It was upsetting to see how my wife was treated by some of the nurses at this clinic and by Dr. Havelock. Patient care is about more than medical intervention, it's also about how you treat and interact with your patients too, particularly after they have gone through something traumatic. Our experience with this clinic is that they have completely forgotten that side of their jobs. Nobody should be made to feel that spending 45 minutes with a patient that has experienced an early pregnancy loss and has questions about protocol and procedures re: diagnosis is a burden. 45 minutes is not a "great deal of time" to spend with someone who has lost a baby and has questions. There are other clinics in Vancouver, check them out first.

Had a great experience with PCRM so far. Our doctor is Jeff Roberts and he always treated us professionally and with our best interest in mind. It's true that he is not a super warm and fuzzy type of doctor but I don't think that's what matters. He was straightforward with us, answered all our questions, ordered a bunch of tests to make sure his diagnosis was accurate. He wasn't pushing us to do anything we didn't want, he wasn't trying to upsell any of the expensive services offered by the clinic. Even with our treatment he started with lower dose and increased it gradually until it was working properly, he didn't want to put us on a high hormone dose from the start which I appreciated. Finally the nurses at the clinic are all great as well. My questions were always answered the same day I called them and with great patience and sympathy. I will be back to this clinic later on as well!

I would recommend them to anyone looking for their services, very professional staff.

Terrible experience, had laparoscopy from Dr Havelock at Vancouver surgery center, after 2 weeks I went back to see him and was told that my endometriosis is severe, also because we were in the surgery center not hospital so he couldn't remove the tissue and cyst,he recommended me either do IVF or he will refer me to get another surgery in the hospital.I felt that I was just an experiment for him to practice,I had the surgery for nothing!! He could schedule the surgery in the hospital but he put me in the private surgery center!!Why?! Making more money? Will never go back!

Absolutely love this clinic! Every member of staff is so sweet and friendly, and they go above and beyond for their patients. They even squeezed in an early IVF treatment for us when we were strapped for time and had to return to the UK. This was the third clinic we had used for IUI/ IVF, because we move around a lot, and they were the best by a long way - making the entire process a relaxed and happy one. They are super reassuring and compassionate and the nurses were incredibly patient with us, answering our frequent calls and taking the time to explain every step of the process. All of the doctors are lovely, taking an experience that could be intimidating and uncomfortable, and ensuring that patients feel relaxed and stress-free. We really felt as though we were in the best hands with PCRM. Thank you for everything!

Overall I had a very good experience here. I am currently expecting after receiving an IUI treatment. My advice to anyone going to the clinic, don’t expect any handholding, it’s an emotional process but this is a very professional place and most of the doctors are not Into coddling you. They will get straight to the point, do all the tests you need etc. If you want handholding, get a midwife after you’re done.

Me and my husband just have good things to say about this amazing clinic. What else can I say than my biggest dream was to become a mom and I now have 3 kids, I am the happiest mom. Our journey trying to conceive started in 2008, we did our first and only round of IVF, we had a baby boy in 2009. Our last visit at the clinic was in 2018 for an embryo transfer and we had a beautiful baby girl! Doctor Havelock is a wonderful and compassionated doctor. I recommended PCRM to a friend and she was also able to conceive with their help.

The doctors and nurses have been nothing short of amazing which is why I would 100% recommend this clinic. Their admin staff however, could seriously take a class on being kind. Most of these appointments are very sensitive, and their rude/cold behaviour almost has us wondering if we should switch clinics. Super disheartening. I hate to be the person to say it but with all the money we pay to go through IVF/IUI ect, you think they would hire staff that actually has a heart and compassion. Very upset.

Dr. Havelock is a very accomplished and well read RE who is married to his belief in existing policy and procedure, even when it’s not in the best interests of his patient. If you’re remotely inclined to having questions about your medical care or about existing policies and procedures, consider another RE. Dr. Havelock is very defensive when asked to explain the thought process behind medical decisions concerning patient care. He does not actively listen to patient concerns, he waits for an opportunity to respond to them defensively. In fact, he may not always wait to respond, he may just talk over you (he speaks very loudly). Dr. Havelock is singularly focused on standards and procedures, which I’m sure results in positive outcomes for a lot of his patients, but unfortunately this is at the expense of showing compassion or empathy for his patients. Nor is it particularly innovative or patient focused. Any doctor can follow a set of protocols as it requires minimal thought or effort on their part. People are not identical robots that come in boxes and there’s nothing innovative about structuring their care that way. Most alarmingly though is how Dr. Havelock will think that he has done a good job of addressing your concerns, when he really hasn’t at all. It’s that lack of awareness that would make me seriously question seeing him when dealing with the emotional turbulence that comes with fertility issues and, in my case, early pregnancy loss. Also, some of the nurses at this practice lack appropriate bedside manner and could use retraining, particularly their nursing manager.

I when to this clinic was there for 3months they did nothing about my endometriosis (didn’t even tell me I had it, 15mm linning of the uterus anything over 11mm is bad) They just wanted my money I did 3iuis there then went to olive they told me I had endometriosis (that ended up turning into pre cancer)and that I have to go on hormone therapy pills beforehand to help get rid of it first then try for a baby I would not recommend PCRM to anyone

Did not have a good experience with them decided to change clinics and transfer out. Was told there is a $2000 “admin fee” that they charge to all. This is more than the cost to ship and also not stated anywhere. Will be filing a complaint about them and thought others should be aware. After all the struggles financially and emotionally this is just so unfair!

They transferred not fully developed embryo on day 5. My embryo was not even developed enough to assess its grade. They transferred it without saying anything as I had been scheduled for fresh embryo transfer on day 5. After the procedure was done, I did some Google search at home about implantation of slowly developed embryo. Many online information said that when embryo is not fully developed on day 5, it can be frozen, thawed and transferred to properly synchronized uterine environment in a different cycle for better chance. Being panicked, I sent a message to them and got back from someone in charge of their lab. He said that it does not make a big diffeence in implantation. I respect his professional opinion even though there are many other professionals who think otherwise. It has been already 2 years since I got the procedure, but my experience with PCRM still left a bitter taste in my mouth as they did not lay out possible alternatives for me and kept me in dark about pros and cons. If I knew that other options available even for slightly better chance, I would have waited for a different cycle for embryo transfer. As a person on advanced age for pregnancy, I considered it my last IVF try and ended up not being able to choose the best possible option for this costly procedure. Staff were nice and seemed compassionate, but their critical decision was not for patients' best interest as far as I am concerned.

Our iui experience with dr. Havelock was great however after the positive result, we are still left hanging and waiting for an OB. It's frustrating and my family doctor finds it unacceptable. It's been a month and i still don't have an ob. Dr. Havelock's secretary did not follow up or even check why the first ob they've referred me to have not contacted me for almost 2 weeks. If it were not for the help of another secretary in pcrm, we would have not known that tge ob was on maternity leave. We just wasted our time waiting. For the next ob they've referred me to, i was told that if i am not at hight risk that ob will not see me until end of February which by that time i'm probably 4.5 months. That's ridiculous! Because of that i was advised to currently go back to my family doctor to get checked. Now, my family doctor's trying to refer me asap to an ob. I was so happy that we are finally pregnant but this situation that we're in right now's giving me the stress which i think is because of the carelessness and lack of initiative of tge nurse to even follow up or make sure that this journey is hassle and stress free.

I had an amazing experience. My husband and I were having difficulty getting pregnant. After seeing many different doctors we were referred to Dr. Roberts by a friend. He was patient, knowledgeable and friendly. Needless to say he figured out what the issue was and my husband and I were able to get pregnant. Since my fantastic experience I have referred a number of friends. Dr. Roberts was my sanity and lifesaver!

Everyone has been absolutely amazing at PCRM my husband and I are beyond grateful. Dr. John Havelock goes above and beyond, everything is timed perfectly and the nurses are "always" there for you. PCRM made my dream come true! I have been trying to conceive for 10 years and it finally happened. A big thanks they gave me the gift to conceive. I want the world to know how blessed and thankful I am. I wouldn't be a "mother" I am today without the Drs and nurses at PCRM. Now my little "darling" just turned 3 months the other day.

I have had treatment at 4 clinics in the past: Genesis, Olive, UBC and PCRM. I can honestly say not all clinics fair the same. They can have their latest and greatest technology but if the energy of the doctors and staff are low, I believe it affects outcome. Because I'm was in my 40's, all the clinics treated me as a low statistic. That my chances of conceiving was grim. If the Dr's and the staff see that treatment will fail, chances are it will. Dr Robert's from PCRM, on the other hand, welcomed the challenge. He had faith and confidence in making it work. Sure, there's always a chance it may not work. But he was determined. His commitment in our treatment was so over and above what I could ask for. And it made a difference... We welcome our daughter into this world, thanks to Dr Robert's. We had 2 previous treatments with other clinics that were unsuccessful. One of the clinics I mentioned even told me straight out I couldn't conceive bc of my age. Well.....he was so wrong. We did one treatment w Dr roberts/PCRM and it was successful Thank u Dr roberts and staff.

My experience getting 3 IUIs PCRM was not the greatest, which is why I decided to move to another clinic. It was not horrible, but I did not feel that they had my best interest in trying to help me conceive. However, the worst part of my experience with PCRM was at the tail end when I was leaving. After I signed the consent form with my new clinic to request PCRM to release my records, I received a call from PCRM advising that I needed to pay $100 to release my records. I asked where it was written, this $100 fee for a records release. They said that the consent form I had signed for the records release said that I was liable for any charges. I asked where it was written (on their website, any forms I signed) that the fee for a records release was $100. I got an email back saying that it was a standard practitioner's fee. They said the alternative was to ask my family doctor to send over any records they had on file from results that are sent to them as that cost would be covered under MSP. They obviously knew my family doctor only had blood test results and none of the details from other testing we had done in the clinic and notes from the IUIs. This was infuriating to me. Never, had I ever been charged this amount for a records release. I have been charged $15, maybe $25 for admin fees in regards to records but never $100. Especially in a day and age where records are all electronically stored. A fee of $100 to gather and email electric documents..? Furthermore, at the time of this charge (about 2.5 mths ago), this "fee" could be found anywhere. Not on the website, not in any forms I signed. This especially stung after I had paid almost $2000 for fertility treatments and in-clinic testing. One would assume the service for emailing my records would be included somewhere in those costs. I'm sure this was not the case, but it felt like an arbitrary amount they threw out. I could not find this fee cost written anywhere at the time of payment, nor could the staff refer me to where this cost was specially written or stated. And of course I paid it because I needed the records to go to my new clinic. My experience with this clinic unfortunately felt more like a business and less like a fertility clinic, which was made ever so apparent at the end of my time with them. The only good thing that came out of paying that fee was that it reinforced my decision to leave PCRM.

I was referred to PCRM when I started my journey trying to conceive in 2017. Other than a few nice nurses that work there, I don't have much good to say about this clinic and now that I'm no longer a client I feel safe to express my concerns so that others can learn from my experience and hopefully choose somewhere else. Here is a run down of some of the problems I encountered: the one female doctor has a horrible bedside manner and was openly derogatory about my journey to conceive as a single mother by choice (SMBC) using donor sperm. As a successful professional and business owner with a PhD, I have never been made to feel 'less than' as I did when speaking with this doctor. Further to this, as a SMBC, I encountered paperwork issues because I don't have a spouse. The message seemed to consistently be that I shouldn't be having a child without one. I also encountered significant hidden fees regarding paperwork transfer, test costs, etc. Additionally, throughout their documents they use strictly heteronormative language. Though I'm not part of the LGBTQ community it was glaringly obvious and uncomfortable even to me. The 'kicker' for me though is that they either have a clear lack of understanding of the lifespan of frozen gametes when performing IUIs or they willfully ignore evidence-based information that governs standard protocol followed by other clinics across the country, which led to months of wasted time and thousands of wasted dollars, all of which went into their pockets for very little work. My take away from over a year with this clinic is that it's all about the money.

The procedure i had was done quickly and was mostly painless. Both the doctor and nurse did an amazing job reassuring me and making me feel comfortable. I've had this procedure done elsewhere previously and was left in a lot of pain so I was very nervous to be repeating it.

Great success and a great experience with Dr Havelock and the PCRM staff!

I am happy with the service l got from Dr. Havelock and the pcrm team. He did a tubal reversal for me in 2019, one tube did not reopen. Nevertheless, he removed some fibroids in 2020 and I became pregnant in 2021 without any further intervention.

sahar aliasghari

unfortunately they are just after the money. i got pregnant on my second try with IUI but it turned out to be an empty sac pregnancy but when i went for the first ultrasound all happy and excited with my 4 year old son the doctor was actually smiling and excited to tell me that there is a problem and you probably will miscarry soon( like he was ordering a drink from a bar). these people are not sensitive or think that they are giving a heart breaking news. and before all that, the experience i had with the acutal IUI was very painful she couldn't get the syringe where it was suppose to go.. over all i had the worse experience in this clinic and i am looking for a different clinic to follow up.

I'd like to start out by saying Jeff Roberts is a freaking wicked dude. The attitude he brings to "problems" is brilliant To the people with Endo. I feel for you. My cousin suffers with your illness. Your illness is so new and so complex. I'm sure it's frustrating, and dealing with different doctors all the time can be chaos. I feel like these doctors do their best. They easily made my daughter came to the work and I am forever grateful. Thank you!

Initially, I was very impressed with PCRM. They were very prompt in receiving my referral and called me almost the next day to arrange a consult appointment. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. I met with Dr. Seethram and found him very kind and relaxed, which is a comforting demeanor when you’re dealing with infertility. In addition, I did not feel rushed with him, and he happily answered any questions I had. However, I found he quickly passed over my diagnosis and went straight to talking about treatments (IUI, IVF). It was only after consulting an outside Endocrinologist that I realized there was more I could do with my diagnosis before jumping to expensive and stressful procedures such as IUI and IVF. I understand Dr. Seethram’s suggestions may have hurried up the process, but I would have appreciated him taking more time to discuss these less drastic options with me. It did seem that their end goal was to make money from procedures. In addition, I found that every time I called the office to speak to a nurse, I ended up getting put through to voicemail. I understand they are very busy, but when it happens 4 times in a row concerning a somewhat urgent and time sensitive matter, it can be quite stressful (however I must say the receptionist ended up being very helpful with getting me through to someone). I found one nurse in particular did not listen to my individual concerns as a patient, and her dismissive and condescending manner was extremely offputting. Infertility is an awfully stressful experience, and I would like to think that nurses at an infertility clinic would take this into consideration when dealing with patients - but apparently not. Ultimately I chose to switch to another clinic as I found the poor communication and nurse’s attitudes (who really are the main contact when going through treatments) unacceptable, especially considering one may end up spending thousands of dollars on treatments there.

This clinic is amazing. All the staff and doctors were so nice and caring and compassionate. Fertility treatment is a stressful and emotionally/physically taxing journey and I feel it is really important to have a good clinic helping you. I have been to other clinics and had horrible experiences. The doctors here are so smart and informative, they never rush you out of an appointment and answer all your questions thoroughly. The nurses are also so caring and kind and really great at their jobs. I mostly dealt with Dr Dunne and Dr. Havlock and they were AMAZING. Often times you will not see your doctor but a different one who is in that day, I have met all of them and they were all wonderful. I just can't say enough good things about how well we were treated here. They helped me get pregnant and I will be forever greatful. I wish I had come to this clinic in the first place instead of wasting 3 years elsewhere. Thank you to everyone at PCRM.

Suzie C

I thought this was a really nice clinic, and I liked it. However, the doctors have lots of patients, and they don't have much time to talk. They only told me important things, and the female doctor didn't listen carefully when I talked about my tummy pain from the self injections. I failed my ivf cycle because of poor quality of my embryo. I got one egg fertilized out of four. I wonder why. I wonder if they did something like ICSI for the three eggs they might have fertilized. When she called me my embryo didn't grow, she didn't explain why such as my age or something I don't know. Now I know my eggs have poor quality, but why didn't they tell us before we started ivf? It's a nice facility but I wish they were nicer and more concerned for every patient.

My husband and I were patients of Dr. Dunne, however had experiences with most of the physicians during out fertility journey. All of the doctors were friendly and professional. Dr. Dunne explained all of our treatment options throughly and never pressured us into anything. While her knowledge and professionalism were great, her care, compassion, and friendly morning chats are why I will always recommend PCRM. Staff from PCRM were also friendly and continued to follow up with me after my son was born.
