Why does this organization even exist if they can't do anything. They exist so u can make complaint so public think there are there they can discipline or do something about your case, WRONG! Had complaint about malpractice, even had other doctor that gave us second opinion write them a letter in support of my claim, as result they silenced doctor that supported my claim and did nothing to the other doctor even though they admitted the malpractice... We are making complaints in vain of course they do nothing, lets just ignore evidence they protect their own. Will sue doctor privately and will see if I can sue them as well.

I live in Ontario but I am hoping to live in BC sometime in the foreseeable future. But my situation is different in that I am learning disabled, have Aspergers, etc. I intend on applying for social assistance out there. Now, IF I'm lucky enough to get my own personal physician, then ok. BUT if I am forced to get a walk-in clinic doctor, then that will be fine too, at least I hope.. Anyway, we'll see how that goes. Of course, I can't get my hopes too high up because realistically, the likelihood of getting a new doctor out there is quite slim.

Absolutely useless organization like most governing bodies. Called to inform them that a walk-in clinic near me is using used urine specimen containers. There has even been complaints on google from others too about the issue. Potential health risk to others and contaminated tests. The collage didn't care unless I went through the whole formal written complaint process. What is this the 1980's where they can not take a complaint over the phone where it is recorded or online?????? Really it is 2019. Age of computers and cellphones lol. Good Job collage for failing the public once again in protecting them. Let use an outdated process that can take weeks to months to protect someone's life. talking to their receptionist is like most governing bodies. Robot with a script. She didn't care that there is a health risk to the public from a walk-in clinic. All she cared about is that it had to be written. If anyone has medical issues with used urine containers in Burnaby let me know. I informed the Collage they didn't care it is on them now.

Stop protecting surgeons with racist views. Do the right thing and license only competent surgeons that are fit to treat all patients with the same level of respect and service. Stop playing with the lives of citizens!

I wanted to work with the College on a complaint I could hardly put together myself in a state of PSTD in November 2017. On March 27, 2017 I was attacked by a hospital male nurse who saw some mental health background in my files. For whatever reason took it upon himself to torture me while I was at emergency for a simple thyroid check. He was mean, bullying, I was isolated. I only wanted a thyroid check I kept telling him that and he would not let it go. WHY ARE YOU SUSPICIOUS he screamed at me. After hours upon hours of this abuse the so-called nurse brought in a doctor I do not know, for an assessment of me for 2 minutes... instead of talking to me he listened to the nurse, when I appeared argumentative he walked away throwing his hands in the air and said, "CERTIFY." I was put in a suicide cell walking and talking normally with my cell in my hand. I was scared to death I come from a lot of trauma - and screamed at by a second female nurse to SHUT UP when I told her this is a huge mistake. The dirty mattress, the screams at me, the video cameras... The video cameras were pointed right at me adding to this all night trauma. I was treated like an animal and released by a doctor who does know me in the morning. Two years after this event I am waiting for a reply to my complaint. They opened a file #2018 - 0072. I made a complaint about my family doctor at the same time for not caring for me in eight years - drug push is all he did not once touching me or weighing me or caring for me as a human. Finally I received a copy of the reports from the hospital, and the doctor who certified me overnight said I was violent. I was not and demand the videos. Not even interviewed in person, I have NO VIOLENT history, just suicidal due to abuse within my 25 marriage. I left him I had no more mental health symptoms, became a counsellor specializing in depression and anxiety. This hospital event sent me on a tailspin I would not wish on my worst enemy. I lost everything, sick, homeless, my cats and my possessions. I ended my career as Clinical Hypnotherapist. How can I continue to help women survive and thrive when my doctors oppress me? I lost my son to a car accident so have no family, and I believe I am ignored because they assume I am a mental case. I have a letter in November from the College where the investigator (who never spoke to me) said (in the letter) that she has no time for this, that she is awaiting 'documentation' and if I want to withdraw my file to let her know. Why would I withdraw? She said in the letter I would get the official report December 3, 2018. Never came. I called twice in January and she ignores my calls. This is a problem for doctors in Canada. It's a serious pattern since they first started labeling me in the 1990s. I'm about to expose names, locations, and events that caused great harm to me and my family. Since the 1980s they have been abusing women and children by drugging them senseless. It makes women overlook abuse at home. The doctors are able to prescribe addictive chemicals to women for their emotional issues. It will take 5 minutes and you can walk out with sensory inhibiting drugs to shut you right up. I have been big pharma chemical clean for years - my only problem is Synthroid I think does not work for me but no doctor will help me figure that out my body is hooked forever. Well, I have some work to do yet, but I have managed to find an apartment in Quebec City, recovered my mental and physical health entirely (by myself) and am ready to expose the biggest drug pushers in British Columbia, and outline how the system is also responsible for the death of my son. Drugging his gifted mind in grade 2 was a huge mistake. Not listening to me in my panic and fear makes me want to survive, and tell all. All I wanted was validation and hopefully a heartfelt apology about the troubled nurse. They drug the emotional mind and take away the voices of folks who need to have a voice in abusive worlds. Wait for me, you'll be hearing my noise now.

I filed a complaint with the College about my family physician, Dr. E.E. Stockenström. The week after I had a myocardial infarction, I asked Dr. Stockenström to check my medication. He refused. As it turned out Shoppers Drug Mart had failed to dispense Brilinta. In his letter in response to my complaint, Dr. Stockenström asserted that it was not his job to check his patients' medication. The College disagreed. At the time I informed Dr. Stockenström I was filing a complaint with the College, he informed me that I could no longer be his patient. The College said Dr. Stockenström did not meet their expectations as he did not provide bridging. While I am happy with the conclusions of the College, I note that they lack transparency when compared to the College of Pharmacists of BC where I also lodged a complaint.

I am finding that more and more patients are being referred but they are handling the referral process. in my MOA days, the MOA would fax off referral for doctor. But i hear more and more clients booking with a referral in hand. Too many new physicians not knowing the process and only medical receptionists being hired.

It is unfortunate that in today's world the patient is treated without respect or consideration. Your first person to be in contact with when referred to a specialist is the Medical Office Assistant (MOA), for which I was one for many years before retiring. So I not only speak as an MOA and as a regular patient. I have been referred to a Gynaecologist on the North Shore. It's been a week now and as yet I have received no communication from his office. I finally called my GP and was given his phone number. I called and was spoken to by a woman who informed me I was on a waiting list. Whether for an appointment or a cancellation she did not say. I spoke with her for five minutes or so to find out she did everything in the office and with 70 or so referrals a day, phoning the patient was out of the question. Even contacting the GP's office was out of the question. I told her she really needed help and was told absolutely NOT. She was good at her job and had been doing it for some time. I informed her if she couldn't call patients who needed an appointment and of course are anxiously waiting, then she needed help. My point is people with a medical condition who need to see a specialist should be treated with some consideration. Even if they have to listen to an irate patient because it's six months before they can get in. As far as the medical profession is concerned if patients have to wait that long it's time you considered getting more specialist into BC. I had better care when we were in Africa.

Dirty institute. Show that self regulation doesn't work.

Amy Allison.... The College's decision not to discipline Dr Albrecht on his delinquency and untruths is disappointing and unacceptable. Protecting the public from Physician's who lie and misrepresent is the College's mandate and its decision implies that anyone with a medical background can state that they are Doctors with no ramifications or accountability. To clarify, Dr Albrecht did not state to my colleague and myself that Ms. Parhar was a Physician Assistant but rather a Doctor. Dr Albrecht had not given me the "impression" as the College states, that Ms. Parhar was a Doctor, he had unequivocally told me and my colleague so on 2 separate occasions. Ms. Parhar herself also stated this to both of us. The College's lack of disciplinary action demonstrates their inability in taking Dr Albrecht's lies and misrepresentation as well as Ms. Parhar's unqualified, impermissible administration of local anesthetic seriously and is contradictory to the College's mandate. Why does the College even exist? Why not simply provide the mandate in relation to the complaint, allowing the public to decide whether there is delinquency and when so move forward with litigation as it is clearly evident the College is incompetent in policing themselves. How dare the College turn a blind eye at their obligation to discipline people who are calling themselves a Doctor whom are not, the citizens of BC deserve better. Mark Petty

Protected by the Canadian Medical Protective Association's $5 billion dollar war chest, of mostly tax payer money. This college does as it pleases, regardless of the law in my opinion. This self-regulating college refused to answer my questions about the complaints process when I called on multiple occasions. Instead, transferring me to a recording. Which instructed me to leave a detailed message, and someone would get back to me. No one ever did. My written complaints were submitted via courier, and signed for by staff. The complaints then went missing. The Chief Registrar refused to investigate the loss of the documents. My follow-up complaint against the Chief Registrar for obstruction and breach of trust were immediately dismissed by her friends. This self-serving college has demonstrated a compete lack of respect for the Health Professions Act in my opinion. I do not recommend wasting your time and money filing a complaint with them. As the outcome seems to be pre-determined in my opinion.

Dear college of physicians, I think it is of huge urgency that you investigate the Medlife clinic in North Vancouver. I believe from the rudness and disorganization of the receptionists that they have uncertified staff handling peoples private medical files. Please read the Google reviews about this clinic to see how many patients are complaing about the staffs rude and abusive behavior. Apparently the staff manager is also not certified to be working in a clinic yet she is managing staff in a medical clinic!!! I asked the reseptionist to talk to the office manager and she said no you can't and hung up on me. This behavior is beyond unprofessional and needs to be addressed. If I find out untrained/uncertified staff have had access to my private medical files at Medlife clinic legal action will be taken.

The College Of Physicians is sketchy

Be warned- they won't do anything if you complain that Dr. Paul Milanese is abusing female patients if you don't make the document viewable to the abuser too. Absolutely no protections or shielding measures are available to victims.

Probably the worst govt agency i have dealt with. In 1 hr i accomplished more than they did in 8 months.i had the worst hip replacement in vgh history. Im now severely disabled. Dr clive duncanfalsified all my medical records. I told college my gp has the truth. They refusrd to contact my gp. The investigator basically asked me to take the lead on my own investigation. Ive withdrawn my complaint cause i refuse to be neglected any more. Total waste of time and energy. They should be ashamed of themsrlves for cashing a pay cheque.

Very unsatisfied. Still waiting for a decision - after a year. Is there any accountability ? I would file a complaint ith the BC Ombudsman ... but they are no better in my experience. Perhaps the local MLA ? We got rid of the College of Teachers when they lost credibility. Is it time again ? Beware people.
