About a week and a half ago, I went to Dr. Gater to have my two remaining impacted wisdom teeth removed surgically. Previously, I had my other wisdom teeth taken out one at a time by a dentist and each time, my experience was very poor. I was given local anesthetic and I was not sedated, and I had extremely poorly managed post-operative pain. I decided to have my last two removed surgically with deep sedation in the hopes of a better post-operative experience. I explained my previous experience and they were very understanding. I only needed to take regular extra strength tylenol for 2 days and I did not require my prescribed medications. I had very little to no postoperative pain and minimal swelling. The call from Dr. Gater the evening after my surgery was a nice touch! I would recommend Dr. Gater to anyone who needs dental surgery.

I had a minor surgery performed by Dr. Mokhtari. He, and his staff, were professional, caring, and more than competent at their jobs. Everything went as planned and they were as accommodating as possible to my work schedule. Highly recommend.

Dr. MacNicol was great! He removed all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth. Straightforward, friendly, quick. His assistants were wonderful. They were kind and explained everything to me that was happening. I think one of the assistants is new and being trained by the other, and she was doing so well! Very professional and compassionate.

When asked what plan was in place if anything went wrong with surgery, the admin forced us to come in for a consult, which she failed to mention, cost $185. When I asked the question directly to Dr. Gater, I was told that there was a plan. When I asked what the plan was, he spoke to me disparagingly and indicated that he thought I was being an over protective mother. He finally answered, what other dental care offices treated as a normal and easily answered question, but made it clear that he thought the question was beneath him, as he has never had an issue in the years he has been practicing (I know it is unlikely that things will go wrong but that does not mean impossible, and I simply wanted to know what the process is, should things go wrong). No other dental office required me to attend the office to provide an answer to this question. In addition, Dr. Gater’s primary nurse was extremely rude and abrupt in her demeanour. We ultimately chose to go with a different dental office for my daughter’s wisdom teeth extraction.

They keep holding out on my prescriptions for painkillers even though I don't have even an estimated date for when my appointment to have the tooth pulled will be. They gave me 12, and I'm supposed to take 3 a day. That's 4 days of painkillers.. They upped it to 14 this time! Wow! Even the pharmacist thought it was ridiculous the prescriptions they've been giving me. They're treating me like some kind of dope head even though I don't want the meds, I need it! After my tooth is pulled I will not be returning to this dentist.

I highly recommend this dental office. Dr. Andrew Gater is the surgeon who removed all four wisdom teeth for both of our sons. I had a lot of questions and he was very kind to explain everything to me. He was very professional and we are lucky to have him here in Barrie. Both sons had a quick recovery with no complications. 5 stars!

My daughter has had her wisdom teeth removed here in the past. And my husband will be having a tooth removed there tomorrow. The staff are great to deal with. Direct, honest, professional. They give the facts about billing. No one should be surprised they do not bill insurance directly. I know of almost no dentist that is in that habit now a days. Very clean office. Seem to have covid procedures down pat. I could go on about how lovely they are, but you get the picture.

Was extremely nervous to get my wisdom tooth out at 29 but Dr. Jackson and his team made me feel so at ease. It was done before I knew it, put out for less than 30 minutes and had a great recovery. Would highly recommend this office for any dental surgery!

I had Dr. Mohammad Mokhtari do a High risk Wisdom tooth extraction. One of my wisdom teeth had contact with the nerve which unfortunately could have caused numbness or tingling to my lips tounge and chin. He did a wonderful job! I have absolutely no nerve damage and the recovery is going wonderful. He called me the following day after surgery to check in. The ladies at the front desk are kind and helpful. I truely dont have any complaints and would recommend then to anyone in need!

The surgeon left two teeth in instead of extracting all, and I needed an additional surgery. Then he didn't put in enough bone graft and I needed an additional surgery. I still need the footing for an implant. Asked to see a different surgeon but was told you can't switch surgeons.

I had Dr. Gator remove 4 wisdom teeth as a mid 20s male. Bottom two molars were impacted top two were simple. Dr. Gator was extremely professional and quite skilled judging by the minimal bruising and swelling. 14 days post op and I'm back to eating and functioning normally with no worries. His suturing skills resulted in such small holes that no food is getting in. I could not be more happy with his work.

I just had my wisdom teeth pulled here. The dentist I had (an older, white man) was very polite and made sure I understood what was happening up until I went under. The recovery room and the staff there were miserable, however. Example: One of the nurses working there hissed at me during a conversation with my Papa, within which I was frustrated because I obviously can't speak and he's needling me with questions, forcefully putting herself into our conversation which was incredibly rude. One of the other patients in the waiting room, who I knew, had to wait almost my entire recovery period in there to get a simple ice pack. Theres also zero privacy in the recovery room, there should be curtains or something as a lot of people have fragile minds about how they look and easily get upset knowing they look messed up from surgery, and are forced to sit there openly with the other patients in perfect view. Nobody explained HOW to put gauze in my mouth or how to use in the syringe for cleaning, just WHAT to do. I know I have to use gauze, how do I put it in my mouth? Yeah. Would recommend the dentist.

No one looks forward to a tooth extraction but I can certainly say I am looking backwards at an absolutely delightful, yes, delightful experience. I needed an emergency extraction and the office staff prepared me thoroughly despite 24 hours notice of the appointment. Checking in and being prepared for surgery settled my nerves ... excellent, friendly protocol and once I was in the chair I knew I was in good hands ... expert hands. Dr. Jackson and the staff involved in the procedure explained everything and executed the extraction with precision. I went on to enjoy a weekend with young grandchildren to the fullest ... no swelling, no pain! Believe it or not, I am already looking forward to the next stage of things; my implant! Thank you Dr. Jackson and everyone in the office and on the surgery team.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Huronia surgical group. I was experiencing a very sore and infected tooth, one of which I had filled twice in 2019 by a dentist. I am 8 months pregnant. After going to emerge and getting amoxicillin, they advised me to see a dentist asap. I called many places and nobody would touch me because my pregnancy. They suggested Huronia. I called, basically in tears from the pain. They managed to squeeze me in as an emergency that same day for a consultation. Dr Gater checked me out and did not have any x rays because of my pregnancy. The nurses, reception, and Dr Gater all wanted to help me and cared about my pain, listening to my concerns. They fit me in within 2 days to pull my tooth. I told them I get very anxious and often pass out during dental procedures. The nurses and doctor Gater were AMAZING. They calmed me down, spoke to me every step of the way on what they were doing during the procedure, and constantly checked to make sure I felt ok. They were so helpful, and I am so grateful for what they did for me! Thank you SO MUCH to all the staff at Huronia!!!

I needed a simple biopsy to determine the possibility of tongue cancer.... The rude secretary told me that i needed a consult first to tell me that i needed the biopsy. The consult was a month and a half away. Then the biopsy would be scheduled then i would have to wait another month for the results appointment just to maybe schedule the ACTUAL appointment to ACTUALLY deal with the cancer.... a 4 to 6 month wait time just to START dealing with cancer... and they don't direct bill to insurance my dentist does my prescriptions do... but they don't? When i complained about it the secretary told me well that's how it is... i'm sorry but no.... I took my business elsewhere....

I was referred by my family dentist to have broken roots from a molar removed from my jaw. From the first point of contact until I left the recovery room all the staff were professional and confident. I would highly recommend Huronia Oral Surgery. As a side not both my children had there wisdom teeth out there as well with a similar expereince.

My daughter had 4 wisdom teeth removed yesterday and although she was anxious Dr. Mohammad Mokhtari was incredibly kind and and reassured her all would be ok. He was right! The procedure was quick and she had very little psin. Today she feels great and is eating soft foods with little to no trouble. The staff are all very kind and I would highly recommend them. Thank you for taking such great care of my girl. She is no longer afraid of being put to sleep.

Went here to get my wisdom teeth out. Was a bit nervous as I have had some bad experiences going to dentists in the past.. but this place is amazing. Dental assistants went above and beyond. They were very friendly and made me feel comfortable right away. Dentist was awesome as well. worked quickly, left there with zero pain the whole day and extraction sites looked very clean and like would heal up very well. Overall was my best experience at a dentist this far. Would definitely recommend!

Receptionists are very confused, as they believe that they can treat everyone who walks through the door like garbage. The "nurse" in the recovery room is extremely rude and condescending. The surgeons are great, I beleive since they are not misrable like the front desk staff and the nurses.

I had to have a bad tooth removed. Dr. Mac Nicol was assigned the job. The appointment was for 10:15 and because we live in North Bay, we don't have to leave early because of traffic. We got there at about 10:10, I filled in the forms an just as I finished, I was called in. Dr. Mac Nicol was very friendly, and had me frozen solid in an instant. And after a few minutes he came back and I explained that it was a bad tooth and that it would come out like the way the Lord of the Rings was published - in three parts. And it did. And that was it. The staff were marvelous about explaining everything before hand about what to expect and gave me a large quantity of gauze for later. They were so good, and so quick I was home to watch the Price is Right from the beginning (it starts at 11:00 a.m.) So 11 out 10 for Dr. Mac Nicol and his staff. You people should get a raise!

I had all four wisdom teeth removal done by Dr. Andrew Gater. The whole process was fantastic, I felt scared and uneasy; but Dr. Gater and his staff made me feel relax and comfortable. I received a call from Dr.Gater later that evening to see how I was feeling and if I had any questions for him, and a call the next day from his staff to do another follow up with me and to see if I had any other questions. I experienced no bruising, very little swelling, and minimal pain. If you need to get your wisdom teeth out; I would highly recommend Dr. Gater. Thank you for everything and giving me a positive experience with my wisdom teeth removal.

My husband had a tooth extracted today (Feb 17th, 2021) by Dr. Mokhtari! He was extremely professional and calming. My husband had never had dental surgery before and was nervous about being put out and the office helped him calm his nerves. I would also like to thank Leslie for the couple of phone calls I had with her about the price and procedure. I was very taken back and upset about the price because it was 3x the amount I was quoted initially, but once we got my husbands procedure figured out, the price was back down to what I was originally quoted. She was very nice in calling me back after being so upset and just reassured me everything was going to be okay. The recovery room nurse was very nice as well (I’m sorry but I can’t remember her name), she was very informative of the after care that’s required and what our next few days of recovery will look like. This was overall a good experience!
