanks to this neglect and LACK OF PATIENT CARE. I've asked for my lab results to be sent to me, my family doctor and the referred specialist a month ago and they still have not sent it through. Town Plaza, fire your receptionist. There are a million other whistler locals looking for work that can do better.

Ridiculous. I get better care in a third world country . They can't make appointments ..I called in Nov. 20 with a chronic issue and am still waiting to get an appointment with a specialist. I had a doctor ( male) tell me last month when I called to inquire as to the status of my request , tell me that I'd have to wait 8 months to even get an appointment. We are living in Canada for gods sake..this is not some remote , back water country in the middle of no where.. as I said, I get better service in Asia... this is Canada.. way behind other countries.. if it wasn't for covid.. I'd be on a plane to get my issue dealt with. Add on.. One year later from when I initially talked to a doctor at this clinic...it literally took one year to get an appointment with an ear specialist... Another issue has come up where I need a simple referral to see another doctor.. the doctor who is giving the referral refused to give it unless I saw her.. then she cancelled two appointments and then called me and told me to send a picture then , she said" we could deal with it in the New Year " .. meanwhile, I have an appointment with the other specialist in one weeks time and needed the referral now ( she is totally out to lunch).. meanwhile the doctor ( DR. KARR) is getting paid every time she speaks with a client and does absolutely nothing. This is how the Canadian medical system works. These doctors at this clinic are collecting cash; meanwhile, I can't get a simple referral for a consultation with a specialist. Insane.

Absolute worst medical clinic. Do not go here. My boyfriend sliced his finger and it would not stop bleeding, so we looked up the closest medical center to see if we could have a doctor bandage it up. When we walked up the sign on the door said it was open until 7:30 (it was only 6pm at the time) so we tried to open the door. It was locked so we started to walk away when a woman opened the door and asked 'what do you want'. We proceeded to tell her what had happened and she was SO rude and very awkward. She said they had closed early today and stated mumbling to herself. We asked her if she has a recommendation of where to go but she said she would ask the doctor to see us. She then tried to shove us in a room, briefly mentioning that it would cost $150 just for the doctor to take a look and probably more for him to do anything. The whole time she was acting like we were inconveniencing her and was mumbling, shaking and being very pushy. We ended up walking out and her response was the 'doctor was happier NOT to see us anyways'.

The receptionist booked my appointment at 4:15pm after waiting and waiting plus letting 6 people pass me (they were walk in patients that was paying via card or cash). I've waited an hour and a half for nothing ????. You're better off dead that going to this clinic.

REFUSES UNVACCINATED PATIENTS. My girlfriend had a phone call appointment with her doctor last week, simply to renew a prescription. While on the phone, my girlfriend explained what she needed and why, and Dr Carr interrupted her to ask if she had been vaccinated. She said “no I haven’t” The doctor went on and on about the vaccine and said she would not see her in person. My gf respectfully said “ That’s fine I understand and respect that, but I just need to renew my prescription over the phone today, I don’t need to see you in person for that” The doctor refused at first, saying she would not help her because she wasn’t vaccinated. My girlfriend started crying, she felt really upset, all she wanted was her medication for her pain. She insisted to please just renew her prescription over the phone as she really needed them. In the end, the doc told my girlfriend “Don’t ever call me again, go find another doctor, I do not want to be your doctor anymore” She also did not renew the prescription as needed, only part of it and told her to go see someone else if she wanted the full prescription.

Unfortunately, I had a poor experience with the town Plaza Medical center and wished I had just gone to the Whistler Health Care Centre despite the much higher cost. Initially, I felt good about the doctor who looked at my snowboard injury, she sent me over for x-rays at the Whistler Hospital and I was told they would follow up and did not need to come back. The follow up took multiple days despite me calling and making 3 additional trips to the clinic with still no closure on the diagnosis. Multiple days going by with me not knowing or being able to find out was really unnerving given the pain I was in. One receptionist said the doctor left a message but I was never able to locate on my cell or at my hotel. I do respect the fact it is possible they were not able to reach my US phone, however at the same time when I didn't hear back, I called and followed up in person and still was not able to get answers. Additionally, the front desk staff was not friendly and its clear there is not good communication within their practice for ensuring the best possible follow through.

The good thing is you get in easy and the receptionists are nice. From then it becomes a downhill... I went there twice and have to say it was the worst experience I had with a doctor so far. The physician was Josh, who does appear pretty annoyed by his job. He didn't pay much attention when I told him about my problem. The way he treated me with his arrogant "I know better" attitude made me feel pretty uncomfortable. The way he was doing a physical is questionable (using a stethoscope over 3 layers of clothes, shoveling a thermometer in one's mouth without warning which hurts, not listening to his patient). Also he didn't took the effort to ask important questions regarding symptoms or previous treatment. One of his comments was intending that I should suck it up instead of seeing a doctor. The only thing he suggested was to keep on using the medicine I took already for a few days, although I mentioned twice that it didn't help at all. He didn't give any further advised and when I asked for a particular test, he reacted like it was an odd thing to ask. It was an overall disappointing experience and I am happy that I didn't have to see him for a serious health issue. I can't judge about the other doctor's there, but I would definitely stay away from this one. Too bad that not more people sharing their experience with him here in the same way they do when you mention in Whistler which doctor you saw.

Normal Doctor service, nothing special, but for having an appointment whixh was 1h and 25 min late, then just took like 7minutes and had to pay 135$ for checking my sinus, really unfair! I would suggest to go to Northland medical clinics, every appointment is just 75$, so circa 40% less and you don't wait that long!

Wow by far the worst in town. 5pm: Booked appointment for 6pm. Sat in lobby for half hour, moved to room at 630, still no sign of anyone by 7 despite no one else in the clinic. This place is such a joke. Walked out and went to the main clinic, in and out in under 20 minutes with actual pros. Don't be a dummy like me.

The new Irish receptionist Laurie is incredibly unprofessional, talks loudly about other patients information when there’s a waiting room full of people and was laughing about someone’s health issue on the phone call she had just hung up on. Also has a nasty bad attitude - other staff members are nice but was disgusted at her behaviour and complete lack of respect for patients and their private information.

I took my 5 month old son to the medical centre today and the doctor could not have been nicer. For what turned out to be a standard cough, he took the time to discuss what was causing it fully with my husband and me, told us signs he looks for with babies and even suggested I listen to my baby's lungs. All of this with a genuine intention of educating us as new parents without making us feel like we were wasting his time, despite him being very busy. Thank you

I just had the worst experience that I have ever had with any medical receptionist. I called in two days before, an afternoon before, a night before, and morning of, until I finally received a call back from this medical practice. The receptionist was terribly rude and un-accommodating. She refused to let me speak or finish any of my sentences. After I told her I was covid tested recently, she kept implying that I had covid and needed immediate urgent care. Following this, she hung up on me mid sentence after I had been trying to call for days. I feel bad even giving this review one star.

I think this may be the first review I have ever done. The Irish receptionist should not be working there. Worst attitude and worst customer service I have ever recieved on the phone. Dr. Carr "helped" me for a bit of 2020, though having never met her, diagnosed me over the phone and prescribed me 2 different medications that ruined my day to day life. I called back to try and give them another shot hoping I could talk to someone in person and was immediately reminded why I stopped calling in the first place. The service here should be shut down.

Younger doctor was more damaging than helpful. My friend thought they had an sti and went in for help, they didn’t have a female doctor, which wasn’t great, but the male was nice and examined her. Upon hearing the story, he called me, her partner, an “asshole” for not getting tested after being with the same person for 3 years in a presumably faithful relationship, told my partner she “certainly” had an sti, either gnorea or chlamydia, and gave her antibiotics for both. Upon getting lab results back, the doctor was certainly wrong, even though he practices “medicine” in one of the most STI ridden places on earth, he completely failed to identify the issue, causing our relationship to be damaged due to his assumption of an sti that was never there. It was simply an unusual yeast infection, pretty standard stuff. If you believe you have an sti and are uncomfortable I suggest not going here, but rather waiting for the daily free sti check at another clinic. It’s clear why they have such a young doctor, because the service was awful... Had an apt for 9:15 am. Didn’t get seen till 10:30 am. No excuses for that sort of tardiness that early considering it opens at 8:30 or 9 am... only way they could of been this late was either doctor drank too much last night and was hungover getting into work, or he gave one patient a whole lot more attention than a walk-in clinic can do. This guys going to get fired for malpractice sooner than later with the way he speaks to patients and males incorrect assumptions, go elsewhere!!

My experience with this medical clinic was thoroughly underwhelming and I cannot stress enough the extent to which I would discourage any potential patient from booking an appointment. The women I first talked to on the phone provided false promises about the capacity of the clinic, acting in a manner which seemed more interested in getting home than providing medical care. Once I arrived at the centre, the secretary was dismissive, apathetic and cantankerous. She spent more time complaining about her computer system than dealing with my requests. Once I saw the doctor, who was twenty five minutes late, he informed me that the assurances I had received from the secretary were erroneous. He continued to explain that he could not help me and, in fact, was not an employee of the clinic at all but was simply covering for a day due to staffing shortages. I left the clinic spent a few days pondering how my time and money which had been wasted by this establishment before returning to ask for both a refund and an apology. I talked to a new secretary, requesting some compensation for my maltreatment but he nonchalantly told me that my requests were insurmountable. Consequently, I asked for a contact number or email to reach the manager but again the secretary said he was unable to fulfil my requests. I have talked to other past patients, all of whom were equally appalled by the service provided by the clinic. This consensus of disappointment has led me to writing this review; with intentions not of venting my indignation but as an attempt to save other potential patients of similar chagrin.

This service here is disgusting. Every other negative review is absolutely correct. The Irish receptionist is rude and disrespectful. Medical facilities are suppose to be kind and compassionate. Dr. Ian Tamplin is by far the ruddest doctor I have EVER encountered... and that's saying something considering I am a nurse and I work next to doctors basically every day of my life. I dont know who ever hurt this guy in life but its plain as day that he hates people and therefore should not be a doctor. Not willing to take walk ins, but also not will take take appointments: "just keep calling the next day and we will see if we have a space". Not willing to accept patients from other provinces unless doing so for cash. Glad I checked the reviews and was able to confirm I wasn't the crazy one and didn't take the appointment. Take your business elsewhere if possible.

I made an appointment 3 hours before I turned up. They failed to tell me that my doctor hadn't even turned up for their shift. I overheard them talking about it and could see the build up of patients in the waiting room. I waited over an hour while they turned away all the newly arriving patients who they should have called to advise not to come in. Not a very professional service and poor communication. It all seemed like a bit of a circus.

By far the worst treatment by a doctor I've ever received in my (long) life. Was told the guy was subbing for regular docs due to the holiday - his name is Josh. He's impatient, arrogant, presumptuous, condescending, and has no empathy or positive bedside manner when this patient was confused and trying to remedy a challenging problem. I never slam specific people in reviews but after reading some other reviews, it seems he treats plenty of others the same way. He either is on the spectrum (personality disorder) or just plain hates people and his job. If the former, I will give him only the slightest break, but he should not be working on the front lines. Stick him in a lab somewhere or writing articles if he's as brilliant as he seems to think he is. Front desk staff was fine, and friendly. Quite a contrast.

I arrived at 8:30am when they open, was greeted in a friendly and efficient manner, and almost immediately seen by the doctor who fully and adequately diagnosed my condition (viral cold with side effects to ears), giving good explanations and advice including for my flight home in a few days.

The last two times I have tried to make appointments at this clinic the new receptionist has been incredibly rude and unhelpful. When dealing with people who are already unwell and are trying to fit in time to see a dr between work and busy lives, why make situations even harder? Today I called hoping to get a prescription refilled and asked if it was possible to make an appt. Rather than the receptionist simply telling me they are currently only taking walk ins, she laughed at me and said “well call it what you want but we are only doing day of so no you can’t make an appt.” After receiving no answers or help regarding when I would be able to come in, she hung up on me. I have heard from friends in town that they have experienced similar things from this clinic but was shocked when I experienced this horrible customer service myself.

She does not let you answer or ask any question she is condescending she cuts you off mid sentence does not listen . If you are looking for professional compassionate service then go somewhere else . I’m so surprised at how many negative reviews this clinic has. I’ve been going to Town Plaza regularly for almost two years and have only had one bad experience. I only like to be seen by Dr Carr now, and she has never let me down. I have only ever found the reception staff to be professional and welcoming.

I came in to get a prescription re-prescribed. The doctor saw me immediately, and was very polite. I was in and out within five minutes, after the doctor asked me a few questions about my (very simple) medical history and gave me the prescription. This was a fantastic clinic, and definitely one of my most positive experiences with health care practitioners.

After 10 years of mediocre service it finally came to a head when I spent 2 hours after my appointment time to see Dr. T. Not only did the wait show the ineptitude of the front worker but when I mentioned my growing impatience she proceeded to talk down to me like preschool student. Their overall behaviour was unacceptable. I will never go back to this establishment as there are many other newer and more competent options in Whistler.
